“Christmas on Reindeer Road” by Debbie Mason is book two in the Highland Falls series. After the death of her husband, Mallory Maitland moves back to Highland Falls, NC with her two teenage stepsons. The boys are rebellious and unhappy having been uprooted from their friends in Atlanta and their mother, who unbeknownst to them, did not want to raise them. The boys spread rumors about how bad a stepmother Mallory is who is devastated by the accusations. Gabriel “Gabe” Buchanan is the chief of police, widowed with three boys of his own. He is required to bring in social services to ensure the welfare of the boys in Mallory’s care. Will Mallory be able to keep her guardianship of the boys she has grown to love? Or because she loves them, will she give them their desire to return to their boarding school overseas? This is a story about blended families and the difficulties they often experience. It is a heartwarming story about sacrifices family members make to be sure no one ever feels unloved.

Debbie Mason has knocked it out of the park with this one. I am not the type of person that obsessively watches Hallmark Christmas movies, and while I don’t dislike Christmas themed books, I don’t go out of my way to read them. But, I really liked the first book in the Highland Falls series, so I wanted to read this one right away!

Mallory is returning to live in Highland Falls with her 2 stepsons, who are not at all happy about it. They would much rather be going back to their boarding school in England, but their former stepmother, who is in charge of their deceased father’s estate will not pay for it, and has also decided that she does not want them.

Mallory is no stranger to not being wanted. After her mother died, her father drowned himself in the bottle, and she was taken away from him, and Highland Falls, and placed in foster care. She moves in next to a widower and his three boys, and tries to make the best of her new life.

I fell in love with the character Teddy, a precocious 5 year old who is extremely taken with the magic of Christmas. Mallory has a big heart, one that hasn’t been broken by all of the struggle and disappointments in her life.

I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for Highland Falls next. If you like Christmas stories, quirky characters in a small town, and a complicated romance, you will love this book as much as I did.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Christmas on Reindeer Road is the second book in Debbie Mason’s Highland Falls Series. Even though this is the second book in this series it can very well be read as a standalone. Ms. Mason wrote a wonderful story which drew me right in, making me forget everything else and did not let me go until I turned the last page. This is a very well written book with well-developed characters. Characters you can’t help but fall in love with. This book will bring you tears and also laughter. I was sad when this book ended and am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Christmas on Reindeer Road is the second book in the Highland Falls Series by Debbie Manson.
Mallory takes her two stepsons and moves back to her hometown of Highland Falls. The boys are not too excited about leaving their friends behind, but Mallory knows it will be the best thing for them. She moves into an adorable house on Reindeer Road. It needs some work, but she knows she can make it a comfortable home for her and the boys.
Gabe is the new town chief of police and he is raising his 3 young sons. And he is Mallory’s neighbor.
They had met the summer before when she was in town and he had arrested her.
They soon realize even with all the eyes of the town on them watching every move they make they have feelings for each other.
Having the Christmas season as the backdrop for the story makes for a fantastic read.
Thank you NetGalley, Debbie Mason, and Forever- Grand Central Publishing for the ARC of this beautiful story. This is my personal review in exchange for the ARC.

“And just so you know, it’s been scientifically proven that people who believe in the magic of the holidays are happier than those who don’t.”

If I could describe Christmas on Reindeer Road in one word, it would be: heartwarming. So heartwarming. Mallory had every card stacked against her, and she was still a great and kind person. I adored the MC. It’s so hard to not cheer for the characters in this book. From Dot and Kayla to Owen and Boyd, you just have all the feels as the magic of Christmas mends fields or broken relationships. Of course, Teddy is the perfect youngest child bringing the childlike joy of Christmas on the pages.

I do find it gross and icky that someone would abuse their power and put 2 children’s livelihood in jeopardy just because. I’m thankful those ended in such positive terms, but I felt anger rise up in me during the helplessness of it all for not only Mallory, but Gabe’s situation as well.

This one is enjoyable for any Grinch that is trying to find the true meaning of Christmas, those that could be a secret Elf for Santa, and those who like to see the good in every situation.

Thank you so much Forever & NetGalley for the ARC! This one is out Sept 29th ❤️

Ok, I really wanted to like this book. It has lots of my favourite things in it ...
Precocious 5 year old matchmaker
Christmas setting
Single parents
Canadian author
Delightful town and community
I was ready ... but
It let me down.
Mallory is just so passive. Everything happens to her and she just sits waiting for the next punch from life to land on her.
And the hero, Gabe, is a jerk! He makes decisions for Mallory without talking to her about anything.
I stuck with it ... waiting for the big grovel at the end. IT DOESN’T HAPPEN!
Mallory even says “I love you “ first. WHY? He’s a manipulative idiot. What’s to love?
I was very disappointed.

Christmas on Reindeer Road is the second in the Highland Falls series, but can be read as a stand-alone, as I did. It was very easy to pick up on who's who, and the author built in a good backstory explaining that Mallory and Gabe had met the year before, when he arrested her!!

Now, Mallory has moved back to town with her two stepsons. Her estranged father still lives here, and she knows most of the town's people as well. Gabe is the local Sheriff, and he is a widower with three sons. When social services gets involved with Mallory and her sons, Gabe is appointed as a person to watch over them and make sure all is ok. Since they now happen to live next door, that's easy to do. Plenty of sparks fly between the two families, making for a fun adventure.

I don't do spoilers, so won't reveal the details, but this is a sweet HEA novel. I will definitely be reading more in this series!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

An entertaining and well written romance. Very good plot and character development. Love Christmas books and this fit the bill. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and this is my unbiased review.

This is my second book by Debbie Mason, and I will keep coming back for more! I loved Mallory and Gabe's story. I also enjoyed seeing the characters from the first book in the series and getting to know the town better. I can't wait to go back again.

While the love story is endearing, this story (like the last one) is so much more than that. There are themes and story lines of hope, redemption, second chances, new families, grief, healing, friendship, community, love, humor, and Christmas (I love Christmas love stories). It's a complex story with so many different characters and they all feel real and flawed and hopeful to me. I found myself rooting for all (well, almost all) of them. I definitely smiled and was in tears multiple times because everyone felt so real.

Mallory, a young widow, has come to live in her hometown with her two reluctant stepsons. She ends up living next door, to Gabe, the police chief and also a widow, and his three young sons. Both are working to keep their families together and find their place in the community. The boys, especially Teddy, are wonderful.

Thanks to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for an advance copy of this book in exchange fo ran honest review.

Christmas on Reindeer Road by Debbie Mason is a super cute Christmas romance. There are lots of fun tropes for romance readers: small town, Christmas town, nods to Outlander, second chance, Hot Cop, moving back home.

Mallory moves back to her hometown with her two teenage stepsons. After losing their father (her husband) and a tough trail with an ex-wife, they all need a fresh start. Mallory is hoping celebrating Christmas in Highland Falls will do just that. Though the town and her boys with throw lots of complications her way.

Gabe is the chief of police and facing his own complications. Being accepted by the town seniors and his intense in-laws. He is a single father of three boys. His youngest son, Teddy, is almost 6. Teddy is the highlight of this book I must say. Mason does such a great job of really capturing how cute and funny this age can be.

This was my first time reading Debbie Mason and she is a very skillful writer. Christmas on Reindeer Road has a large cast of characters with complicated relationships. Mason keeps them all very clear so there is never a tangle or confusion. I really worried that these complications would bog down the story but so many things pop up that there is always something new moving the MCs toward each other.

Works very well as a stand alone. Though I think I may go back to the first to find out more about the secondary characters and Outlander tourism references.

Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Christmas on Reindeer Road by Debbie Mason is the second book in the Highland Falls Series.
While this is a second book in a series, the book can be a stand alone. However Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge was a great read, so I suggest you read them both!!

Mallory and her step sons need to start over. Mallory is not willing to fight anymore. She and the boys move to Highland Falls. Mallory grew up in this small town but the boys are disgusted they have to leave Atlanta. She has a new position and a cute house on Reindeer Road.

Her entrance into town caused a bit of a ruckus as the boys hitched a ride with a trucker and a story of abuse. By the time this is all over, she has a huge hole to climb out of with people. It doesn’t help that the Chief of Police is the person who is supposed to supervise her with the boys and is her next door neighbor. Only nothing really is as seen. He is a widower with 3 boys of his own and a mother-in-law who is so upset by her daughter’s death that she wants to take over the raising of boys and is angry all the time.

I love the setting of a small town filled with people of Scottish descent (as I am one too). I love the small town feel with everyone helping everyone. Mostly I loved the feeling of Christmas and the beliefs of love and hope fill the season.

This book is a hoot just like the first book. There are many scenes that can cause you to snicker and chuckle out loud. The characters are great. I loved Mallory and her positive look on life. Gabriel is just hot! I didn’t like how fear ruled Gabriel’s life so long, but I can see how it happened. What a great couple and 5 boys...WOW. Christmas on Reindeer Road by Debbie Mason is a fun, holiday, great read!!

This was a great story of love, family, and forgiveness. It was a light, quick read that will leave you with a smile on your face.
Mallory has not had an easy life, but she always works hard to make sure those in need have help. After her husband's death, she "inherited" his two sons, but lost his fortune to his first wife. She moves back to her home town where her best friends live, but where memories of her past still haunt her. Her match making best friend, Abby, rents her a house on Reindeer Road, conveniently next to single father, Gabe, and continuously tries to get the two together. But, Gabe has his own ghosts and problems, and it seems like no matter how much Gabe and Mallory want to be together, forces beyond their control keep them apart.
I loved the characters, especially Gabe's little son Teddy. He truly reminds you what Christmas Spirit is all about.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

"Can the magic of mistletoe bring together two busy single parents?"
Of course, but first we must deal with the outside noise, the meddling of others, the increased angst from raising teens and the subparenting dilemmas as stepchildren are in a world of their own.
Fear not as this is a hearty bunch who get into all kinds of interesting dilemmas while involvement from grandparents and others is threatening to destroy the kindling embers.
Debbie Mason's newest work can stand alone quite well and if you've read the first in this Highland Falls Book series you'll be pleased to know that this one for me was a home run.
I loved the commaderie, the attention to detail, the spirit of the season, and the lively action that never stopped going full steam ahead.
It's more than just a chick lit, romance, or fictional work as it transports one to the feel good adventures that many of us have had to experience and indulge.
Thank you to Debbie, the pub, NetGalley, and Amazon Kindle for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.

A sweet story about two widowed single parents struggling to keep their kids and build good lives. Mallory's got her stepsons, who want to be back at boarding school in the UK- and are trying to make her life a bit difficult. Gabe has three boys and his in-laws don't think he can effectively parent. These two are neighbors and they make tentative steps toward one another but are always conscious of their responsibilities. There are some plot holes but that's ok- we all know we read these for the romance. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. Two families you will root for.

I have always loved Debbie Mason's books and this one does not disappoint. Such a heartwarming Christmas story. Two families-both widowed-blend their families together. Gabe, the Chief of Police, is raising his three sons alone while trying to keep his meddling mother-in-law from gaining custody of the boys. Mallory has custody of her two step-sons and they are a hand full. Gabe's adorable son Teddy makes it his Christmas mission to blend their families together with the help of Santa of course.

Thank you to Net Galley for an advanced copy of this book. Ms. Mason has written a great second book in her newest series, Highland Falls. The main characters in this book appeared in the previous book and were drawn together in that book and their love story continues. Both Mallory and Gabe have their own personal issues but can't resist their draw to one another. They both have people making their lives a living hell, however they are able to lift themselves up and put their lives together with each other and their families. This is a great story and a very enjoyable read.

It's the most wonderful time of the year. It is time for all the Christmas stories to hit my Kindle.

I have enjoyed all of Debbie Mason's books that I have read so far, and add in my favourite season Christmas, and I am all in.

Mallory and Gabriel's is more about them finding their way after losses in their lives than a Christmas story. It was a lovely tale, but deeper that i was expecting - I was expecting a light and fluffy story. Not that this is a bad thing. Just unexepected.

It was full of relatable issues, family dramas, teen angst. I laughed at times, I got completely frustrated and angry with people as I was reading.

There is someone who steals every scene they are in. I can't wait for you to meet them.

WHEN A 5 YEAR OLD PLAYS MATCHMAKER, I AM SMITTEN!!!

This second installment in the Highland Falls thing deals with 2 people who have lost their spouses. Mallory now has full custody of her 2 teenage sons. She just moved them back to Highland Falls for a change of space, and because Mallory got a job in her hometown.

Gabe is the new town chief of police, raising 3 young boys, while also dealing with the criticism of his deceased wife's parents. While adjusting to his position, he has to deal with his budding feelings for his new neighbor, whom he started crushing on when she was in town last summer.

Mason's Christmas novels are always so charming to me. I really enjoyed this one, and am seriously in love with the youngest Buchanan boy, Teddy

P.S. This is officially my favorite Debbie Mason series.
