A great escape from from everyday life, this feel good story drew me in and put me in the holiday spirit. It was well written and easy to read. |
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. You can purchase your copy here on September 29th: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083JYT3BP/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1 Ok, I know you are thinking- didn’t you just read a Christmas book? YUP, Yes, yes I did! I love everything Christmas from the peppermint mocha lattes, Gingerbread cookies, sugar cookies, and more. I need to stop, I think I gained 10 pounds just dreaming and longing for Christmas! This was my fourth book by Debbie Mason. I have rated her books 4 stars or 5 stars and this one was right up there with the others that I have read by her! I am so grateful to have received this book and was so excited to have been in receipt of this one! This book had some funny quotes and situations. Um,how can you possibly get your toe stuck in the faucet?? Especially if you were in the tub alone....I have gotten my hair knotted from the jets when I slipped down under the bubbles in my jacuzzi, but never my toe stuck, lol. This book takes place in Highland Falls, North Carolina. We begin with Mallory Maitland driving from Atlanta to her hometown of Highland with her late husband’s stepsons Oliver and Brooks in the back seat. Mallory has not had an easy time with these boys, she has been evicted with two weeks’ notice, lost six out of seven of her clients, among a few of the shenanigans that have been bestowed upon her in the last two months. She doesn’t blame them because they have had a crappy life! Their mother, Harry’s second wife, signed away her parental rights for half of their father’s fortune. Mallory fought so hard to change her husband’s mind and not to give her the money, not because she wanted it, but because the boys needed their mother. The boys have a history of boarding school in England. It is the day after Thanksgiving. She is hoping that the holiday season will soften the boys and the magic of Christmas will help things along. At a stop before they get to their new house, Mallory stumbles upon Gabriel Buchanon, the chief of police, a man she thought that was the man of her dreams, until he became the man of her nightmares. Oliver and Brooks do some more shenanigans and stress poor Mallory out along the way. We are taken on quite the journey between Oliver, Brooks, Mallory, Gabriel and other fun characters that add to the drama of this book. This book had me yelling at some of the characters later in the book! I was so elated at how the ending turned out. I am afraid to give any more details because I am not one to divulge spoilers. I was so happy to have a nice and cheery ending to this book and happy to have a nice Christmas book! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! |
Christmas on Reindeer Road was a wonderful book. It was just what I needed to read with relatable characters, family relationships in addition to romantic ones, and lot of holiday spirit. Mallory and Gabe are definitely attracted to each other, but there were so many issues for them to navigate. Their road is especially bumpy because it includes his sons and her stepsons. The struggles they had made their HEA that much more satisfying. I thought the character growth throughout was so well done. Especially Mallory's as she finds her place in Highland Falls, mends old relationships, and tries to be the best stepmother she can. I also thought both Gabe and Mallory's kids were great secondary characters. I especially liked Teddy and his love of Christmas and family. I highly recommend both this book and series! I can't wait to see what the author writes next. |
I love a good Christmas story year round. From getting into the spirit of the season around the holidays or just a mental break from the heat if the summer, stories like this always puts me in a good place. Debbie Mason is one of the best. |
I absolutely loved this heartwarming Christmas story. All of the characters were wonderful, and Gabe's son Teddy was so adorable! I look forward to my next visit to Highland Falls. |
Now I want to go live on Reindeer Road and I want to adopt Teddy! Loving Christmas as I do, I always jump at the chance of reading any Christmas related books and I must say, this one is one of my favourites!! Debbie Mason has proven over and over what a wonderful author she is and she never ceases to amaze me with her stories. She puts so much heart into them and the characters are so realistic, they become part of your family. Gabe and Mallory are absolutely wonderful characters and it's instant attraction when they meet but each of them have their problems and it doesn't look like there's a future for them. It's Gabe's adorable 5 year old son, Teddy, who steals the spotlight, he's determined to have Mallory become his and his brothers' new mom! After all, it's his Christmas wish and he just knows Santa will make his wish come true:) There are so many delightful scenes, as well as some very touching ones and you will find yourself not wanting to put the book down. I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review. |

I loved Christmas on Reindeer Road by Debbie Mason. Christmas books are my favorite books to read. This Christmas book is full of romance and a little child believing in the miracle of Christmas. Read it I promise you will not be disappointed. |
3.5 stars I had the opportunity to review "Summer on Honeysuckle Ridge" earlier this summer so I jumped at the chance to review the 2nd book in this series, "Christmas on Reindeer Road". This book picks up where the first book left off - many of the same characters were an integral part to this book and although this book can be read as a stand alone book, it definitely makes more sense if you have read the first book. While I liked this book better than the first one, I still didn't totally LOVE this book. I liked it - it was an easy read that I did in one afternoon as I sat on my back deck enjoying the birds flying around. Just when I started to really feel a connection to some of the characters, they would do something stupid that made me totally not relate to them anymore (the way the Chief snapped at the boys for dropping the ornament; the way Mallory seemed to live as a pauper and took a job servicing senior citizens even though she had a medical degree; the awkward interactions between the Chief and Mallory, etc.). BUT ... I truly adored Teddy. Teddy (and Brooks to a certain extent) really made this book so much more enjoyable. I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases. |
The second in a series but can be read as a standalone story . Gabe and Mallory both end up on Reindeer Road as neighbors raising their children as single parents. They help each other babysit and work on plans to help them keep their families intact and happy. Along the way there are lots of laughs, shenanigsns, and a few tears. In the end, the youngest of all the children helps the adults find their way. A great addition to the series! I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions. |
Fun holiday Christmas story set in Highland Falls. Two single parents, one with 2 step children, and a widower with three boys. Teddy is adorable!! Road to true love isn't easy. But, it's worth it. Great addition to series. |
If this book doesn't put you in the holiday spirit, nothing will. I adored every single word. The characters leaped from the pages straight into my heart. And the emotional depth in this story. It has *all* the feels! Honestly, I just wanted to wrap my arms around these characters and hug them tight. I loved them so much. I've been reading Debbie Mason since her debut (when she wrote as Debbie Mazzuca) and more than a few of her books have been 5-star reads for me but this one, this one is special. I had already pre-ordered Christmas on Reindeer Road in e-book (because I have limited space) but after reading the ARC I'll also be ordering it in print. It's joining my special holiday shelf of books; those I can see, touch, and curl up with in front of my Christmas tree every year as I once again revisit beloved characters and lose myself in their journeys to a happily ever after. I highly recommend you add Christmas on Reindeer Road to your holiday reading list. *ARC received from publisher via NetGalley for fair and unbiased review |
Debbie is one of my all time favorite authors and she certainly didn't let me down with this one. well written and the characters were relatable. |
This was my first book by this author, It was pretty enjoyable. I would give this book a 3.5 star rating! It was a pretty Quick and easy read! |
This is the perfect Christmas read. This book is very warm, loving, heartfelt, funny and sometimes sad. You can read this as a stand alone but the first book is great also. Highland Falls is the perfect background to find new love and to have a Christmas miracle. I read this book in August and still found it the best so you can read it anytime of the year. I just think it will be more special at Christmas time. Mallory and Gabe have got to overcome a lot to end up together. I do think the fight they go through will be worth it in the end. I hope there are more books to come in this series as I would like to keep hearing about these characters. I can't believe I forgot to mention Teddy. He steals the show in this book. |
This is a chick-lit. Mallory lost husband, and she is fighting to keep her late husband's kids. Gabriel lost his wife, and his in-laws is fighting to get custody of his sons. This book is more about getting use to raising their kids by themselves, and them fighting for custody. I enjoyed this book, but I think if you are looking for a romance or a cute Christmas story you will be disappointed. I would not call this a romance, but I would call it more women's fiction or chick-lit. The characters where easy to love, and you learn so much about them though out the book. I really wish there was more sparks or romance between Mallory and Gabriel. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Forever) or author (Debbie Mason) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that. This book is schedule to be release on September 29-2020. |

A quick read that has a cute quirkiness that keeps you engaged and wanting to keep reading. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait for the next book. |
What a heartwarming romance story! I fell in love with the town of Highland Falls in the first book of this series, and I was excited that this book gave updates on some of the characters we fell in love with in book one. We were first introduced to the tension between Mallory and Gabe in the last book, and their story did not disappoint! Both Gabe and Mallory are great characters, and I loved their development and how everything worked out for them. Although I must admit my favorite character in this book was Teddy, I absolutely adored him and his intelligence and Christmas spirit! This was a wonderful addition to the Highland Falls series, and I can’t wait for the next book to come out! |
Christmas and a sweet romance all in one. Can a little boy without his mother and a woman who is trying to make a family with her teen stepsons after her husband dies teach everyone the magic of Christmas? Yes! With a mean Grandma on one side a and a Father who gave her up on the other and a romance in the middle this story comes together tied with a big bow just in time for Christmas! Thanks to the publisher, NetGalley and the author Debbie Mason for letting me read an advanced copy of Christmas on Reindeer Road! |
