Didn’t really catch my interest
3 stars

I do enjoy a hockey romance although, to be honest, the fact that Tax is a hockey player isn’t that important to this story - other than the side-story of him waiting to find out if he’s being re-signed to his team, or not. It’s really more of a tale of two friends becoming more…after she dumps her cheating fiancé at the altar!

It wasn’t until I started writing this review that I realised that I don’t feel I really got to know either character all that well. In the beginning we hear that Jax likes women and plays the field as he’s not all that interested in marriage due to some family drama. He does change as the book - and his relationship with Molly - moves on, but did I feel emotionally invested in these characters? Not really. And did I really feel I knew them? Not at all.

Which kind of surprised me as there was a lot of content in this 291 page book - and a lot of dialogue. Sometimes it was just back and forth and back and forth, with no interruption, which did make reading go in a flash, but didn’t do much for me building up knowledge or feeling. And some of the writing really came across as if it would have been better had this been a film where I could see nuances and facial expressions. Words like “whelp” can’t really compete with being shown how someone feels.

There’s a lot of side stories also going on in this story - and for the first half of the story at least, a lot of it is to do with Jax’s family. I haven’t read any of the other books in this series - and while I definitely think this book stands alone, I also think I would have enjoyed the family scenes a little bit more had I known who on earth some of these other people were.

There is also the fact that Jax’s grandfather has Alzheimer’s and his parents are still working through their break-up from when Jax was a teen. So it’s definitely not all fun and games with his crazy, quirky family.

The book is written in first person, present tense - so “I sigh.” “I walk…” etc. and in both Jax and Molly’s point of view, normally alternating a chapter each, but sometimes it changes halfway, or a couple of times in the middle. It’s a good mix of both voices.

It takes a long while for Jax and Molly to cross that friendship line into something more - but even when they did I felt that it was on the rebound and nothing more. I did change my mind as they spent more time together but it was always a bit of a niggle. But by the end I was cheering for them to get together - and it was kinda sweet the way Jax apologised.

I didn’t think there was much need for Steve to be redeemed in anyone’s eyes at the end. And him going to bat for Molly and then being so cool with Jax just made me shake my head in disbelief. Sometimes people are douchecanoes - and that’s alright.

Overall, I just couldn’t get into this book or this story. I think that if you fancy this book and haven’t read the others in the series, read them first so you have some sort of attachment to the Wynn family. Then, I’m sure you’ll really enjoy this book and devour it from cover to cover. Coming in as a newbie to the Wynn’s, I can only give it 3 stars, I’m afraid.

Love the whole Wynn Dynasty, this one starring Jax and Molly. While each read is a standalone with it's own HEA, I think these happen to be better when read in order. There are a lot of Wynns, and each one more fascinating. I feel like they are my book family, and I'm fully signed on!
The quote that stands out for me is:
Not all storms come to disrupt your life; some come to clear your path.
Love this, it was so true for Molly and Jax. They were friends long before they realized it could be much deeper. When the storm devastated Molly, she knew she had to get away for a while. Who better than Jax, since he was going to California, she thought that was the perfect answer.
Jax was going to California because of guilt on so many levels, it was Molly who showed him it was okay to confront his feelings, the family he loved, and talk it out. So much time wasted.
This was a very emotional story of facing realities of life, illnesses, divorced parents, cheating X's, about opening up and talking. So a lot of Wynns make cameo appearances in here.
Jax and Molly could talk about most anything, but that all changes when she goes to Canada with him. It's perfect there, too perfect? They bonded, it was hot and beautiful! These two had to sort their feelings and neither did a very good job of that when back in Chicago, because it was only meant to be a fling, but the path was cleared.
I felt every emotion while reading their journey, the happiness they shared doing the little things, the hilarity of them and their Trivia obsession, and the confusion of moving forward.
Excellent fast paced read to the happy sigh HEA I crave!
I received an ARC through Netgalley and am giving my honest opinions voluntarily.

3.5 stars. Jax and Molly are friends, and he helps her escape when her wedding to one of his teammates falls apart. She's a teacher and has the summer off, and she begs to go with him to California so she can get away from Chicago. During their trip, she meets his family (who love her) and encourages Jax to spend more time with them, leading to some breakthroughs on his part. Jax and Molly eventually figure out they are more than just friends, but he's hung up on not wanting a relationship, and she feels guilty for moving on so quickly.
I really enjoyed the time Jax and Molly spent together away for regular life, and watching their friendship and their relationship grow. I would have rated the book higher, but towards the end I didn't like the involvement of another character in a big moment and I didn't find the timeline for when they were publicly outed to be totally feasible. The epilogue, while showing an ultimately good outcome, had details that didn't feel like the same couple to me, unless I missed some reference elsewhere.
Overall, a good read and fairly lighthearted. Nice summer vacation book, and since Jax lives in Chicago while the other Wynn books are in California, this one felt like it would work the best as a standalone.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Man this one opened with a bang. I have to give it to Molly, she had balls for how she confronted Steve with what she found out. I liked that Jax was being a good guy and checked on Molly in the aftermath. I thought it funny how Molly seemed to steamroll over Jax to get him to help her get home, then go to CA with him and later to Canada.

In CA it was funny how Molly reacted to the crazy Wynn clan and how she kept pushing Jax to do something about different issues he had with is family. The funny thing is that Jax listened to Molly and talked to different people found out some things that made him change his perspective about things. The more time they spent together the more that feelings changed. But it wasn't til they got to Canada that things really changed for them. While they were alone they were able to explore things between them. Without any outsiders poking at them these two were great, they allowed them just be and have fun. Sadly they couldn't stay in the happy zone and had to go back home to Chicago.

In Chicago things were not so good, both going their separate way, both missing each other. Jax facing uncertainty in his career and wanting to talk to someone (Molly mostly) but not comfortable talking to anyone. I liked how finally Jax and Molly were forced to talk, the awkward third person made me laugh.

I liked how this one resolved, loved while things ended with a similar event that it started out with it had a much better ending.

I love this series so much! I hate to pick a favorite Wynn, as I adore this hockey family, but I do think it's possible that Jackson "Jax" Wynn may just be mine! He won my heart over from the start when he comes to the rescue of his friend and trivia partner Molly Flynn when she finds herself in a pretty crappy situation. The fact that he does this despite the awkward situation it could put him in with one of his teammates, really made me swoon.
I love Molly too, she is a teacher and is just so sweet. But she is strong and does not put up with any crap. That's how she ends up needing a diversion from her life and luckily Jax is more than happy to oblige.
I absolutely loved watching Jax and Molly's friendship morph almost daily into so much more. It may take a while for them to come to the realization that they really could be more than friends if they just allow it to happen, but when they do, it's magical. They have such amazing chemistry and so much in common and eventually are able to open up and talk to each other about everything, which is very helpful in their other relationships.
I just adore them together and loved their journey to happily ever after.
So many emotional and heartwarming things happen in this story that were a long time coming in the Wynn family dynamic! I loved this book!

Game Changer was definitely a game changer for me! I love reading any type of sports fiction stories and while most are very predictable, Game Changer is such a lovely, slow burn of a change.

Molly is a bride on the verge of getting married to a professional hockey player when the story begins. She suddenly finds herself leaving the premises as a single girl again (no spoilers here!), begging Jax for a ride. Jax, a teammate of her now ex-fiancé, ends up inviting her to stay at his place so she can hide from life in general.

What happens from there is a sweet and naturally unfolding story of how Molly and Jax fought to keep their priorities straight and in the meantime, brought together a family that wasted years of time together over miscommunications and hurt feelings.

I highly recommend “Game Changer” if you enjoy sports, romance, happily ever afters, humor, and adult decision-making. Kelly Jamieson is an amazing author with many more books and series you can also enjoy!

Kelly does it again. Not only does she create some crazy drama, she makes it all happen in a way that just sucks you right in. I love this series I’ve read them all and am never let down and this one was even better. Hockey, drama, and romance....that’s a hat trick for you! Lol! I can’t wait to see what else she can create for this series! I want to be a character in her books because they just have a great family life (even if there is some skeletons). I received this for my honest review! All the chaos between Molly, Steve and let’s not forget Jackson takes you all by surprise, but let’s face it Molly is better off.

Game Changer is the fifth book in the Wynn Hockey series by Kelly Jamieson, and is currently scheduled for release on June 9 2020. You do not have to have read the other books to enjoy this read (I have not read them) but I think returning readers will certainly enjoy it more with the amount of characters that make their appearance in this book.

Jackson Wynn did not want anything to do with my crazy family's drama, which I've been watching unfold from a distance over the last year, but now my grandfather has Alzheimer's and I feel I need to at least make a quick visit to see him. My hockey season's over, all I have to do is get through my teammate Steve's wedding, and then I'm on a plane to Los Angeles to do my family duty. After that, I'll head home to Manitoba for some summer R&R at the family lake cottage. Molly Flynn defies expectations at her wedding, which becomes pandemonium. I need to get out of there. Fast. Who do I turn to? Jackson Wynn, one my fiancee's teammates. He's been a friend to me since I met Steve. For one night, we hide out in his condo, but he's leaving in the morning for California. I want to go with him. On this trip, neither of us expect Molly to bond with my bonkers family and neither of us expect to bond with each other.

Game Changer is a friends to lovers story with a few twists. I really like Molly- she is sweet and strong with a good head on her shoulders. She just needs to escape for a bit to deal with the drama of telling off her groom at the altar for cheating. Jax is a good guy, with a difficulty in dealing with emotions and relationship problems. I liked the pair as friends, and watching them each slowly see that they wanted something else. The story starts as a slow burn, as each barely seems to know what they want, but they are just so nice together. I really like that even the best characters have some issues, and even those you might think of as the bad do have redeeming qualities and are worth a story of their own. The people were all multidimensional, and felt real, even if the situations they find themselves are well outside my reality, I feel like people in that position would really feel and act like them.

Game Changer is a fun and engaging read. Fans of this author, and this series, will definitely want to readers, and it might encourage new readers to check out the previous books.

Another great installment in the Wynn Hockey Series! Molly & Jax are perfect together! It was nice to explore Jax’s character as he didn’t figure prominently in the earlier books. And great also to understand a little more why he didn’t get involved in the family dynamics. This is a really wonderful HEA love story -especially if you’re a hockey lover! So looking forward to the next one! Wonder who it will be? Kinda hoping for a rekindled love story;)

I loved this book! I found myself urging Jax and Molly to get together as they seemed so perfect for each other!
I only discovered after reading this book that it is part of a series, it was certainly easy to follow as a stand alone book. I liked the writers style and will definitely be keeping an eye out for any future books.
A lovely feel good romance for lockdown :)
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

I have really enjoyed the Wynn Hockey series and Game Changer is one of my favorites. I've particularly enjoyed the arcing story lines like the senior Wynn's health and his two marriages.

Jax is awesome. He's kind and sexy and caring even under all that big time jock facade...as were his brothers and cousins. Molly is sweat and funny even when she's being pretty clingy. In the best ever set up for hanging out, Molly tags along on not one, but two, trips with Jax and their story seems to just naturally develop because they're so good together. For weeks, their friendship deepens but of course, over time, turns into so much more.

I just really enjoyed these two and their story as well as more peeks into the entire Wynn family.

I love this series. Each family member has a unique perspective of the many struggles of the Wynn hockey family and it makes the whole series so compelling. The drama plays out much like it does in real life, with events distorted by each characters particular perspective, but also with an underlying thread of union that transcends their many difficulties. In "Game Changer" we meet Jackson and we get to see how he has viewed the issues with his grandfather as well as how this view changes when confronted with grandfather Wynn's Alzheimer's diagnosis. With all this underlying, we get the story of his relationship with Molly, who just publicly dumped her cheating fiancee at the altar and followed Jackson to visit his complicated family. So there's hockey, if you like sports romances. There's a fun friends-to-lovers romance between two very likable characters. And there's an entire cast of characters that have grown and developed throughout this series.

I am loving the Wynn family series from Kelly Jamieson. Game Changer is another great book. I loved Jax and Molly. I also loved the cameos from the others in the family. It was nice to get to know Jax more, since he is one of the only family members not located in Southern California! If you are into hockey romances, I definitely recommend Game Changer and the rest of the books in this series!

I love how Jackson rescued Molly, and then she rescued him. They are so full of love and loyalty, and I just love this book! A great addition to the series!

This is the 5th novel in the Wynn Hockey series, and Jax is ready! Can be read as a standalone.

Molly uncovers her cheating fiance's ways the night before the wedding, and she outs him at the altar in front of the guests! Then Jax helps her leave the wedding in her rear view! Molly basically decides to stick to Jax like glue during his off-season.

Jax and Molly have a real connection on an emotional level, and they their chemistry is simply electric! A great hockey romance, and a valuable addition to the series.

Molly Flynn discovers her fiancé is cheating on her the night before the wedding and decides to flaunt the horrifying text messages at the altar in front of their wedding guests. After she begs her friend Jax to help her flee the disaster of her almost wedding.

What did I like? This book is the fifth of the series but each are easily a standalone. The chemistry between Jax and Molly is smoldering as she invites herself along on his post season summer. The book is highly enjoyable and the couple just really hits it off. I found myself not wanting to put the book down!

Would I recommend or buy? This is a really fun and binge worthy series! The family themselves are a unique blend of dynamics that you just soak up all the characters. If hockey romance is your thing they your sure to love the whole series. Very enjoyable!

Thoughts for the author? Congratulations on your new release! Five fantastic stars! Love the witty humor!

I received a copy from Netgalley and the thoughts here are just my opinions!

I LOVE the Wynn family and all their nuttiness. The more of this series I read the more, the more I fall in love. Game Changer is my favorite book out of this series to date.
Jax is a Wynn, however, he doesn’t want to play for either of his family’s teams. He wants to do this on his own. Molly is about to get married to a hockey player, until she reads some texts in the middle of the ceremony and walks out. Her and Jax are friends, even though her ex is his teammate, they are trivia partners. I love the easy-going vibe of their friendship. They have so much in common. They both push each other to open up and get out of their shells.
I loved how naturally their relationship progressed, how Jax’s family instantly bonded with Molly. Molly’s friends were also supportive of her choices. Jax is also super supportive when it comes to Molly. He can’t tell her no, you can feel how much he cares for her and just wants her to be happy.
Game Changer is steamy, sweet and full of Wynn family nuttiness. It can be read as a standalone, however, I highly recommend reading the rest of the series to get all the Wynn family drama. A MUST READ hockey romance!

I was excited to be back in the Wynn Hockey Series world and Game Changer was everything I expected and more, Game Changer is the fifth book in the series and it’s Jackson (Jax) Wynn and Molly Flynn’s story. Ms Jamieson really has a way with words, she gives you characters you can’t help falling in love with and she touches on everyday problems that we can all relate to which makes me feel like I’m catching up with old friends with every book I pick up in this series.
What do you do when you find out just before you walk down the aisle that your fiancée is cheating on you, hard decision, do you walk away, do you go through with the wedding and work it out later or do you walk down the aisle and shame him before making a run for it, well when a Molly finds herself in this predicament she calls on her friend Jax for help, problem is he is also her fiancée’s teammate. Jax knows helping Molly could come back to bite him in many ways but he does what any good friend would do and that’s help her escape but another problem is he is off to visit his family and really has no option but to take Molly along hoping in his heart that she can deal with the crazy world of hockey royalty the Wynn family.....
I love this family, they may be eccentric and unconventional but they are a family who loves with all their hearts and they welcome Molly with open arms. Great addition to one of my favourite hockey series, this is an entertaining read with wonderful characters, it’s well written and I can’t wait for more from the Wynn world.

After pulling a runaway-bride maneuver at her wedding, Molly was looking to get out of dodge. She begged and pleaded to tag along with Jax, and though he may have had second thoughts, he let her accompany him to California. He thought she could serve as a buffer between him and his family, but the more time he spent with her, the more he realized how special Molly was.

I loved the set up for this book. The wedding scene was fantastic, and I so wanted Jax and Molly to run away together. Their chemistry and connection was easy to see, from miles away, but I concede, it was a tricky situation.

I really enjoyed this book, but it felt quite different from the other Wynn books. I guess that makes sense, since Jax is the only Wynn, who lives away from the family, and plays for a non-Wynn team. It was just odd to spend so little time with the family. Though I must say, the time we spent with them was instrumental in helping Jax come to terms with a lot of his baggage.

Jax's outlook on love and marriage was shaded by his beliefs about what ended his parents union. He couldn't bring himself to believe in love, after watching his parents crash and burn. But, with encouragement from Molly, Jax opened up, and actually talked to his parents, learning the truth about what happened. Not only did Molly's advice help him understand and get an handle on his thoughts about love, it helped him mend a fence with another Wynn family member. Jax was also dealing with feeling he didn't measure up as a Wynn, and I think that made me cheer for him even louder. I always love an underdog. He really grew a lot as he spent time with Molly, and I was happy seeing him find some peace and clarity.

I know some may miss the hockey sequences, as this book takes place during the off season, but I was ok with it, since I had such a fantastic time with Jax and Molly during their trip. It got better and better with each day they spent together, and I was sad to see them have to leave the bubble. We all know, stuff gets real, when they leave the bubble. Needless to say, I was rooting for these two, when they returned to Chicago, because it was clear as day, that they belonged to one another.

This book had a bit of a different feel from the other Wynn books, but I absolutely loved it! Molly and Jax were a perfect pairing, and I had a grand time watching them chase their HEA.

We have finally arrived at Jax Wynn who is living his life in Chicago playing for the Aces away from his crazy hockey family in California. He’s getting ready to attend a friends and teammates wedding.

Molly has been with Steve for a few years and are on the verge of tying the knot when her world is torn apart thanks to text messages.

Needing to escape she turns to friend Jax to get out. Friends is what they have always been. But spending time together and learning she’s not the reason for her relationship falling apart they realize their friendship is more.

It’s a sweet story and a lot for Jax to handle his family’s changing drama. Weddings, relationships, and the past not being what he thought. But Molly is there for him. Things heat up but with a contract on the line and returning to Chicago to face real life. Will they still be friends?
