I loved this story and Molly was a champ! She had guts and that is so stinking hard. I appreciate how Jackson was friends with Molly and helped her escape from the reality for awhile. It is rarely pointed out that the communication can stem from childhood and really has to be work to talk and not keep everything in. I enjoyed this book and am so glad to have more Wynn family reunions every time.

Game Changer is a fantastic steamy romance, with a bride leaving her cheating fiancé, friends becoming lovers, and of course family and hockey. Each one of Kelly Jaimeson’s Wynn hockey novels gets better and better every book.

Molly finds out her fiancé is cheating on her the night before her wedding. She goes through with the wedding, but once she gets to her vows, she instead reads aloud texts between her fiancé and his girlfriend. After this show of strength and revenge, she convinces Jax, her fiancé’s hockey teammate, to help her escape for a while. She ends up accompanying Jax on his trip to visit his family in California. While in the past the two have simply shared a friendly love of bar trivia nights, now they become much closer.

While Molly feels like an idiot for not realizing her fiancé was cheating, over the course of the book she comes to realize that maybe they just weren’t as compatible as she’d originally thought. Getting left at the altar is a trope I enjoy, and it was fabulous this time. The best part is Molly telling off the groom in front of everyone calmly. Usually the bride just loses it and people annoyingly tell her to calm down, but this was sweet revenge that didn’t make her look weak.

Molly and Jax are awesome. I loved that trivia is their “thing,” it adds layers to both their characters. And, it is adorable that Molly is better at hanging out with the entire Wynn family than Jax. Her compassion for his grandfather’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis and his complicated family dynamics show Jax what a kind person she is. As always, it’s fun to see characters from earlier books. Don’t worry, this book works well as a stand alone and you don’t have to read the others in the series first.

Looking back, it’s a book about hockey without much actual playing of hockey. Instead, it focuses on the off season and offers more of a behind the scenes look at professional hockey, which worked well. I loved this return visit with the Wynn family, and can’t wait to read about them again soon.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I love reading Kelly Jamieson’s hockey stories. They are always fun to read and filled with entertaining characters and hot hockey players. This story is about Jax, he is a professional hockey player and all around nice guy and he comes from a hockey dynasty family. Jax loves his big, rambunctious family, but they have a lot of issues they are trying to work through.

Jax finds himself helping Molly when she discovers her fiancé is cheating on her. Jax and Molly have been friends for a while and they share a lot of the same interests.
As Molly and Jax spend time together, they have a hard time fighting their attraction to each other.

I enjoyed Jax and Molly’s story. They are easy to like and great together. Jax is sweet and helps Molly get over her feelings of inadequacy after she discovers her fiancé is cheating on her. Jax isn’t looking for a relationship but Molly slips into his life so easily, he finds it impossible to resist her. I loved catching up with the Wynn clan; they are a feisty bunch with lots of drama and they are always entertaining. I enjoyed this engaging story.

Jackson Wynn, professional hockey player and part of the famous Wynn hockey dynasty, hasn’t gone to visit his family in California in a while. His family is a bit crazy. He would rather just spend the summer at the family cottage in Manitoba, now that hockey season is over, which he will do after his trip to California. Jax found out his grandfather has Alzheimer’s and he needs to visit him. First he needs to attend the wedding of one of the Ace Hockey teammates. This is when all hell breaks loose. Molly Flynn, his trivia buddy and future wife of his teammate, Steve, just read a bunch of texts that she copied from her fiancé’s phone. Apparently Steve has been having an affair and Molly just found out and the church is stunned. After she runs out and hides from everyone in a room in the church, her bridesmaids are giving Steve hell for what he did. I go in search for her and thank goodness she lets me in. Now Molly asks me to please get her out of there and we end up in my apartment. Jax is freaking out about having Molly spend the night at his house. What if Steve finds out. He offers his place to hide out while he goes to California. To his surprise, Molly says she’s going with him. No matter what he says, she’s determined to join him.

Molly just wants to leave town after the disaster of her almost wedding. Going with her friend Jax is the best idea. While in California she meets his family and it turns out they all love her.

Jax at first was skeptical about having Molly with him, but it turns out that not only he has mended fences with them, but specially his father. They finally talked about the divorce, and the fact that Jax thought his Dad had cheated on his Mom. Turns out he was wrong about that. Feeling like this trip was a success, Jax asks Molly if she wants to go with him to Manitoba, since they had such a great time together.

Now that it’s just the two of them alone in the cottage, their attraction is undeniable. Both are trying so hard to stay away, until the night Jax took Molly to see the Northern Lights. Now they can’t keep their hands to themselves. Agreeing that this will stay in Canada and not follow them to Chicago. It would be too hard to keep a secret. However, feelings have a funny way of not staying away once you’re back home.

This is another fabulous hit for Kelly Jamieson! I have love reading every book in the Wynn family, that I feel I know them personally.

5 Star Review of For Game Charger (Wynn Hockey #5) by Kelly Jamieson

Game Changer is the fifth book in the Wynn Hockey and is Jackson (Jax) Wynn and Molly Flynn’s story. I enjoy Kelly Jamieson’s style of writing, her characters are strong and yet she shows that they can be human and not the “perfect” hero or heroine and this makes for a realistic and enjoyable read.

Where do I start? What do you do when you find out right before your wedding that your fiancee is cheating? That is the predicament that Molly finds herself in and when she turns to her fiancee’s team mate and her friend Jax for help, he really has no choice but to help her.

Jax does whatever he can to avoid the craziness that is is family and the last thing he should be contemplating is taking Molly with him to visit his family, however that is just what happens. The family dynamics of the Wynn family is convoluted, however you know that they love one another and will protect and have one another’s back at all times.

The chemistry between Jax and Molly sizzles and as the intensity grows you could feel the heat. I loved Jackson, he is totally swoon worthy, he made me laugh and smile and ticked the boxes for me. I also loved how Molly was welcomed into the Wynn family, they may be eccentric at times but when they love someone they embrace them wholeheartedly.

A well written romance which had me totally invested in the story that Ms.Jamieson wove and is my favourite to date.

Jax realizes he has fallen in love!

Molly Flynn surprised everyone when she stopped her wedding at the altar after finding out that her fiancé had cheated on her but when her trivia partner Jackson (Jax) Wynn offered to help her out, she took him up on the offer. Jax offered a place to stay but when she decided to go with him to California when he was visiting some of his family, Jax started get to know Molly even better than just his trivia partner. Molly helps Jax make his peace with his family after many years of estrangement and he started to realize maybe he had more feelings for Molly than just a friend.

Game Changer is the fifth book in the Wynn Hockey series but I’m hoping there is more but to the Wynn Hockey series but that is up to the author, but I will read anything that Kelly Jamieson writes because they are so good.

"Game Changer: A Wynn Hockey Novel" by Kelly Jamieson

My Speculation:

This was a rollercoaster ride for Jax and Molly, with her needing help in getting away from her problem. They start as friends, but one can see where this is going, especially with Jax not being able to say no to Molly. The read included Jax's family, which were quite interesting in how this story will all play out with all of the Wynn family drama. All in all, we get a good read that was somewhat humorous. Adorable and romantic. So, by the end, will you see a HEA or for two? Well, you will have to pick up 'Game Changer' to find out.

I received this book as an ARC from NetGallery, and the opinions are my own.

5 Wynning Stars!

Jackson Wynn prefers to stay out of all the family drama in California, as he plays hockey on the other side of the country for the Chicago Aces, that’s not hard to do. But when his grandfather is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, he decides that after his buddy’s wedding, he’ll spend some time with his family. He just never thought that he’d be taking the bride with him to California. When Molly finds out her fiancé Is cheating on her the night before their wedding, she decides to share the evidence with the wedding guests right before the nuptials. Then she panics and asks Jax to get her out of there and begs him to let her join him in California. Jax knows he shouldn’t, but he just can’t say no to her.

Another GREAT Wynn family story. I loved how Molly decided to share the details of her cheating fiancé ... that sure took lady balls! And Jax was her knight in shining armour doing everything she asked of him. I loved when the story went to Clear Lake! I’m from Manitoba and I’ve been to all those places! The Wigwam has great food! I love Ms Jamieson’s style of writing and I have really enjoyed this book ... and the whole series!

This was another fun book in the Wynn series. I liked how the other Wynn family members were tied in. Makes me miss hockey.

Game Changer is the fifth book in the Wynn Hockey series and this is great addition to the first four books.

Molly Flynn thought that her wedding day was going to be the happiest of her life, not a day that ended in absolute pandemonium. She was set to marry Steve, a hockey player for the Chicago Aces, however instead of saying her vows, she reads texts calling out her cheating fiance.

Jackson "Jax" Wynn, a teammate of Steve's and the trivia partner of Molly, has come to their wedding with plans to head out to California to deal with some family drama the following day. What he wasn't expecting is when he went to check on his friend Molly following the wedding being called off that he'd be letting her stay at his house that night so no one would find her. Least of all, he didn't expect to be talked into her going with him to California.

Needless to say, Jax isn't looking forward having to deal with his family and he tries to warn Molly about all of the different dynamics she's going to encounter while visiting the West Coast. She's all in for the trip and in all honesty she's excited. While these two have only been friends, will spending this time together in Cali and then additional time in Canada lead to more developing? Can they help each other through the things they are each dealing with and help one another heal?

I always enjoy Kelly Jamieson's books. The stories are always solid and these characters feel a bit like family to me these days as I'm so invested in all the goings on with them and I want everything to work out for everyone. What I also enjoy is that if you've read all the books you can't wait to find out what's next for the Wynn family, but if you're new to the series you can read the book without being lost at all. Another really enjoyable addition to the series!

Game Changer is the fifth book in the Wynn Hockey series, but the first that I've read. I believe that previous characters do appear in this book, but it's not in a way that it would affect your enjoyment of the book if you haven't read previous ones. It certainly didn't reduce my enjoyment not to have read them. The story starts with the wedding of Molly and Steve, or at least it should be their wedding. But, after Molly discovered that he'd been cheating on her the previous evening, she decides to read out the texts that he shared with the other woman and leaves him at the altar. Jax, Steve's teammate comes to her aid and helps her to escape from the wedding and go into hiding for a bit to get over what has happened. The more time that they spend together, the more obvious it becomes that really they belong together.
I'm never sure about romances where one of the characters moves on from another serious relationship so quickly, but in this case, the chemistry just worked. Jax and Molly were friends before all of this happened and he wasn't particularly close to Steve, Molly's ex. I really liked Jax and Molly and they worked really well together. Although this isn't really a friends to lovers story in the usual sense, it has elements of that, which is something that I always enjoy. It was also interesting to read about Jax's grandfather, who is suffering from Alzheimer's. It was both very sad and dealt with well.
This was a very enjoyable romance. If you're heavily into sports romances, then this might not completely hit the mark, as there was little of that side of things, despite Jax being a professional player. This book is set almost entirely on the offseason. It's not something that I particularly look for in a book though, so didn't matter to me.
I really enjoyed Game Changer and I'd be keen to read more in the Wynn Hockey series if I get the chance.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Molly and hockey star should have been the fairytale wedding of the year, instead it just might become one for the trivia books. Leaving the groom at the altar, Molly does the only thing see could at the moment, turn to her trivia buddy Jackson Wynn. I have to give it to Jax who is not only on the same team as Steve, he still manages to help out sweet Molly. Somehow he finds Molly his traveling companion for the summer and what appears to be a summer fling, just might turn into more.
I have thoroughly enjoyed The Wynn Family Hockey series and hope we see more of their stories. Kelly Jamieson definitely has written a winning series.

I loved this story so much!
Hands down the best book in this whole series! If you don’t fall in love with these characters, something is wrong with you! Jax and Molly are perfect for each other. This is a wonderful story about two friends who bond over friendship first and then love. Too bad neither realizes they are in love with the other one until much later in the story. BUT, that’s me getting ahead of myself.
We start this one off with Molly leaving her wedding (before getting married) and begging Jax (her friend and ex-fiancé’s teammate) to take her with him to visit his family in California. She just needs time away. Jax decides to let her come. And that’s the start of this friendship turning into more.

This one is part of a series, but can definitely be read on its own.
You’ll love this one!

As Garth Brooks says “sometimes Gods greatest gifts are unanswered prayers…” School teacher Molly dumps her cheating hockey player fiancé at the altar. He deserves it. She gets his teammate and her trivia partner Jax Wynn to help her bail. And thus begins our multilayered story.
Jax is a complicated mess. He doesn’t believe in long term relationships. He has a dysfunctional relationship with most of his family. And the team is taking their time offering him an acceptable new contract. And then there is his trivia partner and friend Molly.
Molly is hurt and angry. The night before her wedding she is sent screenshots proving the man she is about to marry is cheating on her and has no respect for her. Her friend Jax is there and she begs him to help a girl out.
What they didn’t expect is to grow closer over the summer. This friends to lovers tale is fun, steamy and unexpectedly sweet. This is an enjoyable escape. Though this is part of a series it can read as a standalone perfectly well.

Although Game Changer is the fifth book in the Wynn Hockey series you don't have to have read the other books in the series to enjoy this one. Although it does reference characters from both the Wynn series and the Chicago Aces series you can just pick this book up as a standalone story.

Jackson Wynn - Jax- has got to the end of the hockey season. Its looking like a tough off season period with a new contract to negotiate and some family problems back in California. Just before he heads out there to see the family he has a little matter of a wedding to attend. Team mate Steve is marrying his fiancee Molly Flynn.

Chaos ensues when Molly walks out of her own wedding after revealing that Steve hasn't been entirely truthful to the gathered crowd. Desperate for a way out she gets Jax to help her escape from the wedding venue. She's already moved all her stuff into Steve's condo so it leaves her with nowhere to go. Ever the gentleman he sets her up in his spare room but when he announces that he's off to California for a break she decides to tag along for some sunshine and a break from all the drama. She's not looking for anything but a friend. Everything is still too raw.

Game Changer is a fun romantic romp - and because its Kelly Jamieson there's enough heat to keep you interested!

Game Changer was hands down my favorite book in the Wynn Hockey series yet. It was Kelly Jamieson's writing at its best. What did I love about it? Well, everything.

To be more specific, I adored the entire scenario. The way Molly's wedding went down, to her hitching herself to Jax's vacation, to the way they fell in love. It was all so fun and cute. I think what really made it my favorite, though, was the bond between Molly and Jax. They were already trivia buddies and it was easy to see that they had always had a special connection and friendship. That connection made for some humorous situations as well as some sexy ones.

I also loved that there wasn't as much Wynn family drama in this book. It was simpler in that area, and it made it easier to spend more time on the actual relationship in the book. I hope if there are more books to come in this series, that they follow this trend.

I think the thing I loved about this book most was the epilogue. I don't think I've read one quite as perfect as that one in a while. It was utterly fabulous.

I guess if I had to complain about one thing it would be the cover. That guy doesn't scream Jax to me.

Three and a half stars.

Molly Flynn's wedding to NHL player Steve implodes big time when she is sent explicit texts between Steve and a mysterious woman just before their wedding. In desperation she turns to Steve's teammate Jackson Wynn, who is also her trivia mate, to get her out of there.

Jackson was just dropping in on Molly and Steve's wedding before reluctantly visiting his family and all its accompanying drama. His father cheated on his mother and Jackson has never really forgiven him for that. Then Jackson's grandfather married a much younger woman and fell out with Jackson's father and uncle over money. The entire family dynamic is one huge drama-llama and Jackson wants as little as possible to do with it, if his grandfather didn't have Alzheimer's he wouldn't even have bothered, the last thing he needs is absconding with his teammates fiance - that never bodes well for the team dynamics.

Molly and Jackson have only ever been buddies, drawn together by a mutual love of trivia but as they spend the summer together they find close proximity fosters attraction. Is this a secret summer fling? Is Jackson Molly's rebound guy? Or could this be something more?

I love Kelly Jamieson novels and after a string of disappointing reads this was like a breath of fresh air. A friends to lovers romance between a stoic hockey player and a wholesome teacher? Sign. Me. Up! However, I did feel it started to flag in the middle a bit, maybe there wasn't enough tension? Or, maybe a novel about a hockey player set in the summer off-season lacks the essential sporty element?

Anyway, after the brief lull in the middle I really liked the way this romance was resolved, there were some interesting ways of resolving the inevitable conflict which I found refreshing.

If you want a summer away from the city, relaxing by a lake in Manitoba, barbequing with friends then this is the novel for you.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I have fallen head over heels for the Wynn family! Each book I fall more in love with this crazy family but I loved seeing the lighter side of it all!

Though Jax feels deeply by everything that has happened he’s not directly involved but you can see the weight he carries! Molly dealing with her own emotions recognizes his pain and together they lean on one another as they spend time together as friends!

I loved seeing each one of these characters grow throughout the story! I love Jamieson’s ability to really flesh out her characters so that you get to know them on a deeper level! It’s the sweet tiny moments that really get the butterflies going and make those tender, off the chart sexy moments even more worth it!

I have to say Molly is definitely one of my fave Heroines in this series because shes just easy to love! She’s funny, determined and her witty personality just draws you in! Plus she’s a teacher so bonus points there!

A definite summer must read!

This reminded me a lot of the movie Friends with Benefits but with a sprinkle of hockey mixed in. This is not a bad thing, I like that movie. This was a sweet book and I really enjoyed the relationship between Molly and Jax and I am glad that Jax finally got around to communicating about his feelings. Not a bad way to spend a few hours.

I loved Jackson and Molly! The road to love for a bride who walked off in the middle of her wedding and a teammate of the groom’s wasn’t expected by anyone, including them. Their friendship started out as natural and not a manufactured set up, which was refreshing. It was nice catching up with other members of the Wynn family as Jackson came to terms with a lot of his assumptions about some family members were proven wrong with Molly’s insights. This was an easy read and hard to put down. It left me with a good feeling. I love authors who can make feel that way!
