Frankie comics is the result of what happens when a young couple adopt a cat they find on their doorstep. Honestly, I was expecting some sort of underlying plot thread at some point, but it’s actually a compilation of many amusing scenarios that entail from owning a cat. I felt a little dissatisfied with this, but that is more of a marketing issue- for what the book was, it was pretty funny. I’m not a cat owner myself, but I imagine some parts would’ve even more impactful if I were. My favourite thing about this comic has to be the way the cat, Frankie, was drawn. The expressions definitely added to the hilarity of the stories- also, she was just so cute!

Frankie Comics is a very heartwarming comic book about a kitty cat named Frankie and her two owners' daily life routines and mishaps. It is so wholesome seeing how Frankie is such an adorable adventurer in the norms of her life. I never heard of this webcomic before but after reading this little comic, I had to search where to read the rest of Frankie's adventure. It's way too cute to pass up.

I would totally recommend people who have cats and don't have cats because why not. It's a very fast pace book given that it is a comic.

I think any cat lover/owner will love this book. Although I don't have a cat myself I found a lot of it to be very relatable based on stories I've heard from cat owners. The art was cute and full of life, and each comic strip was packed with cute, relatable, and punny jokes. It's a fast paced read and overall enjoyable.

Frankie Comics is a collection of comics based on the day to day adventures of cat life by Rachel Dukes.

I loved the illustrations and style of the comic, very cute and minimalistic. I found myself smiling and chuckling througout. I grew up with cats and now have dogs so I can relate to all stories. The only con is it's not long enough!

At the end of the book there is some information for prospective cat owners which contains a lot of useful information.

I definitely recommend this book for all pet lovers!

Even though I'm a dog owner, I could completely relate to this.
Clearly the patterns of behaviour are very similar and I smiled and laughed while reading this.

Made me appreciate my dogs even more, and the unconditional love they give me every day.

A short but fun and adorable read.

Thank you to NetGalley for the eARC.

I really loved this storyline. It had me giggling and also relating to this story a lot because I own 4 cats. The artwork was so cute. This is well worth a read and gets a 5 star from me.

This was SO cute! I'm not a cat mom but I do have a dog. While he doesn't climb on tables and whatnot a lot of these situations still rang true for me! Animals are so attuned to their owners and it really shows. They have a playful side and a roughhousing side. I will never forget a few situations my dog got me in and will forever cry laughing at them. This book felt like the author was reminiscing about when she got her kitty and all the funny situations that came with that decision. I loved that the comics were in full color and the art style was clean and relaxing to look at/read through.

Ever had one of those stressful days where you just want a fluffy story to end the day on? I had one of those days, and wanted a light read to occupy me. I saw this little book, and boy did it deliver on the fluffiness and cuteness.

Not only was it cute, but it was funny, and lighthearted. It follows a couple’s everyday adventures with their new cat, Frankie, who is mischievous and loveable. It’s such an adorable read, with incredible and colourful art.

A collection of comics based on real life experiences of a kitten who is adopted by Mike and Rachel (who is the artist).

A cute and humorous collection of comics about what it is like to live with a cat. Rachel Dukes uses a fun style that is very engaging. The comics ring very true to anyone who has lived with a cat. I like that in the back of the book information on adopting a cat or supporting foundations that rescue cats is included. Recommended for cat lovers of all ages.

Notes on content: No language issues. No sexual content. There’s a scene where the cat walks in on someone using the toilet, but clothing obscures showing anything. No violence (except a few cat scratches).

If you have a cat, or love animals, then Rachel Dukes' Frankie Comics will be extremely relatable. Adorable Frankie shows up on their doorstop and even though they're allergic, Rachel has Frankie come in. What is supposed to be for 30 minutes (a short visit) turns into forever. Rachel's art is wonderfully expressive. These slice of life comics have titles for each collection. Some stories span two pages or more, some are told on a single page, and range from Frankie getting a bath to finding a backpack more comfortable to sleep on than their new bed. Very entertaining collection.

My first impression based on the cover: It’s cute and minimalistic!

Description: It’s an extraordinary journey of a Siamese cat who’s named Frankie that slept outside on the author’s front door until she brings the most remarkable changes in their (including the author’s boyfriend too) lives. It’s so hilarious, yet a perfect comic about a common cat’s (for some) behaviors and how they’re able to manage her in a gentle way. TBH, I freaking love cats among other domesticated animals and this comic reminds me of one of the grossest Japanese games called ‘Neko Atsume’. Finally, there’s a few of quick tips for aspiring ‘cat parents’, where the author gave us a handful of websites on where to find an adopt house for cats, including health management, suitable equipment, also how to be a volunteer for them.

Conclusion: TBH, Frankie just like my mother cat, where they’d shared a few of the traits!

It's been a while since I read a good cute comic like this! This comic tells the story of a cat named Frankie and how he and his owners came to love him and create memories with him.

“She can come in for a visit but she can not stay. We are not going to keep her.”

Those fateful words every soon-to-be cat owner utters when they first allow a cat into their homes and inevitably into their hearts. This is a very quickly-read book, in part due to the expansive margins and generously spaced panels. It makes this book easy on the eyes, even for a comic book. A child would find this a very inviting read, and think most of it entertaining, I believe. As an adult, I certainly think it is both. I would definitely feel comfortable gifting this book to the majority of my cat-owning friends and recommending it as a library read to my dog-owning ones.

“You know this is the opposite of helping, right?”

I don’t know how many times I’ve said that to a helpful cat. This slice-of-life graphic novel tells the story of a couple who definitely isn’t going to keep this cat they allow in. After all, Rachel is allergic. Nevertheless, with cheerful illustrations Dukes shows how quickly little Frankie becomes an essential part of their lives, even as she defies physics to avoid baths, trains her humans to understand her myriad vocalizations, and “helps” her human draw comics.

“I love you so much, you amazing weirdo.”

I particularly enjoyed the comics about Frankie’s many nicknames and the ones where Rachel either sings to or converses with the cat, because these are activities I also perform regularly with my cat. I also appreciated Frankie’s role in helping her owner, Rachel, deal with her sleep paralysis. Often the part cats play in assisting their humans with medical conditions is not discussed in comics made for general public consumption, and it is refreshing to see the help cats offer represented.

“You are a terrible dog.”

After the final panel is an informational section for new and prospective cat owners that contains a lot of really useful resources about researching shelters and similar services, getting cats neutered, breakaway collars, and more.

A couple found a cat at their door and they decide to adopt her, they name her Frankie. This is the diary of their adventure together as a family.

It's the cutest and most adorable comic I've ever read. As a cat lover myself I found this so relatable, funny and sweet. I love how the girl spoils and loves Frankie with all, her heart. It's funny to see her husband's reactions haha.
The drawings are really cute and colorful. I hope to read more of this author.
Recommended to everyone!

What a cute comic! This was a fun, straightforward collection about a real family and the goofball kitten who shows up at their door. I loved the bright color scheme and the expressions (human and feline!) were all spot-on. I know there are a lot of cat comics out there, but this one was just so relatable and sweet. You can really tell how much they love their cat, and Frankie has so much personality. I really hope my library can purchase this in the fall, but I'm going to start recommending the webcomic while we wait.
