Bolivar was a dinosaur. He was the last dinosaur....

A cute story of a dinosaur who is hiding in plain site. In the city of New York no one even notices that a dinosaur is living nextdoor, no one except for a little girl named Sybil. I guess everyone was just too busy or preoccupied with other things. But once he is finally seen everyone goes a little crazy.

People fear what they dont know or dont understand. This is a cute story of acceptance and friendship. The illustrations are also beautifully done. I also loved how this combined a childrens graphic novel with a picture book. While the story isnt complex this book is a monster in size and may not be a good pick for some young readers. Overall its a very pleasant book.

I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book is so fun and follows an adventurous young girl to finally catch a glimpse (and photograph) of her dinosaur neighbour! It is delightful and hilarious! I loved the mixture of classic children’s book text and the comic strip parts mixed together! It kept the book interesting for readers who need a bit of a challenge and is great for students transitioning from early picture books to more challenging and longer books!
The book's illustrations were also so fun! They had a unique style and were consistent throughout. I loved the use of tile-like drawings when exploring the music scene in the subways of NYC!

Uh, excuse me? Are you busy? Oh, are you too busy to notice that you are busy?? When was the last time you checked on to who your neighbour is? What, never!?
You better find out. It could be that he (or it) is a dinosaur. Well, Sybil has a dinosaur for a neighbour, and no one's ever been free enough to notice it.

DINOSAUR!!!??😱😱

Don't worry though. He is harmless, and he doesn't bite.

Sean Rubin's illustrations will take you to the New York city, its buzzing streets, the downtown and lively marketplaces, and a neighbourhood where lives Bolivar- the dinosaur.

Its New York- the city that provided a hiding place to Clark Kent. If Superman can do it, then Bolivar too has to try his luck at anonymity.
Its said that everyone's busy in New York, busy enough not to notice anyone. So how can they notice a dinosaur that walks in their city?

This dinosaur keeps to himself and is just like any other New Yorker- he eats beef sandwich, goes to park, enjoys art, loves to read books, goes to the supermarket, takes the subway, and also goes downtown to listen to music. And, voila. No body notices that he is not a human being.
How could they. They are all very, very busy.

And what's funny is that the Natural History Museum is going to hold an exhibition that will discuss how dinosaurs became extinct. Little do they know that a live dinosaur is going to crash the exhibition.

Will the New Yorkers find out about the last living dinosaur? What will they do when they find out? What will the innocent Bolivar do if he is chased? Will he hide? Will he flee?

Well, get your hands on this book to find out. The paperback edition is to be out on 6th September. The hardcopy and the kindle edition is already out for access.
