I received a copy of this story from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I have enjoyed every single Christina Lauren I've read to date so I expected nothing less from this one. And yet, they were still able to surprise me in the best way.
This one is different. Wishes have real power here. The light element of time travel to the story drew me right in and had me turning pages as fast as I could. It also made it impossible to predict what would happen next. I literally had NO IDEA and I loved that almost as much as the cast of characters! It kept me guessing until practically the very end.
I'm sure lots of people will say this but I can empathize with Mae. It's hard to be an adult, particularly in a group that always sees you as a kid. All any of us really want is to be happy but it can be tricky to figure that out, too. Fear of making the wrong choice stops a lot of people from making any choice and that's easy to identify with.
This group dynamic is fantastic. I would love to be part of something like this. Benny is delightful and I would love to spend hours talking to Aaron and Kyle. I have friends like Theo and Andrew. My friends have kids like Zach and Kennedy. It was all so realistic and relatable without being boring.
The steaminess has been dialed back a little on this one and I think that was a solid move. It would not have been as sweet had it been steamier. Christina Lauren managed to strike a great balance and I appreciate the skill it takes to do so. But the romance is there in full force!
This book has been like a good hug. I'm sure I'll revisit it around the holidays...and I'll happily tell everyone else to do the same!

This is a time loop romance. At first you're a little worried about things being super repetitive, but that fades fairly quickly. The main characters are adorable and real, the family and friends isolated in this cozy cabin for Christmas are funny and sweet. You can't help but wish you were a member of this crew. I'll recommend this one for all our romance fans. Heartwarming and satisfying.

An early Christmas present from Christina Lauren.
Maelyn (Mae) and her family have been vacationing at a cabin outside of Park City, Utah for about 30 years. The group consists of college friends and their children, both grown and young. Cabin weekends, especially the Christmas holiday, with this chosen family is all Mae looks forward to all year.
Maelyn had been crushing on Andrew since she was a teen, but has a drunken kiss and grope with his brother Theo the night before departing from the cabin. This embarrassment, along with an unsatisfying job and having to move back to live with her mother, shows us Mae is not living her best life. She is the fixer, the peace maker, and stuck in the “kid” role in this group dynamic. Then, on the last morning, the owners of the cabin make the announcement that they have to sell the cabin. This devastates Mae. She reflects on the car ride to the airport about the stagnation of her life, so she asks the universe “can you show me what will make me happy”. There is a crash, all goes black, and she is back on the plane at the beginning of this holiday trip. She begins a Groundhog Day type time travel loop.
Through these loops she is given the opportunity to make the changes she needs to bring about the life she wants. She can also alter and tweak the holiday traditions she has clung to so desperately through the years.
Mae becomes more authentic with each loop, thinking that if each loop doesn’t matter and the others won’t remember, she can be more herself, speak up and follow her dreams.
The epilogue is charming and this chosen family’s moments together are heartfelt and intimate, fitting for a group of people who have known each other for so long.
Thank you NetGalley and Gallery Books for the ARC

It is only June, but this Christmas romance was the feel good story I needed to read right now. The premise may seem a little weird, as Maelyn is reliving the same few days over again, after finding out that one of her favorite things in life is going to change. What ensues is a series of events that finds Maelyn discovering herself and trying to find out what will make her happy. I didn't mind the time travel in the book at all, but I know that may be off-putting to some people. Also, I thought this book had a great cast of characters, who all add something interesting to the story. Thid is a cute, quick read and would be great to read around the holidays.
Thanks to Gallery Books and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for a review.

I liked this book. Had I read the description of the book before reading it I probably wouldn’t have read it. I picked the book because I have enjoyed books by these authors before. In the story Mae gets the chance to redo some days on her Christmas family vacation and thus make aggressive decisions to ensure her happiness. I received an ARC from NetGalley and Gallery Books for my honest review.

A funny take on getting chance after chance to make things right! Maelyn made an epic Christmas mistake and when she thinks it’s behind her she wakes up only to have to repeat the day over again! There’s something she misses each day and it’s not until she can save more than her love life that she can finally move forward!
I love Christina Lauren and this is one Holiday book you don’t want to miss’

I LOVED this book. What a fun story line and amazing romance story. This book takes on the friends to lovers trope which is usually not my favorite but I loved it in this story.
Every year at Christmas a group of close family friends gathers together to celebrate the holidays. Each year its all about the same traditions until one day everything changes. Mae always goes to the cabin with her family and this year is feeling out of sorts because she hates her job and overall quality of life. Her crush Andrew is always there too but Mae is always too scared to say anything to him about her crush. On the way home Mae remembers being in a car crash but suddenly wakes up on the plane heading to the cabin, it seems as though she has gone back in time. She has a shot to do-over the cabin week multiple times. Time will progress when she takes out of the experience what she should. She not only finds herself but finds the confidence to tell her long time childhood crush her true feelings and it may just work out for her.

I like this more when I don't analyze it. When I think about it, the book falls apart for me a little - I normally love speculative fiction/fantasy romance/sliding doors/Groundhog Day stuff but that aspect of the plot didn't really work for me, the more I think about Mae/Andrew/Theo the less of a handle I have on them as people - but I enjoyed the vibe, I generally find this author's romances easy to read and settle into, and I mostly enjoyed it.
I just... when did Andrew realize he had feelings? Was Theo interested? If not, why did he act like he was? The book makes a big deal of how Mae is acting so different but we don't spend enough time with her before the time loop to really know her.

Full disclosure: I'm not a fan of Groundhog Day stories. But, I can't pass up reading anything the Christina Lauren duo publishes, and this is no exception. It's a great holiday treat that I'll probably re-read sometime between Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve this year. I adored the family dynamics and full on feel of a full house over the holidays. The traditions, bad cooking, records playing, and escaping into the cold for just a moment of peace from it all!
The Mae and Andrew dynamic is everything you'd expect from CL - the perfect amount of banter, sweetness, and angst. The sexy moments are downright sexy. But what I really loved was how he slowly revealed himself to have more game than you'd ever imagined at the introduction of the character. I mumbled "Oh." more than a few times.
I've given the book 4 stars simply because we didn't see enough of a storyline with Theo to really be invested in the mini triangle, which made the sequence in front of the holiday store hard to grasp. I didn't get why there were near-misses at that point, or what changed at the diner.
All-in-all, it's still another charming read by this author and totally worth digging into.

A perfect holiday romance!! I read this in June when it is hot and humid, yet I wanted to be wrapped up in a blanket by a fireplace reading this book! It is super cute fun read! Thank you Christina Lauren for writing light stories that take you away from the world!

This book was a little risky for me. While I love Christina Lauren I don’t necessarily like “groundhogs day” plots. I hate reading/watching the same thing over and over and just want to get to the damn point. Thankfully, it wasn’t annoying in this book! Each iteration of reality felt different enough so it wasn’t overly repetitive and the parts that did repeat were dealt with pretty swiftly or described slightly differently.
The first part of the book felt odd to me, like I was dropped into the plot without enough prior explanation but once I finally caught up to who everyone was and what was going on I really loved it! It’s quick reading, fairly lighthearted, and full of warm holiday feelings.

In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren is a delightful holiday romp, a yuletide Groundhog Day affair, a steamy cup of Christmas cheer. (See what I did there? Steamy? Sexy? Har har.)
Thank you Gallery Books and NetGalley for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Mae is a 26 year old in the throes of a quarter life crisis. Her job is a bust. She’s moved back in with her parents. And she’s been in love with the same guy since she was 13--and he has no clue. But this Christmas, everything is about to change. A car crash and a desperate wish to the universe send her back to the beginning of Christmas break, over and over again, as she tries desperately to figure out why she’s getting these extra chances to “fix” her life and find true happiness.
It’s corny and cheesy and a little silly, but in all the best ways. The writing duo that is Christina Lauren know how to write fun, witty banter AND sweet, steamy romance. In this, their latest book, they’ve created a loveable cast of characters. There are a LOT of characters--three families getting together over the holidays makes for a crowded cabin--but they work well together, their dynamic comfortable and familiar. And for Mae and Andrew, it’s a definite happy ever after, holiday sweaters optional.
If you’re looking for a warm, snuggly holiday read, I’d definitely suggest picking this one up. It’s like a Hallmark movie in a book. With some PG-13 mistletoe mischief. Because it’s CLo.
I give it a solid 4 stars and lots of peppermint Hershey kisses.

3.5-4 stars. Groundhog Day meets Christmas in this fun read from Christina Lauren. Maelyn Jones, unhappy with her life and unsure of what to do next, makes a wish that the universe would show her what would make her happy. By doing so, she is transported back to the days leading up to Christmas when her family and friends travel to their Christmas cabin retreat in Utah as they do every year. She must relive the events of the holiday over and over again until she finds the right path that will lead to her happiness.
This was a really sweet read and definitely gave me the warm, fuzzy feelings that Christmas always brings. There are a lot of characters in this book and it was tough to keep them all straight but I loved the dynamic that the three different families had with each other. The romance is a typical friends-to-lovers with a little bit of a love triangle thrown in. Would definitely recommend, especially to anyone who enjoys Hallmark Christmas movies.

I'm a huge fan of Christina Lauren books, so I had high expectations going into reading this book. And it definitely lived up to my expectations. I loved this book. It was wonderful from start to finish!

Guys, you are in for a treat!! Loved, loved, loved this one!! I was so excited that NetGalley accepted my ARC request as Christina Lauren is one of my all time favorites!! I’ve been reading CL’s books from day 1 and nobody does fun, witty banter like Christina Lauren ... or swoony, sweet romance! There are so many rom com’s out there right now it’s hard to know which ones will be for me. I love that I can always count on CL to deliver the perfect book! This one isn’t out until 10/6/2020 ... will be a perfect holiday read! Hoping my use of exclamation points has conveyed that this was 100% a 5 star review for me!

The Groundhog Day/time travel plot device was a change for these authors, but their fans should still be pleased with a new book. This was a light, fluffy, low angst romance for Christmas.

OKAY, I don't pass up a book from this duo so, I don't even bother reading the blurb these days. I'm super glad that I didn't with this one. I'm not sure that I'd have given it a chance had I known it had a groundhog day type plot. But, lucky me by the time I figured it out, I was already hooked. I absolutely adored it. The plot is unique and incredibly well written. It's a super fun read with low angst. It's exactly the kind of books that I've been reading these days. Don't pass up this holiday read, no matter the time of the year.

I was so excited to read In a Holidaze. I've really enjoyed books by these authors before, but sadly I was pretty disappointed. I'm giving the book book 2 stars. I honestly couldn't stand the first 35% or the last 20%.
As a whole, this book screamed YA to me. The very first 'conflict' of the make-out session was so immature, and the subsequent handling of it was annoyingly youthful. There was WAY too much introspection. I actually love character-driven books, but the amount of navel gazing in this one was over the top for the genre, especially considering how immature the MCs seemed. I did not understand the point of the groundhog day plot, and even more so, I did not understand why it abruptly ended? It was so odd! The family-friend relationships were saccharine, the scenes unbelievable. Right from the start there were way too many characters introduced and it all went downhill from there.
I'm sorry to give such a negative review but really this wasn't good at all.

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was by far my least favorite book by this author. It reads like a teenager love story with some ackward, raunchy scenes that have no place in a novel that retails a childhood like Christmas memory. Mae spends a traditional holiday with her family and friends where nothing changes except one night that keeps on repeating itself only now she gets a do over and changes the things she's always wanted to but never had the guts to do like declare her feelings to Andrew, her childhood crush.
While I loved the beautiful, holiday moments Mae shares, I felt her romantic redo with Andrew just seemed out of place. Their evolution from friends to lovers just felt forced and unnatural. Not my favorite novel.

I wasn't a huge fan of Christina Lauren's last two novels (they were about 3 star reads for me) but this one was PERFECT! For being the duo's first holiday novel, I'd say they did a wonderful job! I enjoyed it so much!! It reminded me of some of my past favorites of theirs and reminded me why I love their books so much!
Readers, this is THE book you should be reading during the holiday season. I kind of wished I'd left it for a holiday read for myself, but perhaps I'll re-read it again!
