I love Christina Lauren! In a Holidaze did not disappoint. It's Groundhog's Day, for romcoms. It's also a great, cozy love story to read over the holidays (or should I say Holidaze?) I recommend for adult romance and adult general collections.

*slight spoilers in review*

Thanks to @netgalley for the arc of In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren. I have read multiple books by this duo & although this one was not my favorite I’ve read, it still was a wonderful book.

I loved not only the main characters, but the background characters as well. Mandrew & Mae made me fall in love with them but also shake my head. I love the setting of the Christmas cabin as well.

I think the time jumping could have been a little bit better done, but still enjoyed and still worth reading.

I didn't love this one as much as I have other titles by Christina Lauren. The story overall idea was fine, but "day on repeat" plotline wasn't my favorite.
Maelyn Jones and her family and close family friends are all together again for their annual holiday gathering in the family cabin. Mae enjoys a bit too much eggnog one night and makes out with family friend Theo, younger brother of Andrew, the brother she secretly really wants to be with. She ends up in a time-loop reliving the first part of the vacation over and over in various ways. Will she make different decisions to get what she really wants?

OK OK, so we know I love a time loop story. I’m old enough to have watched Groundhog Day in theaters and was never bothered by the the repetitiveness, and love when someone has to piece together WTF to do to undo the loop.

When I realized Christina Lauren was releasing a time loop story, I was SUPER EXCITED. I immediately loved Maelyn, and found her to be refreshing and funny. The family cabin setting was delightful, rounded out with so many amazing family cast members, it really gave you a sense of what she would be missing. I’m also a sucker for a caught-between-two brothers storyline (still over here waiting for that curse to befall me IRL hahah), and this did not disappoint.

The only wish I had at the end, was that they leaned a little more into the time loop, maybe created a little more chaos and confusion to mix things up. That’s just a personal time-lop enjoyment level though and this is still the perfect book to pick up, especially at the start of the holidays so you can really appreciate your (hopefully?) non-Groundhog holiday season.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I think Christmas romance books are fun. I'm want to read feel-good books at Christmas time, and In a Holidaze was just right.

Another thoughtful, playful and enjoyable hit for Christina Lauren. A good read for late Fall. Ground Hogs Day feel. Main character was very relatable. Give it a go!

Let’s just call In A Holidaze my most anticipated Christmas book for the year okay? I have seen so many mixed reviews for this one, but I really loved it. I thought the flashbacks to holiday memories were cute and I was excited to see how the Groundhog Day effect would play out in the end.

CLo I loved the authors note at the end, and this truly was released at the perfect time in a most challenging year, so thank you for giving your fans such a treat. (Hoping for more holiday reads in the future)

I love everything they write! This book is such a fun holiday read. This was a really cute rendition of a groundhogs day scenario. Definitely not like there usual books but I like when authors take a chance and do different books!

I have tried to get into this book several times. I just can’t. It is probably a me thing. Next time I want to read a Christina Lauren, I will pick up a different book.

This book took me a little bit to get into. Mae finds herself reliving her Christmas holiday over and over again and she isn't exactly sure why. Each time she resets, she has some type of trauma like being in a car crash. The whiplash of time traveling, definitely took me a while to get into this book. The time traveling part, never really seem to be concluded at the end. It seem to just be loose strings for how this love story came to be.

However, I did love when Mae suddenly had the realization that she needed to live for herself and no one else. Could that have been done without time traveling? Maybe? This book obviously had traditional Christmas elements. I loved the part where they were under the Christmas tree looking up at all the lights. There is something magical about Christmas lights.

The idea behind In a Holidaze is cute. Having the opportunity to reset until you end up with the one that you are suppose to fall in love with. I just felt it the time traveling aspect was left in the air for the final one. She never went back again and it just did not feel concluded.

I am a huge Christina Lauren fan and overall, I love their books. This one just is not one of my favorites of theirs.

I was really hoping that I would fall in love with this book. I love most of what Lauren writes, however, I felt like this was just not competitive to what she always writes. Although it was good I wanted more!

3.75 A cute, Groundhog Day-eqsue romcom. It was awesome reading a book set in the state I am in and am somewhat familiar with. I enjoyed my time reading this one as a whole. (As a sidenote, the artistic gift the main character gives another character towards the end. I found that to be a tad creepy and totally threw me off the relationship. I'm surprised the guy was into it.)

i enjoyed this but it just didn't leave a memorable impression on me where i am really struggling to find the words to review this two years later. but i appreciate you and everything this author duo does always.

Overall, I enjoyed it and found it entertaining, especially all the holiday festivities and family interactions. The romance felt a bit rushed though. And there was no proper conclusion or explanation behind the whole Groundhog’s Day concept so I felt a bit cheated and confused by the end. However, I did finish so it at least held my attention.

I was drawn to the Goundhog Day premise where the Mae keeps reliving the same week at Utah cabin her family and their friends rent every Christmas/New Years. The first half was pretty great, but the whole repeating the day trope just fell to the wayside. That took me out of the story when the major plot line was abandoned. It was a quick read and I might recommend to any friends who are looking for something fluffy to read during the holidays.

I was looking for a fun quick read and after reading Unhoneymooners a while back and loving it, by this duo, I just knew I was gonna love this as well but sadly I almost DNFed it because I was quite bored with it. It's only been a few days since I finished and already am having a hard time remembering much about it. It just wasn't a very memorable story.

I tried, I really did. I’m so sorry to say but In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren was not it. It took me a while and a couple put downs and pick back ups to even get into it. Because I don't like to DNF books I pushed through. I'm grateful for the advanced copy and usually like this Author but ever since they moved away from the sultriness of the Beautiful Series I just can't read anymore.

It's a fun take on a holiday romance and I enjoyed it. It's sweet, funny and predictable which is what you want in a holiday romance. I would recommend this to all my patrons that just want an easy read doesn't want the same small town holiday book, this book has a bit of sci-fi time loop but doesn't interfere with why we are reading the book in the first place- get me to the romance.
