I couldn’t finish this book. Between the constant and confusing switching of narrators (and I usually enjoy multiple narrators but it was set up in such a strange way) to basically reading a killer’s manifesto every couple of chapters...I just couldn’t do it. Not my cup of tea.

The Divided Twin is the follow-up to M. Billiter's A Divided Mind (another great read). This book follows Aaron and Branson as they navigate their last year of college and their moms cancer diagnosis. Full of heartfelt emotion throughout and heartbreak at the end. You won't soon forget this one!

There's so much dialogue. So much telling. So little showing. I could probably get past the slowness of the plot if it weren't for the writing. It's just not well done. I see the story lying beneath it, but it's buried under the most inane conversations... typically, between our one of our two main characters and whatever side character is placed in front of them to develop story. To make it worse, the conversational turns are often very forced, clunky, and expositional. There lacks a genuine feel to the character interactions.

There's potential if writing style improved. I can see where this is going. It seems interesting, and I'm sure the building blocks of the novel are engaging. The bones of it are there, but the meat of it aren't done very well. It definitely takes me out of the story.
