I adored this book! The progression of the series has left me thrilled, and I've been eagerly awaiting this installment for what felt like an eternity. Although I thoroughly enjoyed the previous two books, I had some reservations after seeing the preview in the second book and reading the description of this one. However, once again, Trentham has exceeded my expectations, and I found myself staying up all night engrossed in this delightful story. I still remember when I first met Holt in the initial book, "A Highlander Walks into a Bar," and instantly knew he deserved his own captivating tale. I am overjoyed with the result and cannot emphasize enough how fantastic this book is. I wholeheartedly recommend the entire series to anyone seeking a heartwarming and charming experience. The Highland, Georgia series encompasses all the emotions and is incredibly endearing. The interactions between the characters are beautifully crafted, and who doesn't love a satisfying happy ending? I also suggest reading the stories in order to fully appreciate the way each book builds upon the others, with references to past events and characters that add depth to the overall narrative.

Cute story. Guy is running from responsibilities girl is running from things she doesnt want to share. Of course fate has another idea and they are thrown together. Overall though it is a typical boy meets girls romance it was good.

I really enjoyed Trentham's Heart of a Hero series, so I was excited to start reading her holiday romance A Highlander is Coming to Town. This is the third book in the series set in a small fictional town in Georgia but works as a standalone. Characters from the previous books do show up here, but the main focus is on Claire and Holt. Claire is in hiding after her decision to leave her rock band. Working with an elderly lady as an in home caregiver, Claire is trying to figure out what is next for her life before she faces her family. Holt is left to take care of his family's farm over the holidays whether he wants to or not.

I liked Claire and Holt individually, however where I struggled was their budding romance. It fell flat for me, seeming rushed and forced. Claire had little interest in Holt, yet he continued to seek her out. He seemed overly obsessed at times. This left me disinterested in the plot or even the characters who I did like.

With so many books to choose from, it was time to move on from this one.

This story was cute, but it did fall a bit flat for me in terms of characters. I think it read as a novella, yet it was a whole romance story. Our main characters live in a small town (love this trope), they are neighbors and the hero starts trying to date our MC. However, she has a big secret that she is actually very rich and is supposed to go back home when she turns 25 to continue her family's legacy. However, she wanted to do music instead. Whole lot of family drama, that wasn't really a big deal specially with how it was handled when it all does blow up. I feel like we were getting so much momentum for that *moment* and then it fell kind of flat.

The romance was a little meh for me. I didn't really fall for the storyline and how they were falling in love with each other. There is some cute scenes that make up for the somewhat unexciting storyline.

I thought it was nice and sweet story. Claire who is running away from her responsibilities in Scotland has been singing around the US and landed in Highland, Georgia and decided to stay. Holt is running his family farm and a true southern boy through and through. Claire is used to folks approaching her because of her family's fortune, but since she uses an alias and doesn't talk about family has stayed under the radar. Holt is definitely interested, but wonders about Claire's non-answers. She snaps back with what could be rude comebacks that Holt doesn't take offense to. Things get hot and heavy and confusing until they figure it out.

This was such a cute series! This book can be read as a stand alone. I am a sucker for Christmas romances. I love Christmas time! This book was just perfect. Claire and Holt had such a sweet story! If you like small town romance this book is just for you!

A Highlander is Coming to Town is a light-hearted romance. It is the third book in the series, but can be read as a standalone.

The book centers around Claire and Holt. Claire is a Scottish woman who finds herself in Highland, Georgia. This seems like the perfect place to hide and not have to deal with her family and personal problems. She ends up meeting Holt. He is a charming and loyal man who is working at his parent's farm. They are both struggling with identity and seeking out answers to questions about themselves. This may be what continues to draw them towards one another.

I liked the romance and setting of the story. It is sweet and charming which made it easy to read. I give A Highlander is Coming to Town 3 stars. I think this is great for readers who enjoy 'Hallmark'!

New to me author but definitely won't be last. Thoroughly enjoyed this story. Thanks Netgalley and to the publisher for letting me read this advance copy.

A Highlander is Coming to Town sounded like a cute small-town romance - and a timely one at that (it's set during Christmas). With a farmer and a Scottish singer with a past, what's not to love? This should have been an easy, quick read...and it was, just not exactly all that enjoyable. It read very juvenile, more like a debut novel; at 6% in, the two main characters had already coincidentally run into each other three times. I'm not a huge romance reader, but even I noticed this book was basically a checklist of trope after trope.

An absolutely entertaining read, it captivated me from the beginning.
I haven't read the previous stories but there is time to rectify that problem
This is a light hearted romantic comedy set in the Christmas period. The characters were fun and engaging even through the angst.
Who doesn't want to visit the highlands of Scotland after this story that brought it to life.

“Holt Pierson is dreading Christmas. His parents absconded to Florida for the season and left him to handle the family farm which will be his one day--whether he wants it or not. Driven by duty, Holt has always followed the path expected of him. But lately, he's been questioning what he wants and where he belongs. Will assuming the responsibility of the Pierson farm make him happy or is there something--or someone--else out in the wider world calling to him?
To Claire Smythe, the Scottish lead singer of a touring band, Highland, Georgia, is the perfect place to hide . . .until a very handsome and deeply curious Holt begins to ask all the questions Claire doesn't want to answer. As Holt draws Claire out from under and into the fabric of small-town life, can Claire put the past behind her and embrace the unexpected gifts of the season--including the new and lasting love?”

My views :cute romantic story, a native guy and an outsider girl holding on to the past. Nice weekend read, liked it.

This is book 3 of the Highland, Georgia series. Holt is not looking forward to Christmas or taking over the family business, but here he is, it's Christmas time and he is running the family business while his parents are in Florida. escaping from her life for a while is Claire, the lead singer of a band. She is hiding out for the holiday. Can they bring out the best in each other, or will the holiday get worse for each of them?

I reviewed this episode for my romance novel review podcast, Boobies & Noobies. This was the perfect pick for our annual holiday special, The 12 Days of Boobsmas!

I hadn't read the previous books in the series and in hindsight, I wish I had (just to know more of the secondary characters a little bit better). It's not the steamiest read, but the Scottish festivities in the small town setting make for a lot of holiday fun. Plus, Holt Pierson (the hero) is one hell of a book boyfriend!

Claire took a caretaker job in Highland, GA after quitting her singing lead in the Scottish band. Holt helps Claire with a flat bicycle tire and the two find their attraction growing the more time they spend together.

4.5 Stars: I have enjoyed the first two books in the Highland, Georgia series, and this one did not disappoint. The Highlander in this story happens to be a woman. Claire Smythe is the Scottish lead singer of a touring band, but when they perform in Highland Georgia, she decides it is a place she wants to stay and hide in, until she turns 25 and receives her inheritance. She takes a job as a live-in carer of a reclusive retired teacher. She meets up with her neighbour, Holt Pierson, when her bicycle gets a flat on her way back from the market. They hit it off, and even though she is warned to steer clear of the handsome farmer, it is easier said than done. But Claire has a huge secret, and she can't drag Holt into her family problems. Will she stay in Highland and begin a new life with Holt, or will she head home to Scotland to take her place in the family business?

This the third book in this series by Laura Trentham but it can be read as a stand-alone. I recommend you read them all, because this is such a fun and enjoyable series. Both Claire and Holt are at a crossroads in their lives. Holt has taken over running the family farm as his parents have retired and are traveling. He is not looking forward to the upcoming holiday season being alone. When he meets Claire, it doesn't take long to realize that they get along and enjoy one another's company. I loved Ms. Meadows. She needs help, but has been so self sufficient over the years, she has a hard time accepting it. She is a bit grumpy, but as the story progresses, you see a woman who is having a tough time aging gracefully. I love the relationship she eventually develops with Claire. As Holt and Claire do some self-reflection, they begin to realize what they really want out of life. Their relationship isn't easy, with secrets getting in the way, but they eventually make decisions for their own happiness. There are a couple of descriptive sex scenes, but they move the story along and you can skim them if you don't like reading those scenes. This was another good addition to this series, that I enjoyed, even if it wasn't as Christmassy as I had hoped.

Another Highlander finds a home, in a different Highland than you would expect, but one that certainly embodies the spirit of the Scots through and through. This series set in Highland, Georgia, has provided some laughs and groans this past year as two other couples have found love and redemption in their lives. Holt Pierson has watch two of his best friends find love with big Scotsman that landed in their small town and he has never felt more lonely. When he runs into Claire, in a seriously low moment in her life, he wants nothing more than to offer to help her, despite her prickliness and obvious reluctance to take help from anyone. Claire has temporarily settled in to the small southern town in order to come to some serious conclusion about choices she needs to make for her future. She doesn’t want to form connections or fall in love, but the more Holt pushes his gentlemanly assistance on her, the more deeply she begins to fall for his good-ole-boy charms. Holt and Claire are soon wrapped up in one another and the secrets begin to come to light for them both, but Holt is determined to fight for her love and to keep her with him, if only she accepts him. I enjoyed this story very much, with Holt exhibiting all of my favorite southern gentlemanly traits and I loved seeing him as he found a way to work through the sadness he was dealing with my helping others. He was obviously in need of a good woman to show him that sometimes all we need is a tiny connection to another person to hold onto. Claire was an enigma and a little bit of a hedgehog through most of the story, biting back at those around her when they got to close, but she slowly began to show her soft underbelly and the woman underneath was truly a great person. Together the two of them will definitely be a strong and loving force of good in the world. The sweetness of the heat between them was a banked fire that made me think the fire will burn forever, with flares of passion at all the right times to keep things from getting too boring, of course. I am not sure if this series will continue, I think it might have ended here, but either way I enjoyed these three stories and I look forward to more by this author.

This was a cute romance, not usually my style of romance but I liked it. It’s an easy escapist read for a cold afternoon.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I read this series out of order and I think that was my mistake. I liked the idea of this story but I don't think I was as into the book as I hoped. DNF for now, I may reread after I read the first two books.

Anything Laura Trentham writes is amazing! Her books always make you wanting more. Her stories are so engaging and her characters are so in depth. Just love her books!

If you've read the previous books in the series, you probably wondered (like I did) what happened with Claire. This is a holiday book, and allows us to revisit the characters from the previous books. There's also a lovely subplot with two older adults, which may be particularly appealing to some readers.
