A romance you never get tired of reading. If I need a break from real life I can always find escape in a cozy romance. The Christmas Swap filled my reading needs. Not a great work of art, but just what I needed an escape from the real world.

An enjoyable Christmas story. Liked the main characters. Conflict seemed a little forced. Overall, a nice quick feel good story. * I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

When Emma is invited to go for a Christmas vacation with her friend Gillian she goes to keep the peace and to experience her first snowy Christmas. Gillian's family have agreed a house swap with a family from Colorado.
West, who owns the property in Colorado, and is a famous song writer, finds himself in the midst of this family party while his family are having Christmas in Phoenix.
West gives Emma some skiing lessons and develops feelings for her.
The story is pleasant enough but lacks any great spark or gripping story.

The Christmas Swap was a nice break. It was just want you would expect in a cozy winter read. Sort of reminded me of a Hallmark movie! If that's you type, this book is for you.

Lovely feel good seasonal book. It was just lovely. Romantic book you dream about a Christmas swap. Great plot and characters. Perfect for reading over the festive period. Or at any time if the year. Christmas books can be enjoyed anytime anywhere. Very well written and flowed well.

I look forward to Melody Carlson's Christmas book each year. This was a short and sweet romance that had some secrets, some not so nice friends, skiing, and Christmas. Emma Daley has never seen a white Christmas, so when her friend's family invite her to go with them to Breckenridge, Colorado for a house swap she is ready. She is loving the snow and the small town, but her friend and her mother, both entitled and rather snooty, are not happy with anything. Emma meets the caretaker of the house and they become friends. As it turns out, he is not the caretaker, but the owner of the house, a well-known songwriter. Things do not go well when that secret is revealed. Emma and West (Tyler/TW) are great characters. They are both very down to earth and caring. I was rooting for them to work things out. I enjoyed reading about the fun they had and their adventures. This was an inspirational, new beginnings uplifting story that was a perfect afternoon read.

This was a good, cute, and predictable read. It’s perfect for anyone looking for a light and happy Christmas book. Tyler seems too good to be true, but I loved him. Emma and Tyler develop a great relationship, I only wish I could have read more! It felt very short. I also wasn’t a fan of the tired classism comments and jokes, nor the manipulation and misunderstandings. It made for annoying conflict. There also wasn’t much depth to the side characters, and I’m a huge fan of character-driven stories. Besides the protagonists, I couldn’t bring myself to care about the others. I liked this book, though.

The Holiday Swop felt like a made for tv Christmas movie and I loved it! It has romance, a little love rivalry and Christmas- perfect! This book gave you all the Christmas “feels”, was fun to read and felt it was over too soon- a feel-good read!

The Christmas Shop by Melody Carlson

This was another heart-warming cozy. It takes place in Arizona and Colorado. The families swap homes in order to have a different holiday vacation. Many emotions come to surface and we can read how the characters react to them.

Thanks to Net Galley for sending an advanced reader’s copy to me for review..

The Christmas Swap by Melody Carlson is a sweet fun read and it’s just in time for the holidays! I read it in just a couple of hours and enjoyed it! It’s about Emma and West, who meet in an unexpected way. Emma is the guest of Gillian and her family when they swap houses at Christmas. They end up at West’s home. West is supposed to be in Arizona at Gillian’s home with his family but forgot something. When he returns to his place and meets Emma, he decided to stick around. The problem is, West is a songwriter for a popular musician and doesn’t want anyone to know who he is. When Gillian finds out, things get a little messy. Can West and Emma figure things out and enjoy Christmas after all? The book was fun. It was a sweet read and I enjoyed it.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read it. All opinions are my own.

Another great Christmas novella from this wonderful author. Full of beautiful descriptions and likeable characters. The perfect read for a cold winter evening x

With Christmas just days away, Emma finds herself in Colorado with her best friend's (rich and snobby) family participating in a house swap for the holidays. There, she meets West who is supposed to be flying to Arizona but is love-struck by Emma and keeps making excuses to his family as to why he can't meet up with them. But West is harboring a secret. Emma thinks he's the house's caretaker. Not the popular songwriter TW. Prescott.

After much meddling by Emma's best friend, Gillian, Emma and West question their budding romance and have to find a way to come together again.

Overall, the story was cute but it was short and I would have loved some more detail about the characters. Especially Gillian's family who seemed absolutely rotten and really never redeemed themselves.

This was such a cute little read! It isn't deep or heavy; what you see is what you get. But with the state of the world right now, that feels like a beautiful thing. This book is fluffy and enjoyable!

There were a few characters that I didn't like. Though I imagine that was the intent, it was almost too well done. I disliked one of the characters so much that I almost hated seeing her on the page. But I really liked Emma and West. I would have loved to have more time with them, to see their development and really let them build. I wanted more of them.

Overall, The Christmas Swap reads like a Hallmark movie, so if you're looking for a quick, cute read, this is the ticket.

I truly loved this book!. The storyline was engrossing, with unique characters all with their own unique quirks.
Throw into the mix a ton of festive feels and the perfect underlying romance, it is a definite festive must read!.

This is my first book from this author and I wasn't disappointed!
It was very easy to read, the main characters were likeable - literally my only complaint is that it was so short which I didn't realise when I started to read this book!
If you like romantic, Christmassy books then you will love this book :)

I am a fan of Melody Carlson and this book did not disappoint. Fast paced, great storyline and great characters. It takes place in Breckenridge, CO. I have personally been to Colorado, but never to Breckenridge. The descriptions of the scenery were on point and makes you want to visit this little snow skiing town soon!

All of the characters are fun and engaging. The background is relevant and takes the story to the next level. It makes you want to strap on some skies and hit the slopes. This is a quick read and a great Christmas story. Enjoy!

I enjoyed this christmas romance. I could see where the story was going but I really liked the characters, the setting, the skiing and most of all the writing style. A great read. Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me review this book.

This was a short, but sweet, story that is the perfect read to get you into the Christmas mood! The "Christmas house swap" idea is definitely an over written idea, but I still enjoyed this story, nonetheless. I enjoyed the ski setting in Colorado, and even though I've never been skiing a day in my life, this book made me want to go skiing! I ended up reading this in one sitting because I didn't want it to end. I did find the ending to be a little rushed for my liking, however. All in all, it was a great read!
