Total Shocker! Whoa! What a ride, my heart is pounding! I have never read this author, but that will change after reading this very believable book. I don't like the ending, not at all, however, you do fill anguish, anger, and angst during this gritty tale. I can easily see it made into a movie! Three fourteen year old girls make the worst decision of their young lives, twenty years later it comes home to roost! It is June already, this will only be the fourth book this year to make my top twenty list of 2020!
I highly recommend! Thank you Netgalley!

Their Last Secret by Rick Mofina was a brilliant read. I didn't want this book to end. I also did not want the book to end the way it did, but life is not always wrapped up in a neat bow.

Their Last Secret kept me hooked from beginning to end and had a hard time putting it down. The characters were believable and interesting. They felt real, and their actions and reasonings were credible. I liked Kayla and her determination to find out what was going on and the conflict within herself about trusting Emma. I also liked Kayla's dog, Tug, a sweet boy!

The plot had so many twists and turns that made the story exciting, but the author did the twists in a way that was easy to follow. I loved the way the story had me guessing and trying to figure out what would come next and who was involved and why. The author's writing style flowed well and was descriptive and engaging. The story moved at a fast pace, and Rick Mofina crafted a heart-pounding and, at times, heart-stopping book.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a solid thriller, believable characters, and a book that keeps you on your toes while you try to figure out the mystery.

This was a suspenseful read but one that just didn’t keep my attention. I’m not sure why...I just found it hard to follow and not extremely intriguing nor interesting.
So the plot is about three 14 year old girls that become blood sisters and call themselves the Skull Sisters. Things get out of hand one night and they commit a horrendous crime. The story then picks up 20 years later.
I would like to reread Their Last Secret at a later time and see if I was just having a off day when reading this book.
Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book for my honest opinion.

5 stars plus!!!

I could not put the latest Rick Mofina book down!!

Three girls around the age 14 in the small town of Eternity Manitoba make a scared pack together and become the Skull sisters .

Then they are involved in a horrific crime. Its beyond words!

So many lives are forever changed.

Now its 20 years later and Emma is out to protect her secret, we know that wont go so well! Yet I found myself cheering Emma on.

That is all I am saying. I don't want to give anything away ; its so tempting to do so!

The pages fly by so quickly you just have to get the end.

This is my favourite Rick Mofina book to date: until the next one !!

Thanks to NetGalley and Harelquin Trade Publishing, (US and Canada) , Mira books for a read I got lost in !!

Now twenty years later, with new identities, Janie thinks that her past will never catch up with her, until a day she finds a note on her windshield and her peace is shattered. She is happily married with a step daughter who seems to know that her step mom is hiding some secret.

“Their Last Secret”—Rick Mofina [4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️] This was my first book by this author and I definitely enjoyed this suspenseful storyline. Three teenage girls make a pact to become the “Skull Sisters” and to always protect each other no matter what, but when a horrific crime occurs in this small town, everyone is shaken up. Fast forward twenty years later, school counselor Emma Grant tried to keep her past buried—she has a successful career, a loving husband, Ben, who is a famous true-crime author, and a step-daughter, Kayla. Emma discovers a note which threatens to reveal her secret and it’s hard to put up this facade, but she wants to protect her family from the truth. When Ben seeks inspiration for his new book involving a horrific crime that happened in Canada twenty years ago, little by little Emma’s world is starting to fall apart, and Ben and Kayla start to think Emma isn’t who she says she is. This book was a fast paced suspenseful thriller and I definitely recommend checking it out when it’s released on July 28th! 👍🏼 *Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for providing a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review* 📚

Can you really escape your past? Or will your mind always take you back, thinking of ways you could have changed the outcome? Janie, Marie, and Nikki , close friends, grew up poor and envied the people who were not. They felt cheated and felt that their wealthy neighbors treated them as unworthy. One night they planned to right this wrong . That night turned tragic and changed their lives forever. After that night they vowed to stick together no matter what. Twenty years later all three friends have new identities. Has the past caught up with them? What really happened that night? A thrilling read with many twists and turns.

Some mistakes are never forgiven. And actions have consequences. Some times those consequences are a long time coming, but they're coming. Never doubt it.

Sometimes we do things as kids, not realizing the circumstances we are setting into motion. Emma is a school counselor with a past she needs to keep buried, but a note on her windshield makes it clear that her secrets are about to come to light. Her own family, her stepdaughter and husband sense something is wrong. And when her husband begins researching his new book, a true crime thriller about a case never closed, Emma feels the noose tightening
