This book contains four stories by four different authors. These stories are not connected to each other. Each of these stories are easy to read. I loved reading all of them they did not disappoint. I found myself reading faster to see what was going to happen next. That is how wonderful these stories are. |
There is something extra special about Christmas books and that this one has four novella length Amish stories by my favorite authors is a bonus. I'll admit to reading Christmas books not just at Christmas time but all year for that warm fuzzy feeling they bring me. They are a warm hug with a cup of hot cocoa kind of book that I can't get enough of. An Amish Christmas Wedding is such a fun and clean romance story, a fast read for me. Pub Date: 06 Oct 2020 I was given a complimentary copy of this book. Thank you. All opinions expressed are my own. |

This is a wonderful collection of Amish Christmas stories. Evergreen Love is my favorite story. Ryan and Lorene haven't seen much of either other since their engagement was broken. This is a sweet second chance romance. Holiday of Hope is not only a sweet romance but a start of a new family when Henry starts to raise his deceased best friend's son with the help of the new school teacher. Wreathed in Joy is a nice Christmas story of former best friends' chance at romance. I loved A Christmas Prayer which portrays a sweet romance between an older couple. I enjoyed reading all of these stories. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. |

This is a delightful book that shares four different Amish stories by some of the popular Amish writers. The book starts out with a nice detailed listing of Amish terms and words that you might not be familiar with that will help you understand the stories. These are classic love stories but just with an Amish flare. The first story, Evergreen is a tale of two young Amish that were promised to each other but the groom ran off but they are forced to face each other several years down the road at their siblings wedding. Will the sparks fly? The second story, Holiday of Hope, takes place in Montana which is a different location from most Amish stories. When a confirmed bachelor becomes the guardian of a young boy his world is turned upside down. He has a meeting with the young boy's teacher. It might not have been the easiest of teacher conferences. Where will this lead for these two single adults? The third story, Wreathed in Joy, ask the question can two good friends date? Mary and Jakob have been good friends most of their lives. Friends say why not date? And unfortunate accident leads Jakob to help out Mary and she has second thought about their relationship. There's always a widower story in Amish tales. It's the fourth story, A Christmas Prayer. In this story it isn't orphaned children that bring the widower and young woman together but a hurt dog. Will the dog help them find love with each other? If you enjoy reading stories about the Amish these are some stories that you will enjoy reading during the holidays. |
This is a group of four Amish romance novellas that are from four of my favorite authors. These are each based around Christmas and weddings. I did not want to put this book down. As soon as I finished one novella I started the next one. Each novella had great characters. It is always fun to see how each writer shows a slightly different view of how each Amish community is viewed. If you enjoy reading about Christmas and Amish you will love these stories. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will. |
Four top authors of Amish fiction join together to create An Amish Christmas Wedding. Each story stands alone - they're not connected in any way except the season - but each has the joy of falling in love at Christmas at its heart. Amy Clipston's Evergreen Love brings a second chance to get love right for Ryan Lapp and Lorene Bontrager. Holiday of Hope by Kelly Irvin brings laughter and joy to widower Henry Lufkin as he falls for the orphaned boy in his care, and his school teacher, Leesa Yoder. Kathleen Fuller brings Wreathed in Joy where best friends Mary Wengerd and Jakob Mullet ruin a great friendship by dating. Or did they? Finally, Vannetta Chapman gives the very tender love story, A Christmas Prayer, where widower Micah Miller and spinster Rachel King fall in love in their later years. Of the four stories, this one was probably my personal favorite. I liked them all but there was something about Micah's patience with the never-married Rachel that just touched my heart. Readers of Amish fiction will LOVE this book. All four authors are insanely good at their craft, and bring their characters to vibrant life. I would absolutely recommend this anthology! |
I received this book through netgalley. I love every author in it. each are very great story teller's. I love each one every one of the character's and the cover and the setting's ane the title. I can't wait to read more from these author's. |
I enjoy reading the novella anthologies that seem very popular with Amish fiction/romance. Why do you ask? One I get to revisit some of my favorite characters or towns briefly and learn more about side characters. Two I find new to me authors or series that I might not normally gravitate towards. Three I can read a story a night and fall asleep happy. I tend to suggest these novella anthologies to readers who want to dip their toes into the Amish genre. This selection of novellas will be on my heavily suggested list. Each story is full of love and Christmas cheer. How can you go wrong? Don't ask me to pick a favorite as that would not be right. Each story was heartwarming and written well. A perfect book to put you in the Christmas cheer. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, Zondervan Fiction, through NetGalley. An Amish Christmas Wedding is an anthology written by four authors. Evergreen Love (Amy Clipston) Lorene and Ryan haven’t seen each other for five years when she broke off the engagement. Now, Ryan’s brother, Jonathan, will be marrying Lorene’s sister. So the two will have to face each other. Will there be a second chance at love? A Holiday of Hope (Kelly Irvin) Widower Henry Lufkin is given charge over his best friend’s ten-year-old son Tommy. Tommy knew about death at a very young age after losing his mother, father, and aunt. What was God’s plan for this little boy? Did God have a plan for an Atheist Amish boy? This story was my favorite. Wreathed in Joy (Kathleen Fuller) A story of second chances. My favorite quote is “One day at a time. That’s all we have to get through.” A Christmas Prayer (Vannetta Chapman) The setting for this story is Shipshewana, Indiana. It is another favorite of mine. I learned about Old Christmas and why it’s called that. In 1582 Pope Gregory XIII changed the calendar. He wiped away 10 days, 11 minutes, and 15 seconds. So we have the Christian holiday celebrated 12 days after Christmas. The Christ-child changed the world. The stories in this anthology are good, clean reading, and I recommend them as a Christmas book club read. There are discussion questions for each story. An Amish Christmas Wedding by Amy Clipston, Kelly Irvin, Kathleen Fuller, Vannetta Chapman From bestselling authors of Amish fiction come four delightful stories perfect for celebrating love, joy, and the everyday miracles Christmas brings. Evergreen Love by Amy Clipston Ryan Lapp had promised to marry Lorene Bontrager as soon as he was able to build them a house, but the day never came. Ryan moved away. Five years later, Lorene has settled in to her old maid role, and she’s shocked when her younger sister announces her quick engagement to Ryan’s younger brother. As they rush to plan the wedding, Lorene is constantly around the family she almost joined. Worse, she’s forced to face Ryan himself, who has returned to town. As both Ryan and Lorene examine their own feelings, they must decide if they can find grace with each other—and the young people they once were—this Christmas season. There just might still be love in their future. Holiday of Hope by Kelly Irvin Henry Lufkin is one of four bachelors who lived in the West Kootenai, Montana, cabins that were destroyed by wildfires. He’s the only one of them who hasn’t since married, but he likes his solitude. Then an old friend asks him to care for his son, and Henry has to share his small cabin and his life with bewildered and rebellious ten-year-old Tommy. When the child encounters trouble at school, Henry reaches out to Tommy's teacher. Leesa Yoder never expected to find herself single and teaching sixteen young scholars, and she certainly didn’t anticipate an inexperienced bachelor telling her how to do her job. Amid the flying sparks, can Henry and Leesa see that there might be hope and love in this unexpected situation? Wreathed in Joy by Kathleen Fuller Mary Wengerd and Jakob Mullet have been best friends since childhood. Pressured by friends and family, they decided to date—with disastrous results. When they break up, their friendship is ruined. A year later, Mary is baking her Englisch friend’s wedding and groom cakes for a Christmas Eve wedding. Mary loves the Christmas season, and had always dreamed of marrying during that time. Now she wonders if she’ll ever marry. After she and Jakob form a tenuous new friendship, Mary breaks her arm. As he steps in to help her with the cakes, Mary is inexplicably and suddenly falling for him. But they've already dated, and that ended so horribly. Could it be better this time? A Christmas Prayer by Vannetta Chapman Widower Micah Miller runs the Amish Tour Company, offering Englischers a glimpse of a simpler life as well as tea at Rachel King’s. Rachel has never married and has recently lost her parents. When Micah comes across an abandoned and injured dog, he gives it to Rachel for company. As Rachel is charmed by the dog and shocked by news of the existence of family she never expected, her heart and mind bend toward the possibilities of change in her life—even toward the possibility of love. Evergreen Love by Amy Clipston This is Lorene Bontrager and Ryan Lapp's story. Holiday of Hope by Kelly Irvin This is Henry Lufkin and Tommy's story. This is Leesa and Henry's story. a young boy whose father was a good friend of Henry. Henry who ends up being the guardian of Tommy. Henry share his small cabin and his life with bewildered and rebellious ten-year-old Tommy. Leesa Yoder never expected to find herself single and teaching sixteen young scholars. Wreathed in Joy by Kathleen Fuller This is Mary Wengerd and Jakob Mullet's story. Mary and Jakob who have been best friends since childhood. Mary is baking her Englisch friend’s wedding and groom cakes for a Christmas Eve wedding. Mary loves the Christmas season, and had always dreamed of marrying during that time. Now she wonders if she’ll ever marry. After she and Jakob form a tenuous new friendship, Mary breaks her arm. As he steps in to help her with the cakes. When Micah comes across an abandoned and injured dog, he gives it to Rachel for company. She is shocked by news of the existence of family she never expected. These stories showcase four Amish couples—Lorene and Ryan, Leesa and Henry, Mary and Jakob, Rachel and Micah—who find or rekindle love at Christmas time. I highly recommend reading. An Amish Christmas Wedding by Amy Clipston, Kelly Irvin, Kathleen Fuller, Vannetta Chapman is a wonderful well written 5 star book. I am looking forward to reading more books by Amy Clipston, Kelly Irvin, Kathleen Fuller and Vannetta Chapman. I received a complimentary e-book from Net Galley. |
This is a decent set of short stories from major writers of Amish romance. The first story asks the question -- what do you do when your sister announces her engagement to your ex-fiance's brother? These are good stories for fans of the genre or anyone else looking for a gentle read with a happy ending. #NetGalley #LJDOD |
Four best selling authors each bring us a short delightful novella set during the Christmas season. Christmas is a magical time when people find love and hope. These four couples do not disappoint. They find love, grace, forgiveness, and happiness. Each of these stories stand alone but carry the same themes. I love Christmas time so I was delighted with these stories. The characters were easy to follow and fall in love with. The story lines were believable. I highly recommend grabbing a hot beverage and putting your feet up. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required. |

Sweet set of stories This is a sweet set of Christmas-themed Amish stories/novellas by recognized authors in the genre. And, they do no disappoint! The situations ring true, the characters are well-described, a bit of escapism in 'interesting' times, what's not to love about this book? Thank you to the publisher who lent me a time-constrained e-arc via Netgalley. This review is optional and my own opinion. |
