In this book, you hear many different points of views on what might have happened to Tabitha. Whilst reading the book, I changed my mind multiple times on what I believed had happened to her. I never guessed correctly.
The characters in this book were well developed and interesting. They all had their own secrets.

Where was Tabitha? Oh where was she, Annabelle’s best friend? Five years had passed, and there had been no trace of her. After the initial public fury, Rick, Tabby’s husband was roaming scot-free. Everyone had forgotten about her. But not Annabelle and neither had Kay, who wanted to reveal the killer in her podcast.

A swift paced book with multiple POVs, at different timelines providing all the angles to the situation the characters found themselves in. The writing was maddening at first until the author slowly tied them all together. These characters, I tell ya, they were all shifty. The things they did to themselves… Sheesh!!

I couldn’t have ever predicted where the story was going, each POV led me astray. I kept going farther until I realized I was close, so close to the truth. And explode it did with the truth and I knew where Tabitha was!! Do you want to know?

Do Her No Harm by Naomi Joy is a highly recommended psychological thriller.

One night five years earlier Tabitha (Tabby) Rice disappeared without a trace. She's presumed murdered, but there are no clues as to who could be responsible, beyond her husband, Rick Priestley. Rick claimed to be innocent and there is no proof he did anything. Annabella (Bella) was Tabby's best friend and she knows there is more to the story. She's been looking into Tabby's past trying to uncover proof that Rick did something, but to no avail. Bella knows that Tabby suspected Rick was having an affair and she is determined to dig up dirt on him. When podcaster Kay Robero talks to her, the two begin to work together.

The narrative jumps around in time from the present day, to 5 years earlier, before Tabitha disappeared, and even back 20 years when Rick met Tabitha. The story is told through Tabby, Bella, and Rick's point-of-view. There are also bits of Kay's true crime podcasts. Once the narrative gets moving, it quickly becomes clear that there is more going on than is being revealed and readers will be leery to trust any of the characters. The plot is a little slow paced, but that does serve to build up suspense that something is going to happen and some twist must be in sight. Patience with the pace will be rewarded in the end, but I'd be untruthful if I said it was gripping or a thrill-ride until near the very end of the book.

While the plot through most of the novel is pedestrian, the characters make the story interesting. These are all flawed and, well, odd people who are not likeable or trustworthy. They all have secrets and as with any good thriller it is the secrets and the feeling that all is not as it seems that will keep you reading. You do have to get to the last fifth of the novel before things really become tense and nail-biting leading up to the conclusion. What was a solid 3 star rating jumped to 4.

This is an intense domestic suspense story. It explores how ordinary people become dark and dangerous.

The story begins with an intriguing situation, full of dramatic irony, the reader knows something is wrong, but the protagonist doesn't. The story is multi-viewpoint both past, and present. The characters are unreliable protagonists, but they are relatable, and you sympathise with their situations at times. The historic viewpoint illuminates the characters' motivations, but not all of them until the end.

The author cleverly reveals enough information to make the reader believe they know the twist, but they don't as there is more than one, which makes this absorbing to the last page.

I have read a book written by Naomi Joy before and I really enjoyed it. I read the synopsis for 'Do Her No Harm' and it certainly sounded like an interesting read and then some. So without further ado, I grabbed my Kindle and settled down to read. I really enjoyed reading 'Do Her No Harm' but more about that in a bit.

I must be honest and say that it took me a little while to get into this story. I found the jump between timelines to be a bit confusing to start with. Once I fathomed out who was who and what was happening when, I couldn't get enough of this book. I was intrigued by the disappearance of Tabitha and I had a need to know what had really happened to her. The pages of the book turned increasingly quickly as I worked my way through the story. This was one of those books that definitely kept me guessing and I kept changing my mind as to why and how she disappeared. I soon reached the end of the story and overall I did enjoy it.

'Do Her No Harm' is well written. I can't say that the story is a particularly fast paced one, it's more your slow burn kind of read. The slow burn kind of pace works in this book's favour as it allows the tension to build and to get to know the characters that bit better. There were more twists and turns to this story than you would find on a 'Snakes & Ladders' board. I thought that I had worked out how the story was going to pan out, only for Naomi to throw me a curveball and send them down another path entirely. This story certainly kept me on my toes and kept me guessing.

In short and overall, I did enjoy reading 'Do Her No Harm' and I would definitely recommend this book to other readers, and in particular to those who prefer a slower pace of story. I will be reading more of Naomi's work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 4* out of 5*.



This was an interesting and entertaining read. The book deals with the disappearance of Thabitha, and the time jumps between the present and the past make for an interesting perspective on the girl's disappearance. Recommended.

Tabitha's friend Annabella hires a private investigator and starts to realize that she just may not have known Tabitha at all. Secrets start to be revealed and Annabella starts to feel as though she just may have been wrong.

Do Her No Harm is a fantastic thriller. I didn’t want to put this book down and read it in one day.

Tabitha disappears one day. There are no clues left behind. Was Tabitha murdered? Who could’ve murdered Tabitha? Did Tabitha leave to get away from her unhappy marriage?

Do Her No Harm switches between when Tabitha went missing, five years later and fifteen years earlier when she met her husband. Tabitha’s best friend Annabella tries to find out what happened to Tabitha after the police gave up and is still looking five years after Tabitha disappeared. Once secrets about Tabitha are surfaced, Annabella is left questioning if she knew Tabitha at all and if what she thinks happened actually did.

I loved the different time frames. I found this story very entertaining and was very invested from the beginning. The characters were all very interesting and all had so many secrets that were unraveled throughout the book. Naomi Joy did a great job adding suspense throughout the novel.

I recommend Do Her No Harm to domestic thriller fans. Do Her No Harm was my first Naomi Joy book and I am looking forward to reading more of her books.

This was an interesting read. At first I was so curious about what happened to Tabitha that night she disappeared, I felt the back and forth between Tabitha then and Anabella now dragged on. Then Kay, the true-crime podcaster was thrown into the mix. I felt this book had potential at the beginning, and then the middle of it became a filler to make the book longer.

There are some good twists at the end when we find out what really happened to Tabitha and who the other woman that Tabitha always suspected is. I did not see that coming. So the beginning and the end of the book were my favorite parts.

This is a thriller that I really enjoyed and would recommend to fans of this genre. It was an easy read and there were a few twists and turns through the book. I have to say that I didn’t especially like the characters but think that was part of the book not to like them. I also enjoyed the fact I wasn’t sure what the outcome Of the story would be until the end.

Not sure where to start with this one. Description really had me. Loved the past and present dual storyline and you got to know and see the different elements of each character. Having said that I was urging it to move on faster and give me something gritty. Found it was a little to drawn out but then about 3/4 way in it got going and it all came to the fore and not something I saw coming. But I did find it a little unbelievable at times and there was a few things left unanswered and different elements just not tied up. I would definitely read other books by this author as I loved the element of surprise.

This psychological thriller kept me guessing. Five years ago, Tabitha had disappeared. Her best friend Annabella thinks it was Tabitha's husband, Rick who was responsible and Annabella is determined to find out. The story flips back and forward in time, telling us the events that occurred before and after Tabitha went missing. This is a twist filled creepy read. The story flows along at a good pace. I didn't like any of the characters but they were believable. This is quite a gripping read. I didn't guess where the story was going but all the loose ends were tied up at the end.

What can I say about this book? It was not the full of suspense/want to finish it quickly to figure out what happens next type of read which I usually enjoy, more like a couple of middle aged ladies playing amateur sleuths while they try to figure out what happened to one of the lady's best friends 5 years ago, while the other one does a true crime podcast about her findings.
It was full of lies, deceipt, and plenty of cheating. Nobody can be trusted, not even the best friend, who unfortunately really wasn't much of a friend at all. I found myself feeling sorry for the victim because where she was kind of ditzy, nobody was really reliable for her entire life.
I did like the surprise twist at the very end, it was not what I expected. Thank you NetGalley for another book for an honest review.

I’ve read a Naomi Joy book before and really enjoyed it so was looking forward to getting my teeth into this one. A typical psychological thriller with some twists and turns throughout the journey. A lot of predictable events happening. The writing style was good but found the actual story to be a little lacking

What happened to Tabby? Annabella isn't sure that her husband Rick, who was the prime suspect, should be blamed. And she's not sure what he should be blamed for in any event- there's no body, only a disappearance. Well, Tabby, Annabella, and Rick all have their say in this twisty thriller than moves back and forth in time. Is Annabella a reliable narrator? She's got some issues but she's working with a journalist and, of course these days, has a podcast. Of course there are lies and secrets, some of which you might not find surprising (but others you will). Joy has a nice style of storytelling and the characters are vivid. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good read.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this one, but it's an intriguing read.

Annabella has spent the last five years trying to come to terms with the sudden disappearance of her best friend. Convinced that Tabitha Rice's husband is responsible, she has been funding a private detective to watch him but is getting nowhere so decides to be more pro-active herself. The more she digs, the more she discovers - and not all of it is what she expected to find. Did Tabby just disappear or has something more serious happened? Can Annabella get to the bottom of it all?

I must admit to being completely mystified as to Tabitha's whereabouts; as the story went back and forwards in time, filling the reader in on the history of all those concerned I finally thought I had worked it out - only to discover I was completely wrong! However, by the final page everything is clearly explained and I was satisfied with the outcome. I didn't find it as gripping as I could have; with multiple narrators I had to keep checking to see who was 'speaking' quite often, but this is a cleverly plotted novel and a rewarding read. I'm very happy to give this one four stars.

Having really enjoyed the authors previous book ‘The Liars’ I was looking forward to reading this
It’s a story of 2 friends and an ex husband, 1 of the friends disappeared after a night out 5 years ago and was never heard of again and all eyes were on the hubby, the friend meanwhile never got over her disappearance and even hired a P.I. to look into it, its stalemate until a podcast decides to feature the story and the story takes a very big change of direction
The first half of the book I would say plods along fairly well, the characters are looked into and the events leading up to and including the disappearance are revisited, often it was quite confusing as the characters and timeline were constantly changing from the past to the past past and then to the present ( and a key game changer in the book which cant say or will ruin it when revealed made it even more complex ) however the authors narration, sometimes humourous in its infliction amd always ‘flamboyant in its descriptive wording’ kept me ‘with it’ and I am glad it did as the 2nd half is good, really good and kinda horrific in its darkness that leads to a scary and chilling end
A couple of subjects ie OCD and fear of germs feature in the book, not overpoweringly but enough to build a picture of how it affects one of the characters
I am glad I ploughed through the build up and all the detail needed to get to the crux of the book

Five years ago, Tabby disappeared and Annabella, her best friend, suspected her husband. She is now determined to find out what happened. The story flipped back and forth between events in the past and present (the husband 15 years ago, Tabby 5 years ago, Annabella now). I didn't like anyone in this book. Everyone was terrible and I didn't like the end and I didn't really enjoy the book. 2 stars.

This was a compelling read that I got through in one sitting. It's a psychological thriller that kept me guessing. I felt quite in the dark about what was going on until all was revealed.

I definitely recommend this one to those who are fans of the genre.
