I love this cookbook! It's chock full of recipes for Christmas day for family get togethers. All the recipes are rich and decadent, or very flavorful. There are wonderful color pictures of the finished recipes throughout the book. At the end of the book, there are recipes for large groups. I'm going to try quite a few of the recipes.

I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of recipes in this beautiful book. There’s some of the “home style” recipes that we all love, but there’s also some recipes that you don’t normally see in Christmas cookbooks, especially in the “Main Dish” section. All the desserts looked delicious. I liked the layout of the cookbook and the beautiful photography that’s all throughout the book. I’m glad to have this one to use for holiday seasons to come.

Christmas is coming up soon, so people will be starting to organise what they want to have for the holidays. I have already started the process of making my Christmas cakes, so I am sure that I am not the only one who is getting prepared. This is where Christmas Delights comes in.

If you make the same food for Christmas every year and want to give something new a try, whilst also keeping it traditional, then there will be a substitute in here for you to try. Even if you do not celebrate Christmas, you can cook any of these foods and I am sure that they will be a hit.

Christmas Delights has 7 different sections: Refreshing Beverages, Bountiful Breakfasts and Lunches, Christmas Dinner including Main Dishes and Sides, Christmas Eve Celebrations, Cookies and Candy, Festive Breads, and Merrymaking: Party Dishes to Feed a Crowd. Each section has an abundance of recipes to choose from. Normally when I get cookbooks, they are very formulaic and set out very similar. In Christmas Delights, while it does follow the traditional sequencing of a cookbook, it is laid out slightly differently which was a nice change from having most cookbooks looking the same but having different recipes.

Stuffed full of recipes, there is bound to be a couple in here that you have yet to try.

I love that this cookbook is faith filled. I thought that was a nice special touch that sets it apart from others. Recipes are easy to follow. The pictures are eye-catching and look delicious! This would make a good early Christmas present to someone in your family to start a new tradition of cooking together leading up to the holidays. I imagine adjustments could be made to accommodate allergies or special diets. All in all a great book!

I love all things Christmas. I can't wait to decorate and I love pouring over recipes. I am not a big baker, except for this time of year.

I loved that this book had some fun non alcoholic drink recipes, perfect to add some pizazz for the kids or non drinkers. There were also so many great recipes for breakfast treats (coffee cakes, muffins, etc.) as well as more savory options. Although there are some interesting main and side dish options, there were limited cookies and candies so the breakfast was really where the winning recipes were.

There were plenty of beautiful photos, always plus in a cookbook.

Recipes are in chapter on beverages, breakfasts and brunches, Christmas Dinner (mains and sides), Christmas Eve Celebrations, cookies and candy, breads, and Merrymaking (party dishes). Interspersed are prayers, scripture verses, and quotes about the holidays. There are a lot of recipes in here, many for classic and traditional Christmas dishes. There are some that are dishes I haven't heard of, and just a few that don't seem as holiday appropriate (based on flavor/ingredient). There are photos included or just some of the dishes, and I wish there were more. Overall a good compilation book.

With the start of November and the weather cooling down, I was excited to read a compilation of Christmas recipes. The recipes were interesting, but not overly complicated. I thought the instructions were helpful and precise. Caveat: I did not realize Barbour was a Christian publisher, so there was more of a religious element than I was expecting.

The sample of Christmas Delights that I read is full of rich, delicious-looking recipes (some with photographs) that would be delightful not only over the holidays but at any time! The book has a definite Southern vibe to it with many recipes containing Grits, and as someone who loves them plain, I will definitely give some of those a whirl. The first recipe I'm going to try is one for Apple Cream Scones. It also seems to contain many older recipes. The salad collection of recipes, like a frozen fruit salad, for example, is one I remember from my childhood. These recipes suit a more traditional cook rather than one cooking to a certain diet or food restriction. An excellent holiday recipe primer! I would gift this to myself or a friend as an early Christmas present.

The vast amount of recipes is fabulous and the whole feeling of the book is homemade and cozy - makes me so excited for Christmas!

The pictures are so pretty and I found myself highlighting recipe after recipe to try later.

Definitely recommend this cookbook!

I adore this cookbook! The variety of recipes is excellent and the whole vibe of the book is so warm - I'm ready for it to be Christmas!! Also, I liked the occasional note on certain recipes about how to either gift them or prep for later. My only tiny nitpick, and this is only because I wanted to make sure I had a thoughtful, thorough review, would be that the instructions are in single paragraphs when I prefer bullet point steps. Not a huge deal, just something I thought about. It isn't enough to change my mind about loving this cookbook!

Festive in its intent, but it feels very stock photo-y inside. Some of the beverages are overly simplistic. I don't really understand the "faith" component except a few unrelated Bible verses throughout.

Christmas Delights is an amazing holiday cookbook. The recipes are simple to follow and delicious! I can't wait for the holidays to come so I can break out these recipes!

I really enjoyed this cookbook, and I will be using several recipes this holiday season! They were all very easy to follow, and clearly written.

One thing that comes to just about everyone's mind when you say "Christmas" is food.
Whether you are thinking of plates full of sweet treats or tables full of special meals, food is one way we celebrate. This cookbook shares many recipes I recognize from church/school cookbooks and pairs them with some spiritual nuggets and pretty pictures. The recipes are made from things on most people's shopping list and will not require you to dirty every dish in the kitchen to make them. They are recipes real people make and eat.

The book is spiral bound which I find makes it easier to use a cookbook. My review copy is digital which keeps me from getting the full effect and from what I can see, no Kindle version is offered for sale.

This book has an excellent selection of recipes. I tried the butternut squash soup and the broccoli & cauliflower salad and thought both were great. The variety of warm Christmas drinks sound festive. I wish the ebook version for reviewers also had each recipe listed in an index with links that would be easy to click and find for when I want to make a specific recipe (the chapters have links, but there was not a clickable recipe index). Hopefully your final ebook version will include that for readers.

Christmas Delights was filled with recipes for all the Christmas classics and tons of dishes you’ll want to turn into your classics. The book was broken into categories for drinks, breakfast and brunch, dinners and of course cookies! I’m looking forward to trying out a bunch of these recipes as the holiday season approaches!

A book full of recipes for the holidays, from pancakes to cookies. Made extra heartwarming with the addition of lines of Scripture. Valuable and enjoyable.

Christmas is one of my favourite time of the year and I love baking so much and I usually do most of my baking during that time so this book was perfect for me. The design of the book is one of the things I loved the most, so festive, yet simple and not chaotic. The recipes are great, so yummy!

*ADD TO CART* Ahhhh, yes! This cookbook is a must-have! I am so impressed with the quantity of recipes and the diversity amongst the collection. I tend to get tired of cloying, heavy seasonal foods so I LOVE that this includes lighter, fruitier recipes as well. Even seafood! Yes! I will absolutely be purchasing this one and giving one to my sister-in-law as well! Well done.
