Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to review this title, yes, I'm years past due, but anyone with an extensive TBR pile understands. I wasn't sure what I'd be getting into with this book; it gave me Mean Girls meets Twilight meets The Butterfly Effect meets The Craft. What a mental rollercoaster. I laughed, I cried, I totally questioned my taste in fiction. "You have to kill your Darlings, Bunny."

This was a strange read. It was cleverly done and it had its appeal, but Bunny will not be a book that everyone will appreciate. The sci-fi Frankenstein element of it was intriguing. The oddness of the friend set was interesting. The captivating way the two genres were blended into a type of Mean Girls with Frankenstein had me quite intrigued. Again, most people would read this and feel alarm, confusion, some mixture of both, but for the special audience who will appreciate this read, it will be one that will not easily be forgotten.

I would join a cult with no questions asked.

I can't even pretend that I'm better than that, smarter than that, or capable-er of reading red flags than that. The fact of the matter is that not only do I hate making decisions (and therefore find the idea of someone making all of mine for me very compelling), but I also (due to years of being a teacher's pet nerd) am desperate to be cool.

Make that cult led by a bunch of hot girls in cute dresses and I am done for.

This is very cool, very...funny in the way of Satire, and a very creepy spooky book that I enjoyed quite a bit. I picked it up as part of my need to read every work of literary fiction with a low average rating and a female protagonist who is hard to like, so I didn't really expect to appreciate the reading experience. But I did.

Incredible, lucious story of creative writing graduate students who turn to witchcraft to bring their craft to life. Funny and dark.

This was bizarre and good at the same time. Definitely not a book for everyone, and there were times I almost put it down. But I highly recommend this to anyone who likes ‘weird’ books. Don’t put it down, finish it!

This is a wild ride of a book. A very funny and dark culty story that had me on my toes and second guessing everything. At first I found the vernacular of the Bunnies difficult to grasp but eventually got into it. This would make a great TV series

I am going to be honest and say that I am not entirely sure what I just read, but I loved every single second of it. When I first heard of this book, it was described as horror comedy, which I do semi-agree with, but at the same time Bunny does not quite fit into those either. It has cult like behavior, that is odd and uncomfortable, but not quit scary. There is magic like science that is so incredibly interesting and that I have never really seen anything similar. It is a weird book where the writing style grabs you immediately even though you might be disoriented throughout the story. I loved this book and have already recommended it to a lot of people who I know love weird books and books where you can not name a single book that has a similar plot line. I will continue to recommend this book to anyone I know who wants something they have never experienced before.

**I received an advanced reader’s copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**
At times very dark and twisted, this novel is a hard one to review. The feelings of loneliness play a vital role in the novel, yet at times the grotesqueness of a situation is almost too hard to read. Ultimately, though, Awad’s narrative is compelling and kept me reading. Those who enjoy 1980s horror films may appreciate this one, as the tone seems at times campy in its horror, but there are still the magical elements that make the reader suspend belief. A perfect allegory to the writing process, and I kept thinking of the advice given by so many authors – “kill your darlings.” While it’s hard to say I “liked” this book, I stayed riveted to the narrative and read this in just two days.
Warning: you may never look at a bunny the same way again.

Bunny was honestly the most weird and bizarre book I ever read. While reading this I had no idea of what was going on,
The writing style is very unique, but the whole time I was having trouble to understand some of it. The ideas behind this book feels like a mix of Mean Girls and Frankestein, but overall I really enjoyed it.

Such a strange and dark story that I found myself totally enthralled in (even when I wasn't sure if I was completely "getting" it). Lots of elements I really enjoy: unreliable narrator, bad bad girl power, private school setting. This book is a trip.
