The Girl You Forgot is my first read from Giselle Green. The plot line of this novel is wonderful. An impossible situation that I would definitely not want to be in.

It’s best I don’t go into details. The reqard of reading this book is best when going in relatively blind. This story is a super emotional rollercoaster. Watching these two characters attempt to rebuild their relationship while there are these secrets lurking is really compelling. I could feel the pain and grief.

I love the dual perspective. I think it let’s us get to know each character and how they are managing during this difficult situation. The emotional component is wonderfully written.

Overall, I am very impressed. I really enjoyed this one and look forward to more from this author.

I began reading this book because the plot sounded interesting. A young man with a brain tumor makes a decision to have surgery. He knows that if he survives the surgery, most likely he will have lost all recent memories.
This is complicated because he does not remember his girlfriend or that she is pregnant. He will have to learn to fall in love with her all over again. There are some things he will have to learn to not only forget but to forgive. She tries to protect him from some truths. When in fact, he actually asked to be protected from those facts prior to his surgery.

The book was slow going at first. I actually put it down for a while. When I did get back into it, I really liked the characters. I went on to finish it and I really enjoyed it. If you like romance books this one has a few new twists. It may be the one for you to read in the new year.

The writing was real with bucketloads of emotions when both the characters, Ava and Will, face a tough situation. A brain tumor and the emergent need for surgery with the complications of loss of memory caused the two lovers to look at it from different angles. This was my first experience with this author, and the book pulled me in as there were many scenes that wrenched my heart. 

The author could balance the different shades of life with some deft writing, showing both despair and hope. The pace was slightly slower than my thrillers, but the scenes demanded that depth. A secret between them that Ava was hiding was the focus of the story in the latter half. The morality of telling a lie was quite thought-provoking.

Overall, the book was quite different from my normal reads and left me with a sigh.

This book is a very thought provoking read.  Will needs a life saving operation to remove a brain tumour but the drawback is that he will lose some of his memory.  Before Will was diagnosed his partner, Ava, revealed a secret that she had been keeping.  Will didn’t want to go ahead with the operation but because he might lose his memory he decides to go ahead with it so he could forget Ava’s secret and told her she had never to mention it again.  When Will wakes up from the operation he doesn’t recognise Ava and realises that he has lost 7 years of his life and doesn’t even remember that Ava is pregnant,   The story is told from Will and Ava’s points of view and is based on love, secrets, lies, sadness and heartbreak.  Will love overcome all these obstacles?  A really emotional read and well recommended.

Such a shame but I just couldn't really get into this. Think it was a little too slow for me and I just never managed to connect with the main characters. There are some excellent reviews for this book so I know it was just that its not my kind of book. Like I say, such a shame as its a fab storyline.

I was given a copy of The Girl You Forgot by Giselle Green by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I have read several of Giselle Greens books before and have always enjoyed them, this one did not disappoint.  The book is told by Ava and Will. When Will has an operation to remove a brain tumour it also removes the last 7 years of his memories. Ava and Will have to begin their relationship again. Ava is also pregnant. This was a well written book, I loved the characters and empathised with both of them. A very interesting well written book.

Just before Will's operation to remove a brain tumour, knowing that he'd lose his recent memory he begs girlfriend Ava to to remind of the truth; that the baby wasn't his.
After the op, Will can't remember the last seven years and he doesn't know Ava. They have to begin again at the beginning. Can their relationship survive? 
Eventually Ava tells Will the truth that she's kept from him but it brings back old long forgotten memories that come back and taunt Will. Can he move forward?
A great piece of writing about the after affects of having brain surgery and how lives change.

Will has a brain tumour . If he has the operation he will lose the memories he and Ava have made but Ava  is sure they get through this and persuades Will to have the operation.

The premise of this book is simply terrifying. What would you do if you were diagnosed with a brain tumor that would wipe out the most memorable years of your life?  That is the predicament that Will is in. Told in POV from Ava and Will. Is their love strong enough to go through the inevitable?

I volunteered to read this book, through netgalley in exchange, for an honest review. This book is well written and the characters are described well. My favorite character is Will Tyler. All the characters are enjoyable. This book has mental health representation. The friendships and the relationships within this book is good. This author's writing style is incredible. You feel like you are the characters in the book. The relationships and the friendships in this story is good. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. This ebook is in stores now for $1.99 (AUD).

I really enjoyed reading this book about Ava’s impossible dilemma which tests the boundaries of her relationship with Will and her own moral compass. We also got to read from Will’s POV as he struggles to navigate through a life he doesn’t remember after his surgery takes away his memories of the last few years. 

It’s frustratingly good. You really do feel for both characters whilst also appreciating how difficult each situation is for the other. There are moments of loss, anger and despair but this is equally balanced with hope, love and strength. It’s interesting to think of how you would act if you woke up from surgery with no recollection of the last 7 years. Would you do things differently? Stay with your partner even though they are a stranger to you? Fall in love with them again?

Such a heartbreaking story about memory, secrets, and promises and how true love can conquer all.   Will was given an extraordinary life-saving operation, but in getting this operation, he loses all memory of how he met his love, Ava.  The book leads you through the after affects of his surgery and the determination if the love between Will and Ava can overcome the memory loss that Will has from the surgery.

This is such a heartbreaking story and is extremely realistic, and the author really resonates the love and heartbreak of these two individuals.

What a great book, and if I could give 10 stars, I definitely would.

When I saw in the synopsis that The Girl You Forgot was likened to books by Jodi Picoult (one of my all-time favourite authors), I wanted to request it immediately. 

Will and Ava are facing something they never thought they would: Will needs brain surgery to remove a tumour. Will was in a band beforehand and he and Ava were very close. 

If the decision to have the surgery was hard  enough, how would Will's recovery be? 

The plot gripped me and all the way through Giselle Green captured the pre-and post hospital experiences really well. I was genuinely concerned for Willl and felt for Ava as she waited for Will to wake up. 

Will has challenges ahead but so does Ava. Will they be able to rebuild what they had if Will's memory has suffered? 

I liked the way the diagnosis and medical side of things were handled, but would have liked to have seen Will in, for example, physical therapy or occupational therapy. In short, more of the process of his hospitalisation and recovery and how he, and Ava, struggled with that. His difficulty, pain senasations and feelings during these sessions. 

I enjoyed witnessing his walk in the hospital garden and his thoughts about what was happening to him during the time he was in hospital. 

Ava and her sister were interesting characters, so I felt like I wanted to know their side of the story too. Harry was a sweet character. 

The Girl You Forgot is not just about relationships, it is about secrets and when to come clean to thise you love about them. It's about finding the strength to fight although things seem bleak. It's about loving someone for who they are and trying to help them find themselves and finding yourself again. 

The novel is a journey and a rollercoaster ride. 

As someone who has had their fair share of hospital stays, I really enjoyed it but I would have liked to have seen how things would have been if Will had had more lasting physical effects too. Because, as well as the memory loss plotline is dealt with here, it's been done too many times in books. 

What if he was left in a wheelchair? Or couldn't speak? How would that change things? And would he and Ava be able to rise to that challenge? 

The Girl You Forgot is truthful, honest realistic and heartfelt as well as the kind of novel that makes you really feel for the protagonists. My heart was in my mouth more than a few times.

The Girl You Forgot is a story that will break your heart many times and you will fall in love with the two leading characters as their lives are turned upside down with the strain of a terrible illness.  However, not only do Ava and Will have to cope with the diagnosis they have the long recovery and there's also the question of the secrets that Ava has promised to Will that she will not reveal to him again post op.

What a conundrum to face for Will when making the decision on having the life saving operation.  He knows the operation is essential but he also knows he will lose his most recent memory.  A memory that holds so much of his creative inspiration for his musical talent.  A memory that also holds the time he fell in love with Ava and the time that his heart was broken.  Ava does everything in her power to ensure Will has the operation and the couple vow to keep the secrets that broke them hidden forever.  However, as time passes during Will's recovery Ava struggles to rebuild their relationship and holding back all the secrets.

This is a wonderful, heartfelt story that will stay with you for a long time.  To have love and lost and to keep loving whether it is reciprocated and knowing it could all shatter at any time must have been such an emotional strain but it also shows the strength of the love within Ava.  During Will's recovery he learns much about his emotional wellbeing during past events and discovers that looking at life through different eyes can make the view a different outlook.

The author, Giselle Green, knows how to create a storyline that draws you in and leaves you feeling wrung out with emotion but you can also feel a sense of hopefulness and warmth.

This is a story of hope, heartbreak ,lies ,forgiveness and love. I can't even imagine going thru this but Giselle created a story that draws you in. I enjoyed it very much. hope to read more by this author.

That is the life facing Ava and her partner Will after they found out he had a deadly brain tumor, he has simply two choices, give in to the tumor and die or have a life-saving operation but lose all your memories for the past several years and forget a painful memory. So in order to keep Will alive, Ava agrees, but that also means that he forgets Ava too, can they rebuild their life together? Or will the secret be too much? 

The Girl You Forgot is such a heartbreaking tale, that will reduce you to a complete emotional mess, but it’s totally worth it! Will and Ava’s characters were very well written and you can’t help but have compassion for them both and honestly become heavily invested in their story from the prologue. 

Giselle Green is a new to me author, but one that I will read again. I found her book to be refreshing, the “out of the ordinary” love story that I have never read before and is honestly a very welcome change.

In The Girl You Forgot, you meet Ava and Will. Will has a brain tumor and will die without an operation. Ava is able to convince him to go through with the surgery, even knowing that his memory of recent years might be wiped. Will he remember her and her love. Does love reside in the heart or the brain? When Will comes out of his surgery, he has lost the last seven years of his life. He doesn't remember Ava, his new job, any problems he had with friends or the fact that Ava is expecting.

When I read the premise of this story, I was immediately intrigued. I know that memories and love reside in the brain, but are there memories elsewhere? I wanted to find out what happened with Ava and Will. What was the secret she was keeping? This was an enjoyable story, but I did have a niggle here and there. The middle of the story dragged a bit, but keep with it, you will be glad you did. Ava loved Will and was willing to give up everything she wanted to keep him alive. When I found out her secret, I was angry with her though, but as we find out more, my heart went out to her. I can't imagine how Will must have felt, dealing with so many things he had forgotten as well as finding out how much his life had changed and he no longer remembered. Giselle Green's writing did a great job conveying emotions. I loved the growth the characters show as the story progressed and the ending was wonderful. This is the first book I have read by Giselle Green, but I will be checking out some of her others.

Eventually agreeing to return to hers after leaving the hospital he begins to fall in love with her all over again, but feels there is something she’s not telling him. What secrets is she keeping and why?
Told in alternative paragraphs from both Ava and Will’s perspectives we get to know more about this couple and their lives.
There were a few times where I felt the story was a little slow but on the whole I enjoyed this book and getting to know the characters
