I appreciate the quality of books that Hyperion publishes. They are always well written. This one was no exception.
Shadowlands may be more dramatic than real life but then that's why we read books. The situations are bigger and more elaborate than what would happen. However, I didn't feel that as much with this book. I was swept away and didn't question.
There were three ways I felt this story could go. It wasn't as dramatic of a reveal as I would have liked because I had sort of figured it out. That didn't prevent me from devouring the book as fast as I could.
The ending is abrupt but then this is the first book. I had forgotten that as I read this book so I was left feeling like I had been running down a very long hill and stopped when I went face first into a brick wall.
I'm looking forward to book 2 and hope I can get my hands on it soon.
