As always I want to first thank Netgalley and St. Martins Press for providing us with a copy of this book so that we could bring you this review.

This is the third of the Bow Street Runners series and I feel like they get better and better. What a great way to hide from trouble if not in plain site. Anna is smart and does what she needs to do to stay safe, she comes up with a brilliant plan to make sure that everyone thinks she is just a plain Jane. I also love that she keeps Sebastien on his toes. She doesn't let him push her around or make her feel less than what she should. I enjoy the dynamic that she has with her ladies maid as well. Its more of a friend ship and a higher with a lower. It made me laugh how Sebastien and Anna first met each other, it was such a series of follies that it almost feels orchestrated. But that it is not is what makes it even more perfect. I like Sebastian as well he was stubborn and stupid at first, but most men are that way so its no surprise it took him a minute to get to the right place. This is definitely one that be added to the list of must reads.

I gave this book 4 regency kiss.

Happy Reading... Adri

Oooooh this was SO GOOD!! Definitely the best book of the series.

I loved the premise of Sebastien having to protect a Russian princess in disguise. His chemistry with Anya was off the charts from the very beginning. This book was also paced really well and focused more on the romance than the 2 previous books, which I really appreciate. (Btw their sex scenes were 🔥🔥🔥)

I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what Bateman comes out with next!!

A perfect fairytale romance between Sebastien Wolff, the Earl of Mowbray and Princess Anastasia Denisova, who had to hide under the name of Anya Brown to escape a villain set on marrying her.

Seb was a hero through and through but Anya was no damsel in distress. She knew how to do what was needed for self-preservation but it was nice to see her get a chance to have her burdens eased by someone else.

The supporting characters were a nice addition without overshadowing the main couple. All in all, a lovely story.

I was hooked as soon as I saw the line 'hidden Russian princess' and found it fascinating it sort of bordered on the story of Anastasia Romonov plot - and this Anastasia or 'Anna" is living in secret, and she needs protection. Bow Street Runner ( Yay!!! ) Wolff is interested in Anna right away. But when the mystery of her background surfaces, he needs to find a way to keep her safe - and his.

Yet another delightful book by Kate Bateman! Seb and Anya are put into a very dangerous situation that forces Seb to offer his protection to Anya. He thinks she's just a friend of a Princess, but she's keeping a very big secret. Together these two must find a way to expose a traitor. Very entertaining, sensual read!

I really enjoyed this The Princess and the Rogue (book 3) - Kate Bateman has officially become an auto-buy author for me!

Sebastian and Anastasia are the main characters of this book and I loved their story from start to finish. Anastasia is a Russian princess hiding in London and when she crosses paths with Sebastian...in a brothel no less, things get really interesting. Their story progresses well and there are a few twists and turns that kept me turning the pages.

If you haven't picked up this series...or really any book by Bateman, you should remedy that. The Bow Street Bachelors series has easily become a favorite and I can't wait to see what she writes next.

Anastasia Denisova is a Russian princess who is in hiding for 18 months and she is a paid companion to Sebastian's aunt.. Sebastian is Lord Mowbray and also a Bow Street agent.
It was a well-written fun historical romance with some suspense.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC

This was my first Kate Bateman book, but I am excited to read more from her. This is the third book in the series, but read fine as a standalone. However, I am really interested in reading the first two books in the series after seeing those couples in this book.

The chemistry between the couple in this book is instantaneous, and is so good! There is lots of forced proximity with them having to stay at Sebastian’s house together while he is protecting her. I loved so many things about this book. It ended up being just a little bit too long and drawn out for me, which is what knocked it down from a 5 star read.

The Princess and the Rogue is the third book in the Bow Street Bachelors and my favorite to date! (I am hoping we see a few more with some of the side characters!) This book can definitely be read as a standalone, and you will not be lost at all. However, if you want to see Seb's friends fall hard, then you want to read the others as well.
I really enjoyed this novel. It was fun, flirty, and even had a bit of a mystery thrown in as well.
Anya and Seb got off to a rocky start when they run into each other in a brothel. Seb tries to buy her for the night, and Anya refuses — but not before a heated kiss. The chemistry between them is electric from the start. Their encounters filled with tension. I loved watching them let their guards down and give in to their feelings. And the mystery surrounding the secrets that Anya kept had me flipping those pages to see how it all turned out.
I can't wait to read more by this author.

I love this book with all my heart. And I don't take that notion lightly... When it comes to historical romance, I'm always picky but this book made me swoon long after I finished it. I loved it so much that I picked up the books in the previous series. I couldn't get enough.

The story follows a Russian princess in hiding as a commoner in London when she met the gruff and rough-around-the-edges Bow Street Agent. Theirs was an instant connection but not without its challenges. The story soon continues as they put these two headstrong characters under the same roof and what follows is a delicious, steamy, and outrageously witty series of events that led them to their HEA.

I love chivalrous brusque heroes in their own rights and this book delivered just that. The heroine is also a strong-willed, no-nonsense type, and when these two butt heads with each other... the tension is through the roofs! And I was an entertained spectactors.

This is an unputdownable kind of story that will leave you breathless and wanting more. I would recommend this series for all of you Historical romance lovers. Kate Bateman is a gem waiting to be uncovered

I found this book charming. It didn't quite hit the high notes of the romancing a royal trope that I so dearly love, but I found the protagonists enjoyable, and liked their chemistry. The sticking point for me was in a few places: sometimes my ability to buy in to the story stretching reality just didn't quite go far enough. A Russian Princess in hiding named Anastasia? Well, first, couldn't she have another name at least, to differentiate her from the Romanov Anastasia/Anya? But second, how did she flee France with only one servant and no one else? No guards? No other servants or protectors? Why on earth did she write back to a Russian contact, admit she was still alive, and not ask for more funds? Protection? Guards? A way to keep her out of the hands of the villain? Why does she decide to rent out rooms next to a brothel and then teach the girls next door how to read and be a lady's companion to a duchess? Her hidden gems truly don't go far enough to get more funds from back home? Also as a Princess, how does she not have other surviving male relatives? Surely the other Prince is a distant cousin?

You see what I mean. I liked the little Russian traditions, and the interactions between the hero and heroine. The writing was good. Anya was enjoyable most of the time, I adore royalty in disguise. But so much of the plot's hinges on a long series of contributing factors that require a suspension of belief that I never managed. I may pick up the other previous books, though.

There were a lot of things I liked about The Princess and the Rogue. I really liked Sebastien and Anya, and it was impossible not to get swept up in their romance as the two of them fought their attraction and then slowly caved. They had such a great dynamic, driving each other crazy and absolutely not wanting to be attracted to each other but being unable to help it. But this plot really didn’t work for me, and in fact got a little ridiculous near the end with the sleeping potion. I wasn’t a fan of the setup of the traitor attacking Anya in the opening chapters, and I disliked how the traitor story arc loomed over the rest of the story (though I did enjoy how it was an excuse to push Sebastien and Anya into close proximity). While I enjoyed this book a lot more than the second book in this trilogy, it didn’t stand out to me the way the first book, This Earl of Mine, did.

I’m so happy I stumbled on this series and am so sad that it is over with! I couldn’t stop laughing and smiling while reading this book. Anya and Sebastian had wonderful banter and chemistry that I couldn’t stop reading. I also loved how the other couples from the past books were involved in this story and all the action that happened throughout this riveting book. Kate Bateman has definitely become an auto buy for me and I can’t wait for more books from her!

This was another entertaining entry in this series and I liked it a lot. I thought that Sebastian and Ana's story had a very "classic" feel to it and I do not mean that in a bad way. It's just that I've read many takes on the same plot concept and yeah, there is a big reason for that. It's because it works. Secrets, twists, drama, tension, emotion, intrigue and desire make a compelling and enticing blend that is always sure to go down easily. Toss in the extra swoon appeal of the royal angle, a spunky heroine to root for and a dashing rogue that is sure to make your heart skip a beat and you pretty much have yourself some guaranteed catnip to a romance reader.

I loved the bow street bachelors and Sebastien's story was very good. (I will say the first in series was my favorite because the plot was so out of the ordinary).

Princess Anya has lost all of her family and is on the run from a man who is not only a traitor but a danger. She is able to hide in London but soon her past catches up to her. Thankfully she has the strong arms of Lord Mowbray to protect her. Lord Mowbray, Sebastien knows Anya is not telling him the whole truth but he is drawn to her. The more time he is in her presence the more he falls, but her safety must come first, especially when he learns her secret.

Handsome earls, secret Princess, dastardly villains and mulitple happy endings! A good finale to a good series!

In romance novels, we want our heroes to be everything, and The Princess and the Rogue delivers. Military hero? Check: Seb was a sniper who helped defeat Napoleon. Nobleman? Check: Seb was ennobled for his good deeds (see: military hero). Law & Order? Check: Seb also works for Bow Street in his spare time. Bad boy? Check: Seb co-owns a gambling hell with his fellow military hero/Bow Street runner/earl buddies.

So Seb is basically everything you look for in a romance hero. Anya seems like a great counterpart: she is strong, intelligent, and holds her own against him. It's always fun to move outside of the traditional British aristocracy in a Regency, so Anya's Russian heritage added some interesting international intrigue. We were hoping for a twist on the fairy tale ending where the princess saves herself, but were a bit disappointed when Seb has to show up and rescue her.

Although not especially groundbreaking, The Princess and the rogue is an enjoyable finale to the Bow Street Bachelors series. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

So sad to see this series end, but I enjoyed it so much.

While the first book is still my favorite, this book is a really close second.
I loved their first meeting. It was fun and memorable. Their chemistry was great and build stronger and stronger each time they were together. I can't wait to read the next Kate Bateman book.

This is the 3rd book in the series The Bow Street Bachelors. (and each one can stand alone, although it's fun knowing the other two gentleman and their wives when they appear) And like the first two bachelors, this story drawl's you in right away. It's full of romance, adventure, and sass. And the characters that surround the main two are just as interesting.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC from #NetGalley, as I had already read the first two. My review on this book is of my own volition.

Oh, how I have loved the Bow Street Bachelors series! No, we aren't getting a true to times and conventions historical romance. We are getting a book with ladies filled with so much moxie it's coming out their ears and the gents that love them for it and I am just here for all of it!

In The Princess and the Rogue, we get the last of our Bow Street Bachelor trio, Sabastian Wolff the Earl of Mowbray. He's very much a one and done sort. After the ravages of war, he knows he would not be a good fit for anyone. So, he keeps to trivial encounters as it suits him best.

Princess Anastasia Denisova fled to London after a horrific attempt by a traitorous yet powerful man to force her into marriage. She has been hiding as a companion/assistant to a dowager duchess and living with her once companion. She has found life as a commoner a good one finding purpose in her work and even made friends with her neighbors who live and work next door at a high-end bawdy house. She teaches some of the girls to read and write when they are not "engaged".

One night while teaching lessons the Earl of Mawbray interrupts the lesson and mistakes Anna for one of the working girls. Curious and frankly too stunned to react, Anna lets the handsome man take liberties in a kiss. Then she refuses to "engage her services" to the Earl and leaves. Sebastian, not used to being rebuffed becomes consumed with the intriguing Anna and goes searching high and low for her. Only to find her in dire need of rescue when he shows to escort his aunt to her country house.

I really enjoyed the push/pull between Sebastian and Anna. They fought and bickered and just sparked up the chemistry. Anastasia was a very strong woman and fought for her "independence". I always enjoy a bit of that feminist spirit in the historical romances I read. The "true" historicals often get my feminist back up and frustrate me to no end. I loved how we had our other couples come back for some scenes and input.

I have wholeheartedly enjoyed this series, I hope we get more but fear we may be done. Regardless, Kate Bateman's books always deliver the goods.

An amazing tale, I absolutely loved this and this series just gets better! I could not put this book down! Normally, in historical romance, we are used to seeing duchesses and countesses but to have a princess was delightful! Bateman is just a master storyteller, her characters are so fully developed and each with their own unique personalities. The plots are just thick with twists and turn so that readers aren't bored at any time and the historical accuracy is spot on! Truly an amazing tale that I would highly recommend!
