Avery Flynn is one of my top pick rom-com authors. I love all the connections between the characters in her books and the Ice Knights series has been one of my favorites. I have been so excited to read Loud Mouth.

When it comes to Avery Flynn's writing, she just gets me. When I pick up one of her books I know that I am going to get what I am craving. She never disappoints me. Her writing style is so inviting and the narration so smooth. Flynn pulls you into the story and gets you hooked immediately.

Shelby and Ian were both very relatable and likable characters. It was so easy to connect with them because they were so flawed and real. While both characters had depth and character growth, I felt that Ian had the most. I felt that Shelby's addiction issues could have been expanded upon or highlighted more in the story. Her struggle just didn't feel as immediate as Ian's. I really loved seeing characters from other books in this series and from the Hartigans series. I really hope to see more Ice Knights in future books. Christensen has definitely piqued my interest after reading this book.

The attraction between Shelby and Ian is hot and heavy from the start. I loved the enemies-to-lovers feel at the beginning of the story. I really liked Shelby and Ian together and I felt that they made a great couple. I did feel like they jumped into the physical aspect of their relationship a little too quickly. It made the romance a little unbelievable at the start because it felt like it was at face value and only due to attraction. As the story progresses we get to see that they truly see each other and value more in each other.

Overall, this is a lighthearted book that perfectly balances the humor and steam that we all love in our rom-coms. You'll love the witty banter, memorable characters, and entertaining plot. This book will leave a smile on your face when you walk away. I can't wait for more outstanding stories from this author!

I have loved this series and this book just made it so much better. I loved the characters Shelby and Ian are perfect for each other if they can stop fighting long enough to figure it all out. This story had me laughing out loud so many times. I love a good romantic comedy with sports romance mixed together. Avery Flynn has another hit on her hands with this book. Great Story, Amazing Characters and a kick butt Author!!!

This was exactly the fun fluffy read I needed this past weekend! Shelby and Ian start out with an enemies-to-lovers vibe, but truthfully that doesn't last long since Shelby hadn't meant to out Ian's biggest secret and he realizes it fairly quickly. (Annnnnd they kinda fall into bed even quicker, which is a whole other story--but it was snowing! They were trapped together at the cabin! And there was only one...living room rug? ;) )

Relationship pacing aside, I enjoyed the snark of this one as much as the swoon. Even when they were attempting to stick to their "what happens in a different zip code" relationship it was easy to root for them to reach their HEA.

(I also loved watching Ian and his brother come together against their common enemy--their a-hole sperm donor--and am crossing my fingers really, really hard that Alex is getting his own book too.)

Though this is the third book in the series, it could absolutely work as a standalone. If you've read Ms Flynn's Hartigans series, though, you'll love the part Lucy ( Muffin Top ) plays here as she tries to keep Ian, Alex, and the rest of the Ice Knights in line.

It's a tough job, but she's just the woman to do it ;)

Loud Mouth by Avery Flynn is a fun romantic comedy. The entertainment started with the first chapter. A secret is found out in a way that devastates two hockey players for the same team. They need to get their heads together and soon before their match begins. A woman blogger is cast out and hated for the secret leaking. Only she didn't leak it. Someone overheard her phone call with her very loud mother in the bathroom. Who knew things could go so wrong so fast? But hey, this writer is just setting up...both the heroine and hero end up in the same cabin. Snowed in...that's where it gets interesting and even more funny by the second.

The hero reminds me of a grizzly that only grunts and you have to decide on what he means every time. The heroine and her voice and nice laugh...made for a god contrast against the hero, Ian. Such charming characters...and the other hockey player, Alex was a great guy too. I loved how he came in to save the day between Ian and the heroine. Also, I loved how Ian stepped up and played the protective brother and from that moment onward, the two hockey players were two happy brothers and best friends again.

The romance between the blogger and grunting hero heated the pages with fire. It was intense, playful, and raw. Everything was well-done and well-crafted. Avery Flynn's books are a must read for all romance fans. Her world of fiction engages me with every page. I could not put the book down.

I’m not exactly sure when I became a fan of Avery Flynn’s but I think it was sometime around chapter 7 of her previous Ice Knight’s book “Awk-Weird”.
I really enjoyed Ms. Flynn’s writing style and the attention to detail she gives to her hockey romances. The little superstitions thrown in are some that I’m sure all athletes can relate to, whether that’s a hockey player taping his stick a certain way, a cheerleader wearing the same lipstick every show, or a scholastic decathlon member who always eats a gallon of ice cream before a competition.

Big fan of the writing and the story made sense for the scenario and was quite cohesive.

So, I am really enjoying the Ice Knights. I am not a hockey fan, at all. But these guys have me wishing I was one just to see what all the fuss is about. But, that’s neither here nor there. The story is about Ian and Shelby and the fallout from her big mouth.

No, Shelby didn’t mean to tell a soul what she found out. It just so happens that her mother has a big mouth and the reporter that was in the ladies room had huge ears. There was no way to stop this story from getting out and now her career may be on the line about it. But, what’s even worse … the news breaks up two of the bestest of friends and she has no idea how to fix it. Time to just wallow in her misery.

Ian just needed a bottle of scotch and some alone time after the fallout. Did he get it? Hell, no. What he got was the leaker of the story … his nemesis … the Loud Mouth that let the whole world know about something he knew nothing about. Now, stuck in a cabin with the sexy little thing, during a blizzard, with her constantly apologizing or flipping him off is not how he wanted to spend his rehab time. He can’t help but notice how her ass is shaped or how she doesn’t stand for his grunts. What would it hurt?

One hot night and an arrest later and they found out just how much it’s going to hurt.

I loved Ian … he was hysterical with his grunts and how he was just going to ignore the elephant(s) in the room … Shelby and Alex and dear old dad. Shelby was something else. She said what had to be said and did what she had to do until she just couldn’t do it any longer. She was smart, brash and recovering. Two of the most questionable people to be together, get together and it’s the most wonderful thing to watch.

Avery Flynn knows how to bring us characters with heart and an unending dialogue that keeps you smiling and laughing throughout the book. Like I said before, she is the queen of RomCom and I am thrilled that she keeps pushing these wonderful characters on us.

I loved the last one in the series, so I had high expectations of this one too. Avery didn’t let me down. Her witty repartee and humorous scene building was just as great. How corny can you get to have them do it on a bear skin rug in front of a fireplace? Cheesy, I know but it works. To add insult to injury they are found by the cops on said bear skin rug…need I say more?? You have to read this one to learn about all this hilarity.

This whole series has been about a group of players who find love in the most awkward of ways and at what seems to be the most inopportune times. Avery somehow makes them all turn out better than they were alone and with great success at the end of each book. I was glad to see this one was no less outlandish than the first two books and kept me on my toes. When I thought a scene may have come to early in the book or the plot, she flipped it on me and made me wonder. If I had been reading this in paperback I definitely would have been wondering at the timeline. She does not follow your usually seen story lines with a slow build and then conflict. No she digs right into the sexy and then the conflict. But wait, there’s more sexy. Just stay tuned because it’s like each chapter is it’s own cliffhanger. Just glad she wraps it up in the end.

These two characters don’t seem like they have a lot in common other than their love for the game of hockey but after a while they realize they are both softies at heart and are dealing some messed up issues in their lives. They also both just want to have things go easy for once. Together they work to make that happen. She teaches him that it’s alright to hate the act, but perhaps the messenger isn’t always the bad guy. He teaches her that sometimes you have to trust your gut and know when to check and when to dodge…See I did a pun thing there!!

Seriously though, Ian and Shelby are both likeable characters who make a great pair and you can’t help but want them to find love with one another. Avery has a way of creating these characters we want to see win at something. And then she delivers the win to us. This one and the whole series are no different.

I’m giving this a 4.5 of 5 because I loved it. I’m sad to see the series end, but hopefully she keeps giving us spin offs of the Hartigan’s to satisfy our hockey tooth. The hunks really help too. Thanks Avery for another great story and can’t wait to see what you hit us with next time. This series was definitely a hat trick.

Sometimes you just need a good sports romance in your life (mainly because this is the only dose of sports I get at all full stop 😂), and I know that AF never disappoints with her Ice Knights series (this being book 3).

Our heroine runs her own ice hockey blog and is finally invited to work with her favourite team. Things go downhill fast when she accidentally breaks a story about 2 team mates being related when one of them didn’t know. She retreats to a cabin in the middle of no where when she gets stuck with one of the players... and of course it’s the one who did not know he had a secret brother.

I really liked how the heroine was not your typical romance heroine- she had an edgy vibe (the cover depicts her well), is a recovering alcoholic sober for 6 years, and has a high pitched voice that grates on people. Our hero was a grunter and yep I’m totally here for it! The book wasn’t super sports focused (and i actually wanted more because I love not only the team camaraderie but also reading about sports and competition) but it still let me in to the ice hockey world. Can’t wait for the next book in the series!

Holy hotness this is hockey RomCom at its finest. Going in I wasn’t sure because in the beginning I am so sad for Ian. He has some messy family dynamics going on and strong feelings of betrayal. Our heroine, Shelby has some major guilt going on because she inadvertently let the cat out of the bag. Yikes. Don’t worry you will fall in love with her. She is beautifully flawed in all the right ways with her heart always shining through.

This is about a crazy, zany journey of finding your true family and forgiving others missteps that has wounded you. I love the realness and spiciness of this read. In RomCom fashion it offers several laugh out loud moments and some cover your eyes in embarrassment scenes.

It is surprising actually how many emotional topics are explored in this funny book. I loved ever second of it. Probably my one critique of this story, I questioned that the big secret wouldn’t have been revealed sooner. How could that have not been found out. I would love to know what others think. Hee hee. It only gave me pause but definitely didn’t ruin the rest of the story or how much I liked it.

Teaser: As much I love Ian’s brother, I HATE his dad. Feeling a bit bipolar as I shift from warm fuzzy to my blood pressure is rising. Eek. Ok not saying anymore cause you need to read the book to understand. Wink.

Hope you enjoy this funny, touching 4 star book. Happy Reading Everyone!

Loud Mouth by Avery Flynn was full of witty banter, a sassy heroine and a moody hockey player - a dynamite combination for a funny and feelgood rom-com!

Shelby accidentally lets slip that hockey player Ian Petrov and his teammate Alex Christensen were Secret half-brothers which turns into a sports media PR nightmare.

Even better, guess who gets snowed in together in a deserted cabin...?

The team’s PR manager orders Ian and Alex to play nice - and Shelby is along to record the journey.

Loud Mouth was a quick, easy and fun read which left me with a smile on my face!

A solid four stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Getting stuck in a snowstorm with your enemy is nowhere on Ian or Shelby's agenda, but when it happens they are forced to recognise that things aren't always as they seem, and that second chances are beautiful opportunities for love.

I enjoyed the snark and sass but felt the book missed the mark somewhat. The couple's attraction seemed to literally come out of nowhere, and through all the hot-and-cold, I didn't see or feel an "aha" moment where I was certain they were falling in love. I also felt the author could've given us more of the MC's pasts and relate it to their character development. I was really excited for this book after reading the blurb, but it didn't live up to the hype.

Ian and Shelby make a great couple and not just because of the chemistry. They saw each others mistakes but were able to look past them and see that there was more to the eye.
Ian is trying so hard to remove from his father's shadow. Shelby trying so hard to make it in a "man's world". Even though they both know they should stay away the pull is too strong and love wins at the end of it.

This series gave me moments of sadness, moments of laughter and most of all gave me a sense that true love can conquer all.

When I started reading this book, I had full expectations of a laugh out loud funny book. Instead I got a mostly angsty book with a great story, some funny parts, and a great couple. The heroine is very different from any heroine I had read before, so she captivated me. She tried to be a badass, with hard looks but she was a very decent human being. She just wanted to balance the squeak in her voice, her tiny frame, with a hard-ass appearance. I found her delightful!

Shelby met with Ian Petrov at a cabin that they both thought they had rented to be alone for the weekend. After she tased him, thinking he was a burglar, they had to spend the night, cozied up in front of the fireplace because there was a snow storm and the electricity went out. Eventually, they talked it out, had a hot one night stand, and next day they went home. After a short stop at the police station where they were almost arrested for house squatting. Read the book to learn the particulars, this was one of those funny scenes!

Initially Ian hated Shelby and blamed her for the scandal he was living through. She inadvertently let out that he and Alex Christensen were half-brothers. Alex knew, Ian didn’t. So now Ian hates his father, his half-brother (previously his best friend), and Shelby until the one-night stand. Now Shelby has started working for the Ice Knights hockey organization and is constrained from having relations with team members.

When the fun really starts is when the team leaves on an away trip, and Alex, Ian and Shelby are forced to share a table apart from the rest of the team (their sweet teammates call it “the kiddie table”). It’s a show to demonstrate to the press that they don’t have issues with each other. Ian and Shelby get close and Ian and Alex start to learn a new relation, that of brothers.

This book was great because there were so many layers to the story. Shelby is a recovering alcoholic with six years of sobriety, Ian has always had issues with his father and now with being compared to his more talented brother. It’s fantastically complicated so that it’s never boring and always an issue to deal with. I loved that Ian mostly communicates with grunts and that Shelby gets to a point where she can tell his grunts apart, and there are even amused grunts. It was fun, had some yummy angst, and great characters. And a love story with a great story pace! I was very pleasantly surprised!

Avery Flynn’s Ice Knights series just keeps getting better! Loud Mouth is book three in the series and is the story of Shelby and Ian. This enemies to lovers story has everything you could want...two witty characters, a love/hate dynamic and chemistry that jumps right off of the pages! I couldn’t turn those pages fast enough to see what happened to Ian and Shelby. This laugh out loud story has it all!

4.5 Stars / 3.5 Steam Fans

Shelby can be a Loud Mouth, and Ian learns about a secret brother all because Shelby did not make sure the bathroom was empty when her gossip mother revealed that nugget of information. Shelby feels guilty because a rival journalist breaks the story and causes chaos on her first day with the Ice Knights Hockey Team. Shelby and Ian find themselves stuck in a cabin during a snowstorm licking their wounds from the secret reveal only to indulge in their attraction. As the Ice Knights figure out a way to fix the chaos, Ian and Shelby are thrown together while on the road as they deny their appeal. Loud Mouth was funny, sexy, touching, and a great time, there are content warnings for addiction, family secrets, and mental abuse.

Loudmouth by Avery Flynn: This novel was everything and more! I loved every second of it and I can promise any read would feel the same way. Flynn has really delivered with the third instalment in the Ice Knights series and I hope she has more books planned to entertain us in the future.
In Loudmouth we follow the story of Shelby a hockey blogger who has just landed her dream job, as part of the Ice Knights media team. Not only does she get to do what she loves everyday, work with her favourite team, but she gets to do it using her own blog The Biscuit. Things do not get of to a very good start for Shelby when another reporter gets the scope of a lifetime when she overhears a conversation that Shelby has with her mum, where not only does some major tea get spilled but it’s about the very team she has just started working for. Feeling extremely guilty for the part she played in blowing up not only one guys life but two of the Ice Knights players all Shelby really wants to do is hide and wallow in her guilt, so when her boss Lucy says she has the perfect mountain cabin Shelby jumps at the chance of some alone time.

After having his entire world flipped upside down, Ian does not know what to believe or who to trust, well it sure isn’t the eager blogger that sold him out or his lying best friend who is actually his brother. And to make matters worse Ian somehow managed to injure his thumb, benching him till him till the team doctor clears him, so all Ian really wants to do is drown away his self pity with a bottle of scotch while he stews on what has become of his life. The very last thing he expected when he arrived at the cabin that Lucy from PR had organized for him, was to get poked with a taser by the very girl he was trying to get away from.

With a freak snow storm snows them in, neither can leave the cabin, and when the power goes down, the pair are forced into even closer quarters. With tension running high and all kinds of new flirty feelings floating around Ian and Shelby share what was supposed to be a once only steamy night in front of the fireplace. But these steamy feelings don’t seem to want to stay back at the cabin, and they are forced together once again this time when Shelby accompanies the team for their away games to document how Ian and Alex begin to fix the relationship. But when Ian’s past insecurities come steamrolling back will Shelby be able to prove that she actually cares about him and that it has never be about furthering her media career, or will Ian let his fear blind him.

I can not say it enough this book is EVERYTHING! Flynn has done a brilliant job with this hockey series and the latest in settlement has just taken it to a new height. Ian and Shelby balance each other perfect, highlighting all their very best qualities, while helping heal the wounds. I love that Shelby was basically this little pocket rocket taking on this big growly bear that was Ian.

Loudmouth had me laughing out loud continuously, the entire cabin situation was pure magic. I loved how Shelby was convinced that Ian was some creepy ghoul coming to get her and end up whacking him with her taser. The laughs kept coming when they get almost arrested for staying at the wrong cabin. This book has not only been hilarious but also the hottest from the entire series. Gosh, do they have some chemistry!

Overall I highly recommend Loudmouth, you will absolutely fall in love with this hockey romance. I just hope that we get Alex's story next.

Another comical Ice Knight story from Avery! After the mess for Ian’s life unintentionally caused by Shelby, both of them are looking for a short vacation to decompress and have some peace while figuring out what to do with what happened. By accident, these two end up at the same place for their vacations and end up getting snowed in which causes them to confront everything that happened while also working through the chemistry between them. But when they are rescued and go back into the real world, things start to get difficult between them. I feel like throughout the course of the story I was wishing these two would come to their senses, especially Ian. With that said, I was really happy how the ending for this couple was the best of both worlds for them, and I am hoping that we see more of this series in the future from this author!
