The poet, Jean-Paul de Dadelsen worked as a journalist, soldier, teacher and civil servant. During WWII, he joined de Gaulle's Free French Army in London. He has used the experience of the war to produce some poignant poetry, often while being autobiographical. The poems are translated from the French by Marilyn Hacker an American poet and critic.
An interesting read, not to everyone’s taste.

Genre: Poetry
Review:
A series of French poetries along with its translation. The poetries and prose are dynamic and entralling. I liked the poetries, they have an exciting and thrilling vibes as well as extricate chills.

The poem in the book are beautiful but I have read other works of Jean-Paul and I am slightly disappointed with this one with the overall book right from the editing to the structure of poems.
