Cricket is a bit cranky and just doesn't think other people's problems are important. He learns a valuable lesson in empathy when a problem arises for him. I love the lesson this story gives kids while being entertaining at the same time.

I really enjoyed this title. The illustrations pop nicely and would be good for a storytime group. The story itself teaches a good lesson, with a happy ending. I think if the reader gives each bug a personality (read: special voice) that this could be a really great storytime read.

Thank you netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Quirky storybook about a cricket who learns a valuable lesson about community and helping others. While I found the story charming I did think the illustrations could have been sharper and more colorful.

Adorable illustrations, with such a great attention to detail in each little house. The text wasn't as compelling, though the message of empathy was good. I would definitely recommend the book though wouldn't say it's a great read-aloud.

Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

I read the copy I received via Kindle docs. The copy did not download correctly: pictures spliced and pages out of order. I followed instructions for the recommended reading app but the book would not download. That being said: My child enjoyed the illustrations.

Put Yourself in My Shoes is a cute story about friends going through a rough patch. What’s important to one friend may not be important to another until faced with the same problem. This book seems to be a fine way to teach/ reinforce empathy.

This feels like a classic children's tale. It reminds me of The Grasshopper and the Ant, which was a childhood favorite. I love the message of putting yourself in someone elses shoes. It's an extra important message right now. Loved the illustrations and I can't wait to get this in store.

This is a fantastic book. It’s sweet and has a great message. Cricket strolls along not caring about anyone else’s problems until something happens to him. This is great to discuss the meaning of empathy.

Very cute story of a cricket that illustrates important lessons about differences, empathy and the problem solving. I think this would be a great read aloud for younger children especially - there are many different focus points that can bring conversation and learning.
The illustration style and colours of the book are a unique style that really pop off the page.

The galley copy I received was corrupted and therefore completely out of order/the pages were broken in half, but what I could see of the illustrations was still cute, and the message was still clear. This would be a good read aloud to younger grade levels to assist with teaching empathy.

Way too cute!!
In my class, we begin the school year learning to accept and respect each other's differences. As well as, picking others up when they're down. I'm proud to say, this is a must purchase for every classroom!! Wonderful artwork! Characters were great! Excellent story!!
