I'd recommend this one for fans of Erin Hunter. We have animals going on missions, saving the world. There's a larger plot going in this series, so while there's a complete adventure in this book there's also a clear groundwork laid for a larger conflict that will come to bear later.

Everyone knows the legendary Jacques Cousteau but I think we need to start talking about his grandson, Phillipe. I love how the animals in this book band together to fight climate change. To me the scientific nature of this book was spot on and we are also teaching future generations to respect and appreciate our planet and to fight for the lives of our animal heroes. I cannot recommend this book enough.

The Endangereds was a really cute, exciting middle grade adventure story. I loved the idea of the story being told from the perspective of the animals. It is definitely a book about climate change and the human impact on the environment, but it did not come across as preachy. It is written in an approachable format for young readers. I also loved the twist at the end and the epilogue giving us an insight into the potential for future books. Great read that I would love to include in my school library. Thank you for the advanced copy.

While detailed and interesting, the text of this book is far too dense for the average child to get through. Even for me this is just too much to captivate and retain my attention. I very much worry that most children will not make it far enough into this book to get to any of the action.

For libraries: Purchase where you have avid readers looking for books on environmental causes. This book is going to take a patient reader.
