Not for me. I am bored of books that start with a break up. There are so many of them. Didn’t therefore get on with it at all

This book was so gorgeous and fun to read.
The setting of Paris was an absolute dream, and the author brings the magic of the romantic city to life in the readers mind. The characters are wonderful and likeable, and the love interest was dreamy and totally swoon worthy!

A must read for all romance lovers.

Paris - check! A cute romance - check! A book that you can devour - check!

OMG this book! How do I even put into words what I thought of this! It was amazing honestly! If you haven’t read it than go and do it! Makes me want to go back to Paris

A light hearted fun story, not my favourite but easy enough to read. A beach read to dip in and out of.

Two really gorgeous books all in one - the characters were absolutely delightful and I was absolutely entranced in the story between Ella and Serge. If you're a fan of France as well, this is absolutely perfect. Victoria describes France and all it's glory in Cheese so deliciously, you feel like you're walking the streets as well.

I was so looking forward to this book. Almost-30-year-old Ella gets dumped by her snobby boyfriend, needs to find a new place to live, and realises that she doesn't actually like her job. So she decides to move to Paris for a year because she once had a nice time there when she was fresh out of school. Okay, sounds reasonably standard for this type of book.

But once Ella actually moved to Paris, the book went downhill fast for me. She can't speak French, she doesn't care that she can't speak French, but after only a few days she somehow lands herself a job where she only has to work weekends and is free the rest of the week to sleep and saunter around the place. She was just incredibly immature, with a sole focus on men, and all the reasons for moving to Paris just fade away quickly.

When Ella's long term boyfriend breaks up with her, she leaves Australia to start a new life in Paris.
She makes friends with her local cheese seller starting a year of cheese eating, romance and her new life.
A fun, easy read, perfect for Summer.

A delightful read, perfect summer escape, picturing France, happiness, good food and friends. It’s a fun story (well actually two but lovely you can go straight into the second) full of humour, I found myself laughing out loud a lot. Just the perfect escapism for a summer many won’t get to escape.

After her boyfriend of 8 years leaves to "find himself" Ella decides to return to Paris where they met and move on with her life. Ella meets Serge who opens her up to the world of French cheese. After making a bet with him to taste all of France's cheese in 12 months and the loser takes the winner to dinner Ella adds cheese to her daily ritual. Along the way Ella figures out just what she does and does not want in her life.
This was an enjoyable romance read that was light and easy to read. Even though there was not a lot of depth to the characters this for me did not take away from the story line or my enjoyment of the book.

This is a delightful story. A very easy read that whisked me off to France in my mind. I learnt a lot about French cheeses and French living. The book is actually 2 books put together. I really enjoy a set of book so it was so nice to be able to read the follow on book straight away.
The story was fun and the characters were definitely likeable! I really enjoyed the whole story and would recommend the books.

What hooked me into wanting to read Fromage à Trois: A whimsically cute pastel cover, and the idea of losing myself for a few hours in a book all about French cheese that wasn’t a cookbook or travel guide.

What made me nearly put the book down before finishing it: there isn’t as much cheese in the second half of the book. I also had a difficult time relating to Ella, and it wasn’t until well into the second half of the second book where her motivations and concerns became a bit clearer that I was able to understand her.

Fromage à Trois is a sweet by-the-numbers story, like a delightful sitcom you put on to unwind at the end of the day. I would have liked a little bit more development: while Ella’s problems are clearly set up, they are often solved almost too neatly and suddenly. I preferred it when the story got messy with Ella's problems, and would have loved to see her choose more of her own "imperfect" but empowering solutions, e.g., not rushing into a third relationship.

CHARACTERS
- I liked Ella and how cool she was in taking charge of her life throughout the first half of the book. I also loved her supportive and very chic girlfriends.

- Serge is a sweetheart and I would have loved to see more of him.

- As much as I couldn’t stand her at first, I was won over by Ella’s mum by the end of the second book. Ray’s gentle advice to Ella adds some lovely depth to her character, and I felt a little ripped off that a major event for her gets passed over in the second book with barely a mention.

CHEESE
There was plenty of cheese in the first book, but I wanted more: I wanted to scroll through Ella’s instagram and pick out recommendations for goat cheese and blue cheese to try. However, this says a lot more about me than it does about the book.

There is not so much about cheese in the second half of the book, and not the same delighted and detailed descriptions that were in the first half. The second half is full with its own story, and at times reads like a complicated diary, but I definitely missed the cheese.

DAD JOKE DISAPPOINTMENT
My dad joke disappointment for Fromage à Trois is that the book is marketed as combining two separate books, and not three. The book could be marketed as a three-act love story to finding oneself with the help of France and cheese (e.g., starting a new life in France, living in France, and then the second book).

From the very beginning I wasn't sure if this book was for me. With being a French title I wasn't sure how much French would be in the book and if there was any, if it would be translated.
I needn't have worried. It was a delightful story where I learnt a lot about French cheeses and French men! The book is actually 2 books put together and it was so nice to be able to read the following book straight away. The transition from one book to the other was great. The story was fun and the characters were definitely different! I really enjoyed the whole story and would recommend the book and books to others.

I read this book craving cheese as the descriptions are mouthwatering.
It's escapism at highest level and I loved the characters, the setting and the great descriptions of cheese.
The plot is engrossing and entertaining.
I can't wait to read another book by this author, highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the character of Ella! I got pure joy from reading about her French adventures. I felt I was right there with her. If you can’t get away this summer because of COVID, this is the next best way to escape!
