I received All That Glitters by Danielle Steel, from Net Galley, free, in order for an honest review. As a male, I am not really Danielle Steel’s tRget audience, but I find just about every book she has written to be totally e gaging from page Obe In this book, you fall in love with Coca, a 24 year old woman, who is trying to make it in our world. Along the way, she runs into many problems, especially men ones However, I found myself rooting for her as she tried to surmount her problems. I don’t want to give the plot away, but this book is top drawer Danielle Steel You can read this book in one sitting because you wa t to find out what happens next. Real winner |

Danielle Steel has done it again, she has written another best seller. This book had me reading into the early morning hours. A powerful book about lost, friendships and relationships. You will fall in love with the 2 main characters. I cant wait for her next book. |
All That Glitters by Danielle Steel is new territory. I had never read one of her books before, despite picking up and reading the inside flap, and I am glad that this was the first book that i’ve read by Steel. It has made me want more of her books, but this one in particular was not what I expected. From the introduction of the main girl Coco to the closing of the final chapter, I was captivated. I felt a connection to the main character and got angry and sad with her. I might have sent a few fitful texts to my friend as I read complaining how fast the emotions were changing and how I just wanted Coco to listen to me because I clearly knew what was best for her!! Ultimately, this book met my standards for books. It has friendship, it has romance, it has drama, and it has sorrow. All of those aspects of the book bring it into the realm of being human and when a book makes me feel those emotions that I try to avoid, those slight indicators that something big is happening or that your life is going to change, that is when I really start to see the book and its characters as my friends. Danielle Steel brings everything that I want in a book and keeps it up to date with the world, including some events that have happened recently and made an impact on my life. With those details and that kind of attention, All That Glitters is a different kind of book. One that takes you on a journey you never imagined and breaks your heart just to put it back together in the end. I recommend taking the time to read this book or add it to your “to be read” list. I plan on revisiting this author time and time again to be taken on many adventures and explore the lives of the characters that she has created. |

Another wonderful read by Danielle Steel. This story was a quick read. I loved the characters and found myself rooting for them or getting mad at some of their choices, as if they were real people. Coco and Sam have been best friends since Fourth Grade. With their families of two very different religious backgrounds, a romantic future together is never anything they consider, but through all life's ups and downs they are there for each other. Coco seems to be attracted to men that are either after her money or not interested in long term affairs. She finds herself in one bad relationship after another over the years, some with expensive consequences. Sam on the other hand feels the weight of his familial obligations weighing him down and doesn't have the strength or personality to go against what his family wants for him. At 25 he finds himself married to a woman he doesn't love, in a job he doesn't want. Through 20 years Coco and Sam continue to be the rock for each other, always supporting one another, even from a distance. But one day, the differences in their family's beliefs don't seem so important. But is it too late for them to find forever in each other? As always, Danielle Steel delivers books that flow easily, characters that become real, and places that become alive with description. I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. |
I really don't even know where to begin with this one, I do have to though start off with that it was my very first Daniella Steel book I have ever read. I don't know what has been holding me back from reading her books but after this one I will definitely be reading more. I really enjoyed her writing style and was able to follow the story very well in this one. This book start off with Coco (well it is mostly about her and her life), she has an amazing life, amazing parents that love her so as she is their only child, a great best friend whom she would do anything for. She is in her last year at Colombia and has an internship at Time magazine. Life couldn't get any better for her until everything she has know come crashing down. Her parents take their annual trip to Cannes where there is an awful terrorist attack that killed and injured many people and unfortunately Coco's parents were some of the people that were killed. She is now left with everything as her dad was a successful business worth a lot of money. She soon has to come to terms with the loss of her parents and figure out how to navigate life without them. She has been left with a huge inheritance, a house in South Hampton, and an apartment in New York which is a lot for a 21-22 yr old to handle. Sam is her best friend, they have been friends for most of their lives and yes they are just friends. Sam's family was Orthodox Jewish and he of course had to marry within his faith. His parents were always concerned that there was something more between them but as the years past they just always remained the best of friends. Sam was there for Coco when her parents died being the only constant thing she had left. Coco seems very naive about a lot of things but when it comes to men its seems really bad. Enter Ed.....Ed was her dad business partner and he swooped right in when she was most venerable and basically woo'd her, made her promises that he really could not keep and Coco fell hook line and sinker. She fell in love with Ed and his lifestyle that he liked to live. Of course trusty Sam was there to warn her but Coco felt she needed to listen to her heart and boy did that come back to bit her in the butt. Ed turns out to be only using her as a side piece. Coco left heartbroken decides to take a job in London, a new change of scenery might be just what she needs. She is still working for Time but in the London offices where her boss Leslie introduces her Nigel. A man that lived the same life as Ed did only this one didn't have a wife attached. They have a whirlwind romance that eventually leads to a marriage one she thought she wanted. But Nigel of course had other plans, he plans included spending as much of her money as he could to live up to a lifestyle he wanted. All the glitz and glamor at Coco expense. I got the sense that Nigel wanted his cake and to eat it too. Coco catches him cheating, to which she kicks in out and tries to divorce him but somehow he weasels his way back in. Just when things seem to get better and Coco finds out that she's pregnant, she catches him cheating yet again. This time she kicks him out for good. But of course he isn't going to go quietly and wants to take a lot of money with him. Coco put all of that behind her and tries to focus on herself and her upcoming child. She meets a famous author to which she falls madly in love with but he is really emotionally unavailable. They spent 4 glorious years together in an arrangement that suits both of them. In the mean time Sam has now gotten married and having children of his own, something he honestly wasn't ready for. When Coco's daughter Bethanie get diagnosed with cancer everything changes in her life. The man she was in love with can not be there for her emotionally or physically because of how broken he is and now she has to travel back to New York a place she has really returned to since her parents died. The trials that Coco has to go through at such a young age are shown but she has grown from the mistakes she has made and of course tries to do better each time. Sam is now getting a divorce from his wife and Coco is thriving in her life and making the best out of things. It finally dawns on her that what she has always been looking for is Sam. He has always had her heart and its taken many years for her to realize what he truly means to her. She is very much in love with him and finally gets the courage to tell him!! Its him that has All The Glitters for her. After a tragic accident, college student Coco's life is changed forever. This book follows her through the next decade as she becomes a strong person with many ups and downs. She does finally get her HEA. It drew me in from beginning and kept me interested until the end. I enjoyed this book. |
My first Danielle Steel was “The Promise” back in 1977; I was a big Danielle Steel fan could not wait until her next novel was release. I am now reading book number thirty-one; not the annual reads as back in the day. It seems the stories are so similar, or perhaps my reading taste has changed somewhat. There have been some recent gems and since this has glitter in the title, I thought it just might be a gem for me. This is the story of young Coco who is trying to cope with the loss of both her parents. She is having a very difficult time and then true love seems to sweep her off her feet! Hmmm? I have no doubt Nicholas Sparks fans would love this. It held my interest as I was hoping for true love! Want to thank NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group ~ Ballantine for this early release granted to me in exchange for an honest professional review. Opinions expressed in this review are my own. Publishing Release Date scheduled for November 17, 2020 |
This was a nice change of pace to read during these crazy times. It started out rough for Coco, losing her parents. We see her struggle to find the right relationship with me and over and over things fall apart. Her best friend Sam is always right there beside her offering support, advice or just to be a silent presence for her. It was enjoyable to watch her journey to struggle to find happiness! Thank you NetGalley for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review. |

It takes a good author to make u feel emotion when reading a book, and Ms. Steel is that author! I got so angry in the beginning of the book that i almost put it down. Thankfully, i kept reading and I'm glad i did. The book took a turn and ended up just the way I hoped it world. Thank you Ms. Steel for another fantastic book! |
Danielle Steel is so consistent in her story telling, I started All that Glitters synopsis unread. As I began reading the story, I was pleasantly surprised by the story line. I found the story so engaging and well written. I was pulled in immediately. I fell in love with the characters and felt every joy and pain that Coco and Sam experienced through the years. I’m going to experience a book hangover on this one. A great read. 5 stars. |

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily reviewing it. All that Glitters follows the life of Nicole "Coco" Martin and her best friend, Orthodox Jew Sam. After Coco's parents were murdered in the South of France during a suicide bombing, she must learn to rebuild her life. She goes for the men with "Glitter" like Ed, Nigel and Ian, but Sam is always in the wings, even when he marries "trusty, reliable" Tamar. After Sam's divorce that left him the single parent of 4 children, Coco and her daughter Bethanie find all the glitters in the stability that Sam will offer. A must read for all Danielle Steel fans! All That Glitters will not disappoint. #AllThatGlitters #NetGalley |
I was looking for an easy, mindless read, but instead I got something that enraged me on every page. Again, Danielle Steel writes about a gorgeous, thin, white woman, except she’s brunette this time! But wait, she has a Jewish best friend who happens to be Orthodox but doesn’t like being observant. I get that! But the trope of a nagging Jewish mother started to anger me. Then I find out a sister is named Sabra, like the hummus. Yes, it’s an Israeli word for a prickly person, but what reader would know that? Then, the main character’s wife was “boring, dull and unexciting” and all she cared about was having children. I’m not going to go into more detail because I’ll give it away, but her characterization and descriptions of Jewish characters was just horrendous. I recommend Danielle to not only look at her internal misogyny when describing a skinny white Christian woman, but also her latent views about Jews. ••• Thank you @netgalley and @randomhouse for this advanced copy! ••• Book 79 of 2020 |
I love Danielle Steels books, this one had me crying before it really even started, Coco had such a hard time after her parents died and I think she was just totally lost for years. Sam was always there for her trying to be the voice of reason but she always had to learn the hard way. I really was so aggravated with her character for at least half of the book, I was really glad when she finally stood up for herself and did what she needed to do. I totally get that you have to go thru it all to come out on the other side, its part of the journey, she definetly had a journey and the book had the best ending. It was one of those that hooks you in and you only stop reading when you are done with the book. Definetly 5 stars on this one! |

Danielle Steel delivers again! All That Glitters is her latest compelling story that hooks you from the start. An easy quick read that has you connected to the characters and waiting to see what happens. Thank you to netgalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review. |
Coco is an only child living a very privileged life. Sam is her best friend and has been since fourth grade. Tragedy strikes when Coco‘s parents are killed when a terror attack strikes air France plane they are on. Coco goes through a series unsuccessful relationships over the course of several years, even producing a daughter. She is just about ready to “settle again“ before she realizes her true love is right before her eyes. |
Danielle Steel delivers another escapist romance full of riches, tragedy, and (of course) love in All That Glitters. Set mostly between NYC and London, readers watch as Coco Martin loses her adoring parents in an terrorist attack and is forced to navigate the world on her own. Though smart, her naivete causes her to make some questionable choices, b especially related to men on her journey to self discovery. Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book. All thoughts are my own. |
Danielle Steel does it again! This is the story of a young girl, Coco who is an only child who gets along wonderfully with her parents. When tragedy hits she is able to lean on her best friend Sam who she has known almost her entire life and is always there for her. Then Coco is betrayed by the one person that she should have been able to trust. Coco takes off to London to heal and runs into another devastating relationship. Through all of this Sam is there for her, even after he is forced into a marriage he doesn’t think he is ready for. Coco goes back and forth from London to New York and then to Paris and St. Barts where she discovers that the only flash she wants is someone she never expected to end up with. All That Glitters will tear at your heartstrings and will make you smile!! |
Another great book. So easy to read and her book make you anxious to turn to the next page. So realistic and her characters always remind you of someone you know. So exciting I couldn't stop reading until I got to the end. Looking forward to her next book! |

I would like to thank NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for allowing me to review this book in exchange for an honest review. From the description, I thought this book would be different than it was. Coco (aka Nicole) is made an orphan early in the book. Her parents are killed by terrorists and she is forced to grow up fast. She begins immediately making stupid decisions. The only smart thing that she did was remain friends with Sam (her friend from elementary school). I didn't like what they did to Sam's family and with his marriage either. What I also didn't like, as with past Steel novels, everything comes too easily to the lead character. Like she doesn't ever struggle (minus the loss of her parents and tough lessons she is taught by the men she meets). I knew how the book was going to end within 30 pages of starting the book. I don't regret the time it took me to read this book as its nice to escape the insanity we currently live in. |

#AllThatGlitters#NetGalley A other great read by Danielle Steel. The book opens with CoCo an only child who has been spoiled by her parents. She cannot go with her parents on their annual vacation. They are in France where they are killed in a terrorist attach. CoCo is emotionally shattered. CoCo begins to make bad choices in her relationships with men except for her best friend Sam who has been her best friend from fourth grade on. He tells her she deserves better. Will they continue to be friends ? Will CoCo and Sam develop a new relationship ? Will Sam find himself in a situation he never expected? Thank you Random House Publishing and Net Galley for allowing me to read and review this book i |
