I loved the devotions in this book. They are short, but meaningful—and sometimes the authors’ sense of humor shines through. The scripture verses selected are all encouraging and sometimes convicting. These devotions would be a great way to take five minutes to begin your day in the Word and get the right mindset for the day. I’m looking forward to reading each day from the book.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

A beautiful devotional that will be a Christmas gift for several people this year. It inspires the user and brings a sense of purpose and peace that is often missing these days.

A simple devotional, not too many bells and whistles. Basic and to the point. Completely undated and unnumbered, a plus in my book but everyone has different opinions on this.
The layout is title, verse, reflection, prayer. I love this because you can use it a number of different ways. Journaling for deeper reflection, to start your day with something that you can carry with you throughout the day to reflect on, or pick up when you need encouragement. I truly loved spending time with this book my biggest complaint is the varying bible translations used throughout the book.

NEVERTHELESS SHE HOPED was sent to me by Net Galley, free of charge, in exchange for my honest review.
Barbour Books, which is an imprint of Barbour Publishing, published this book. Debora M. Coty and Laura Freudig collaborated to write it. This is a Christian non-fiction devotional book that is filled with devotional prayers for a woman’s heart.
These authors use a lot of vivid imagery in NEVERTHELESS SHE HOPED, which makes it easy and comforting to read. It brings you back day after day! I read this book right after losing my big brother to this COVID monster, and it really helped me. I took a lot of notes! Here are two short quotes that touched me and stayed on my heart. HOPE IS A GLIMMER IN THE DARKNESS. To me that statement just preaches! I also love, HOPE IS SIMPLY JESUS!
The three sections of each day are:
A memory verse to think about, ponder, and hide in your heart
A very short devotion…But, it gets the point across
A simple prayer to start your day
I pulled this quote, as well, that i felt poignant. This is THE ABUNDANT LIFE ISN’T JUST ABOUT ENDURING THE STORMS. IT’S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE PUDDLES. I just love that!! Oh! And, WAG MORE – BARK LESS! The authors are using a dog analogy to tell us to be grateful – don’t complain. Another one I love.
You REALLY need to get this devotional! If you are in the pit of despair, grief, or even just self-pity, it will help you to crawl out. I would DEFINITELY recommend this book!

I really liked this e-book! The illustrations are beautiful, the devotionals are very simple, but the prayers really touched my heart.
I found a very interesting book to have around, whenever we want to reconnect more with God, especially knowing what to ask of Him and remembering how much we have to thank.
The reflections could be further investigated and, theologically, there are some things that I do not agree with. But in general it was a good read.

This book is a great read and devotional for any woman but especially one who needs hope. No matter what situation you are going through this is a comforting devotional to read through. They provide 'bite size' entries that are easy to read over coffee even for the busy women- especially moms. It is a great gift. I highly recommend.

Hope is a necessity for each and every one of us. Scripture often talks about the hope we have and yet, we can easily be distracted and weighed down, losing our hope. Loss of hope is dark and devastating. The compilation of short devotions is a simple way to infuse moments of Hope and Truth into your day. Each entry has a title, a Scripture to guide and direct, then a short reflective paragraph followed by a short-guided prayer. I love the color combinations and how attractive the pages are designed to draw your attention. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are my own and freely given.
