Members Club by Piet Hoebeke is a free NetGalley ebook that I read in early September.

Ahh, a book about one of my favorite, minor, blasphemic oaths - specifically, a penis' anatomy, the ideal, what can go wrong, the less-than-ideal, hard-on's, pee, cum, preventative care, and being emotionally and psychologically content with what you got. And, awesome, there was an unexpected hooray of Hoebeke working with trans patients during surgery (not to mention me learning what a metoidioplasty is). Sometimes, he often tilts their head and view things with an odd sense of humor, such as hormones present from birth creating genital structures with genetics & DNA forking off on their path for every child; the average length determined by when either flaccid or erect; the presence of hormone disruptors in the environment and/or in utero; the act of circumcision being originally meant for those entering physical warfare; the variables involved in the act of conception; and paraphilias.

Very fun and informative read about the penis! It's very accessible to the average reader while being scientifically rigorous.

Very informative and easy to understand. Dr. Hoebeke does a wonderful job of walking you through all the inner and outer workings in a completely non-judgemental and understanding way. I feel like this book could be a huge help for anyone experiencing troubles or even just curiosity in this area.

Factual Overview Of The Penis. This book, written by a Belgian urologist, has a bit of everything when it comes to factual information about the penis. We've got history. We've got biomechanics. We've got anatomy. We've got medical recommendations for a wide range of topics related to the penis from basic hygiene to STDs and when to seek further consultation. If you've ever wanted to know really most anything about the penis, this is the book you should probably look to if you don't already have some degree of academic knowledge of it. Seemingly comprehensive, though the version I read (nearly 5 months before actual publication) didn't have much of a bibliography at all - just about 5% of this text, vs closer to 25% of an average nonfiction text. Still, Dr. Hoebeke mostly relies on his own decades of experience and appears generally authoritative - at least in a general sense - even without the extensive bibliography (which may yet be added between the date I write this review in early July 2020 and the date of publication in early November 2020). Very much recommended.

This definitely an odd one to rate, as it’s not really a story but it was quite informative. I’ve never read a book about genital health, and I’d think a urologist is a trustworthy source. Some very interesting medical facts and advice in here.
