Life After You is the story of Milly. Milly is a corporate lawyer, after her father dies and she splits with her boyfriend Milly is at a crossroads.
Given her own case at work, she sets about saving an elderly ladies home from developers.
What follows is an easy read of understanding how important memories can be, learning to like yourself and moving on.
This is not my usual style of book but it was a nice easy read

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for gifting me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Many thanks to Boldwood and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. Life After You resonated deeply with me ina personal level as it deals with parental grief and I recentky lost my own mother. The author has a true sense of real pain a person goes through when dealing with losing a parent. Milly has been through a lot having lost her beloved dad and her boyfriend at the same time. The book picks up a year later when she is trying to piece her life together. A junior partner in a law firm dealing with corporate law she wonders what meaning her life has. Suffering panic attacks and going out with a guy that seems superficial, she is deeply unhappy. Somethings have to change. Can she find the courage within herself. This book kept me thinking, reflecting on what is important in life and living each day to the maximum. A really insightful read.

Following the death of her father and splitting with her boyfriend, Milly is veering from stability to uncertainty. Milly works as a corporate lawyer dealing with developers. When Milly's boss leaves to give birth, Milly deals with a customer well, and it's noticed, she is given her own project, she is to try and save an elderly lady's flat from the developers.
I liked the authors writing style, the empathy, thoughtfulness, importance of memories and learning to love yourself, weaved throughout the story. I enjoyed this book from start to finish. A feel-good book well worth a read.
I want to thank NetGalley, Boldwood Books and author Sian O'Gorman for a pre-publication copy to review.

Life After You is a quick sweet read. Milly is a corporate lawyer whose boss goes non stop. She lost her dad, her sister is aloof, and she's in a relationship that doesn't fill the voids of her ex boyfriend who abrutedly left her. During the novel, Milly grows closer to her boss, who makes some major life decisions, takes on a significsnct case, and is reacquainted who her ex. My favorite scenes were Carol's birthday scene And the author's hilarious description of Carol amd the wedding scene at the end. Milly decides to live life with gusto instead of merely living to work.

Milly lost her father five years ago and still really misses him. What didn’t help was the boyfriend she thought was standing by her at this difficult time, Darragh, then left the week after the funeral to pursue his dream of living and working in Italy without having told her beforehand. He is now back and has opened a wine bar near where Milly works as a corporate lawyer dealing with developers. One developer is her current boyfriend however it is a very tentative and fairly new relationship however his mother Carole has much to say about Milly and her presentation. When Milly's boss gives birth and she deals with a customer well, the top boss gives her a side project- one very much where feelings and emotions come into play rather than the corporate world she is used to. This time it is to try and save an old lady’s flat from developers. A story to reaffirm life , what matters and being true to your heart. Of treasuring precious memories and not letting anything get in the way (there is very good advice about anxiety- I tried it and it does work- thank you). For anyone who has lost someone very dear to them, know that they are around and always in your heart. A very special book that left me with a smile and a tear, of joy and memories.
