This is the first book by Avery Flynn that I have read. Hadley hated Will from the first time they met and the feeling was mutual. Unfortunately, Will’s brother, Web, was her best friend. This is the epitome of an enemies to lovers story as Hadley and Will try to fight their attraction and keeping up with their dislike for one another. I enjoyed Hadley’s family dynamics in addition watching Hadley and Will find their way together.

This is a light hearted frenemies to lovers story. I felt it didn't love up to its potential, I found Hadley and Will repeated themselves way too much. The fact that they call Will the evil twin bothers me he's not evil he is just an asshole. Hadley's family is what saved this book for me, and it had some funny parts.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the advance read, I voluntarily read and reviewed all opinions are my own.

3.5 stars for this cute romance about enemies who fall for each other when they didn’t want to. Will travels to Nebraska with Hadley to be her pretend boyfriend when his brother can’t make it. Hadley is in flux because Will helped get her fired from her job and she doesn’t know what to do next. Will discovers a side of Hadley he didn’t know and learns to trust people. He’s been burned and thinks everyone is out for his money.

Good story and romance with some great secondary characters I hope to see more of in future books.

Avery Flynn’s The Wedding Date Disaster is a mildly entertaining but far too repetitive “will they or won’t they?” happily ever after novel. Featuring the hate to love romance of Hadley Donavan and Will Holt, and filled with Hadley’s huge extended family, the book is cute but also tiresome as the friction between Hadley and Will continues on just a bit too long. I enjoyed many members of Hadley’s family, most notably her grandfather PawPaw, who is a hoot. There are positive messages to be found about family and honesty, which I appreciated. There is also a fair amount of hot sex, so if that is not a reader’s cup of tea, best to skip this one. I am probably older than the target audience for this novel, so I will bump up my personal two star opinion to three stars.

This is a fun enemies to lovers story. The barbs these two throw at each other always hits their mark. I think they're the only ones who don't see what's right in front of them. They may need the help of some outside forces to see what they could have together. When the games are on all bets are off and laughter follows.

Words cannot describe how much I adored this book. It was cute; refreshing; a quick read and just downright enjoyable.

Hadley Donavan has always dreamed of making it big in the big city. She worked at the bottom of her company, but she truly enjoyed working for a charitable consulting firm. That is - until she was fired after she was found making out with a billionaire in the coat closet during a charity fundraiser. And the hot guy happened to be the twin brother of her best friend. Can life get any worse for her?

Soon afterwards, Hadley was due to travel for a week to her home in Nebraska for her sister's wedding. She had already arranged to take Web (her best friend) with her as a "fake date" just to get her family off her back. Web got sick at the last minute and his twin, Will, agreed to take his place. Yes, the same guy that she made out with in the coat closet. The same guy that got her fired. The same guy she hate.

The week at home is really good. You can see how Will is hung up on people always wanting to be nice to him for ulterior motives - mainly, after his money. But he soon starts to realize that Hadley and her family are just good, decent people. But will his old insecurities about his money totally leave him or will it become a wedge between him and Hadley forever?

This book is worth the read - go for it.

4,5 stars for this absolutely hilarious, sexy and swoon worthy haters to lovers romance that I loved so incredibly much.

Avery Flynn has been on my radar for quite a while, but I just never got around to actually read a book by her. When I was offered the opportunity to review an e-arc of this upcoming release, I couldn't resist. The synopsis looked so good and after having now finished it I can only confirm that it met with my expectations.

He raised an eyebrow in question, his fingers hovering over the edges of her open dress. One shake of her head and she knew he'd walk away. Both of them would act as if this moment had never happened- as much as that would be possibled. It's what she should do, because whatever was going on, she knew Will Holt wasn't for her. They weren't potential lovers. They weren't friends. They barely tolerated each other. Yet here she was, practically burning with want and nodding her consent.

This was such a addictive read right from the start. The main characters are fantastic and everything you wish for to get in a haters to lovers romcom - the banter between them is just the best and their developing romance is endearing and suuuper sexy. They both dish snark back and forth and give as good as they get and I couldn't get enough of it; Loved it so so much! I was constantly thinking 'I should quote this and THIS. O and this!!!' but in that case I'd be quoting most of the book haha. Every page was just so fantastic and I couldn't get enough of it. The romance is intense, addictive and well devleoped. It's deliciously intense because the chemistry between Will and Hadley is just so frigging palpable - this is the kind of 'push and pull' you're looking for in a haters to lovers romance. The way these two dance around eachother, giving each other snarky comments and then start to hate f*ck... then discovering they have FEELINGS and trying to cope with all that. This all was executed perfectly.

Hadley let out a soft moan of encouragement, rubbing against him as she forced her hands between them and reached for the top button of his jeans. A better man would remember why she was awful. Why she couldn't be trusted. Why this was wrong. But he wasn't a better man. Will was drowning in Hadley and he couldn't think of a better way to go.

Next to having two fun main characters, I was really liking the supportive minor characters as well.. They made the entire cast in this book 'complete' and now that I finished reading the book, I need at leaaaast 2 more books set in this fictional world, with these characters. The dialogues between these friends and family members was just so much fun and made me LOL multiple times.

This book isn't 100% perfectly executed in detail maybe, there were some reaaally minor thoughts passing my mind a couple of times in which I thought 'ok, maybe this could've been a little bit differently' but they're negligible when looking at the bigger picture, which is why in the end I go with a 5 star rating on GR. This is a book I'll be re-reading all over again on numerous times in the future, for sure. And that kind of book, when given a 4,5 star rating, will get a 5 star rating on the platform I'm rating it where there aren't any half stars available. This book is definitely worth it to up it to 5 stars instead of 4, so here I go haha.

Truly: Flynn's writing was nothing short of hilarious and addictive. Her way of describing situations and thoughts and just everything really was utterly fantastic. I cannot wait to get my hands on more books by her, hopefully Very soon! In the meantime, to conclude this review I'll just say this:

I HIGHLY recommend this book if you're looking for your next haters-to-lovers Romcom addiction. The Wedding Date Disaster is everything you're looking for and more and is THE book you want to pick up next. You won't be disappointed and you'll be thanking me for it - I know that sounds a bit arrogant, but trust me. This is a Romcom you.do.not.want.to.miss.out.on.

There weren't any words, but they didn't need any. She met him halfway on each advance. "Say my name." The demand came out rought and hard. It wasn't fair to ask things of her when she was on the edge of her climax, but he needed her to say it. He needed to know... "Say it."
"Will," she said, half begging and half demanding more. That was all he needed to hear. He'd give it to her- everything she wanted in this moment, it was hers.

3.5 stars

The Wedding Date Disaster is a funny and sexy enemies to lovers and fake relationship romantic comedy. Such a great combination of tropes! Hadley Donovan and Will Holt hate each other. But they're always around each other because Hadley is best friends with Will's twin brother. When Hadley has to go back home to the countryside for her sister's wedding, she asks Will's brother to accompany her as her fake boyfriend. So imagine her surprise when Will Holt shows up at the airport instead of his twin.

Will doesn't trust Hadley because he thinks she's a gold digger out to trap his brother, while Hadley can't stand Will's bad attitude. But now they're forced to spend time together as a couple. The forced proximity is equally delicious and hilarious. Will and Hadley have such sexy chemistry together and I really enjoyed their bickering and seeing Will adapt to the countryside.

I think the transition from enemies to lovers was well executed. I adored Hadley's family and the role they played in Hadley and Will's relationship. Her family brought so much lightheartedness to this romantic comedy. The reason why I'm giving it an average rating is because I got really tired of Will and his stupid assumption about Hadley's motives and goals. He is kind of an asshole. Not the biggest asshole ever, but still an asshole. His assumption about Hadley is so far fetched that it is ridiculous. And his groveling wasn't enough for me. But the epilogue was super cute and memorable.

Overall, The Wedding Date Disaster is a fun and quick read. If you like the movie The Proposal, then you'll enjoy reading this book.

Will and Hadley didn't have the best start, what with him absolutely convinced that she is a gold-digger after his brother's fortune.

Will and Web don't have much in the form of family, just each other, and for the life of him he can't believe that Hadley is not just Web's friend... when a case of faked food poisoning forces Will to act as Hadley's date to her sister's wedding.

Family shenanigans abound, extreme board games dominate and an obnoxious groom getting his comeuppance make it an almost wedding to remember!

Let's be clear... this is a happily ever after rom-com. Every HEA reader knows exactly how this is going to turn out in the first pages. It was well-written, though... fun, sexy and with an interesting story line. I enjoyed the journey!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion, which I am always happy to provide. My thanks to #NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for this opportunity. #TheWeddingDateDisaster

A quick read that is quirky, steamy and a rollercoaster of emotions all in one. Avery has a great way of portraying her characters in a very real way.

This book was hilarious but romantic at the same time. I just loved the story line and the characters in this book. Hadley and Will were perfect for each other even if they didn't know it. The interactions between these two had me laughing so much. The chemistry between them was so hot! When you add in Will's interfering brother and Hadley's family you have yourself a book that you will not be able to put down. From the moment I picked this book up I was hooked. If you are looking for a book that will have your laughing, smiling and crying all at the same time this book is for you. It is for sure a 5 star read. Thanks Net Galley. The Wedding Date Disaster is a sassy, fun, and flirty romance that I couldn't get enough of. I can always count on Avery Flynn to give me a romance with characters that I adore. Will and Hadley may not get along in the beginning, but it sure made their witty banter reach perfection.

Hadley is a sweet, caring, and determined woman. When she gets an invite to her sister's wedding, her best friend, Web, agrees to be her date. She is thankful because she doesn't want to hear it from her family. Things get complicated when Web gets sick and can't go. But Web's twin brother, Will is willing to fill in.

Will is a wealthy bachelor who doesn't have the best relationship with Hadley...and that's an understatement. He and Hadley have always butt heads because he doesn't want his brother to get used by a woman like he once was. He is not looking forward to being Hadley date for her sisters wedding but sees it as a mother way of protecting his brother from another 'gold digger.'

When Will and Hadley are in Nebraska for the wedding, faking their tension is going to be difficult. Hadley doesn't understand why Will thinks she is determined to use his brother for his money. She tries to be kind with Will to prove that she doesn't have bad intentions but nothing seems to be working.

Being so close and in a car for a while helps thems bond and start to understand each other better. Road trips always seem to do that. I realize that their tension may have just been caused by their true feelings for one another. Can Will open up his heart again?

I loved this romance so much because I just adore an enemies to lovers trope. Avery Flynn's writing made me invested in these characters and had me rooting for them the entire time. I thought her supporting characters like Web and PawPaw were amazing and played a significant role in bringing Will and Hadley together.

I give The Wedding Date Disaster 5 stars. I loved this book so much that I could re-read it all over again because the chemistry between Hadley and Will was fantastic. I think Will's growth throughout the story and Hadley's ability to break down his walls will captivate readers. Fantastic romance read that you won't be able to put down.

At first I was quite skeptical 🤨 because of the previous reviews I’ve read. However, I ended up loving the story of this book. It was written in the third person with dual point of views. Hadley, the leading lady has a big heart, but not a pushover and also recently lost her job because of his best friend’s evil twin Will. The male protagonist is Will, his character is determined to prove that Hadley has gold digging intentions towards his brother Web.

The story reminds me of pride and prejudice with a combination of laughter and a little bit of family drama. The chemistry of the main characters sizzles from the very beginning. The love scenes are hmmm shall I say 🤯🥵 hot!

I finished this book in 2 seating, and I would say that I enjoyed reading it and highly recommend this to anyone who loves rom-com. This is a perfect weekend getaway book 👍 and also the type that you can read over and over again…

The Wedding Date Disaster is a contemporary romance with a lot of steam. I have read some Avery Flynn before and this one is a little steamier than her usual. This enemies to lovers to romance features Hadley and twin brothers Will and Web. Web is Hadley's best friend. Will is trying to 'protect' his brother Web from Hadley whom Will believes is trying to steal the family fortune. When Will ends up attending the wedding festivities of Hadley's sister, the pair finally start to figure out their feelings for each other. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. This was a quick, fun read, and I recommend it to those who like steamy romances with a happy ending.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC. This story felt like the author had a checklist and a rapidly approaching deadline. It seesaws from high to low to high and there's little subtlety or nuance to be found. When situations come up where there could be opportunity to build on the relationship and the atmosphere, they get short shrift.

The characters enemies-to-lovers progression is standard stuff and abundantly clear, but I can't quite buy in to actually falling in love in the span of a week given they don't really seem to have ever had a conversation that wasn't just the same old bickering. There's a lot that's really repetitive in this one, unfortunately. It could have used a more vigilant editor.

The hero also wasn't really redeemed, in my estimation, to be worth the heroine being willing to give it a shot. Though I'm aware everyone has a different threshold for that. The setup for their crisis moment was also both flimsy as hell and super abrupt. And apparently the heroine's family is only capable of having REALLY earnest and fraught conversations.

Overall, as noted, this just felt really rushed and like it had a bunch of trope/dialogue/situational checkboxes to cover, and that's about it.

The Wedding Date Disaster is such a fun read. There is so much tension between Hadley and Will. There is that fine line between love and hate that Hadley and Will that just sets everything off. Will has trust issues when it comes to his family and you get why when you get to know him more. Hadley is sweet and just trying to make it in the city and show her family she doesn't belong on the ranch. I love PawPaw so much. Hadley's family is a little nuts and will have you giggling over everything. I love the connection Will and Hadley form while on the ranch. I couldn't get enough of this one. You really have to read this one and experience Hadley and Will for yourself.

3.5 ⭐️

When Hadley ropes in her best friend Web to be her date and pose as her boyfriend to her sister’s wedding, who she gets instead is Web’s twin brother Will. Will loathes Hadley. After experiencing gold diggers first-hand, he thinks she’s just after Web’s money, and he will go to great lengths to protect his family. But when one week in Hadley’s family ranch rolls by, could their mutual attraction be more than just hate?

This sweet and funny story fulfilled every box in the classic Hallmark movie checklist, save for the healthy dose of steam. The tropes it featured were forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers, best friend’s brother, and fake relationship. What romance reader would not enjoy that mash up? While I enjoyed the premise and Hadley’s eccentric family, Will couldn’t be any more stupid! I seriously just wanted to dump a pail of water on him! Anyway, there was a lot of repetitive internal dialogue of Will’s that bugged me, and I wasn’t a huge fan of the large amount of hyphenated descriptions. By this I mean “I-can’t-get-them-out-of-my-head craziness” kind of adjectives. That’s just me though!

Overall, it was a quick and fun read, and will be a great match for Hart of Dixie fans. If you’ve read Jaci Burton’s The Best Man Plan and/or Cindi Madsen’s Always a Bridesmaid, then you should definitely check this one out!

This was a light read and just what I needed right now. Hadley left her close-knit and nosy family in Nebraska for the big city to follow her dreams. She was so fortunate to meet Web and they became best friends even if he was a billionaire and she was living on pennies.

Web has a twin brother, Will, and it was hilarious that Hadley always referred to him as the Evil Twin, or ET, as he was always making snarky comments to her. Will felt that he had to protect his brother and believed Hadley was after his brother’s money.

Hadley returned to the ranch in Nebraska to prepare for her sister’s wedding and dreaded seeing her family and all of the questions she knew they would ask. She thought taking Web would help but she was horror stricken when she realized it was Will at the airport and not Web. They had strong chemistry but worked hard to fight it.

When Hadley drove to pick up her PawPaw to take him to the ranch, she got roped into staying overnight for a dance at the senior home. The older women said, ‘don’t let them see your good china’ and I just burst out laughing. I had never heard that saying before and now I can’t wait to use it!!

PawPaw was such a character and his sister Louise was a hoot as they bickered. Family game nights were funny as they had unusual rules and were boisterous with such a large family.

The thought of living on the ranch and seeing the big beautiful sky with so many stars that we don’t often see in the city, sounded like a special time. I don’t think I would like living so far from a city though and there was a LOT of driving to get anywhere.

Will continually makes assumptions about people and while I could understand it to a certain degree based on experiences throughout his life, it got old. No matter how Hadley acted, one minute he thought she was genuine and the next he had overwhelming doubts – this went back and forth over and over.

Thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this new story.
