At first I was quite skeptical 🤨 because of the previous reviews I’ve read. However, I ended up loving the story of this book. It was written in the third person with dual point of views. Hadley, the leading lady has a big heart, but not a pushover and also recently lost her job because of his best friend’s evil twin Will. The male protagonist is Will, his character is determined to prove that Hadley has gold digging intentions towards his brother Web.

The story reminds me of pride and prejudice with a combination of laughter and a little bit of family drama. The chemistry of the main characters sizzles from the very beginning. The love scenes are hmmm shall I say 🤯🥵 hot!

I finished this book in 2 seating, and I would say that I enjoyed reading it and highly recommend this to anyone who loves rom-com. This is a perfect weekend getaway book 👍 and also the type that you can read over and over again…

A digital copy of this book was provided by Netgalley, the Publisher, and Author for an honest review.

The Wedding Date Disaster is a contemporary romance with a lot of steam. I have read some Avery Flynn before and this one is a little steamier than her usual. This enemies to lovers to romance features Hadley and twin brothers Will and Web. Web is Hadley's best friend. Will is trying to 'protect' his brother Web from Hadley whom Will believes is trying to steal the family fortune. When Will ends up attending the wedding festivities of Hadley's sister, the pair finally start to figure out their feelings for each other. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. This was a quick, fun read, and I recommend it to those who like steamy romances with a happy ending.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC. This story felt like the author had a checklist and a rapidly approaching deadline. It seesaws from high to low to high and there's little subtlety or nuance to be found. When situations come up where there could be opportunity to build on the relationship and the atmosphere, they get short shrift.

The characters enemies-to-lovers progression is standard stuff and abundantly clear, but I can't quite buy in to actually falling in love in the span of a week given they don't really seem to have ever had a conversation that wasn't just the same old bickering. There's a lot that's really repetitive in this one, unfortunately. It could have used a more vigilant editor.

The hero also wasn't really redeemed, in my estimation, to be worth the heroine being willing to give it a shot. Though I'm aware everyone has a different threshold for that. The setup for their crisis moment was also both flimsy as hell and super abrupt. And apparently the heroine's family is only capable of having REALLY earnest and fraught conversations.

Overall, as noted, this just felt really rushed and like it had a bunch of trope/dialogue/situational checkboxes to cover, and that's about it.

Oh this book was a fun read. From the two main characters 'hating' each other to the family members and their games...love Paw Paw. Truly a 'laugh out loud' book. My favorite romance is enemy to lovers and this one ticked all the boxes. Funny, sexy and great characters. Hopefully we'll see more of this family...maybe 'Satan's twin' needs a story????

The Wedding Date Disaster is such a fun read. There is so much tension between Hadley and Will. There is that fine line between love and hate that Hadley and Will that just sets everything off. Will has trust issues when it comes to his family and you get why when you get to know him more. Hadley is sweet and just trying to make it in the city and show her family she doesn't belong on the ranch. I love PawPaw so much. Hadley's family is a little nuts and will have you giggling over everything. I love the connection Will and Hadley form while on the ranch. I couldn't get enough of this one. You really have to read this one and experience Hadley and Will for yourself.

3.5 ⭐️

When Hadley ropes in her best friend Web to be her date and pose as her boyfriend to her sister’s wedding, who she gets instead is Web’s twin brother Will. Will loathes Hadley. After experiencing gold diggers first-hand, he thinks she’s just after Web’s money, and he will go to great lengths to protect his family. But when one week in Hadley’s family ranch rolls by, could their mutual attraction be more than just hate?

This sweet and funny story fulfilled every box in the classic Hallmark movie checklist, save for the healthy dose of steam. The tropes it featured were forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers, best friend’s brother, and fake relationship. What romance reader would not enjoy that mash up? While I enjoyed the premise and Hadley’s eccentric family, Will couldn’t be any more stupid! I seriously just wanted to dump a pail of water on him! Anyway, there was a lot of repetitive internal dialogue of Will’s that bugged me, and I wasn’t a huge fan of the large amount of hyphenated descriptions. By this I mean “I-can’t-get-them-out-of-my-head craziness” kind of adjectives. That’s just me though!

Overall, it was a quick and fun read, and will be a great match for Hart of Dixie fans. If you’ve read Jaci Burton’s The Best Man Plan and/or Cindi Madsen’s Always a Bridesmaid, then you should definitely check this one out!

This was a light read and just what I needed right now. Hadley left her close-knit and nosy family in Nebraska for the big city to follow her dreams. She was so fortunate to meet Web and they became best friends even if he was a billionaire and she was living on pennies.

Web has a twin brother, Will, and it was hilarious that Hadley always referred to him as the Evil Twin, or ET, as he was always making snarky comments to her. Will felt that he had to protect his brother and believed Hadley was after his brother’s money.

Hadley returned to the ranch in Nebraska to prepare for her sister’s wedding and dreaded seeing her family and all of the questions she knew they would ask. She thought taking Web would help but she was horror stricken when she realized it was Will at the airport and not Web. They had strong chemistry but worked hard to fight it.

When Hadley drove to pick up her PawPaw to take him to the ranch, she got roped into staying overnight for a dance at the senior home. The older women said, ‘don’t let them see your good china’ and I just burst out laughing. I had never heard that saying before and now I can’t wait to use it!!

PawPaw was such a character and his sister Louise was a hoot as they bickered. Family game nights were funny as they had unusual rules and were boisterous with such a large family.

The thought of living on the ranch and seeing the big beautiful sky with so many stars that we don’t often see in the city, sounded like a special time. I don’t think I would like living so far from a city though and there was a LOT of driving to get anywhere.

Will continually makes assumptions about people and while I could understand it to a certain degree based on experiences throughout his life, it got old. No matter how Hadley acted, one minute he thought she was genuine and the next he had overwhelming doubts – this went back and forth over and over.

Thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this new story.

The Wedding Date Disaster is an interesting mix of memorable characters and sizzling chemistry.

The story of hate at first sight between Hadley and Will is entertaining and the push and pull of being attracted to your nemesis made this a delicious and sensational reading. Hadley's family was a crack up from start to finish.

However, the character development didn't really meet a point where they're fleshed out which made me take away a star.

Overall, this was a light, fun reading that will definitely gave me a good time as I was reading through it.

This was my first time reading author Avery Flynn & I totally enjoyed this book. The storyline was definitely cute with one twin replacing the other to stop a gold digger & finding out the joke was actually on the replacement twin. Will has definitely been hiding the truth & lying to himself when he said he was only looking out for his brother Web when he’s been trying to push Hadley away from his twin. He’s been in love with her since his first sighting of her at their rugby game. Hadley doesn’t understand why Will is so mean to her all the time but the last straw is when she loses her job because of him. She’s going home for her sister’s wedding & Web is her fake date only Web has other plans that involve Will & Hadley. I loved how the author used the switch of the twins to set this very funny book in motion but what had me really enjoying it was that the joke was actually on Will & that he had a lesson to be learned, even if he was too stubborn to see the truth. I enjoyed all the members of Hadley’s family but especially PawPaw, he saw through everything right away & told them what he thought. I will definitely be looking for more from author Avery Flynn. Thank you to the publisher & Net Galley for allowing me to voluntarily read this book for an honest review.

This was a fun read with an enemies to lover trope that really held fast to the enemies part throughout the majority of the story. Along with that was the “she’s a gold digger” plot and I couldn’t have been happier about it. Together, these elements made this crazy enjoyable.

This was a romance with lots of light hearted fun and in which the characters are obviously developed to fit. Hadley wasn’t a hard as nails heroine, instead she’s struggling to find what she needs to start her business all while barely holding on to the life that she’s living. Will was not the hard core alpha type of hero that I love, but I did enjoy him and the rather unique voice this author gave him.

They were a lot of fun to watch as they bickered and interacted in private as well as in front of her family. Once this couple takes things to the next level, the chemistry sizzles across the page. They’ll definitely set your kindle on fire. The angst is pretty low with an uptick towards the end and while it was a rather obvious path to travel, I still enjoyed the direction this book and these characters took.

Overall, this was a really good read for the afternoon and I found it refreshing for its combined tropes.

The Wedding Date Disaster is a phenomenal contemporary romance by Avery Flynn. Ms. Flynn once again provides readers with a well-written, fun to read story loaded with characters you can't help but love. Hadley needed a fake boyfriend to take to her sister's wedding. Her best friend agreed to be her plus one. Will is the evil twin to her best friend and shows up in his place because her friend was too sick to go. Hadley and Will's tale is packed with drama, humor and sizzle. I enjoyed this book from cover to cover and look forward to my next book by Avery Flynn. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was sweet a frenemies-to-lovers story about letting go and trusting in others.

Hadley Donovan and Will Holt can't stand one another, yet we are introduced to them as they give into their primal urges. But that lapse in judgement doesn't make them like each other anymore, in fact, it seems to make their hatred grow.

When Web, Will's twin brother and Hadley's BFF, gets involved in their business, the two enemies are forced to be in each other's space for a full week. What could possibly go wrong?

I'll be honest, I could get why Hadley disliked Will. His assumptions about her are completely off base and it annoyed me that he couldn't get past the whole idea of her being a gold digger. Will's dislike as noted, was completely stupid.

But despite their supposed hatred, there is an obvious attraction between them. And a week together in confined spaces makes it hard for them to ignore that attraction. I liked when they finally let go and I thought things could only go up from there. . . HA!! Yes, I wanted to smack Will up a bit, however this story does have a happy ending. It wasn't a smooth ride, but they got there.

While some of the transitions in this story felt rushed, overall this was a light read and a fun one if you enjoy this trope.

Final note: I loved some of the side characters, especially PawPaw.

This is my first time reading this author and I have to say that I enjoyed it so much. “ The Wedding date disaster” it’s a good rom-com, it’s enjoyable, funny and catchy. I liked very much the interaction between Hadley and Will, that come and go of words and the way you can feel the chemistry between them, a good representation of enemies to lovers that I liked.
I liked that this story was written from a third person's point of view, so you can understand them, why they act the way they do, how they feel when they are together, and their past.

I liked Hadley’s family and how you can see that they are together and they love each other, although I would have liked to see more of them making Will’s life impossible and that way he could understand Hadley more, and I think that would be funny to see.
There is a thing that I didn’t like about Will and the point that he wanted to be right every time even though Hadley showed him that she was a good person but he couldn't see it, I could understand why he acted the way he did but at some point I was tired of it.

I think that if you want a good book to spend your time, this book is for you. I really want to read more books by this author.

Hadley Donavan is not looking forward to making a trip home to face her family for her sister's wedding, especially since she has been lying to them for some time now. She has them thinking she is living it big in the city when in reality she is living in a cramped basic apartment, has a low entry job and her dating life is pretty much nonexistent. But instead of just bucking up and telling them the truth she decides to have her best friend tag along and help her sell her story.

But the man who shows up at the airport is definitely not her best friend, he is the evil version of him, his twin brother Will Holt. Suddenly her trip home takes on a whole new meaning of a disaster!

The Wedding Disaster is a enchanting little page-turner that will have you smiling throughout, this pairing is literary dynamite! They battle at every turn, test each other's patience and will, and try their best to play nice to keep her little story intact. All the while trying to deny whatever is blooming between them, they cannot fall for one another, they despise one another... or do they? These two put on quite the show, they had me giggling out loud more than a few times, and of course swooning a bit here and there too. If you like romantic comedies then I have no doubt this one will be right up your alley, these two will pull you in from the very first page, and have you dying to know everything about them! And what you find is bound to keep you thoroughly entertained and leave your heart swimming in feels! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, via NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

The Wedding Date Disaster is one of those books that hit all the right notes. This feel good romance couldn't have come at a better time because all I want to read is books that leave me feeling happy, and this one accomplished that. Everything about it was enjoyable -- even the drama. There was just the right amount of humor infused throughout this enemies to lovers romance. Plus, there was a fun small town, farm feel to it that I loved.

What about the characters? I don't think I would have loved these characters as much if they hadn't been thrown into a book together. Neither really stood out on their own. Hadley was trying to run away from her small town roots and make it in the big city. Will was a skeptical rich guy with a chip on his shoulder. Will thought Hadley was trying to hook his twin brother to get his money, and treated her poorly. She retaliated. They had enemies down. Their banter was top notch, and when hate started turning to something else... the chemistry was there.

The thing that made this book, and Will and Hadley's relationship, go from good to great was the setting and the hilarious side characters. So many, many hilarious things can happen on a farm and in the small towns around it. A quirky family member can also be rom-com gold. Hadley had more than one that made me laugh. All the things that pushed Will and Hadley together in this book helped make them shine as a couple.

Was there anything I didn't like about this book? No, there really wasn't. The Wedding Date Disaster was truly a good time. Low angst, just the right amount of drama, an adorable romance. There wasn't anything for me not to like. It's a great book if you're looking for a good beach read or fun escape.

4.5 stars

To say Hadley and Will do not like each other is an understatement. She is his twin brother Web's best friend and for the past year they have not been able to get along. Hadley was taking Web as her fake date for her sister's wedding, but nothing goes as planned when Will shows up at the airport instead.

Avery Flynn's writing is witty and fun. I found myself laughing out loud multiple times as I read. Will and Hadley's chemistry shines through, even with a lot of mutual animosity to overcome. I thought their journey from enemies to mutual attraction to more was really well done. They have both been through some really difficult experiences that shaped their outlooks on love and life, and you can tell it affects how they relate to each other.

I was really excited when I saw this book would bring us back to the Harbor City series. I love how it connects to the Hartigans and Ice Knights books. There are a bunch of characters introduced here that I really hope we get to see more of, both Hadley's brothers in Nebraska and others in Harbor City!

I love a good enemies-to-lovers tale, and throw in twin shenanigans and I will be hooked.

There is so much snark between Hadley and Will - her best friend's twin. Misconceptions abound from Will, and as much as these frustrated me, I loved Hadley's clap backs at him. They say fighting is foreplay, and this pair burn up the pages with sexual tension. They drive each other - and this reader- crazy, but you just know they are going to burn up the sheets if they ever get their act together.

I feel for Hadley that she has to lie to her family, however loved how these things eventually made her family bonds stronger.

I laughed out loud at times, I wanted to throw my reader at Will's face, I just needed this pair to sort themselves out.

Oh, and I will say I want - no, I need Web's story. I feel some revenge coming his way!

Will is blunt, "one of his brows shot up. “Are you saying you want to have *** again?” The man sometimes has no self control, "he leaned down and whispered in her ear. “Don’t suppose we can ditch the group dance lesson and head back to the cabin?” I liked this book, I liked Will.

I've enjoyed the author's previous books and looked forward to this one. I did like it and most of the characters but Will made me crazy. I understand his underlying issues and he had a few good moments but I wouldn't want someone I care about to date him.

If you want a laugh with your read, you can’t go wrong with an Avery Flynn book.
I’ve read most of her work, and it always leaves me with a smile.

Written in the third persons point of view. We watch as Haley and Will do battle to see who comes out on top over a family member?
Haley Loves her best friend, but does she have to put up E.T (evil twin) or Mr Obnoxious all the time? He might be a billionaire, he might be the most eligible bachelor, but to Haley, he’s always be annoying.

Will thinks that Haley is a gold digger, his twin might be her “best friend” but he knows better, he’s seen her type before, and he’s determined to get rid of her.
When an opportunity presents itself. Will is quick to capitalise on it.
But what he gets is turned on his head, Haley is fun, kind and gentle. Did he really get it so wrong? And now Will wants her for himself, can he really do that to his brother?

It’s a laugh a minute, anything and everything that can go wrong does go wrong? Haley’s family is extremely close, and she finds that claustrophobic, she loves them dearly, just not 24/7! Thank goodness her best friend is coming to this wedding to pose as her boyfriend, but fates not that kind, it sends her nemesis in his place! And that’s when the trouble starts.
Will doesn’t think his twin and Haley’s friendship is just that, he thinks she’s after his money, so he’s going to expose her.
But spending time with her exposes her not as a fraud, but a kind and caring person. I did have to chuckle, boy did he have a lot of making up to do......
Loved Haley’s family, they were crazy in a good way. Ready to pitch in and help, but they could drive you nuts within minutes!
Games night? Was hilarious. Her grandfather was so funny. And when an old boyfriend of Haley’s turns up, is it relief that his brother won’t be fleeced by her or jealousy that it’s not him holding her hand?

So can Will see past his ex taking him for a ride? Can he get past his jealousy of his brother? Well technically Web and not Will have Haley in his life.
And when he finds out she really isn’t a gold digger can he apologise and get Haley to forgive him?

I’ve come to love reading anything by this author.
I couldn’t put it down till it was done. Highly recommend this book and this author.
