This book was received as an ARC from 47North in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

From when I first picked up the book, I felt a tingle jolt go through my body and I could not figure out what it was from but after I finished this book, the answer became very clear. I was glued to this book by no choice and glad to have read on as long as I did. Just when I had the book figured out, the story took a whole left turn and my heart fluttered so fast that the tingling feeling returned. The voyage Sidra took with her friends all with her brother in law on her tail awaiting to end her life in revenge for his brother just made my jaw drop and my heart speed so fast that I almost had to take a break and recover. I know this book will be a hit with our community and can't wait to hear their opinions.

We will consider adding this title to our Adult Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

Fantasy

Sidra, a jinn (genie) is a creature born of fire and air. She hides inside her jasmine-scented bottle dispirited and suffering melancholy but temporarily free from her pursuer. Yvette, the fairy, (from the series book 2, The Gamorist) pulls her from her bottle and takes her to see the fairy king Oberon. He expels both Sidra and Yvette from his kingdom, sending them back to a French village in the realm where they once lived forcing Sidra to face her problems. Sidra believes her spells and the village's perfumes can help keep Jamra from finding them.

Sidra's grief began when her husband Hariq disappeared. Accused of murdering him and imprisoned, Sidra managed to escape by hiding in the fairy realm. Hariq's family and her family were enemies. Yet the two fell in love despite their families' hatred and hid their relationship from their families. She didn't kill Hariq and doesn't know what happened to him. Hariq's brother Jamra wants Sidra destroyed not only because she killed his brother but because he also believes she has an object he wants. Now that Sidra is back in her world, she is determined to find out what happened.

Sidra's friend Elena (book 1, The Vine Witch) is working at her and her new husband's vineyard where an unusual stray dog has been hanging around. Jamra arrives and insists Elena take him to Sidra. She tries to mislead him, but he is insistent. He puts her husband into a fevered state and swears he will die if Elena doesn't take him to Sidra.

With jinn, fairies, and witches involved, the reader has to expect sorcery and unexpected events and circumstances. Author Luanne G. Smith does a great job of sharing the characters' love, friendship, and grief with the reader while the plot's unexpected twists increase the danger, leaving the reader wondering if the three women can outwit the powerful and evil jinn Jamra.

I didn't realize this was the third in a series of books. As I hadn't read the prior titles in this series, I was pretty lost in starting this one. Seems to be a cute series though.

Not as strong as the first two books in the trilogy and I felt that it would benefit from a recap at the start. Overall I enjoyed it, although I didn't feel the need to finish it in one go.

The Conjurer is the third book in the Vine Witch series. If you haven't previously read The Vine Witch and The Glamourist, I would suggest reading them so that you don't miss out on the backstory and get more time with the characters.

The Conjurer picks up Sidra's storyline, having been wrongfully accused of murdering her husband, pursued by her brother-in-law, and trying to prove her innocence by finding out what really happened. Once again, it seems that Sidra and Yvette's fates are tied together throughout this story. When Jamra, Sidra's brother-in-law, forces Elena to help him find Sidra, the trio winds up together again. But will they be able to each claim their destiny and defeat the evil that has been pursuing them?

I have really enjoyed this series. Luanne G. Smith does a wonderful job with her descriptions, not just of the characters and the magic, but she has mastered the art of making you feel like you have been traveling in the book. I must say that I am dying to go to France after reading these books. She also does a great job of giving each of the magical trio their turn in the spotlight without overshadowing the others. While Sidra is by far the most mysterious character, her mysteries don't outweigh Elena or Yvette. I look forward to reading more by Smith, and maybe another installment of this series.

First, I didn't know that this is a series and so I couldn't grasp some things quite a bit, but now I am surely planning on reading its first two books in the series, this one was done well, another first from this author, a spellbinding book filled with magic. My only mistake wasn't reading the first two, why haven't I heard of this series any sooner????

This third installment was a good continuation of the first two. I liked the different setting and some of the world building but the characters were a little off in this one. Of course the writing was still really good but something was missing for me to really love this one.

I loved reading this book. It was good to read a jinni's story for a change in the fantasy world. I liked learning about their lifestyle and customs in this book. It also brought these women together and to fight against the evil to see that their world was safe. The story brought out the sisterhood that enabled them to find their home and balance in life. If you enjoy reading fantasy stories combined with mythical characters in action, then this book will keep you booked!

I was very excited to have been able to receive an ARC via #NetGalley for this highly anticipated book. I read its predecessors, The Vine Witch and The Glamourist, in a days time each. The same eager reading occurred upon beginning #TheConjurer. This book was a great story and Luanne G. Smith did not disappoint with this installment of The Vine Witch series. It is rare for an author to captivate me with each book in a series, without any let down. Sidra's story was powerful and spellbinding. I highly recommend you dive into this magically series.

Holy smokes! Will Book Three be the conclusion of Luanne G. Smith's series? I'm not sure, but I will say it's the best of the three. When I was beginning Book Two, I knew that Sidra the jinn would be the most interesting of the women. THE VINE WITCH (Book 1) begins with Elena. She is exactly that — a vine witch that hones her magical crafts on a vineyard. THE GLAMOURIST is Yvette's story. Yvette is a feisty blonde who's had to be creative when living on the streets. She's had a hard knock life, yet, she portrays a mystical quality. Yvette is an airy, enchanted creature. Elena is the heart of the story. Yvette delivers the laughs. However, THE CONJURER is the showstopper. Sidra steals the spotlight from Elena and Yvette. THE CONJURER is the most exciting. It's fiery, atmospheric, emotional, and has, once again, intertwined the fate of all three women. Combining magical gifts and facing their biggest challenge to date, fate binds the witch, the fae, and the jinn. They'll have to walk the path of togetherness to maintain the world in equilibrium.

I loved this book! Sidra is my favorite character. Her story has the most depth. Smith's series is filled with sensory stimulation: the taste and smell of fine wines, the scent of fresh baked goods, aromatic perfumeries, and the imaginative scenes from rooftops. Flying on a magic carpet or disappearing through the cracks of a damp, dark cave. It was even possible to imagine myself in the ether world of jinns and the shadow world of a sorceress. Sidra's tale is the most heartbreaking of all. Her pain can be felt and as a reader, my heart was pounding for a heroic resolution. Smith nails it! Does the story end here? I don't have the answer to that question but I'd be perfectly content if it did.

Accused of murdering her husband, Sidra returns to France, to a village where she grew up alongside perfume witches. Here, Sidra must not only prove her innocence, but survive the jinni set on seeking justice.

To be completely upfront, when I requested this book, I wasn't aware it was the third installment of "The Vine Witch". And for the sake of being upfront, I was intrigued by the cover first and foremost. Still! That isn't to say that I didn't enjoy the book.

From the very first page, you can tell that every word strung together to tell this story was carefully crafted. There is something so smooth, vivid, and eloquent about this prose. For someone who has not read the first two books of this series, I was suckered in by this world. I saw it. I saw the magic and it was breahtaking.

Boy do I love this author and her books! I was so glad to have read this one 😍the third book in the trilogy, and I think it was the best one yet! It was funny, well written, captivating and alluring, and fleshed out characters that drew you in from the start! I read from start to finish without stopping, totally engrossed in Sidra’s journey ^_^

Sidra escaped wrongful imprisonment for the murder of her husband. Ever since, she has been hiding from her husband's vengeful brother, who not only wants to avenge his brother's death but he also wants control of a powerful relic..... a relic that could disrupt the world if it fell into the wrong hands. Sidra needs to harness the powers she has as a Jinn, and combined with her witch, sorcerer and fae friends hope to defeat him once and for all.
This was the first book I have read by this author, but I am hooked. I will definitely be checking out the other two books in the series. This was non-stop action from star to finish. For the scenery, I kept picturing the live-action Aladdin movie setting. I did not want to put this book down, and now that it is over I wish I had more of it to read. I highly recommend this enchanting tale.

A well written, fun story, but highly recommend reading the first two books in series first! I found the whole series, to be quite engaging! I thought the author did a great job creating this world, developing the characters! I highly recommend to those who enjoy fantasy with some suspense within! I think it was unputdownable, chilling, thrilling, and just plain fun!

This was a decent pick that was not super clear in being marked as the third of a trilogy. I enjoyed the writing style, Smith does well in description of the fantastical element for the story. However the story was hampered by the overindulgence of those fantasy elements in mythos. It wasn't bad, but it failed to capture the way I had hoped from it's description. An easy recommendation for those who like more heavily themed supernatural fiction.

**I received this as a free ebook from Netgalley**

This is the third book of the series and I think it might be the most interesting in terms setting shifts. Overall the writing was good, it had strong female leads and a mild amount of world building. It has all the magical fantasy that I normally really enjoy, but for some reason I just couldn't feel strongly about any of the characters. They almost seemed a like Mary Sue's, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just a little less compelling than what I hope for in female led fantasy stories.

Thanks to Netgalley for providing me a free Ebook in exchange for an honest review!

I, like many others, didn't realize this book was part of a series! I don't regret picking it up, though. The writing style was lovely, the characters were pretty relatable, and the setting was well thought-out!

I give The Conjurer four stars out of five!

Thank you Netgalley and 47North for the chance to read an advance copy of The Conjurer by Luanne G. Smith. I was thrilled to go from reading The Glamourist to reading The Conjurer. I feel you really need to read the first two books to fully appreciate the full background story of The Vine Witch series. The Conjurer is Sidra storyline and we find out why she was in prison with Yvette and Elena. Wrongfully accused of killing her husband, determined to prove her innocence and find out what really happened, she ends up back in the French village where she makes her home, accompanied by Yvette. When Jamra, who wants revenge for his brother’s death, ends up forcing Elena to go with him to find Sidra and claim a powerful weapon the trio find themselves together again. Will the sisters of magic be able to defeat evil and truly claim their destiny? I truly enjoyed this entire trilogy. The three women worked well together, and I found it was wonderful that none of them overshadowed the others. I found the ending was a little underwhelming, and so I wonder whether there will be more books.
