This was such an exciting collection of stories. Some gruesome. Some gory. Definitely interesting to be on audio versus a physical book for this, but definitely enjoyed!

Thank you to netgalley and the author for the review copy of this audiobook!

This book was a collection of stories. There were some I enjoyed more than others but even with that being said, all the stories were great! I loved the horror concept of each one. I don't normally do collections in one book but this one was great!

I highly recommend this read!

Horrific tales, unexpected twists, dark situations, unexplained mysteries, and disturbing conclusions. Mark Tullius compiles 24 terrifyingly unsettling short stories for horror lovers - just make sure you leave the lights on when listening to them!

I absolutely LOVED this audiobook! I'm a big fan of horror stories and these 24 short stories are perfectly written and hauntingly delivered. by the various narrators. The tales make you feel like you're sitting around a campfire - all of them twisted, creepy and often very violent.

There were none of the 24 stories that I didn't enjoy; all of them had a great pace, good character development and intriguing narratives. There were a variety of different narrators - all of which well spoken, suspenseful and creepy enough to convey the perfect tone for each of the tales. Mark Tullius is great at jumping straight into the action, while not missing any opportunity to deliver a strong story with a even stronger resolve at the end of it.

My favourite stories within the anthology were:
- 'Pillow Talk' - a young artist and his date, charming her all the way to his bedroom where his art really speaks for itself.
- 'The Feelings Back' - all relationships face difficulties, but are some issues irreparable or can new feelings create new solutions?
- 'Left Unfinished' - every authors nightmare, a book with a character they just can't seem to get right - especially when the deadline is running out.

I can't recommend this highly enough - grab it in just in time for Halloween and have a spooktacular time!

Thanks to NetGalley and Vincere Press for my advanced audio copy! πŸ’•

I didn't really enjoy this collection at all - neither the stories nor the narrators. The stories felt like they were shopping lists recited, with no soul or atmosphere. I feel the intention was to recreate Ray Bradbury and other masters of the absurd but sadly it fell flat for me.

⭐ 4 There are some real gems in here Stars ⭐️

Books like this are why I love short horror stories! Mark Tullius has a wild imagination and I enjoyed his 'show, don't tell' approach and following the clues to each story's conclusion.

Of course, a few of them didn't appeal to me but the one's that were good were 𝘳𝘦𝘒𝘭𝘭𝘺 good.

πŸ’‹ π™‹π™žπ™‘π™‘π™€π™¬ 𝙏𝙖𝙑𝙠 - is Mr. Charming too good to be true?

And the final story.....

My first horror audiobook!! and the narrators were good. I was glad there was a range of voices so the stories never felt repetitive.

Thank you NetGalley for the copy of this book.

I listen to podcasts and audiobooks on my commute to and from work so when I saw this audiobook on Netgalley, I signed up. I was not disappointed!! It is 24 short stories that had a little bit of everything and they were all creepy or twisted in their own way. So if you like podcasts like Unbearable, My favorite murder, or Murder Monday. You should check this one out. TOTALLY worth it.

Untold Mayhem is a book with different horror stories each with a different narrator. Some more gruesome than others. Mark Tullius does a great job at keeping the reader intent on staying with the story until the end. Some stories were better than the others only because some of them were a little predictable. I love horror stories and these did not disappoint at all. The writer does an amazing job at keeping the suspense until the end of each one. I do think these stories would be great for high schoolers.

Thank you netgalley as well as the author/publisher for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

These short stories had various narrators and I found some easier to listen to than others but I felt that they all did a good job. My favourite stories were the Season, Pillow Talk and Numbered Days. I didn't like Gone for Good and The mirror as I felt that they were trite and quite predictable.
They were each quite gruesome in their way and had the effect of making you feel a little uneasy. If you were looking for some nice short Halloween stories then you definitely should read/listen to these.
Warning: these are adult tales and some have graphic depictions of rape, murder, suicide and other atrocities.

Thank you to NetGalley for a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely loved this book and I appreciated it even more due to listening to the Audiobook version (my first audiobook for NetGalley).

This book included multiple short stories that were all gritty, dark, violent, and thrilling (my favorite type of books). While I have read some other books before with multiple stories, (Strange Weather, If It Bleeds) this one has twenty-four! Amazing. I found myself loving some of the stories so much that I wished they were not so short but I also appreciated the fast-pace of each story as it always kept you wanting more to listen to/read. Also, the audiobook version was great because each story was told by a different narrator which made the story that much more intriguing.

Prior to reading, I thought that 24 short stories would be too many to read, but it absolutely worked here. This was my first book read by Mark Tillius and I am excited to explore more options written by this author. These stories are definitely not for the faint of heart, but if you appreciate some gore in your life, then this collection is perfect for you.

This was a very gory book. I'm writing this review after a bunch of terrible nightmares, so I guess the book is solid on the horror front.

Some stories were pretty clever, but others were predictable or had bad plot-twists. My main problem was having quite a few stories depicting mentally challenged people as criminals or fakers. The story "Counting on It" made me feel very unsettled. It reinforces a bad concept/belief. I'm solidly sure it wasn't meant to be hurtful but I guess having more than one story with the same concept made me notice.

Overall, this was a fun, albeit very gory, story collection.

The audio is played by a full cast, which really makes the listener feel like he's reading a whole new thing. It was pretty fun.

Just ok. I think I expected more from this group so I was disappointed. There wasn't anything 'bad' about it, but there wasn't anything great either. I could take it or leave it.

While I'm not too fond of horror movies, I'm someone who frequents /r/nosleep on Reddit and LOVE a good horror story. I search for them on youtube and in podcasts. I prefer shorter horror stories and love stories with unexpected twists or shocking, violent ends. This book is a collection of short horror stories that hit all of my buttons!

While each story varies in length and builds up differently due to the narrator, they all feature something shocking or fear-inducing. Some of them are just vulgar and go for a gross-out factor, while others are well planned out and plan for a surprise ending that leaves you wondering what the heck you just listened to!

The narrators of each story did an excellent job of bringing each story to life. They change their voices for different characters. They change their infliction to bring the story to life! I enjoyed each reader's style and how they crafted the story beyond just the writing.

My favorite story was News First, which went with a shock factor. The narrator, again, did a beautiful job bringing the story to life. The main character was vain enough to be realistic and cocky enough to realistically be put in the situation that she put herself into. This story made me chuckle, gasp, and grimace.

My second favorite is the first story on the audiobook, In the Cards, which I easily related to as a pagan, myself. This one also went for a shock factor but included little details that sucked me in and kept me interested from start to finish. This story kept me captivated and left me surprised.

With over 20 stories on this audiobook, any short story horror lover is bound to find something they enjoy!

This audiobook was a good collection of stories that are perfect for Halloween. They range from believable to fantastical but were well done. There were a couple that were more gruesome than I expected but overall, this collection was more clever in its inferences than the outright statements of what was happening. I think the one that struck me most by surprise was The Season, narrated by Landon Woodson. That was well done in both chilling nature of the topic and how it was narrated. It will stick with me.
The other narrators were a good match for their respective stories as well. They all did a great job and kept me listening. My other favorite is Chris Andrew Ciulla whose voice is wonderful for audiobooks and I adore listening to his work. The story Numbered Days was read by Michael David Axtell and my only criticism of this one is that I wanted more information about the backstory leading to this current situation.

I LoveLOVED this shory story collection by Mark Tullius. I listened to it as a recorded book, and the narrators were all appropriate for the stories they read. Very talented group! It's is difficult to end a short story, and the author didn't miss a beat; every story was solid. I'm not sure how appropriate it all is for my 9th and 10 graders, but the 11th and 12th graders will devour it. (And if the youngers want to read it, then let them; it's quality storytelling.)

I think because it isn't my usual fare, I really enjoyed the twists, turns, surprises, and unnerving gore.

This collection of thrilling short stories is full of twists and turns! I loved listening to this book, as there was variation in who was narrating. Be warned, this book is not for the feint of heart!

Glad I experienced this book as an audiobook. There were a few standout stories that really got the hairs on the back of my neck standing up but the majority of them were just clever. About a 3.5 rating. I enjoyed it and would read more anthologies of this nature.

Exceptional for a select few stories, the book didn't leave much of an impact. It was a long book with not so scary horror stories. Special mention to the narrators for doing a great job though. I really liked the one with college shooting, one with the scary house monster.

After being really excited to have been given the opportunity to read this book I was quite disappointed with it. There was unexpected gore and although I am not apposed to bad language within a book I felt it was there just for the sake of it. After quite enjoying the first two stories it really stopped holding my attention. and 55% through listening to it I realised that could not tell anyone what most of the previous stories were about. I did wonder if the printed version may hold my attention more but there would still be the gore and unexpected language.

I would like to thank the publisher for the opportunity to listen to this book but it just wasn’t for me.

I love short story books/audiobooks and this book was no exception. At the point of writing this review I currently only have a few short stories left and have not been disappointed. I have not once guessed the outcome of any of the stories and have found myself freaked out a few times by the thoughts and plots authors can come up with. I personally think this would be better as a physial book (however not crutial as narrator's voices are creepy too!) as I find I get more creeped out reading rather than audiobook. However overall very clever and creepy.

Thank you NetGalley for this audiobook! I thought overall the voice acting was really great throughout the stories. I liked how there were a lot of different voice actors versus just one or two reading all of the stories. It made it more dynamic and intriguing to listen to. Some of the stories were really creepy and enjoyable. Others were just meh. Overall I enjoyed the short stories and some still stick out in my mind. 3.5 stars rounded down to 3.
