This was a cute little book about the balance of play and work. I like the fact that squirrel plays with his friends but also helps his family around the house.

Cute illustrations, but not a lot of substance. Not something I would use for educating my child, maybe just for fun and easy reading.

Little Squirrel is about a squirrel who hides nuts so that he has food in the winter. It’s short and the illustrations are very cute. This book is best suited for babies and toddlers.

There nothing wrong with the book, it just isn’t particularly exciting or special. I feel like I had read a million books about squirrels hiding nuts for winter as a teacher of young children. I, personally, feel there are others out there that are more interesting as a whole.

However, I will say this is a perfectly fine book to read to very young children.

Thank-you netgalley, Britta Teckentrup, and Orca Book Publishers for allowing me to read this arc! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a cute and quick read with beautiful illustrations. Unfortunately, the story wasn’t very captivating, and it ended abruptly. I could see young children that pay much attention to plot enjoying this, though.

"Fall is coming, it's time to get ready!'

The squirrel family resides high up in an old oak tree. Little squirrel adores playing and chasing his friends from branch to branch but he is about to learn a very valuable life lesson. Play time is loads of fun but sometimes you have to stop your frivolity and dwell on more serious things in life. Winter is fast approaching and he must help his family gather food so they can survive the harsh season that is closing in on them. He learns the value of being a contributor to his family's needs and that even though he is young he has responsibilities too.

The illustrations in this board book are well done and little Squirrel is an adorable character. It is lovely to know that it was printed in Germany on 100% recycled paper using eco-friendly inks. It is part of the All Natural series that features a variety of young animals and how they live. I recommend this book.

The simplicity of this book along with its stunning and eye- catching illustrations is perfect for the littlest of readers. The text is simple and the narrative is straightforward , this is perfect for holding the attention of the young listeners and new readers

"Squirrels favorite game is tag" but sometimes the games have to stop long enough to help our families. In the case of squirrel and his family it is preparing for winter, this simple story opens up the dialogue of responsibily and helping ones own family.

I recieved a digital copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I’m a big fan of Britta’s Moon book, so I was pretty excited to check this out as a potential bedtime read for the daughter.

Much shorter than I thought it’d be, but it’s a neat and colorful work. If your kid likes squirrels, it’ll be a hit.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Orca Book Publishers for the advance read.

This sweet autumn board book about a little squirrel preparing for winter contains just the right amount of engaging text for the 0-2 age group. The vibrant and graphic quality of the illustrations are somewhat reminiscent of Eric Carle's collage style. What a charming board book for babies and young toddlers to cozy up with this fall!

Short, sweet story of a little squirrel getting ready for winter with his family. This book will part of a series with various other animals portrayed. I think littles will enjoy hearing and learning about the animals that live among us. The illustrations are adorable!
