Little Lucy became a bit of a worrier after her first day at school. Now, she worries about everything, even walking. In this cute little book, Lucy learned one of life’s fundamental lessons, that everyone makes mistakes. It took an accident with a lemon tart to make things brighter for Lucy.

That day I learned that if you embrace your mistakes and learn something from them, you can get ahead in life. Taka Kondo

A children's book based on a lesson learned from Taka Kondo when working at his restaurant in Italy, he dropped a lemon tart. He was fearful that he was in trouble but when his boss full of grace saw something beautiful instead of a terrible accident and saw an opportunity, Tako learned a lesson.

Lucy a young girl that was fearful of making mistakes. When she was at school she worried about many things that she would do wrong. She lost confidence in herself. Her father who worked at a restaurant saw that Lucy could be helpful there. Lucy gained confidence when she saw how useful she was helping her father. However, we all make mistakes and Lucy made hers on a day that a special visitor at the restaurant was there. She learned a valuable lesson and her father took an opportunity for Lucy to grow in confidence.

Such an important lesson for children and parents. Most parents want the best for their children and with that comes the pressure not to fail. The lessons in failing is so important. It bonds us with our children and gives our children the confidence they need for a lifetime. Highly recommend

A special thank you to Clavis Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

This is a sweet book that explains that we all make mistakes and that is okay. Everyone makes mistakes and through those mistakes great things can happen. I will buy this book for my classroom library.

I loved this book with its sweet (pun somewhat intended) message that is ok to make mistakes and that mistakes are, indeed, just a part of life.  This is a perfect title for any child you know who may need to talk about their fears.  The illustrations are so warm and appealing while the simple story line shows how Lucy went from just fine to intimidated and back again.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this lovely read in exchange for an honest review

A very sweet picture book about how mistakes are not the end of the world and can sometimes make things even better. The art was sweet.

This was such a sweet about a girl named Lucy. She is constantly worrying and this is causing her to not take any chances. Until one mistake teaches her the importance of perseverance!

Wow! A picture storybook based on a real life incident that happened in a restaurant in Italy.

And the storybook mentions the real story towards the end and it's totally worth learning about it.

This storybook tells the story of a girl who's starting to get reluctant to participate in activities in school and has seemingly lost enthusiasm to do even the normal daily activities afraid that she's going to make mistakes in everything she does.

This story shows how adults should be understanding towards kids and not keep inhuman amount of expectations from kids to do everything right in whatever they do.

This is such an eye opener for adults as well and shows ways with words of encouragement on how to build confidence in kids.

Amazingly done.

However I wish the artwork and the illustrations to be a bit more prominent and the colours used a little more vibrant.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

Great addition to libraries wanting to provide SEL books for kids and primary teachers, in accessible text with soft pastel illustrations.

A charming and sweet story about embracing our mistakes and not being afraid to keep going. This was an amazing story about a young girl struggling with her anxiety and worry about making mistakes and how she overcame them, by making a mistake. It is inspired by a true event in which a dessert was dropped, just like how Lucy drops a lemon tart. The artwork was very cute and I think this would be a great story for kids.

"Lemon Tart" . . . two delicious words that make all the difference in the world for little Lucy, who is going through a tough time. Her cheerful disposition has changed, practically overnight, to one of worry and doubt.

This story has a wonderful lesson on the importance of self-esteem, and how it affects the day to day living of everyone, especially children. Life isn't always a bowl of sunshine, and this book teaches children that it is okay to make mistakes along the way.

Dare I say it? This book teaches children that when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. It takes a sensitive topic like low self-esteem, and shows that it can be overcome with caring and love.

Sweet story! Little girl agonizes about making a mistake The title of the book is actually based on a true incident! An Swerts elaborates on the tale with the twist of having a small child be the worrier. I think littles will enjoy this story! Everyone makes mistakes. So what! Lemonade out of lemons, right?! Fun story! Lots of adorable illustrations of cute littles being themselves!

I really enjoyed this book. I requested to review thinking of a little one in my life who doesn't speak to anyone outside of the family. I think this will be great for their baby brain anxiety levels and to illustrate everything will be okay -- and the message of Lemon Tart is absolutely beautiful for anyone suffering from anxiety.#OopsIDroppedtheLemonTart #NetGalley

What a cute book! And it's based on the true story of one of the most famous high scale desserts (names the same as the book title).

Lucy is afraid of failure and is letting her fear hold her back! But with the help of her family and friend Evan she learns that you are always going to make mistakes in life. Especially great for worrisome children who are afraid of doing anything wrong. The illustrations are charming and compliment the story beautifully.

Well, this little book contained a surprise, and no mistake – a surprise I will spoil, so I'll dump that in my second paragraph and say before that that this tweely presented (all old-fashioned artwork, with tiny pinpricks for eyes and huge chubby cheeks for everyone, especially the young) drama looks like being just a worthy look at how people should be OK with the idea of making mistakes. But yes, there is more to this than meets the eye.

<spoiler> So while it is a tweely presented moral lesson in not being nervous about errors, it is actually based on an actual thing, that I didn't know about – a real occasion when a sous chef turned a lemon tart into an action painting of a lemon tart, and got away with it. So not only did this bring that to my attention, but it's also incorporating it into a useful story for the young too. It's almost heartwarming, this kind of thing. </spoiler>

So it looks fine for the young, and is probably very readable for the young, even if the text can look a little small and overly dense, however little of it there is, and I have to applaud this for doing something I hadn't expected. And in that, instead of being a read-once, take-on-board-and-kind-of-dismiss, read, it becomes a strong four stars.

Ohhh! This story was so inspiring... I really loved it. I understand her feelings and that brought her closer to my heart. I recommend it with my whole heart, every child should know about it. And I really liked that it was inspired by a real story.
Unfortunately, I did not like the art style. It was too childish for me.

This is something that, I think is close to my heart. It talks about a girl who is afraid of making mistakes. I am like that too. How I wish I read this story when I was a child. I would want kids to read this type of book.
