Dot is checking into the Bug Hotel. She goes around and says good night to all the other bugs. Dot does all those night time rituals with the various bugs she encounters. She takes a bath, brushes her teeth, picks out pjs.
Dot and Bookworm reads a couple of books at bedtime.
The illustrations are very cute and the idea of bugs is precious. Night Night don't let the bed bugs bite.

I am very impartial to this title. I thought it was cute, but then I thought it was also odd to have the bug walk in on several personal nighttime routines. But again I try to view this at times from a child's perspective whereas they would see some of these routines within their family. The illustrations were very well done but I do feel that there are other good titles for nighttime stories.

Good Night, Sleep Tight is adorable! The plot is simple and great for kids to recognize that routine can be fun. The illustrations are so vivid and detailed which make for great search and seek games that delay sleep as long as possible. A few of the illustrations made me laugh out loud with their background details. This book will surely become a favorite bedtime story. The only negative is that the black text was a little difficult to read on some of the darker illustrations. I would recommend this book and purchase it for my son.

Cute. The bugs help one another get ready for bed with a familiar routine. Dot (the ladybug) visits her friends in the bug hotel as they prepare to go to sleep. Brush your teeth, put on your pajamas, go to the bathroom, read a bedtime story, etc. . . . and get a kiss goodnight. Sure to become a "read it to me again" favorite. Oh, and did we say "cute?"

This is a cute story! The illustrations are vivid and super adorable. Dot, the "ladybird" at the heart of the story, is visiting each resident of the bug hotel, to make sure they are getting ready for bed. There are a couple interactions that a more observant child will ask about (like Dot jumping in the bath with the dung beetle, or hopping on the potty next to the pill bug - and then they both leave without washing hands! But little details like that are easy to explain. Overall a cute bedtime story that a parent can use to reinforce routines or introduce new ones.

'Good night, Sleep tight' by Esther van den Berg is a children's fiction which educates the children about good manners. It serves as a very good tool inspiring them to learn basic values like what they must do before going to sleep. Young children will find this book , a fun method of learning and easy to implement in their daily lives.

In this book, they will learn about Dot, a bug. She is the main protagonist of this short book. Her place of residence is bug hotel. At night, She knocks the doors of other bugs and checks on them whether they are ready for bed or not, then she decides about going to bed. Dung beetle, stick bug , pill bug, fly, bookworm are the bugs mentioned in the book. Each of these bugs have a good habit prior to retiring for bed. Now what are these habits, why and how they inspire Dot to join with them? For the answer, you must read the book.

The illustrations of the book is eyecatchy. All the children will surely be drawn to them . They will learn a good deal from this book. Almost in every household, children are difficult to handle and their curious questions like why a particular thing is the way it is, why should it be done, what is the reason for this and that gives the parents , a hard time. It makes both parents and toddlers, not only tiresome but wastes their precious time when they could be productive. 'Good night, Sleep tight' , simplifies parents task to teach the children about healthy ways of living. I recommend this book to people who have a responsibility to look after small kids. This is one book which aids adults seamlessly reducing their chore time with children rather making it an entertainment for them both. There's nothing to dislike in the book. A must read.

This was a nice and quick story to read with my daughter before her bedtime.

The images were nice and she loves insects and has her own bug house so this one was a massive hit with her – I loved the different characters too and it was lovely story about all the things we need to do before we get ready for bed.

It is 4 stars from me for this one.

Dot is a busy little bug getting the guests at the Bug Hotel ready for bed in this adorable bedtime story. It reads like a modern "Goodnight Moon," and the colorful, detailed illustrations will captivate young kids.

Dot the Ladybird is getting ready for bed. Before she goes to sleep she checks on all the other bugs at the Bug Hotel to say goodnight to them. First, she meets Dung Beetle who is having a bath, Dot thinks having a bath before bed is a good idea so she has one too.

Then she meets Stick Insect who is getting his pyjamas on, so Dot gets her dotty ones on as well. She goes from room to room saying goodnight to the bug residents who are all doing their own thing to prepare for bed.

Good Night and Sleep Tight is a fun look at the bugs staying at the Bug Hotel and their rituals for what they do before bed. From brushing their teeth to going to the toilet. The book most likely mimics a lot of children’s rituals before bed too.

The illustrations are superb. They are colourful, have intricate artwork, and bring the story to life. I can see children spending a long time looking at the images so that they can see everything that is going on, especially the drawings of the Bug Hotel.

This is the perfect book to read before bedtime – just like Book Worm. It might be short but it will bring a whole lot of joy.

Well, van den Berg is an amazing artist and books as this makes me love picture books more and more. It is about before bed rituals: brushing teeth, taking a bath, wearing pajamas... With its colorful design, I am sure it will draw children's attention. Also Dot is very carefully drawn, with attention to detail. Bug Hotel is a creative idea too.
Pages are filled with colorful illustrations. Text is a bit repetitive even for a child, but illustrations makes a person forget it.

Adorable! This is the perfect bedtime story for your young ones and especially to explain them the routine and to prepare them for bed. The only bummer was the size of the fonts. I don’t know if it’s because I read the numeric for one but I had to zoom a lot, like a lot!
Otherwise it was a really sweet story and Dot is adorable
Kids will find this book beautiful and the story is just long enough for the audience it targeting.

This was a fun bedtime book for toddlers! Dot visits each of her friends before bed to tuck them in, and it follows a typical bedtime ritual. Really pretty and colorful illustrations and short text per page.

Bedtime books can vary in their quality. Good Night, Sleep Tight is a fairly strong one, about a ladybug named Dot (of course) who checks in on all the other bugs in the Bug Hotel to make sure they're ready for bed, completing her nightly routine as she joins them in various tasks like picking out pajamas, brushing teeth, and having a last pee before getting tucked in.

The illustrations are probably my favourite part of this. There's plenty to look at, and the bugs look amusing and friendly rather than creepy. The glow of lights in some of the darker scenes is especially pretty.

Overall, this would be a nice book for little sleepyheads. I'm not sure why it's recommended for those ages 4 and up, though. Dot herself is quite young (too young to read herself a bedtime story, in fact!) so I would probably recommend this to 2- and 3-year-olds as well.

Good Night and Sleep Tight is written and illustrated by Esther van den Berg. It is a cute story about a ladybug that wants to make sure everyone is ready to go to sleep. Follow along as she visits each bug and takes part in their routine. By the time she gets to her own room, she'll be almost ready to go to sleep herself. There's only one more thing missing! This book is a really cute way to show small children what needs to be done to get ready for bed with accompanying illustrations by the author that are absolutely adorable!
