Thanks to @readforeverpub for my review copy! This the second book in the Dream Team series.
.
-Dual POV
-Alpha male Dom with a protective sweet side
-Female character who has trouble saying no to people because she always wants to help/ rough exterior
-Some drama/action/ murder
-big group of friends. Features appearances from people in her other series. Hi, Bikers!
.
This book features a different couple from the first but some of the problems from that one continues onto this one. What I love about books like this is that even if it features a different couple you get appearances about people you’ve become invested in. I’m really looking forward to the next book/couple especially with what happened in this one.

Kristen Ashley writes with truth and empowerment for women. That's why it is impossible for me to put her books down until the last page is finished and this one is no different.
Dream Chaser is truly that with Kathryn Jenson working in one field to chase her ultimate dream and the man she lets her guard down for who captures her heart.

- A little bit of everything that I love about classic Kristen Ashley books. But not entirely perfect. I didn’t connect with this book the way I did with Dream Maker.
- Follows the same formula as book one: strippers with family issues and commandos with rocky war-torn pasts. But it’s nice to know, in it’s own way, exactly what we’re getting. Some romance books are like that. Fun and sexy and comforting.
- Loved the rocky way Ryn and Boone came together, emotionally. Although I admit my smutty little heart was hoping for more detailed sex scenes.
- And loved the new updates for Smithies! One of my favorite characters.
- Great cameos from other KA book characters. This is one of my favorite things about her books. If you’re a fan, and read enough, her other series peeps always make appearances.
- And the new big bad that is the overall arc for this series gets some serious attention and setup. I can’t wait to see how it all plays out and affects each book as we go forward.
- Overall, I had a great couple days devouring this one. Reading a KA book, for me, is always a treat.

Kristen Ashley is another go-to author for me. I have most of her books and series more than once. So, it is no surprise that I really enjoyed Dream Chaser from the Dream Team series.

Ryn is a striper that has life goals. It just seems life just keeps getting in her way to accomplishing her dreams. When the sexy, Boone from Hawk’s crew, shows her that her family she is loving sacrifices for is using her Ryn does not take it too well. She definitely takes it out on the messenger.

When a dirty cop involves Ryn in his plans, Boone steps up to the plate. But Ryn is reluctant to let anyone help her because she is always helping others.

You cannot help but love Ryn. She makes this book come to life. Well, it is Ashley’s expert storytelling, but you know what I mean.

Ashley writes heartfelt emotions, characters you can fall in love with, and humor to rival the best of the authors but when she had a small girl lay it on the line for lackluster parents, she had me in tears. She had me at Ryn but won my heart with amazing character developments in Dream Chaser.

I received this copy of Dream Chaser from Forever -Grand Central Publishing. This is my honest and voluntary review.

This book is kind of a catch 22. I feel as if you needed to read her other books first to understand fully whats going on, and who the characters are. But if you do, this feels like just more of the same.

I also don't object to the D/s relationship, I just don't want the characters to be thinking in terms of that all the time. I didn't find the sex sexy in this book. But for some reason I kept reading. I think I had sort of a love/hate with it.

Thank you to Forever Pub for the digital arc and finished copy of this book.

Dream Chaser by Kristen Ashley is the second book in the Dream Team series. The book is pretty classic Kristen Ashley with a mild Dom/Sub relationship angle. The book centers around Ryn, a stripper who dreams of flipping houses. She strips to get the starter capital for remodel a rundown home she bought. Unfortunately for her she has a drug addict brother, and predatory ex of her brother's, who both take advantage of her kindness and love for her niece and nephew. So enters Boone, the alpha male commando Dom, to take care of her when things start going wildly out of control (because this is a Rock Chick, Dream Man, Chaos series adjacent book so of course things are going to go sideways on the heroine).

If you're a Kristen Ashley fan this book is her classic formula. I love Kristen Ashley but do wish she'd stop bringing in all the old characters. I don't mind a cameo here or there but it gets to be a bit much after awhile. If you are new to Ashley, I'd recommend starting with Rock Chicks or the Dream Man series first. This book could stand alone, but it would all make a lot more sense having read those books first.

I really want to like this series. I feel like if it was my first introduction to Kristen Ashely's work that I would love it. But having read most of her back list more than half a dozen times each I just feel like this series lacks what her previous stories had. I read the entire book, and enjoyed it, but it felt like a recycled storyline with familiar characters who's names had changed.

Worth reading, it was easy, and had a lot going on so it'll keep your interest. Just didn't love it.

I promise a quicker review, I know when talking about any Kristen Ashley book...That is a challenge, but I will try. Dream Chaser is a terrific follow up to Dream Maker. This series rings closer to vintage KA feel and that makes it a winner for me.

Ren is a strong very capable woman who has this soft spot for family, especially little people, meaning her nieces and nephews. Ren has been the one person in her life she could depend on and this early education has made her see things a certain way. She has looked out for her brother and now his kids causing her to put her dream on hold.

Dreams she has that are serious and possible. She bought a house to flip, works hard at Smithie's club as a stripper to make the extra to put towards this project yet, Ryn has had set back after set back due to her brother's ex asking for money for the kids, etc. Ryn doesn't want a repeat of the hard times she had, so at every call, she drops everything and takes care of the kids, and coughs up the money. All of this keeps getting in the way of her doing what she really wants.

Boone is someone who has wanted to make things easier for Ryn. She has shot him down a few times ( I certainly wouldn't) and so he has backed away. Boone is part of the security firm that most of the guys work with and he has all of the tools needed to look into Ryn's situation, familywise.

And He Does...
He lets Ryn know the True Knitty Gritty about the scam her brother's ex is pulling and from that moment on...This story takes off on many tracks...

The Ryn/Boone relationship which has the taste of BDSM Lite, the family conflicts, the "Dream Team" women, and other past characters from the Rock Chicks and Man series. It has lots of humor, fun, sexy times, and plot points readers from those past series will recognize.

I happened to enjoy it, liking the journey I went on, learning about the next couple for Dream Spinner, and it was just the right kind of read for 2020.

I started Dream Chaser by Kristen Ashley about a millisecond after it loaded onto my Kindle app. I was fresh off a reread of Dream Maker, so I was more than ready to dive into Boone and Ryn’s story. From the very first page of Dream Chaser, Kristen Ashley holds nothing back, packing emotional punches with a few choice words, and establishing the larger-than-life personalities of her characters just with their eventful introductions. The pairing of the fiercely protective, Dominant commando and the sexually submissive, yet stubbornly independent exotic dancer definitely makes for an unforgettable pairing. ⠀

Kristen Ashley is famous for her take-charge, no-nonsense commanding type of heroes, and Boone Sadler is exactly the gruff, growly Alpha male that I love to read about. Throw in his secret sweet side, plus his proclivity for control in the bedroom, and Boone will have you alternating between blushing and swooning. Boone is the perfect counterpart to Ryn Jansen, who’s a natural caretaker and loyal to a fault, yet emotionally guarded when it comes to the opposite sex. They both come with a considerable amount of baggage, which leads to plenty of mess, pain, and heartache. But this is a Kristen Ashley novel, and only KA can get you hot and bothered minutes after making you bawl your eyes out. Boone and Ryn have palpable chemistry, an overwhelming mutual attraction, and an unparalleled physical connection- a potent combination that’ll have your heart racing just as much as the danger-ridden, suspense-filled storyline. ⠀

With a fast-paced, action-packed narrative, a romance that’s achingly sweet, swoon-worthy, and off-the-charts steamy, and characters that’ll wreak havoc with your emotions, Dream Chaser is an exhilarating read that’s impossible to put down once you get started

This is Boone and Ryn's story. It touches on a lot of BDSM, which I wasn't really expecting. I love the way Kristen Ashley writes so I was entertained and pulled in.

Action-packed, alluring, and risqué!

Dream Chaser is a fervid, edgy tale that features the busy, chaotic stripper, Ryn who finds herself the next one on Lotties’s list to be set up, but between her dysfunctional extended family and her recent association with the criminal on the run, Cisco, she has no time to start a relationship with the macho, black ops commando, Boone who may not only be the perfect protector out of the bedroom but the Dom she needs in it.

The writing is passionate and enticing. The characters are strong-willed, vulnerable, and kind. And the plot, including all the subplots, is a fevered blend of friendship, familial drama, sisterhood, chaos, dangerous situations, sizzling attraction, romance, a little BDSM, and a lot of dirty talk.

Overall, Dream Chaser is a tantalizing, dramatic, sexy addition to the Dream Team series by Ashley that has all the elements you look for in a romantic suspense tale with its heat, danger, sexual tension, and happy-ever-after ending.

I am a huge fan of Kristen Ashley, and her books are like a warm cup of cocoa on a cold winter’s day. I have been having trouble reading rather than listening to books lately, but it seems like I may not have that problem with my tried and true favorite authors because I dove right into Dream Chaser and didn’t come up for air until I finished.
The Dream Team books feature the strippers from Smithies, but we get visits from the Rock Chick, Dream Man and Chaos series throughout (See my Complete Guide to Kristen Ashley). Now that Lottie has found her guy in Mo the commando, she wants all her girls to find her happiness, so she is setting them all up with commandos. And this folks, is the making of a Dream Team.

"I was really, really lucky I had these really good guys."

Ryn is a stripper at Smithies. Her real desire is to flip houses. She bought her first flip, but because of a family situation, she is so busy watching her brother’s kids and giving his family money that she can’t work on the house. In fact, she needs to strip more to afford to take care of them.

For me, the key to loving a book is loving the characters, especially the heroine. And I loved Ryn. She is loyal, happy, and kind, maybe to a fault. I especially love when the heroine has a great group of girlfriends. Dream Chaser had the potential to be great in that area, but I felt like a lot of the girlfriend stuff was off-screen. I would have liked to have seen it more.

“I want to take you out to dinner. I want to take you to my bed. And eventually, I wanna tie you to it. And I’m used to getting what I want.”

I really loved Boone, though he messed up pretty badly. He’s wanted Ryn for a while and she wouldn’t go there. But in typical KA style, the damsel was in distress, and Boone and the Commandoes drove in on their white steeds. In fact, Hawk’s commandoes, Nightingale investigations, and Chaos all pitched in to help.

I was a little worried about the BDSM aspect of the storyline. I just wasn’t in the mood for a ton of kinky sex instead of story. I was actually very pleased with that aspect of the book. It was hot, but it wasn’t a gigantic part of the story. Boone and Ryn were perfect for each other, and they had amazing communication.

Likes:

•Had the old-school KA feel.
•Sexy BDSM scenes, but they were never overwhelming.
•Visits from so many favorite characters.
•Got me out of a bit of a reading rut.
•It was a fun, feel-good read with romance, drama, and excitement.
•A sassy heroine and a dominant alpha hero.

Dislikes:

•As much as I say I like the old-school feel, sometimes Dream Chaser felt a little old fashioned. Feminists might really be disappointed in this. Nowadays men just can’t walk in and take over a woman’s life, but this is what KA heroes do.
•I felt like a lot of the stuff happened off page and we were told about it after.

The Down & Dirty:
There is nothing like the feel of reading a Kristen Ashley book. In the misery of this pandemic, Kristen Ashley provides the ultimate comfort read. There was nothing particularly new about Dream Chaser. The heroine has a shit family that got her involved in stuff that she needed an alpha man to force his way into her life to protect her. It’s the plot of many of Kristen Ashley’s books, but I eat them up like candy and Dream Chaser is no exception. I can’t wait until we get Axl and Hattie’s book!

Kristen Ashley know how to write sweet, heartfelt and sexy.

➵ Hero : Boone Andrew Sadler is not just a commando, he’s a member of the Extreme Alphas Club, which means he’s hyper protective and domineering in and out of bed and would love nothing more than to explore the attraction between them.

➵ Heroine : Kathryn Jensen’s dream job is to be able to flip houses. She has the perfect first one and only needs to save up enough to start with the remodel. As an exotic dance she should have enough, but lately her money has gone to help out her niece and nephew. Until she finds out she’s being swindled and even though the messenger is uber hot and would like to go out with her, she’s not willing to take a chance on him.

➵ Plot/Pace : Ryn is incredibly sweet, caring of her family, and a submissive, but she’s not a doormat and even though she’s incredibly attracted to Boone, the Dom in him seems too much to handle for her because of problems in such past relationships. But he’s determined to get her and once he gets a foot in the door, he’s all in. As in, he’s resolute in not only satisfying her, but also being there for her, which includes protecting her from her family and the dirty cops that have taken an interest in her.

➵ Feels : While the two deal with outside drama and kidnappings, they also try to figure out their feelings for each other as they navigate the baggage they each bring to the relationship. I missed how extremely protective and caring Ashley’s heroes can be. I loved that Boone was also able to show his vulnerable side and Ryn was there to help him.
“He kissed like Boone. Man and alpha and strength and protector and Dom.”

I loved that the characters were relateable and down to earth. In essence they were good people who deserved their happiness. But to get there, they did need some help from their friends which consisted of new and old characters. I loved the cameos from previous books in the spinoff series and can’t wait to read more of the new.

➵ Sexiness : Although Boone and Ryn had a delicious D/s relationship, the sexy times were downright HOT, but for the BDSM’s lovers, I feel that that aspect was on the light side. Which of course didn’t detract from the overall story.

➵ Facts: Dream Chaser book #2 of the Dream Team series by Kristen Ashley. A spinoff the Dream Man & Rock Chick series. Told from both points of view, with a happy ending. Subgenres: Romantic Suspense| BDSM | Contemporary Romance

Ryn Jansen has been holding Boone Sadler at bay even though he’s kind of her dream man. She’s afraid to take a chance fall hard and then lose him. But circumstances, and a kidnapping make her throw caution to the wind and go for it.

Boone Sadler is tired of seeing Ryn taken advantage of by her family and so he takes steps to open her eyes. Even though Ryn is glad to know about her family’s deceptions, she isn’t thrilled by how Boone took it upon himself to butt in without her permission or request. She’s pushed Boone away, but a threat makes it impossible to stay away from her. They have to sort out their hang-ups all the while trying to find out where the danger is coming from and how to neutralize it.

I’ve been a fan of Kristen Ashley for a long time. She definitely has her own signature brand of storytelling and it comes through in Dream Chaser. Ryn is typical of her heroines, strong and sassy, but with a few insecurities. Ryn has her a posse of female friends there for her when she wants to have fun or needs counsel or support, and I’ve always appreciated that Ms. Ashley usually makes positive female friendships part of her romances. There’s a little bit of a BDSM to this romance, but it was so light and didn’t really feature much, IMO.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Kristen Ashley without an Alpha hero and Boone fit the bill nicely. He was a jerk to Ryn in their first fight, and I was seriously ticked at him! I think Ryn got over it a little more quickly than I would’ve, but this is fiction and fun and so it was easy to get past that.

I think long-time fans will enjoy that this felt like Kristen Ashley getting back to her roots. I look forward to Axl and Hattie’s story next!

After Lottie successfully set up their friend Evie and Mag, the rest of the Dream Team has been shying away from their hook-ups. Ryn Jansen doesn’t have any interest in Boone Sadler despite their obvious attraction to each other. She’s been let down by men before and isn’t willing to trust that he’ll be any different. When he shows up with information that her ex sister-in-law has been conning her out of money she’s upset for two reasons. She got conned by her family, but also Boone butted into her business! Despite his good reasons, Ryn is not happy but this time he isn’t giving up. When a bad guy kidnaps her for info, Boone becomes all alpha male claiming her as his, determined to get to the bottom of her kidnapping and to protect her with his life.

I did not read the first book in this series, Dream Maker, before I read Dream Chaser, but I certainly went to my kindle and downloaded it immediately upon finishing this novel. It was so much fun! The Dream Team series is a spin off of the Rock Chick series, one of my favorites. These novels were about fun, friends, and yes their alpha men, but the heart in these books make them easy to read and love. Dream Team was exactly the same, a return to the hay day of Kristen Ashley writing. Or at least when I liked her writing more.

What can I say about these characters? The Dream Team are strippers but like Julie Roberts in Pretty Woman, these strippers are only doing it for the money, not because they enjoy stripping. Like the Rock Chicks before them, there is an underlying plot running between the novels, so while I didn’t read Dream Maker first, if you have that chance, I’d read them in order. Also, I liked Dream Maker even more than I did Dream Chaser. Ryn has a family who takes advantage of her, taking her money, keeping her from pursuing her own dreams. Boone with his direct approach helps her come to terms with them.

As with KA’s more recent novels, Dream Chaser has some hard core sex scenes, but you know what? She did a lot of fade aways in this series too. It was a good blend of showing some action and not giving too much. Or at least it was to me. I like a story with my romance and I found it in this novel. In fact, this is why I started reading Dream Maker immediately upon finishing. This book took me back to why I had initially liked Kristen Ashley so much. Let’s hope she continues in this vein, or at least that there are a LOT of books in this series.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review and it was honest.

Thank you to the fantastic team at Forever for the ARC.

Well, another Dream Team story is over, and I hate to say this again, but Kristen Ashley needs a fresh start. Like, get out of Denver, move far, far away and have another set of people worry about another set of issues. We need to stop intertwining Chaos with Rock Chicks and Dream Men. I mean, I get that was the whole concept of the series, but I can't picture any type of fresh start here cause I keep getting these flashbacks of when I read the original story.

That said, the book itself is ok, you have the main heroine who doesnt exploit the stripper concept, but you again have an alpha male comando that quite honestly, Im completely over with. It's just more of the same with a different title. Though I particularly enjoy her writing style, I feel some dialogues are repeated. Sex scenes decreased WAAAAYYY too much, and if you put a Dom and a Sub in a book description yet you DONT showcase at least one scene properly described, then we have a confusing role there. I get it he wasnt into the whole role playing, but she's done a few good Dom-Sub scenes in the past without too much into it that actually got the job done. This one? Other than the scarf, zero.

Sorry to be blunt, but besides the fact that Sussanah Jones rescued the story by narrating it, I am seriously reaching the end of my book love affair w KA.

DREAM CHASER is the second instalment in Kristen Ashley’s contemporary, adult DREAM TEAM erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on a group of women, exotic dancers, who call themselves the Dream Team. This is exotic dancer Kathryn ‘ Ryn’ Jansen, and fixer / commando Boone Sadler’s story line. DREAM CHASER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is an on-going premise throughout. The DREAM TEAM series is a spin off from the author’s Rock Chick, Chaos and Dream Man series, and several characters cross-over for familiarity and cohesion.

NOTE: If you have not read book one DREAM MAKER there may be spoilers in my review.

Told from first person perspective (Ryn) and third person (Boone) following several different paths, DREAM CHASER follows in the weeks after the Dream Girls were abducted and subsequently rescued by the ‘commandos’, a group of former US soldiers who now worked domestic civilian contracts for Hawk Delgado, but in the months following the abduction, Ryn Jansen would find herself under the protection of commando Boone Sadler, a man she believes despises the ground upon which she walks. An invitation to a Dom/sub event finds sub Ryn Jansen facing her abductor, a man who is trying to prove that he is innocent of the accusations of killing a police officer, but a man who is also protective of our story line heroine. Another murder pulls Ryn into the spotlight as the commandos begin a search for a dirty cop, and Ryn becomes the target of betrayal and revenge. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Ryn and Boone, and the potential fall-out as the threats against our heroine increase, and Ryn struggles with Boone’s need to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love.

Meanwhile, Ryn’s dysfunctional family begins to implode as her brother Brian and his ex Angelica’s contentious relationship spills over into the lives of their children. As Ryn has been more of a mother to the children then their own parents, our heroine will be pushed from their lives when she refuses to continue to enable her alcoholic brother, and the mother he once loved.

Ryn Jansen wants to flip houses but two steps forward always results in one step back every time Brian or Angelica call looking for money or help. As a ‘sub’ in the BDSM life, Ryn is hoping to find someone who will give in to her needs but Ryn hasn’t had much luck when it comes to Doms or love. An independent and feisty heroine, Ryn is pulled in too many directions including falling for a man who may or may not be falling for her. Boone Sadler is a former US soldier, now working as a commando for Hawk Delgado, and a Dom in the BDSM lifestyle. Boone is not currently looking for a sub but finds a willing participant in Ryn Jansen, a woman who stirs something deep within our story line hero. The $ex scenes are intimate and erotic but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word, often used for shock value more than anything else. The BDSM, Dom/sub premise is prevalent throughout the story but moderate to minimal in content and form, limited to a few light scenes, and not at all kinky or carnal.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar, secondary and supporting characters including Hawk Delgado, Augustus Auggie Hero, Chaos MC members Joker and Hound; Mo and Lottie, Mag and Evie; Elvira, Axl, the Rock Chicks; the ‘Dream Team’ dancers, Pepper, Ava and Hattie; their boss Smithie, and security specialist and Smithie’s nephew Dorian; Mama Nana, and her security guard Jorge; and Cicso aka Brett Rappaport. We are introduced to Ryn’s mother, brother Brian, his ex Angelica, and their children Jethro and Portia, and Angelica’s mother Brenda; Boone’s parents Anne-Marie and Porter; Domme Corinne Morton; detectives Mueller and Bogart. Hattie and Axl’s story line is next in DREAM SPINNER.

DREAM CHASER is a story of family, relationships, betrayal and love. The premise is heart breaking and emotional; the romance is seductive and captivating; the characters are energetic, strong and charismatic.

This was my first attempt at reading a Kristen Ashley book and although I can recognize that the woman can obviously write, I just wasn't feeling this book. I did at first but it's way too wordy and perhaps it's just this time of year, but I'm bored and skimming pages just to get to the 'good stuff'. It's a complicated kind of tale and the characters are endearing for the most part but for now it's a dnf with hopes I'll go back to read it when my mind is clearer and I don't mind all the many, many details that cloud each page.

2.5 stars, so far

I loved Dream Chaser so much that after reading it I re read some of her other books!I have missed her writing!Dream Chaser was exactly what I needed, it was heartwarming , fast paced and captivating.

I adored Ryn and Boone, they were just amazing! They have some sweet and intense moments.I fall in love with them.
