I am still fanning myself y'all! What did I just read!? I had never read a Rachael Reilly book so this was my first book by her. This book is a short smutty read about a middle school librarian and aspiring writer Julia Morgan who is single at the start of the book . Her loser ex had labelled her boring in bed so she decides to visit Behind Closed Doors an adult store where she meets Clay. Y'all it was steamy from there on and we not complaining . I think the plot was solid and characters lovable . Great book to read on a Friday night with burning scented candles and snacks

Huge thanks to the publisher for my ARC

At first amusing. The story is less than 60 pages, so don't expect too much in the way of plot. It's for the most part a collection of set-ups for sex between Julia and Clay.

Clay's sex talk was a turn-off. Most of it was just a variation on "I want to do you hard". To which Julia kept replying "please, Clay."

This story has a great meet cute and it seemed like it could be a fun little inst-lust read BUT I could not get over some very confusing descriptions of female anatomy in this book. I wanted to like this but it seems like it was written by someone who can't find a clit.

This book was both fun and frustrating!

Julia's horrible ex told her she was boring in bed, so she sets out to the sex toy shop in the next town to try to spice things up a bit for herself. There she meets Clay, the owner of the shop, who is super sexy. They immediately fall in lust. Or is it love?

I really enjoyed the premise of this story and Macy, Julia's best friend, is amazing. However, this is only a novella and it could really use the space of a full-length novel; everything just happens too quickly. I also get so frustrated with Clay calling Julia "Coug", short for cougar, because she is 3 years older than him; that difference is irrelevant and it does not come across as sexy at all! If you aren't interested in a fully fledged out story and just want a quick sexy read, you might enjoy this more than I did.

A librarian that blows all preconceived ideas of them, clear out of the water. This one has a life outside her work. She is also sassy and wants a man, whom she meets. He is just what she needs and provides all the care and attention she needs
A mix of high sensuality in the writing between the characters and about their lives in general, creates a surprisingly decent plot for this novella. It's enough to make the reader feel sassy and all the emotions.

This was a super steamy romance. hot and heavey. if that's not your thing, then maybe skip this one. because it is way steamy. way.

The book is barely 62 pages but it felt longer to me because of the writing style. This is an erotic read about a librarian and a sex shop owner, there's little build-up to their relationship and more description of the sex scenes but they love each other. There's drama at about 74% of it created by her slime ball of an ex-boyfriend.
So based on erotica I guess it tallies the mark but is not a book I'll recommend.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book received from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It was okay. It feels like it's missing the beginning and the end of the story. There's more to life than a man that's good in bed - and this makes the protagonist seem so meek and lacking feminism power. Would not recommend anyone spending money on this book.

Julia has been single for months. I was immediately turned off by the talk of a sex store and didn't want to finish. I wasn't interested in the characters.

This was mercifully a short read. But that meant absolutely no character development. These were some of the flattest characters I've ever read. The most frustrating part of this book is the names the hero calls the heroine, especially Coug when she is only 3 years older than him. Interesting premise but horrible execution

WOW ... talk about smokin' HOT!

Julia is a school librarian whose ex cheated on her and now she's been without for awhile. So she goes into a sex toy store to find something to help her through this dry spell. But she never expected to have the hunky owner be that something.

This is a very short and sexy read! I really liked how even though Julia was a little older than Clay, he didn't let that stop him from getting to know her. I also really liked that he was smitten with her right from the start. Although the steamy scenes were very ... well, steamy ... I actually thought that Clay would be more experimental with Julia because of where he worked. A great debut book for this author.

Behind Closed Doors is a fun and quick read. It's really more of a short story with chapters than a novella and I read it in one sitting. That said, it is quite a bit of fun. We have romance, a bit of a problem to overcome and it's quite hot. Don't let the length fool you into thinking that there isn't plenty here.
Behind Closed Doors is the name of a sex shop that Julia, a middle school librarian decides to visit. She broke up with her previous boyfriend over a month ago and has been missing sex. She decides to take matters into her own hands. While at the shop, she runs into owner Clay and from the second that they meet the chemistry between them is explosive.
The relationship between Julia and Clay is fast-moving but still enjoyable to watch it unfold. There isn't a lot of space for huge discoveries or deep developments, but that's not always what you're looking for. This was a good quick read and I'd certainly be keen to see more from this author.

A very short and steamy read. Julia and Clay have an instant attraction, and boy does it play out in this book. There is a lot of sex, and slight plot line.

At slightly more than 60 pages, this story packs a decent punch. I actually thought it was going to be straight smut ala Alexa Riley but no, this one actually has a pretty decent storyline.

Yes, it was insta-attraction between Julia and Clay (it is a 60-pager, after all) but for me, Julia and Clay make sense.

There is some drama involve (which I do not expect since this is like a short story for me). So if you are worried that Julia and Clay are going straight into the sunset after a hot roll in bed, worry not. There is some shit that needs to be thrown out here, if you are into something like that...

For a debut novel, I think BCD is a fairly good start. Of course, a longer story wouldn't go amiss.

This book is about a small town librarian who's life changes when she meets Clay, the owner of a sex shop chain.

This is a sweet and easy read, I read it in about an hour. I'm new to this genre but even in romance novels, I find the sexy parts can be a bit random and cheesy. This book was different; they were well thought out and flowed really well.

Highly recommend for a quick read that makes you feel good!

I loved Julia and Clay's love story. Very hot! I kept saying "you go girl", and cheering Clay on when he just shows up out of the blue to ask for the first date. Behind Closed Doors is a great book with a very happy ending.
