The Duplicate Bride is a romance based on the identical twin switcheroo trope. Although the book had a lot of promise, it didn’t quite meet the expectations. The plot required you to suspend your disbelief completely and not enough chemistry between the leads. That being said, the characters had a lot of promise. And I'm very interested in the mc's sister's story

The plot of this story is over the top and you need to throw your moral compass out the door. If you can do that you will find a story about a compassionate sister that is trying to help her twin win over her fiancés parents into liking her while in the process she falls in love with her sister fiancé. This was an easy read and found it enjoyable.

Jackie is engaged to Brent Albright, a hotel magnate, but she needs her twin sister Hope to fill in for her at some of the pre-wedding activities. The only problem is that while they might look alike, they really couldn’t be more different. And what happens when Brent and Hope start to realize they’re much more suited for each other than Jackie and Brent ever were?

Brent’s family is adorable, and all the characters are pretty likable. It’s like a grown-up version of The Parent Trap. Is it completely far-fetched that no-one would notice they had switched places? Yes, absolutely, but you just have to roll with it.

Something that did really bother me though was the lack of content, and I don’t feel like that was adequately addressed in the book. Not just that Brent thought he was kissing his fiance and was in-fact kissing someone else, but the intimacy of spending time together, with family, preparing for a wedding etc. I feel like if the genders were reversed and it was a man who stepped in to take his twin brother’s place, and took advantage of an unsuspecting woman we’d all be outraged. And yes the engagement between Jackie and Brent is basically a business deal, but if I were Brent that wouldn’t make me feel any less violated or make it easier for me to trust again.

If you’re able to put those issues aside, the book is a fun, clean romance.

I received a copy of this book to review from Netgalley. Thank you for the opportunity.
I really enjoyed this book as it was fun, lighthearted read with plenty of heart. It put in mind a romcom whilst I was reading it. The writing is very good and the plot well developed,. I personally identified a lot with Hope, the MC and found myself loving the sweet moments displayed throughout the book.
I wish there was more development of Hope and Brent's relationship as I liked their pairing and wanted more! Also I felt that the ending was rushed and more could have been done here as it was the big climax of the story.
On the whole, a great read.

The Duplicate Bride by Ginny Baird is a fun, sweet and lovely tale of mistaken identity. It reminded me a lot of While You Were Sleeping, especially with the larger extended family and the way they welcomed Jackie/Hope into their lives. I really loved this family, their personalities and the way their stories played out. And Brent was a sweet character although lacking a bit in character development and a more robust look into his backstory and ending.
It was a fun and quick read and I did enjoy it.

I hate to leave bad reviews, but this just wasn't something I could get behind. I knew going in that it was going to be a twin swap story, what I didn't realize was it was going to be not funny, but a whole lot of cringe inducing. Hope trades places with her self absorbed sister who doesn't have time to do the "family stuff" leading up to her wedding. I thought okay, this will last for a day, 2 tops, then all will be revealed and it won't be so bad. Nope, not even close! It's bad enough that this goes on all the way THROUGH THE WEDDING and wedding night, but it only stops when Jackie is getting ready to go on her honeymoon! I can't root for a couple like this. Brent has no idea that he's developing feelings for his future sister-in-law, but Hope KNOWS it's her sister's fiancé, and falls head over heels anyway. Although I wasn't a fan of this story, I would be willing to read this author again.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

I thought that The Duplicate Bride was a fun/slightly unrealistic story that played heavy on the sibling switching places idea. Hope swaps places with her busy sister Jackie in the lead up to Jackie's big day - however, things go awry when there seems no end in sight and Hope is starting to feel something more than sisterly love for Jackie's fiancee. While I enjoyed the familial bonds and characters within the story. It just fell into an okay read for me. There was nothing to complain about for this hallmark type story but equally so I didn't fall head over heel in love with it either. I think if you are looking for a fun, quick romantic read that will give you a cheesy/romcom movie vibes then I think you would adore this book. Overall, it was a fun read but slightly un-memorable.

My copy was provided in advance from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Fun Twins Switching Places Rom-Com 4.5 Stars

Hope is a small-town math teacher, always coming to her sister’s rescue and cleaning up her messes. She is a likeable character and pretty much loved by everyone who knows her. Jackie, her career-driven twin, asks Hope to stand in for her for just a couple of days until she can wrap up her work and join her.

Hope refuses at first, but Grandmother Margaret gives her the stink eye attacking “Jackie” about her priorities, and since everyone assumed it was her, including Brent, she goes along with it. Her mom Ava and sister’s friend Meredith are the only ones in on the deception and do their best to assist her.

Brent is marrying to get ahead in the family business. He’s so surprised to find “Jackie” so much more attractive than he remembered, as well as more relaxed and easy-going. Hope and Jackie are different in every way, but as he gets to know Hope, he begins to fall in love with his “fiancé”. By this time, Hope has gotten to know Brent far better than her sister ever did and has completely fallen for him.

This is a fun read with lots going on and enough pairings of secondary characters to warrant a next-in-the-series novel. Tropes include:
•	Twins switching places
•	Misunderstandings
•	Crazy families
•	Marriage of convenience

This was a really cute book. It’s not super realistic but it’s still enjoyable. The pace isn’t fast, but it’s a good read. It would be the perfect hallmark movie! It is a clean and closed door romance. It’s a really cute book and I wools recommend it!

Wasn’t a huge fan of this book. The characters were hard to like and I just couldn’t stay involved with the story enough to want to read this from start to finish.

The trope is twins swap but in this case, the exchange is very dangerous. Jackie Webb is a wedding planner and at the moment is involved in the wedding from hell. To such an extent that she can’t get away to attend the week-long activities of her own wedding! So she convinces her identical twin sister to swap places with her in the events leading to her wedding.

Poor Hope tries to get out of her sister’s scheme but fails. Then she gets to the groom’s family summer estate in Blue Hill, Maine. There Hope is brought into the family and falls in love with all of them. Coming from an unstable childhood, she enjoys the warmth of a big family, she’s enchanted with Brett’s family and eventually, she’s enchanted with the groom himself.

As things get complicated and Jackie keeps postponing her arrival, everything gets more and more complicated because her feelings start to get involved, with Brett and his family, and the deceit starts to weigh heavily on her.

Likewise, Brent is initially confused by this “new version” of Jackie. This fiancée loves carbs, hates mornings, is warm and laid back. The Jackie he knew was driven, a morning person, athletic and had a no carbs diet. Even so, he enjoyed and kept getting increasingly attached to this version of Jackie.

Initially, the book was a little humorous as Hope kept getting into scrapes, trying to fit in as Jackie. Then we get into angsty space as Hope gets more conflicted and Brent tries to get “cozy” with his fiancée.

The book was entertaining and the characters charming. I kept cringing every time Jackie called and postponed her arrival and eventually I started being irritated by her. I found Jackie selfish and uncaring about her twin’s ordeal; Hope is soft and kind, unable to say no to her sister. Jackie and Brent were planning a convenience marriage but Hope didn’t know and was blindsided with the information. I saw Jackie as a social climber and using her twin sister without compunction.

Their mother is a little zany and best friend Meredith colorful enough to be interesting. Brent’s family is just lovely, all that a loving family should be. I loved the family times and poor Hope’s turmoil. In spite of all the angst, it was a lovely romantic book, even though I had problems with how fast the deception was fixed and everyone was so lovey-lovey again, especially Jackie and Hope.

Have I ever..I'm not sure if I have, read a book about twins pulling the switch on someone. I really liked The Duplicate Bride. I thought it was a lot of fun. I preferred Hope over Jackie. She is a romance reading, carb eating teacher and Jackie is very much a morning person who eats healthy and loves working out..but she was just not the easiest character to enjoy.

I thought the book was a fun story about waiting for the right person. I didn't mind the closed door aspect to the book. I thought it was cute, and will definitely be looking for more from this author!

Hallmark movie lovers rejoice and grab this one.

I was stressed so often when reading this one because I am not a fan of deception in general. I had to keep going though because I had to know how these twins pulled off the wedding.

The pace wasnt fast, but enjoyable. The writing was done well. The language and sexual content was very clean and closed door. This would be perfect for readers who enjoy clean content.

It is so hard to find a good clean romance any more, especially one that is not cheesy but with a great storyline. The Duplicate Bride did not disappoint! It was a little predictable but then not. It was a cute romance with everything you’d want from one!

A sweet and sassy contemporary romance that cannot fail to enchant, readers everywhere are sure to fall in love with Ginny Baird’s latest novel, The Duplicate Bride.

Hope and Jackie Webb might be twins, but they couldn’t be more different. While they are identical in looks, their outlooks are poles apart. Jackie has always been an ambitious go-getter while schoolteacher Hope is perfectly content living in a small town and escaping into the pages of her favorite books. Despite their differences, the girls are absolutely devoted to one another and would do absolutely anything for each other – but when Jackie phones Hope and asks her for a massive favor, Hope thinks that her sister has gone too far this time! Impersonating each other might have been fun when they were kids, but now that they are grown women masquerading as her twin is just not on – especially when Jackie is meant to be meeting her fiancé’s glamorous family! However, when saying no to her sister proves easier said than done, Hope finds herself packing her suitcase and heading off to meet her sister’s new in laws and her soon to be groom who might turn to be absolutely perfect – for her!

Hotel magnate Brent Albright cannot put his finger on it, but something seems off about his fiancée. Sure, theirs is no love match, however, the woman standing before him is not the driven career-obsessed fiancée who cared only about status and prestige, but a warm-hearted, funny and sweet woman who charms his family – and him! Yet his fiancée seems desperate to avoid him and is doing her utmost to ensure that she is not in the same room as him – which only serves to increase Brent’s attraction towards her. This woman standing before him could very well end up being the woman he had long given up hope of ever finding, but is she all that she seems? Or are Brent’s suspicions right and the woman standing before him is keeping something from him?

Hope never expected to end up falling head over heels with her sister’s soon to be bridegroom. But as her feelings for Brent intensify with each passing day, what is she going to do? Will she protect her sister and risk losing the love of a lifetime? Or will she tell the truth about who she really is?

Ginny Baird’s The Duplicate Bride is a wonderful contemporary romance full of charm, humor and warmth that I fell in love with from the very first page. A feel-good read that touches the heart and makes readers laugh out loud on plenty of occasions, The Duplicate Bride sparkles with an intoxicating blend of delicious wit, sweet romance and captivating emotion.

Hope and Brent are two wonderful characters readers cannot help but fall for. Hope is a lovely and loyal heroine whereas Brent is sexy, charismatic and absolutely gorgeous!

A stellar romantic read that is simply irresistible, The Duplicate Bride is a must-read for contemporary fans everywhere!

I really enjoyed this story. I think it was a little hard to believe that twins could fool someone so much. However the love story was sweet and it has my HEA. Enjoyed and will recommend!

You don’t have to agree with the storyline in a real life scenario to love this book! A great story, and a real page turner. Would definitely recommend!

I loved the set up, the idea was really fun to me. But sadly, the product was a bit lackluster. I get it was a clean romance and all, but even then you can have some more tension, this was a calm lake with a little pebble thrown in now and then to crease the surface, but no river snaking through rapids making me NEED to read more.

A lot of it needs suspension of disbelief, from two twins being so similar despite entirely different diets and workout regiments, that no one would tell them apart. And a fiance, sure sure, of convenience, but still, not being suspicious when she can't recall anything they have ever talked about. And why anyone would want to help Jackie at all, when she comes across as nothing but arrogant, I don't know.

The more I read, the more I second guessed everything, and in the end, it was just lackluster.
