My 1st Tiffany Reisz. I've seen her books and name around, but never picked one up until I saw this available on NetGalley. I went into this without any expectations. Didn't expect it to be so spicy. Didn't expect it to be art-- both filled and crafted. Didn't expect paranormal. There was a lot going on, making this a more complicated and deeper book than I expected. Pleasantly surprised and much appreciated.

I was delighted at the art references and education. Familiar with some of the work already in this collection -- Judith & Holofernes -- but where she went with it by placing our heroine into the story was very creative.

Willing to read more from this author.

I was an avid reader of the Nora/Soren series of books and enjoyed them. Wasn't too keen on the paranormal aspect to this book but it was an easy read.

The Pearl is the third book in The Godwicks' Series, but no worries, you can read this one as a standalone. However, you will be missing out on a very sexy series, and I recommend the other books in the series.
Tiffany Reisz can write erotica; we all know that. I love that she combines a twist of mystery and a paranormal element to her writing. And in this book adds a bit of art.

You will like this book if you enjoy a storyline with a dominant older woman and a younger man. But not to worry, only about nine years are separating them. Lord Arthur Godwick may only be 21, but he is mature, a bit of an old soul with a side of brat. Arthur is nothing like the previous Godwicks we have met. He is kindhearted, patient, and you feel that he genuinely loves his family. Arthur is summoned to The Pearl Hotel by the new owner Lady Reagan Ferry. Arthur's younger irresponsible brother, Charlie, has run up quite a tab at the hotel. Charlie has not only run up a bill but to make matters worse, he has given Lady Ferry the painting of Lord Malcolm Godwick, which is cherished by their parents. Arthur believes Lady Ferry has summoned him there to pay his brother's tab. Lady Ferry does want payment but not in cash.

"' There is something quite poetic about this, isn't there? The great-grandson of The Pearl's most infamous customer becoming a whore for the great-granddaughter of one of the Pearl's best whores?'" (Reagan)

The book takes off from there. Reagan and Arthur sizzle on the page; they develop from two damaged people into a strong, funny, sensual couple that will wiggle their way into your heart. It was beautiful to watch Arthur, with his immeasurable tenderness and willingness to love, melt Reagan's heart. Reagan goes from a timid young woman who lived under her ancient controlling husband's thumb to a beautiful, successful, confident woman. And then there is Arthur, sweet, loving, and the ultimate dutiful son. It is lovely to watch Reagan bring out his submissive but very sexy side. Let's just say he knows his way around a string of pearls.

Another thing that I found unique about this book was the way Ms. Reisz used famous artwork to enrich the plot. She cleverly wove the paintings into every aspect of the story. The Pearl was an emotionally provocative love story with some interesting plot twists. Ms. Reisz not only writes an erotic tale but also writes her characters beautifully, giving them a depth that will endear you to them.

This book surprised me in a good way. I usually don´t read books in this genre, because when I think of ´steamy' books the Harlequin ones comes to mind, which you can buy for dirt cheap in the supermarket and are not exactly known for their literary quality and depth. To each his own. It's not what I'm looking for.
So when The Pearl popped up you´d say I would click it away in an instant. However, I was in a different mood that day. Sometimes you just need a break from the usual fare and have a relaxing distraction from a stressed mind or whatever is going on. I googled the author, Tiffany Reisz, and got the impression that she really stands out from the crowd in erotica. So I took the plunge.

The book has a bit of an awkward and forced start, but after a few pages I was hooked and didn´t want to stop reading. It has romance, it has mystery and, very interestingly, a whole lot of art! The steamy scenes are very well done and they are the strong parts of this book. It is clear that writing erotic scenes is where the author excels in.
The characters did not really convince me for the most part: the 30 year old Regan came off as a rude, immature and overly dramatic girl with daddy issues, and the 21 year old Arthur seemed unbelievably dull and mature for his age.
There is a lot of art and talking about art in this book and I loved that. It has introduced me to art work from female painters and now I want to know more about them, especially the oil on canvas pieces by Evelyn de Morgan. They are amazing! Can't stop looking at them online.

Needless to say, I enjoyed this book and it was a very pleasant surprise. I might purchase the other 2 books in this series and I'm looking forward to a sequel.

I received this book as an ARC from Netgalley and the publisher.

The Pearl is a romantic novel which takes you to a whole different lifestyle. It's narrative can be quite inviting and I would even go so far as to say it brings the Netflix series ' Bridgerton' to mind. I was quite at ease with the contents. If you are into the era of fair maidens, lords, countess's etc This may very well be your go to Novel.
I quite liked it and have no complaints.

I absolutely loved The Pearl. The relationship between Arthur and Regan was so well-crafted and sincere, and I loved how unique Arthur was as a character. The plot was engaging and fast-paced, and seeing old characters return is always a treat.

I wanted to love this one so much but I felt like it was a bit disappointing.
If you just read this book, it is not a bad book but if you've read the first 2 in this series, than this may leave you wanting.
I enjoyed both of the characters a lot and found their dynamic to be quite unique.
Unfortunately, the sex scenes were a bit tame compared to the first 2 in this series. I fell in love with this series because of the outlandish nature of the premise and the sex scenes. This book was a lot of grounded in reality.
Th writing was good, it just wasn't what I was expecting from this series.

I have enjoyed the other books in this series and as always with this author, she blends well written eroticisim with and artistry and originality that I find fascinating.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first book by Tiffany Reisz but by no means last. First thing I’m going to do is read about the other Godwicks.

I’ve gone through a lot of bad erotica lately, weak plots, rambling inner monologues, sketchy sex scenes that felt forced and meh- but this, this was gold. It was romantic, sexy, tastefully written, the scenes were sensual without being uncomfortable. I’m not a fan of the submissive aspect, especially in the man, but Tiffany Reisz wove in Arthur’s scene without him appearing weak, humiliated or forced. He is 21 and 9 years younger than Regan, however there is a strength and maturity about him that made me forget the age gap or that this is supposed to be a young man just starting his life so could or should be inexperienced and undeveloped (emotionally).

Regan’s controlling ex husband died about 6-7 months ago and while she claims to be finally throwing the shackles that he had bound her with, she’s still too caught up in her past griefs, a hopeless short lonely future and resentment towards the infamous Godwick’s to attain any kind of happiness or satisfaction.

Arthur is the eldest son of that notorious aristocratic rich family (got to get those first two books!), but unlike the rest is mature, responsible and a do-gooder. He loves his family and will do anything for them. When his younger brother lands in trouble he doesn’t hesitate to bail him out in any way possible- as long as the painting of his great great grandfather Lord Malcolm that Regan initially demanded is not part of the deal. That too is because the painting means everything to his parents.

So that is how Arthur finds himself as Regan’s call boy for ten days. She will set the day and time; he will come and do anything she asks and leave when she demands. Just want to point out that their love scenes are only between the two, not heavy on the bdsm theme and sound from other reviews, tamer than the first two books.
The book is in three parts. The first from Arthur’s point of view, the second is briefly through Regan’s, and the last is from both of theirs when they accept that they have a relationship and connection. Regan wanted to maintain a cold attitude towards Arthur, and we believe that in the first part. Its from the second that we realise that she like the reader is slowly melting under Arthur’s charm and loving.

Also- this book is partly paranormal. It involves a meddling ghost and while he doesn’t reveal himself (until the epilogue) or speak to the characters directly, he does make things fall or show up in dreams. The supernatural part didn’t make up the story, but it did carry it forward and we learn the reason why the two people meet in the first place.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and it seems like a great ending to the series.

Tiffany Reisz can always be counted on for smart, edgy, innovative erotic romance. This was a fast-paced, compelling story with twists I never saw coming. Brava!

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review. All opinions are my own.

Tiffany's The Pearl is a pure masterpiece. The characters are captivating, plot enthralling, and prose exquisite. Very few authors can pull me into a story so far that I'll read over half the book in one sitting, Tiffany Reisz can do that to me every single time.

I love Tiffany Reisz books and this was no exception! You couldn’t help loving these characters by the end, though they did try to dissuade you. The unique storyline had me turning pages until the way past my bedtime!!

This was a pleasantly riveting book, despite the ghostly theme. After an initially steady start, the story really picked up the pace and before I knew it, I was hooked.

This was an odd one. I loved the characters from the start and was instantly on board for the dynamic. While I was obsessed with the beginning, my enjoyment of the book slowly petered out over the course of the story. By the 50% mark, I was having to push my way through the book. The Pearl combines erotica, paranormal, and mystery in a unique way, and I would recommend it for those who are equally interested in those three genres.

Not nearly as interesting or engaging as previous books. :( This will likely be the last Reisz book for a while for this reader.

This was an enjoyable read. A first in the erotic genre for me, but was pleasantly surprised that there was a story alongside the erotic theme. The two main characters were well written and worked well. The female lead has more to her than just an object which was also a plus.

This book was difficult for me to get through. I'm not sure what the issue was as I liked the premise of the story. I continued on and it picked up once I got about halfway through.

This book works as a standalone story, but I don't know if I would recommend it as a first Tiffany Reisz read. It took me a while to sink into it, and I think having read her other books helped me keep going. Once I was deep into it, though, it was delicious and powerful as always.

I've loved every one of the Godwicks books and The Pearl was no exception. I never know where Tiffany is going to take me with these books but I absolutely love every minute of the journey. Arthur and Regan's story is a great addition to the series!

The Pearl is Tiffany Reisz' third installment in The Godwicks series. It centers around Lord Arthur Godwick, who barters himself to hotel owner Regan Ferry in exchange for the family painting that his brother gave to her. Arthur starts to put together details about Regan over their ten nights together, realizing that her game of revenge is so much bigger than him.

I enjoyed the premise of this book - thinking that a powerful woman claiming what she wants from a man would be an engaging read. It certainly was! I did find, however, that the empowerment that could have been achieved was partially marred by Arthur (the narrator) trying to figure out Regan's person. Moreover, I think this was a good length for the book - a quick Saturday read, for sure!
