Fans of The Holiday will adore this book! Evie Starling wants an escape after another failed attempt at dating makes her re-evaluate where she's at with her life plans. She offers to take over an english bookstore for a month, not knowing how it will change not only her life, but many others.

I was sold on this book the second she risked her life for an animal, but add in a delightfully charming farmer and I'm a goner. This story was like going on a vacation with your best friends, just wanting them all to find happiness and learning how to follow your own dreams as well. A feel-good romcom that will leave you with a smile for days!

Much Ado About You was pretty cute. I loved Evie and her determination to really find herself. Honestly, my favorite part of the book was her opening about her reasons for going to England. Was she actually lonely, or was she lonely because society told her that at her age she should settle down? I loved that so much because I feel that way now at 28. Honestly, it was so meaningful to see her desire to find her own happiness even if that meant not being in a relationship. I did like Roane too, just I'm not really a fan of the new lying by omission cliche that is popping up in some Romance novels. But I still thought he was a solid character.

All the secondary characters were wonderful and really added to the story. For me this is a 3.5 star rating book. Fun, and easy to read I'm just really not a fan of the cliche happening now in books.

I absolutely adored this book. I also have never felt so connected with a character before as I have with Evie. This was just what I needed when I received this arc. A wonderful escape. This, ironically is what Evie does when she hits her breaking point in her life with work and (lack of) love. She decides to just up and go to England and work at a book store and NOT fall for the handsome farmer that everyone in the town loves. What could possibly go wrong?
This book was truly entertaining and fun. This is what I look for in books by Samantha Young. She delivers yet again!

I really hate when I can’t finish books (I stopped at 17%), especially when it’s so I can write a review. But I tried—I even borrowed the audiobook (which finally came out after I was already late with this review), and the narrator talked slow enough I had to change the Libby app speed to 1.25x. Now, I felt to the core Evie’s being jerked around by a potential boyfriend she met through a dating app (been there many a moon ago, ugh), then getting passed over a promotion for the third or fourth time (oh, to have the satisfaction of quitting on the spot, with funds in the bank), but it wasn’t enough. I need to learn instalove isn’t my thing (on Roane’s part, not Evie’s). I always bristle at telling, not showing (I’m always trying to figure out the sweet spot in my own writing). I felt the readers weren’t given enough credit to figure out some of the details of English countryside life, but maybe that’s my (granted, still limited) experience showing. I don’t know how anyone would let a stranger run their bookshop for a month (I know, there’s probably supervision, but I think we’ve seen too many chaos agents who would hand out the entire store to tourists in 24-48 hours, bankrupting the place). And one of my grown children’s experience of trying to figure out how to live and become a citizen of the U.K. showed how it’s set up to be impossible, so I shook my head at Evie’s musings at the start of the book of just packing up and living there. I suppose there’s not much more I can say over my very limited reading of the book, so I’ll let others who finished have the greater say.

Evie Starling is 33, and stuck. After getting passed over for a promotion at work, Evie decides to take a vacation - overseas, in a sweet little English village. The vacation package is my personal dream - a vacation *and* a temporary position at the bookstore underneath the apartment? Whew. Evie, like me, is a life long bibliophile, so she settles in almost immediately to the charming village and all its constituents. And naturally, with her presence in the bookstore, she gets thrown into the mix - particularly the mix of one hella handsome farmer - who Evie's trying to stay away from, because a vacation fling? Can only end in heartbreak. But she can only resist for so long... and then what? What happens next? Snag a copy to find out!

Fun, easy, fast-paced.

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for advance access to this title!

Much Ado About You is a sweet love story set in a cute little English town in a cute little English bookstore. It's exactly any readers dream to shake up your life - who wouldn't want to live that life?? I think this book is a great quick read for fans of rom-coms, it fell a little short for me the characters might resonate more with someone in their early twenties. But I would absolutely recommend this to avid rom-com fans!

I loved this book, it gave me a sense of warmth and comfort in these horrible Covid times.
I loved the setting that this book was set in.All the different characters had interesting side story’s. I was desperate to read more to find out what was gonna happen with each characters story. Evie and Roane’s story has lots of turns and twists, it was loving, heart felt and kept me captivated to the very last page.
It was a feel good, warm your heart with a cuppa, blanket and an open fire type of book. I just loved it. Just what I needed. Thank you highly recommended

Books and romance, what's not to like. This was a super charming story that I truly enjoyed reading. Interesting characters and the story moved along at a nice pace. Great read.

“I knew Roane. I knew that it would never just be sex for him. He wasn’t that guy. And he didn’t look at me like a guy who just wanted one thing.”

Much Ado About You is a heart-warming stand-alone romance novel by Samantha Young.

When thirty-three-years old Evangeline Starling's is passed over for promotion at work, she realises she needs to make a change. In a burst of impulsivity, she plans a holiday in a quaint English village. The holiday package comes with a temporary position at Much Ado About Books, the bookstore located beneath her rental apartment.

Not only is Evie swept up in running the store as soon as she arrives, she's drawn into the lives, loves and drama of the friendly villagers. Including Roane Robson, the charismatic and sexy farmer who tempts Evie every day with his friendly flirtations. Evie is determined to keep him at bay because a holiday romance can only end in heartbreak, right?

But Evie can't deny their connection and longs to trust in her handsome farmer that their whirlwind romance could turn in to the forever kind of love.

“I don’t want you, or anyone, to wake up in ten, twenty years’ time, and wonder what could have been. Such benign little words – ‘what if’. But at some point in life, those two words become the scariest two words in the English language.”

I am a massive fan of Samantha Young’s work and I really enjoyed Much Ado About You.

I loved the premise, and honestly wish I could go on holiday to England and run a small-town bookshop.

I liked the chemistry between Roane and Evie and getting to see how their relationship progressed

“I’d never actually believed I’d meet the love of my life. Deep down, I thought it was a fairy tale that other people got to live.
It made me breathless to realize I’d been wrong.
I found him.
I found my one.”

I did find the book lacked the usual essence I have come to expect from Samantha Young’s books. I couldn’t quite put my finger on just what it was, although I sometimes thought the characters seemed a bit underdeveloped, but I unfortunately did not love Much Ado About You nearly as much as I have enjoyed most of her books in the past.

In saying that, I do think Much Ado About You is an enjoyable, light hearted book that I would still recommend.

I did enjoy the way Samantha Young described the village and was able to make it come to life in my mind as I read.

“I am yours until I'm nothing but dust in the wind. Maybe even then.”

Much Ado About You is due to release on February 2nd 2021.

I absolutely loved this book and these characters! This was a charming romantic comedy and a much needed light hearted read. A perfect English village, lots book references, a spunky lovable heroine, and a charming prince charming.... what else do you need in a story. I loved Evie and her journey (one that I think we have all been on.... wanting a change and finding yourself). I can see myself re-reading this and recommending it for a great easy romance.

2.5 Stars

I wanted to love this one, I really did.

I really liked Evie and Roane, and I thought their relationship had a lot of potential, including great chemistry. I also liked the premise, the town, and the way most of the story unfolded.

My issue? The "thing" that was going to cause them issue felt contrived and I didn't actually believe that someone would take a relationship as far as they did without knowing basic things like ages, families, and what they each did for a living.

And, that was my issue. Dating someone and not knowing? Sure. Engaged and not knowing? Contrived plot.

I wish I could say that I loved this, and I want to be able to as I liked so much else about this...but I just can't get past that or bring myself to recommend this title.

This book was so cute and cozy and everything wonderful about a small town romance. I loved the English setting it was so quaint and sweet. Surprisingly I did not see the little twist coming and I really enjoyed it and loved how things wrapped up. I really hope we get a couple more books out of this small town north England

I never miss an opportunity to read a Samantha Young novel, she’s long had me addicted since I had the good fortune of discovering her books. I adore her style of writing, her characters and her easy ability to get me to fall in love with both.

In theory Much Ado about You should have been an undoubted shoe in with me. Set in a quintessential English village, Evangeline, our heroine flees America to lick her wounds after being down on her luck in her professional and social life. She spends her time running a local bookshop, falling in love with her surroundings, the locals, and one local in particular.

It pains me to say that I was not wooed with the same charm i’m accustom to with Ms Young, and as a result not enamoured with either protagonists nor story.

Much Ado about You is far from a bad read, but after much thought I’ve come to realise its only crime was its failure to excite.

For me, when I get a new Samantha Young book to read, it's like Christmas morning. I loved Evie and all the townsfolk. Roan was how do I put it in words... swoony. I knew, like on all great books there was going to be a catch, but I loved him and him and Evie as a couple so much. I love the idea of renting a book store too. Sigh. Dreams. I read an advanced review copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I’m already a fan of Samantha Young’s and this one did not disappoint. She gets just the right mixture of romance, sex and angst that make a good Romance novel. Can’t wait to see what else she writes in the future.

This fun, easy going rom-com is the perfect book to get you out of a reading rut or read while relaxing on the beach. Evie is on her early thirties, is over the whole dating scene, and has just been denied the promotion she’s been expecting at work. So of course she decides to pick up and move to England for a month to run a little book shop in a small English village. Evie escapes to find herself and ends up finding that and much more. For fans of The Bookish Life of Nina Hill.

Such a cute and fun read! I felt like I tore through it and could have kept going. The characters were both down to earth and big enough personalities to hold up a solid romcom plot. Romance isn't usually my main genre but I am a sucker for an English setting and Shakespeare references.

3.5 stars!

Overall this was a cute story of Evie and Roane who meet in Northumberland. I love books that feature anything to do with a bookstore or books as a theme and that was one of my favorite parts of the story.

Definitely the feel-good kind of book that I needed, and it was more than just romance but it was also a book about self-discovery too.

*many thanks to Berkley and Netgalley for the gifted copy
