Oh my gah! This book was a terrific thriller! I loved Tarryn Fisher's previous book, The Wives so I went into this one excited. It begins with Juno, who we discover is living with married couple Winnie and Nigel and their tween son in a large home. The book is written flipping between Juno and Winnie's POV's and everyone has secrets! The ending was excellent and will leave the reader breathless.

This was my first book by Tarryn and though it took me awhile to get into the book it was still very twisted and had you scratching your head asking did you just read that?

Juno and Nigel are the picture perfect family with the picture perfect house. But what no body knows is a very dark and twisted secret that has been kept secret for so long! But what will happen when Juno the lady that is livng with them overhears that secret? Even Juno has a secret of her own that she'd do anything to keep from coming out!

Find out what these secrets are in this twisted psychological book

I enjoyed this new story from Tarryn Fisher! The suspense quickly drew me in, and the last 30% really was fantastic, but the epilogue owned this book! Wholy moly! This is my third novel from Tarryn and I can’t wait for more.

This book drew me in and never stopped. I found every character engaging and fascinating. Tarryn Fisher is the author of thrillers that also deal with real modern issues. I know this novel will be on many bestseller lists. It is definitely one our book group will welcome.

Whoa. This book is my literal worst nightmare! It started out slow, and I thought I had guessed the twist but I was off. So many things I didn’t see coming.

Tarryn Fisher's book, The Wives, was my very last read of 2019, and the first one that I have read by her. When I saw that she had a novel coming out this year, I was extremely excited. Once again, Tarryn Fisher did not disappoint. I am realizing that I can count on her for a totally crazy, bingeworthy book that I won't be able to put down once I start reading. There were so many layers to The Wrong Family. The story is told from the perspective of two women: Winnie and Juno. Winnie is married with a son, and Juno is a former therapist who is currently homeless. One day, Juno takes up residence in Winnie's crawl space, without Winnie's knowledge. Okay, can you imagine someone LIVING in your house and you don't even know it? Things only get crazier from there. There are cracks in Winnie's marriage, and she is hiding a secret. Juno observes the family from the crawl space, and eventually, it is she who is the catalyst for those cracks and secrets to be revealed. I don't want to give too much away, but I will say that this book was crazy from start to finish, and it only got crazier with each page that I read. I wanted to keep reading because I had to know what happened, and this was one of those reads where I was racing through the pages to find out what was going to happen next. Juno sets into motion the unraveling of Winnie's family. I think this was completely immersive. I find Tarryn's writing to be refreshing, especially when it comes to the genre of domestic thrillers. As soon as I downloaded this book on my Kindle, and I more or less read it in one sitting. I will definitely encourage others to read this one. Thank you to the publisher for granting me a copy of this book. I will be on tour for this book closer to its pub date. I will post my review on my bookstagram page IG @readingmama_reviews once I get tour details from the publicist.

Before I give this review I would like to say I love Tarryn Fisher. Definitely one of my all time favorite authors. I will always request, read, and review a Tarryn Fisher book. With that said, this was my least favorite of her books and I've read them all. It just didn't have that Tarryn passion I love so much. I felt like anyone could have written this book.. What I mean by that is when I read a Tarryn Fisher book, I am shocked at the end. I am rocked. I am moved. I ponder it for days. I tell anyone who will listen. I didn't get any of that from The Wrong Family. It was predictable, and quit honestly I didn't like any of the characters. Tarryn's writing is always good, it's not that, it's the storyline. It just wasn't Tarryn edgy. But I still love her and can't wait for her next ;book.

The Wrong Family by Tarryn Fisher, published by Graydon House / Harlequin is another masterpiece by this author. A psychological thriller that turned me upside down.
The Wrong Family is a slow burn, a slow paced drama that keft me speech-and breathless and with a major bookhangie. The plot twist had me guessing til the end.
Juno is a 67 year old former therapist who moved in with the Crouch family. At the first look, everything seems peachy, but taking a closer look, Winnie and Nigel have some issues. Juno wants to help them, but she has her own agenda, just like every player in this game. A twisted, dark read, TF at her finest, a gem of a read.
I recommend this book, 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this novel, it was twisted in all the right ways. The author did a great job of keeping you guessing. Use caution, it might just keep you up at night!

Let me start by saying that I have read all of Tarryn Fisher’s books. I am not a fan of her romance stories, but I enjoyed Mud Vein and Marrow. Lately, I had sort of stopped following the author because I had been less impressed with the titles F*ck Love and truly despised The Wives. I had high hopes that the author, transitioning from an indie author to a more mainstream publisher would have a better editor by the time The Wives came out, but I was unfortunately, disappointed and thought the story was a bit of a mess.
But, in saying all of that, this review should stand alone from those other works. The reason that I say this is because the author has finally grown as a writer when it comes to The Wrong Family. While the reader can still find bits of Tarryn’s writing in the story, I was, for the first time, impressed by the author. Fisher has made extreme progress in her writing ability and the story kept me engaged until the end. There weren’t the usual plot holes found or rambling about topics that don’t seem to add to the story.
In fact, if you did not like The Wives, that should not stop you from reading this book. It is almost hard to believe the stories were from the same author. This story was dark, like the Tarryn stories that I prefer, and it was genuinely interesting. I wondered how it would all play out in the end. I enjoyed the elements within the characters and how they handled mental illness and homelessness. It feels like Tarryn has grown up a bit with this story and I hope to see more like it.
There are some minor cosmetic errors among them the formatting on kindle often being a problem, but I still enjoyed the story. One issue that bothered me was that I felt like the main character Winnie had talked about her breasts several times, once being in a moment of crisis that left me thinking, why would she be thinking about her boobs? This reminded me a bit of the old Tarryn books; a female character obsessed with her image above all. But overall, I gave this 4 stars because the awesome level of creep in this story, and because I’m happy to see Fisher grow in leaps and bounds from her old writing. Minus one star for a few troublesome areas, grammar, and cheesy lines here and there.
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have to admit I almost didn't finish reading this one. It was slow to start and I was confused about how the woman narrating it fit into the story. I hung in there and I am glad I did. Oh, the surprising twist and turns! I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good thriller. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

At first, this book was kind of hard to get into, but I always wanted to know what was going on. I was wondering how did this family not know this lady was living in their house. There seemed to be so many secrets going on, lots of family issues, and mystery to what was coming. The end was so unpredictable, it caught me by surprise. I couldn't believe what happened. I enjoyed this book more than The Wives. This book was a good one!

Lots of unexpected twists and turns. Definitely some surprises. Could have used more dialogue. Most of the story is told through Winnie and Juno's mental stream of consciousness.

An amazing, twisted psychological thriller that I devoured in two nights (sorry, family)! I could not put this down because of author Tarryn Fisher's ability to show the reader exactly what the two main characters were thinking and feeling--so many wry observations about damaged people, and I couldn't look away.

The book alternates between Juno and Winnie's perspectives. Juno is living with Winnie's "perfect" family, and she overhears some troubling things while staying there. Juno also has plenty of secrets of her own, and both womens' backstories are slowly revealed. Juno, seeking atonement for past sins, sets a series of events into motion that will prove to be disastrous. Read this one to find out what happens!

Highly recommended if you enjoy unique, slow-burn thrillers that delve deep into the minds of flawed characters. Thanks to Netgalley and Graydon House for the librarian preview!

I am a sucker for good psychological thrillers. I read The Wives by this author and loved it. Unfortunately, this one did not measure up as well. I felt it was slow going and I was not as interested in this one.

Tarryn Fisher has a wonderful way of telling stories of people you don’t want to have a HEA. The Wrong Family is another prime example. Juno moves in with the Crouch family but soon learns that everything isn’t as perfect as she originally thought. Juno begins to dive into the lives of the Crouch family. Everything turns out to be more complex than Juno ever imagined.

I liked this story better than her previous book, The Wives. This one is written more straightforward. Now, that doesn’t mean that this is one lays out the whole story all at once. Fisher has a gift of telling the reader information as the story goes on without it being a big info dump. It is very carefully crafted to answer your questions as you go along.

I loved this psychological thriller, The Wrong Family by Tarryn Fisher. Although I did not read her first book, The Wives, I was drawn to this one by the plot and the many positive reviews. I am a sucker for a twisty thriller, and this one did not disappoint.

The Wrong Family refers to the Crouches: Winnie, Nigel and their teenage son Samuel. They appear perfect to outsiders but they are actually pretty unhappy with their seemingly perfect life. Winnie is overly controlling, Nigel is tuned out of their marriage and resentful for a past act, and Samuel is a confused teen trying to forge his own identity despite his parents' hovering. Juno is a former therapist who has become attracted to the Crouches' shiny veneer. I will not reveal too much about their connection, but suffice it to say you will not probably not guess what that connection is.

I appreciated how the author fed us bits and pieces of background about the characters so that we - or I - was constantly shocked by new revelations. The alternating viewpoints let us into the minds of both Winnie and Juno until their characters were eventually well-developed. The plot moved at a consistent if not speedy pace until the climax, which was fast enough for me. A few plot points were quite unbelievable, but that is par for the course with thrillers, and this one fit together quite nicely for the most part.

I would have liked to see more resolution at the end. I was disappointed that the characters never found out the whole truth about each other. But I must say the final scene is creepy and clever.

Readers who appreciate domestic thrillers will devour this one.

I wanted to read this one because I LOVED The Wives by Tarryn Fisher. While I didn't like this one as well The Wives, it was still an excellent book!
Tarryn Fisher writes an intriguing novel and this one is no exception. Written in alternating narrators, little bits of the whole picture are revealed slowly but surely.
Juno has clearly fallen on hard times. We are given bits and pieces of her story slowly, but surely. A former therapist uprooted from her home in the Southwest, Juno is now living in the PNW.
Winnie just wants the perfect life...with the perfect home and the perfect family. There's clearly a wedge between Winnie and her husband Nigel, but we just aren't sure how big that wedge is. Winnie's son, Sam, is being a typical teenager - isn't he? Sam is questioning who is he and how he fits.
Sprinkle in additional family issues AND something that happened in the past that has altered their course - you have one heck of a complex plot that just keeps thickening.
This is a great read. Not quite the same pace as The Wives, but a great book none-the-less!!

I became a fan of Tarryn Fisher last year, after reading her excellent thriller The Wives. The story focuses on the Crouch family- Winnie, her husband Nigel, and their son Samuel. The three of them live in a beautiful home and seemingly have the picture perfect family that people envy until Juno begins staying with them. Juno realizes that their “perfection” is all fake. So as not to spoil the book, Juno eavesdrops and hears Nigel and Winnie have a huge argument, which spurs her to find out what exactly is happening in the house. The Crouch family has a lot of dark secrets hidden behind their beautiful home's walls.

Tarryn Fisher knows how to pull you into a book. I couldn't put this book down. The Wrong Family is more straightforward than her last book, The Wives, but she does throw a twist or two your way. The last part of the book was crazy! The Wrong Family is a wonderful psychological thriller not to be missed! This will definitely appeal to those who love the domestic drama/suspense genre. This book is going to be a huge hit and I highly recommend it!
