A wife hiding a shocking secret. A husband who wants to leave, but can’t. A son who believes he is a wolf being raised by bears. A homeless woman living, undetected, in The Wrong Family’s house. Can she unmask the family’s mystery?

Yum, I ate up this intriguing domestic suspense tale like pie! The less you know about the plot the better. Just trying to figure out what is going on is a challenge. All throughout, the book has a pulsating feeling of dread. Something bad is going to happen, you just know it. I usually like my thrillers fast-paced. But this one just creeps under your skin propelling you to read it in a single sitting.

I loved this creepy little tale where both good and evil are hidden under completely different personas. I highly recommend The Wrong Family for mystery/thriller readers. 5 stars and a favorite! Just pray that no one is lurking in your closet or under your house...

After reading The Wives, I was very excited for this book and it did not disappoint! The story was thrilling, and there were twists and turns throughout!

4 twisted stars!!

I am a sucker for a good suspense. Especially when you add in some extra twisted shit. This was definitely up my alley.

I have so many emotions about each and every character. Now you know the author is good when you don’t know who you like and who you don’t like. I really enjoyed the background of these stories and the twists that were thrown in throughout. Where it runs away a little bit is to be honest I saw most of it coming sadly. Except the end. That I did not see coming!!

This is a slow burn but with that you get in the minds of multiple characters and you even start believing their rambles. I was super impressed with the authors ability to create such dynamic characters. Especially Juno. Juno rocked my world. She is a book all in herself. I want her whole entire story.

It’s crazy to think I began to believe this as normal. I adored this book and loved the flow and the writing. Her descriptions made me visualize the whole book from beginning to end. At one point I could smell the “mustiness”. Kudos to this author for turning a book which mainly takes place in one area into something so extreme.

Don’t read anything before you start either. I was scrolling Facebook and someone had a status in a group about never looking at a “....” the same way again. It was regarding the character Juno and a certain place (if you have read and want to know msg me I fill tell you). It hurt the story for me because I didn’t know that’s where it was going yet. So don’t read stuff that could have spoilers just jump in, you won’t be disappointed!!!

I loved the plot and the characters had good potential but it never felt fully realized. There was so much dropping the same plot hints that it got tiring after a while and I no longer cared much and just wanted the author to get on with it. The plot twist toward the end was good but not shocking. It is a good study of how we deceive ourselves and can't see what is so clear to others.

Thanks to NetGalley and Harequin Publishing for the ARC to read and review.

Ok... we all know going in when were about to read a Tarryn Fisher novel it's going to be dark, dysfunctionally good, and just bat shit ass crazy.

Wow... The Wrong Family.... damn this was one heck of a ride.

Tarryn delivers a domestic thriller full of twists, turns, and a dysfunctional family at it's finest.

Fisher's writing is addicting, engaging, and her plotting is just simply brilliant. Of course with Fisher's talents she will throw you a massive curveball with those twists.

Let's meet the Crouch family... Winnie, her husband Nigel, and their son Samuel. They live in a stunning home and have what most families would only dream of having. That is until Juno starts staying with the family and the perfect facade this family puts on just comes tumbling down in all it's picture perfect darkness.

I do have to say that ending.... I was a tad bit disappointed in and felt that it was a bit predictable.

Overall, I enjoyed this one and look forward to what Fisher has up her dark and deceitful arm next ;).

4/5 stars!!

3.5 stars, rounded up. I had really high hopes for this one, but ultimately it fell a little flat for me. It may have been domestic suspense burnout and have just been a "me" thing. I felt like there was a lot of build up around Juno's character and then the ultimate reveal of what had happened in her past felt a little muddled and just not quite as "big" as I'd been expecting. The last 1/4 or so of this book honestly made a huge difference and with raised stakes definitely made for a huge change in plot pace.

I have read a few of Tarryn Fisher's books in the past, and was looking forward to reading this one. It was a thriller for someone looking to read something out of their normal comfort zone. It wasn't completely difficult to see where the story was going. I felt like the beginning was a little slow and the ending was kind of rushed. The characters weren't fully developed and what was there was done piece by piece instead of kind of all at once. I find that I am having a hard time wrapping myself around this one fully. She is known for throwing the whole kitchen sink in her books so to speak but this one just didn't seem to land for me, unfortunately. I enjoy the actual writing from Tarryn Fisher so I know I will pick up her next book but maybe I will go into it with maybe just a little bit of lower expectations.

Review copy from Netgalley Thanks to Graydon house and Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

Have you ever held on to a secret so hard that the mere thought of other people finding out about it, made you sick to your stomach? How about a secret so big that it threatened to break apart your family into tiny irreparable pieces?

The Wrong Family by @tarrynfisher is such an emotional thrill ride that left me questioning every single character, and moment up until the very end. I wasn’t always sure what was happening, but like an onion, layer by layer the secrets of this story are told and revealed, threatening to ruin the walls these characters have built up around themselves for protection. A masterpiece of a story, I’m still a pile of goo on the floor trying to piece together the puzzle that is The Wrong Family. A master of her craft, Tarryn once again has left me questioning every single thing, and has me wanting to read this book again immediately!

I really wanted to give this book a try, but I couldn't really get into the story. From the beginning, it was somewhat boring and there were a lot of things that weren't interesting or relevant. I wish I could've enjoyed this book more because I really liked the Never Never series by Tarryn Fisher and Colleen Hoover

This book was by turns intriguing and boring. I wanted to figure out why things were happening, but also found myself disliking most of the characters for various reasons. It took me awhile to get into it because of the strange set up, but I did enjoy the twist when I discovered what was happening in the house. I didn't see the end coming, either, so I give this book 3 stars for those reasons. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an early copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The premise of The Wrong Family seems to be family dynamics, but morphs into much more. Familiar conflict between husband and wife and also parents and child lure the reader into thinking this is a formulaic story, but the twists and turns are definitely surprising and creepy! The ending came out of nowhere and really surprised me.

I have pondered how I want to write this review and decided less is more. Suffice it to say that this story which takes place in a home across the street from Greenlake in Seattle is a thriller unlike any I’ve read and kept me up late two nights reading it. There are a lot of people with BIG problems in this book and Fisher’s introduction to them in the first few chapters establishes that fact, but ow the people are connected is the story. I have a few quibbles, and I’m hoping they appear only in the galley. At one point, a homeless woman goes to King County Library. She lives in Seattle. She would go to the Seattle Public Library. Marymoor Park is also misspelled. Not a big deal, I agree, but if you are a local resident, it is an easily corrected mistake.

Juno is an elderly woman living with the Crouch family. When she first moves in she thinks she's hit the jackpot with this family.  There's Winnie, the wife & mother who has everything.  An adoring husband & loving son. Juno soon finds out that is not the case. She may have bitten off more than she can chew with this family. Never judge a book by its cover. Soon Juno starts finding secrets that this family has covered up and would die to keep from coming out.

WOW this book has it all- glitz, family drama,  & so many twists and turns it just might make your head spin. It is so insanely good that you won't be able to stop until the last page. This has Tarryn Fisher's signature crazy but soooo good spin and I highly recommend this book.

This is a fast-paced and twisty tale told by two women, Winnie and Juno, and I didn't want to put it down. And those family dynamics, though!

Juno is a homeless woman who has been watching the Crouch family in their perfect home overlooking the park for some time. She goes inside the house one day while workmen were finishing up and winds up hiding in a closet when Winnie and Samuel come home. After years on the street, Juno decides that being indoors at the Crouch's house isn't so bad, and people don't really use the closet she's in, and oh, there's a trap door to a crawl space if she ever needs it. How handy.

Winnie is a wife in an unloving marriage, and a mother to a teen-age boy whom she hardly gets two words out of. She has started working again, after leaving her career as a therapist when Sam was born. During one big argument with Nigel, Juno overhears something she can't unhear and it starts her on the path of unearthing a mystery.

I don't want to give anything away, so this is where I'll leave it, but there is a lot in each woman's past that will finally come to light.

My thanks to Graydon House and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

While I loved The Wives by this author and was truly looking forward to this one, it just wasn’t for me. The premise of this story is so fresh and unique. But the execution didn’t grab me. Quite honestly, it just dragged for me. Even with the twists and turns, that at times were surprising! I do feel that fans of this author and/or readers who enjoy this type of Psychological Thriller on a more regular basis will perhaps enjoy this one more than I.

Thank you to Harlequin and NetGalley for the eARC for my honest review. .

Tarryn Fisher has the complex heroine down pat.
This isn't an opinion. It is a fact.
And in this story, we get two of them, Winnie Crouch and Juno.
Both women live in the same home, yet their interactions are not what you'd expect. And the secrets they hide behind the walls of that home could destroy them.

I'll be honest, it took me a while to sort out Juno's place in this home. That appeared to be the author's intent, because it is far from a logical reason. To avoid spoilers, I won't say why she is there, only that I was very sympathetic to her situation (this may be a first, as I generally do not care for the heroines in this author's books, despite loving the stories). Is Juno a noisy body? Absolutely. It is clear she has a history of overstepping her bounds, which has gotten her into trouble before. But I believe she had good intentions when learning of Winnie's secret.

As for Winnie, I didn't find her appealing at all. On top of Juno's POV, which was far from complimentary of her, her inner monologue didn't win me over at all. Just her description of her husband, Nigel, was off putting. Then, when learning her secret, I lost even more respect.

The bulk of this story takes place in this home the women share, as both of their lives begin to unravel for very different reasons. And it is around 75% in that the story really goes sideways. Although I had an inclination that one character in this story was a bad seed, I could never have predicted what transpired. Just tragic.

As you'd expect from this author, and particularly her work in this genre, there is no rainbow at the end of this one. But I think both women came out looking better than they did going in, one actually a bit of a hero, which was a surprise.

If you are a fan of this author or the thriller genre, this is worth checking out.

I would describe The Wrong Family as more of a domestic thriller. Overall it was predictable and there was no twist or shocking ending. It does start out a bit confusing in the beginning but all will be revealed. Who is Juno that mysteriously sneaks into the Crouch family’s house every day while they’re at school and work? Why is the mom Winnie so strict with her son (who is forced to be a vegetarian!)? What horrible crime did Winnie commit years ago that is referenced so many times throughout the book?

After LOVING "The Wives", this was EVERYTHING I was hoping for! Fisher created another totally engrossing novel I made the mistake of starting one night and really had to fight to put down so I could get up the next morning for work!! This is dark, twisted, and something I love to read in the dark.

This book is full of unexpected plot twist that drive the story. From the beginning Juno seems like a nice sweet old woman who is renting a room from a rather ordinary family. However, this family couldn't be farther from ordinary, and Juno is not what she appears to be either.

With masterfully written words, Tarryn Fisher takes you deep into the disturbing minds of these characters. This is not the type of book that will have you falling in love with characters, or hating characters. You will be completely absorbed by the story. It almost makes you feel like this is something that could actually happen in real life.

I love the twisted mind that is Tarryn Fisher. I can not wait to see what she brings us next.

Just keep reading!

The first part is slow and had me thinking this was going to be a DNF but once you hit the second part it all makes sense and starts to get good.

This book is perfect for psychological lovers. Fisher is great at bringing the crazy in all her flawed characters.

These characters have their secrets and once they start to unravel that’s when it all hit the fan and all the twist start to come.

The ending I thought was the best. I may be in the majority of this thinking but it fit the book.
