What I love about Barbour novella collections is the how well they balance well-known names with the opportunity to discover new ones.
I enjoyed all of the novellas in this collection and thought that the overarching theme was sewn up nicely.

I look forward to many more collections featuring spotlights on American history to come.

Overall, these novellas were enjoyable with likable characters and believable plots that didn't feel forced or rushed. I found the characters, especially the brides, all realistic making this read very well understood by the reader.
