I just loved this book. It was so easy to get lost in and I just loved meeting these characters. I look forward to seeing what’s next from this author.

Very interesting storyline and characters loved the fast paced and tense situations and the world building is very captivating and draws you in.
This book is part of a larger 4 book series but can easily be read as a standalone.

I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

Book three of the forgotten brotherhood series was so hard to put down for me. Having read the previous two books Asher was not a new intro to me but no worries if that’s the case for you as each title is a standalone one. Asher is an ancient vampire, whose lay back attitude would fool you into thinking that he’s all fun and games but he’s not. Asher has depths the reader will soon discover in his story. Jo Radcliffe, is a vampire hunter whose entire family was murdered by vampires and her life goal is now to rid the world of them all. With a contract out for Asher comes calling and their attraction is palpable but unlikely not just by nature of their conflicting jobs but also as he’s an immortal and she’s mortal.

In typical NJ Walter style, this is a well written, fast-paced read full of passion and some humor thrown in. You visit with some of the characters from the previous releases in the guise of Asher getting help from old friends which helps to tie in the series plot. I won’t name any names or give any hints so that you’d want to dear reader get to know them as much as I did with every encounter. Hopefully the next book in the series comes soon to tone down my impatience over a certain werewolf’s fate.

I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Entangle-NetGalley and give it five stars due to my very genuine enjoyment of it.

Jo is a vampire Hunter, and a very good one, when she receives an email from an unknown source telling her we’re a group of rouge vampires are meeting, she decides this is right up her alley. Then she meets Asher. He to hunts rouge vampires but not quite the same way she does. He to got a message from a unknown source. What happens when the 2 come together?

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

Loved it!
Burning Ash by N.J. Walters is fast paced, engaging and totally enthralling. It was a great mix and kept me intrigued both wondering how the situation would resolve itself. I will recommend this book to our readers. They will love his book!

I liked this book better then the first. I felt like Asher was a much better male love I treat. He was more loving and passionate in my opinion. I loved the relationship dynamic. Both characters were strong in their own way and only became stronger and better together. I loved how patient Asher was with Jo while she adjusted and grew to trust him. The plot was exciting, the added mystery was a nice touch and having multiple possible bad guys kept the story moving.

Paranormal Romance readers check this one out!! Don't let that book 3 scare you because this one is also a stand alone. I found it epic, sexy, and just wow! Badass heroines, a tortured hero and just a kick butt book is what I fell in love with this one. I just loved how everything unfolded with a perfect mix of romance, action, and sexy!!

A great action packed addition to the series, this being the third book. Love the characters and the story. I don’t believe there’s ever been a book by the author that i didn’t enjoy.

This is the third book in the Author's 'Forgotten Brotherhood' series and whilst I think it can be read as a standalone I would recommend reading the previous books first .

Ancient Vampire Asher is a leading member of the Forgotten Brotherhood - a vampire with a difference - he can pass for human , walk in the sun and eat food . His goal to rid the world of baddest paranormals whilst maintaing his cover .
Jo hates vampires , which makes her job as a skilled vampire hunter that much more enjoyable ................ and when she receives an email about a crazed vampire , who is about to go on a spree she has no hesitation in charging into action . But wait , who is the Human who has taken down the crazed vampire before she can ? .............. for Asher has also received an email .
It cannot be a coincidence that places them both at the scene together ......... just who ? and why ? is this part of a larger plan ?
The chemistry between the Asher and Joe is off the charts , the action fast paced throughout , with twists and turns aplenty . Will they survive the plot against them ? Will their relationship survive when Jo discovers that Asher is a vampire ?- her enemy ?
This book is a great read , one I could not put down - if Paranormal, Romantic Suspense is your genre then this book is just right for you .
I was given an arc of the book by NetGalley and the Publisher in exchange for an honest review - all thoughts and opinions are my own .

Burning Ash by N.J. Walters is book Three in the Forgotten Brotherhood Series. This is the story of Asher 'Ash' and Jo. I have read the previous books which added to my enjoyment of this one. But, I did feel you could make it a standalone book if you wish to do so. Jo is a vampire hunter/killer who hates vampires of course. Jo is a strong women that doesn't take things the easy way. Asher is a vampire who is thousands of years old and is one of the leading members in the Forgotten Brotherhood that hunt down paranormal people doing bad. When he gets a email reporting a vampire that has gone to the bad side, Asher decides to look into. What he finds is Jo taken the vampire out herself. They end up finding that they have a mutual path in taken out evil vampires but more than that they both are receiving the emails alerting them to different jobs. This puts them to working together and building on their attraction. Loved this book and this author's writing. I would recommend both.

I am loving the ‘Forgotten Brotherhood‘ series, and now we get to dive into ‘Burning Ash‘… Asher’s story, possibly the oldest vampire on earth and he is kicking butt sexy, powerful, and about to meet his match in vampire hunter Jo. Asher is able to appear human – he can walk in the sun, eat anything he desires, and doesn’t give off that evil vampire vibe, but never doubt just how powerful he is. He and the other members of the Brotherhood take down the baddest of the bad in paranormals, yet this time around he isn’t convinced that he and Jo have not been set up, made bait for something even bigger to come. And he wouldn’t be wrong in that assumption.

When Jo gets an untraceable email stating that a crazed vampire is about to go on a killing spree she heads in without hesitation. She’s a skilled vampire hunter and was doing just fine, she thought, when a human will step in to help take down evil incarnate in action. Asher also gets that untraceable email that leads him to this spot to stand back a bit and watch Jo in action. He’ll have no problems taking a hand in putting one bad vampire down, yet he’s also aware that putting him (a vampire) and Jo (a vampire hunter) together by an unknown source is not a coincidence but part of someone’s plan – and he’s going to get to the bottom of it all… and perhaps find the love of his long life along the way.

The chemistry between Asher and Jo was off the charts from the start and didn’t really slow down once Jo realized that Asher is one of those she hunts. And neither intends to be a puppet for the unseen puppetmaster to play out their unknown master plan.

The action is fast, the steaminess is beyond hot, and the secondary characters bring so much to ‘Burning Ash‘. I had a blast back in this world. Although each story is complete in itself, with a thread woven throughout, I’d still suggest reading in order (if you can) for you’ll get a better feel and understanding of this world. The villain is vile, and figuring out the whys of it all was an intriguing part of this story for me. Asher and Jo were perfect together in their imperfections. Talk about opposites attract, right? We do get the chance to meet up with earlier book friends, and perhaps a hint of what is yet to come. If you love a really good Paranormal Romantic Suspense – then this series is for you.

(just one little thing tho – my Asher, the one I’ve read descriptions of is blonde – and although hot and handsome, that dude on the cover is not blonde… not a biggie but noticeable to me)

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from Entangled Publishing via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

This review is not going to be long. I am not a huge fan of a review rehashing the entire plot and spoiling it for everyone.

This book starts off fast paced and it stays that way. It has plenty of intrigue, humor, action, and of course romance to have you hooked from beginning to end.

I received an ARC of this book to read through NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Asher and Jo peeked my interest from the start. These characters have spark and so much more.

Asher is a dark sexy thousands years old Vampire. Asher is fun and caring until till you piss him off, then not even the gods can save you from his wrath. All Asher knew was he needed answers and quick, before his sidekick add his head to her collection.

Jo Radcliffe is one surprise that I didn’t see come, but oh so glad to have met this heroine. Jo is feisty, brilliant and so easy to enjoy. Jo finds herself with a sidekick she is not totally sure she wants to keep. After Jo has been made a vampire hunter by a trauma from her past, she has never stopped to hunting them.

Asher and Jo their unlikely pairing is what made Burning Ash book 3# of the Forgotten Brotherhood Series such a huge hit for me. Their witty banter flows in every chapter, their chemistry is off the charts as is their duty to save the world from the things that go bump in the dark.

The supporting characters The Forgotten Brotherhood Assassination, Marcus, Morrigan, Bjorn and Alexei & Cassandra are quite interesting I cannot wait to read their stories. They all are amazing additions to both Asher and Jo. Marcus & Morrigan’s story is book 1, Alexei & Cassondra is book 2 in the Forgotten Brotherhood Series.

Burning Ash by NJ Walters is a magnificent read from cover to cover. Burning Ash is a book full of dark and light mystical beings, add in a human hunter, a handful of your mixed bag of Vampires, Angels,a Hell Bounty Hunter, a few plot twist and you have the makings of one amazing read.

4.5 stars

I tried to read this closer to publication date so I can for once review and post it on time. And of course, real life decided to interfere and leave me with no down time to read it. It took me days to finish this. A whole week to be exact. I'm a relatively fast reader and not being able to read this when I wanted to frustrated me to no end which of course affected my enjoyment of this.

What I love about this series is the fact that everything goes. We got a fallen angel in the first one, a vampire bear shifter hybrid in the second, and for the third we got one of the very first vampires with some special abilities. With each book we get more and more worldbuilding and see more of the Powers at play. Though each of the books are standalones, I would suggest reading them in order as you get more a feel for the world, they are in.

Asher is one of the oldest vampires in the world, a member of the Forgotten Brotherhood and like his Brothers he is committed to the Brotherhood and only kills those who deserve it. An untraceable email catches his curiosity and when he shows up to the suggested place he watches in fascination as stunning woman with a crossbow confronts a vampire intent on a mass feeding. The female vampire hunter fights with expertise and grace and Asher becomes even more fascinated as he watches her.

Jo Radcliffe is surprised to see a stranger come out of the shadows during her fight with the vamp. As a vampire hunter she makes a point of being aware of her surroundings at all times, it's a life or death matter. While she finds him attractive and compelling, she also believes him to be just another vampire hunter, and most of them are arrogant and controlling so she tries to brush him off and leave. But Asher isn't about to let this captivating woman leave him behind. And there's the matter of the untraceable email to solve.

When Asher tells her, he was only there because of an anonymous email he couldn't trace and that she also received one, it immediately rouses suspicions and Jo doesn't believe in coincidences. She allows him to catch a ride and they decide to stick together for the time being until they figure out what is going on. Asher uses the time to try to get closer to her, to get to know her and tries his hardest to get her to let him in her life. Jo resists him but her attraction to him and his efforts to protect her and take care of her, weakens her resolve.

As events progress it's clear that Jo is continually being used as bait to weaken or destroy the Brotherhood. The question is who would mess with them. Who would have the audacity and the power to do so and can they take their enemy down?

I loved reading about these two building a relationship together and I loved even more that Maccus and Morrigan from the first book make more of an appearance in this one. I also cannot wait to read a book about the first Viking Werewolf, Bjorn! I'm a sucker for a good Alpha Werewolf. All in all, another great addition to the series and if N.J. Walters gives me a book for the Viking werewolf, I'll be happier than a kid let loose in a candy shop.

This was my first book by this author and boy did I enjoy it. Fast paced, full of action, and definitely helps that even though it's part of a series this book stands very well on its own. Definitely didn't expect to love this one as much as I did so I am very very happy with the outcome. This may have been my first by Walters, but it definitely won't be my last.

Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my review copy!

This is one of my favorite series.
If you are a paranormal fan who likes a solid ongoing storyline that is packed with action and suspense - highlighting powerful characters that are easy to connect with all taking place in a well-crafted world
This is the series for you
Truly -
You just can't beat a grumpy possible guardian angel, a vampy polar bear hybrid and an Egyptian blessed vampire, oh and a Viking werewolf (but he is another story) And let us not forget the strong stubborn fabulously fun women who tamed them
I think this might be my favorite in the series to date.

Morrigan and a not so happy Maccus make an appearance attempting to help Asher figure out who is messing with the Forgotten -
Then add into the medley a sassy vampire huntress who seems to be the reference point for all the current chaos -
An angry presence that looms just out of reach -
Oh and a bounty on the above-mentioned huntress' head-
And you have the perfect recipe for fast-paced, action-packed suspense.
And a seriously smokin' hot fatal attraction

Poor Jo, she never got a break! She also never backed down.
I do have all kinds of questions though
- Who tried to get her to swing the sword
- Was it really him that put out the contract
- If so why?
- Where is wolfy?

I know those questions and more will be answered as the series progresses and the wait will be worth it -
Until then...
