I really enjoyed this cookbook. I found it easy to read and very well laid out. The tips are also very helpful. There are a lot of recipes I am looking forward to trying and I can see easily becoming staples in my home.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I bookmarked a number of recipes to try in this cookbook. When I saw the table of contents I wasn't sure how I would like the organization of the recipes but once I started reading it made sense and was very easy to follow. Great pictures. Easy and well-organized directions. I appreciate NetGalley giving me the opportunity to review this cookbook.

Want to eat healthy but short on time? This cookbooks is a must have. Loaded with delicious recipes with short ingredient lists and even shorter prep/cook times. You'll find make ahead meals, meals that allow you to make other meals from the leftovers, instant pot meals and much more. I especially loved the grab and go breakfast recipes as getting my kids to eat a healthy breakfast before school has been a challenge.

Thank you to Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and NetGalley for allowing me to read a pre-release of this cookbook. My review is voluntary and all opinions are my own.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book. Some great recipe ideas and wonderail tips. Easy to follow instructions, lots of nice pictures. Again, big drawback is lack of nutritional information. Nice to know it is gluten free, dairy free etc but fats and sugar counts would be nice to know. Firecracker cauliflower was a hit. Everyone loved the dun-dried tomato snd goat cheese frittata. The Italian dub skewers were good and fun to make. A very nice change of pace for lunch. 3.5 stars, rounded down because of lack of nutritional information.

I loved this cookbook! This cookbook contains a variety of recipes that are healthy and family friendly. I will definitely refer to this for ideas when meal prepping and for Whole30 options. I can tell a lot of these recipes are going to be favorites.

I really like the Whole Smiths. I have their other cookbook and use it regularly. This cookbook continues that tradition of excellence. I will absolutely be making Chai spice mix for friends and family as Christmas presents. The one minute mayo is perfection. The Sheet Pan Beef Jerky is now a staple in our house. My favorite chapter was 5 ingredients or less. It's worth buying this book for that chapter alone. I cannot say enough about the Chicken Mole instant pot recipe. I tell everyone about how good it is. Buy this cookbook.

I thought this was such a great cookbook. I love how she talked about how she got into cooking for her family and all the recipes she created for this book. I think the recipes looked amazing. A lot of them dairy and gluten free friendly. I even wrote down some of her recipes to try and see how they turned out.

The Whole Smiths Real Food Every Day offers lots of healthy options for the weeknight cook. I
particularly enjoyed the sections regarding meal prep and the recipes for smoothies, snacks, and salads now that my stay-at-home kitchen has become an all day grazing station. There are many gluten-free, dairy-free, and grain-free offerings as well. I would have liked more photos!

Thank you to Michelle Smith and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for the ARC.

I was enticed by this "whole foods-based diet" cookbook, but greatly disappointed once I started reading. The recipes are very meat heavy and she does include dairy, both of which are not part of a whole-foods plant-based diet. The cookbook description did not mention that at all which I feel is very misleading. I will probably make the Firecracker Cauliflower but that's about it.

I'm not seeing anything new in this book. It's okay but not something I'll keep on hand. No nutritional info? Not much help really.

What a fantastic cookbook. I'm so excited to purchase a copy for myself, but also to purchase a copy for our Family & Consumer science classroom as they learn about diets and meal planning.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of The Whole Smiths Real Food Every Day.

I'm not familiar with this author but I'm always on the lookout for paleo recipes since I went semi-paleo a few years ago.

The recipes are diverse, and run the gamut of paleo, gluten free and vegan, so there is something for anyone especially if you or anyone in your family has a food allergy or is looking to eat cleaner, like me.

The photos came out well even on my Kindle.

I don't understand the way the recipes were grouped; there's no category like Breakfast, Brunch, Entrees, and seemed haphazard at best. I hope this is corrected on the final version.

My only two caveats are:

1. Lack of nutritional information

2. No dessert recipes or section on desserts

Overall, a good cookbook with recipes I'd make.

I was excited to dive into this cookbook thinking it was a Paleo based book. Michelle had mentioned in the beginning of the book that her family transitioned to the paleo lifestyle. However, after looking through the recipes, I would not consider this cookbook a paleo based cookbook. Some of the ingredients just don't fit. However, if anyone is considering a transition between an unhealthy life style to a more clean eating lifestyle and even eventually paleo, I was highly recommend "The Whole Smith's Real Food Every Day" Wonderfully written, Great recipes (most ingredients are easily accessible) and I loved that she gave further instructions on how long the sauces would last in the fridge.

This book was received as an ARC from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I absolutely loved this book and all the recipes featured in it. Michelle and her family are so adorable and they have so many wonderful stories to share. The recipes look absolutely delicious and I can't wait to try them especially the apple cinnamon frittatas. I also appreciated the fact that a lot of the dishes focused around foods you can find at any supermarket and farmer's markets. There are many healthy cookbooks out there but this one focuses on foods that make you feel good and enjoy life rather than what/how these foods are good for your body. When our cooking demo comes back, this book is a definite good candidate and our community will love it.

We will consider adding this title to our TX Non-Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

This is yet another "healthy eating" book that doesn't include nutritional information, which is a major pet peeve of mine. Folks who have to monitor their fat, carbs, protein, fiber or sodium are out of luck when trying to determine which recipes will work for their families. It's also another book that defines healthy eating by the author's family's specific beliefs, needs and preferences, which may or may not match yours. In this case, it's whole 30, gluten free, mostly grain free, mostly dairy free, heavy on meat, and all natural with the exception of added trendy ingredients like collagen peptides. Many recipes are paleo, not very many are keto, and some are vegan and vegetarian.

Very few grains are used at all, even ones that others might consider healthy like quinoa, wild rice or amaranth (with the exception of oats), so it will work well for paleo folks. That said, it uses a lot of carbs like tapioca flour and honey (even in savory dishes) so it won't work very very well for keto folks without modifications. Photos accompany about half of the recipes, many of which include the author and her family.

Chapters include make-ahead, instant pot, sheet pan, weekend (indulgence), five ingredients or less, meal prep, tips, etc. There are no specific chapters for vegetarian, breakfast, soups and salads, etc. and these are mixed in the other chapters. There are many tips that will be helpful for those who are new to cooking or new to "whole foods" cooking.

This will be a fantastic cookbook for those whose needs and tastes match the author's. My family's don't really match well and the recipes didn't appeal to me that much, but they're likely to be a home run with other families.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

Thank you to Netgalley and publisher for the advanced digital copy!

I have followed Michelle for several years and I love her easy to make healthy recipes! Just when you think that you’ve run out of recipes she makes another winner. Her recipes are easy to follow and delicious. I highly recommend this to anyone that is in a cooking rut.

I follow Whole30 on IG, so I have heard of "the whole Smiths" and was excited to get a temporary digital review copy of this new cookbook. It is broken into sections based more on cooking methods or time than by ingredient. For example, there is a section for "sheet pan" meals.

I've been cooking "whole food" for a long time because of several food allergies and intolerance issues. This book has great recipes, many that can be modified easily. For example, the Harissa chicken sheet pan recipe could easily have the harissa replaced by something else, like honey mustard or barbecue sauce. Novice cooks might be thrown by long ingredient lists on some recipes, but I can tell you that mole sauce is about a third the length of a traditional mole recipe and I can't wait to try it.

The tips in the beginning as well as tips strewn throughout the book are fantastic and worth the price of admission, even if, like me, you know of some of them. A few recipes did not include photos, and I'm not sure so many photos of the family are necessary, but I'm sure fans will appreciate getting to know them more.

This is the type of cookbook I will pick up at some point and cook my way through. I recommend it! Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a review copy.
