If this synopsis doesn't get you to buy this book, I don't know what will!
This caught my attention and surpassed my expectations... thank you Michelle Smith for this amazing book!

"Today, more than ever, people are looking to transition to a whole foods-based diet, aware of the health benefits of fresh foods over highly processed options. Still, people are used to convenience, and have busy schedules and little time to put a meal on the table. The Whole Smiths Real Food Every Day solves the problem of what’s for dinner during a hectic week. With simple, accessible recipes that are designed to be made ahead, used for leftovers, or thrown into a slow cooker, families will be able to easily prepare healthy meals on a regular basis. Chapters like Sheet Pan Recipes, One-Pot Wonders, Meal Prep, and Leftover Makeovers will guide readers in making the most of their time in the kitchen while delivering healthy recipes that can be made with minimal effort. This follow-up to the best-selling The Whole Smiths Good Food Cookbook will also highlight which recipes are gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free, and more, making it easy to prepare recipes to fit into any diet."

Reading this within the NetGalley app that eventually disappears or expires is not the most ideal - especially for cookbooks that I'd love to have access to after it pubs.

I want to thank NetGalley, the author and the publisher for providing me with an eARC of this publication. In return, I have promised to provide an unbiased review. I really wish more cookbooks were formatted better and offered as a Kindle version.

Great book for when you feel like you’re in a rut and unsure of what to make but want something more whole based with less processed foods. The breakdown between things to prep for condiments and things that can be made ahead for breakfasts plus other meals was super helpful.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this cookbook.

I enjoyed reading through the recipes. They were all easy to follow. I made a few of the dishes and they were wonderful. In my house, meals are a hit if the kids enjoy them and they absolutely did!

I'll be sure to keep the recipes in rotation and will be trying out other recipes in the future.

This is well written and easy to follow. I enjoyed that these were healthy versions of classic recipes. We made several of these recipes. The recipe is easy to follow, even for beginner cooks. I would highly recommend getting some to give as gifts!
Thank you to the author, publisher and netgalley for allowing me to read a copy of this book.

Good book for people who want to eat more nutritious food. It's not anything groundbreakingly new, but could be helpful in getting ideas for what to cook daily.

There are a lot of great Whole Foods recipes in here that aren't on social media already. I enjoyed "working" my way through this and found quite a few favorites that I'll go back and make again! This was my first ARC of a cookbook but I really enjoyed the different review process.

I received an advance copy; all thoughts are my own.

An interesting cookbook but wasn't one that really intrigued.me. I can see where others might find it useful.

I know I'm gonna love a cookbook when a chapter is titled "aww, sheet" as I can't resist a play on words. But a cookbook needs to be more than amusing and this book definitely is!

This cookbook is full of fresh healthy food, very nearly paleo with a reliance on coconut aminos and almond flour. If you follow a paleo diet, or aspire to, this is a great cookbook full of many non traditional recipes full of flavor. Nearly every recipe (maybe all of them) have photos.

Thank you Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Real Food Every Day is a very approachable cookbook that allows for a variety of food systems and prioritizes making (and eating!) fresh and satisfying food. I really liked how she leans into the "food freedom" concept and acknowledges that what everyone wants and needs from "healthy" food is different.

"You can still enjoy your favorite foods while living a very healthy lifestyle. In fact, I venture to say, an even healthier lifestyle, because you can release the mental traps that come with the extremes. There's a wide array of "healthy" that falls between a strict one-thousand-calorie-a-day diet designed to maintain a certain size and continually consuming processed fast foods and shotgunnings sugar-laden sodas. This book represents 'that' healthy. They healthy that still loves to have pizza every now and again but is mindful of how it affects your body." (from the introduction)

I just really appreciated this approach and it results in a book of recipes that includes sweet, savory, healthy, AND cravable recipes. I also really appreciated her section of simple recipes that basically just use what's in your pantry and a handful of fresh foods, and the instant pot section. These are so great for weekday nights and easy meals that still allow me to fuel my body with the things that make me feel good. But there's also adventurous and more complicated. Overall it was such a nice mix, I've liked everything I've tried to make from the cookbook, and am looking forward to working some of these recipes into the regular rotation here.

I wasn't familiar with this blogger before receiving this cookbook to review but I am always looking for great new cookbooks that focus on whole foods. Before getting into the recipes, the author gives some handy tips and tricks. The recipes are heavy on animal products so if you're vegetarian or vegan, this is not the cookbook for you. There is a table at the end showing which recipes are vegan, vegetarian, paleo, gluten-free, etc which is handy and not something I've seen in a lot of cookbooks. As a vegan, I was hoping for more suitable recipes for me, but there just weren't many I'd want to try.

A new year calls for new goals and new direction. One such goal on most people’s list is eating healthier foods and meals. The Whole Smiths Easy Recipes for Weeknight Cooking by food blogger, Michelle Smith, gives you many recipe options which focus on whole-food meals with the use of minimally processed and nutrient dense foods. I like that each recipe will state whether it’s dairy free, gluten free, grain free, nut free, paleo or vegetarian. This is helpful when looking for recipes that meet any special dietary needs.

Some recipes that I’m looking forward to trying are from The Sheet Pan section such as: Sriracha Salmon & Broccoli and Sheet Pan Eggplant Parmesan. And don’t these 30 Minutes or less recipes sound good: Drive-Through Burger Bowls and Italian-Sub Skewers.

I want to thank #NetGalley, the publisher and #TheWholeSmithsRealFoodEveryday for a free digital ARC for review purposes. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Devouring food and creating new dishes while in lockdown has been a pastime for a lot of us but it gets boring quickly when you’re making the same old things over and over again. Not only can find some new recipes with this cookbook, but you’ll be sure to get inspired by some new meals that aren’t hard to make and recreate.
