I really enjoy this author and follow her on Instagram. These recipes are great for people on a budget. I do feel that some of them use ingredients that I would never use and are just too unusual. They are not things that I feel are doable for my family. I will continue to follow and check out other recipes and maybe we can change some of our ingredients in our house over to these.

Instant Loss on a Budget will fill a need for a great many people. Anyone who has ever tried to diet can confirm that it is often more expensive than eating junk. Fresh vegetables, lean proteins and so forth are not inexpensive. However, Ms. Williams finds a way to truly make a dollar stretch while still providing healthy meal options in this book. I was quite impressed. This book offers meal plans that enable the reader to plan everything out in advance. Ms. Williams also gives tips on how to pick and choose the organic items you purchase.

My only concern with this book was that she didn't provide any type of nutritional information for the recipes. I believe if she added that, this book would feel more on point. Other than that, it's a very informative cookbook with wonderful suggestions.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily chose to review this cookbook and the opinions contained within are my own.

***Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
This was a great book that has helped me find affordable options to eat that won't contribute to my weight gain.

Interesting cookbook with lots of different kinds of recipes. I really thought there would be more low-carb recipes in the book but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and quantity of the recipes. I loved the pictures in the book but I felt the layout was somewhat stark and not as inviting as it could have been. I haven't tried any of the recipes yet but I plan on it within the next week or so.

Thank you to the publisher, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt & NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest and unbiased opinion.

This book was received as an ARC from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

I am familiar with Brittany's journey and it's so amazing how much weight she lost just by changing her relationship with food and cut out the foods that she deemed "unnecessary" such as gluten, sugar, takeout, and processed foods and changing her life for the better each day. Now without it costing an arm and a leg, Brittany shows in Instant Loss on a Budget that living a happy and healthy life does not have to break the bank. I can't wait to try the Barbeque Chicken and the Baby Back Ribs and the Cauliflower Mac and Cheese looked amazing too. I know this book will circulate well especially if Brittany has a following within our community.

We will consider adding this title to our TX Non Fiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.

Instant Loss on a Budget is not the cookbook for me. It has absolutely no nutritional guide for the recipes. I would really love to know the serving sizes and calories etcetera. This was an instant turnoff for me. Not too mention I'm not sure how budget friendly it would really be having to buy all kind of specialty products that I don't currently use that are mentioned.

Rating 5

This cookbook is titled "Instant Loss on a Budget" and it helps you do just that. When I first got this book I glanced through it and I immediately noticed the high quality pictures. The food looks delicious! While there are a good amount of food pictures there of course could always be more. I loved seeing the chef with her family all around the table or helping out in the kitchen. This makes the reader believe they too can bring their family into the kitchen for these recipes. Another thing that stood out to me was how much research the author had to do. She had to put these shopping lists together while at the same time keeping the cost low and the food healthy. This is not an easy task which is why so many people struggle with it. I honestly believe if people buy this book there should be no reason why they cannot keep their food cost low and their diet healthy. The recipes are mostly healthy but what I liked about them is it's food people actually want to eat. Also, she came up with such a diverse menu there is something for everyone even those picky eaters or especially younger children. Some of the recipes are quick and easy if you have a time restraint while others are more intricate but still can be done by a beginner chef. Going to a party? No problem! She also has a section on party appetizers so you no longer have to fear eating only junk food at parties. It is possible to diet and be healthy but still eat a good amount of yummy food.

Should you read "Instant Loss on a Budget"?
Yes! If you need help eating healthy and not spending too much money this book is for you. The author even gives you a grocery list of which items to buy and how to cut costs when you can. This book is full of yummy recipes and I promise it will not disappoint.

“Instant Loss on a Budget isn’t about eating the cheapest foods out there, It’s about learning how to make an investment in your overall health and well-being that will yield a great return in the long run.” That’s the theme of Brittany Williams’ well-planned third cookbook. She shares how changing her diet started her amazing weight loss journey but this is not another diet book. It’s a guide to healthy eating for an entire family, with tasty, nutritious meals that appeal to children (Brittany and her husband have three) and are suitable for those on gluten and dairy free diets.

After sharing her favorite easy, quick meals and snacks, Brittany provides four weeks of three meal a day menus. This isn’t a unique idea but each week has its own shopping list. How easy is that? The recipes follow. The food is gorgeously photographed and the instructions easy to follow. In addition to the expected categories, there are recipes for healthy cocktail party appetizers. After the final dessert recipes, Brittany has added the method to make many of her basic kitchen staples. The meal plans in Instant Loss on a Budget are designed to save money, something that will appeal to all families.

Many of these recipes are made with an Instant Pot, an appliance that Brittany, a young mother who homeschools, uses to save time. Just as she writes that a NutriBullet can substitute perfectly for a Vitamix, I’m sure a Dutch oven can be used. However, InstantPots can be found for under $100 on Amazon and Walmart. This cookbook is a must buy for anyone who wants to make their diet healthier and especially those who avoid gluten, dairy and sugar. 5 stars.

Thank you to NetGalley, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and Brittany Williams for this ARC.

Instant Loss on a Budget by Brittany Williams is a must-buy for anyone who struggles with eating gluten-free or dairy-free. I've followed InstantLoss for about a year and have her first two cookbooks. This new cookbook breaks down the cost of each recipe so it doesn't break your wallet. Brittany Williams explains how she buys things in bulk and stores them to increase their shelf-life. I've already made several of the recipes in the new book! The Chocolate-Pecan cookies are incredible!

Thank you to NetGalley and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for an advanced digital copy of this book. I can't wait to get it on 12.29.20.

Wonderful cookbook!
I'm so pleased to see family-friendly meals that are healthy, easy to make-and affordable ones to boot!
I loved how each recipe broke down the cost to make each recipe.
Beautiful pictures throughout!

The only gripe I have is that there are no nutritional facts for the recipes. That is the main thing I look for when buying a cookbook or not-I need to see the nutritional facts because my husband is a type 1 diabetic, and I need to know how many carbs there are per serving.

Other than that, this is a great addition to her other cookbooks!

Thank you to NetGalley, publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and Brittany Williams for this temporary, digital advance review copy for me to read and enjoy. My review is voluntary, and my opinions are my own.

Instant Loss on a Budget by Brittany Williams is a solid cookbook with tons of tips on eating healthy without spending too much money. This book is part cookbook, budgeting tips, and diet advice on how she lost her weight.

Williams has lost 125 pounds in a year by eliminating processed foods, gluten, sugar, and dairy from her diet. She focuses mostly on grain free but gives plenty of tips on finding deals, and planning meals. Her cookbook also includes a four week meal plan and even better, a grocery list to go with the meal plan. Small amounts of meat are used in the recipes, honey and eggs are used so definitely not a vegan cookbook.

I think one of the things that can be overwhelming about cooking healthy is taking the time to plan out a grocery list, shop for the items and then prepare them. Williams does have tips that really help. There are many recipes that are written for the instant pot. So a better title or subtitle could be Instant Loss on a Budget -Featuring Instant Pot Recipes.

I do notice that cutting back on eating out not only saves me money but also helps me lose weight. There are times where I intentionally go off gluten, grains and dairy because I believe it gives my body a chance to detox and calm down inflammation.

Thank you to NetGalley, publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and Brittany Williams for this temporary, digital advance review copy for me to read and enjoy. My review is voluntary and my opinions are my own.

Instant Loss on a Budget is a very well thought out cookbook. I LOVE how it has a 4 week meal plan, plus the grocery list to go with it. One of the hardest things being a mother and having to go tot the store with your children is, trying to make a grocery list. Trying to please everyone's taste plus make sure you have enough ingredients for a meal is stressful when you are working on a budget. In the cookbook Instant Loss on a Budget, they grocery lists are made for you! I also like how the author talks about alternative flours as I try to be grain free as much as possible, so this was a nice surprise. The cost of each recipe in the upper right hand corner of the page is also magnificent

The only thing I think I was wishing for in this book but didn't find, is a more in dept look at substitutions for grains and the flours. This cookbook will for sure be a staple in our household!

This book has a lot of good recipes in it that are healthy and budget friendly. They are easy to follow - easy to make and they were very tasty. I have been on a weight loss journey - but sometimes that can get expensive - this books helps keep the pocketbook in check.

This is the authors 3rd cook book - I will have to check out the other ones.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read a copy of this book.

This book has something for everyone. There are recipes for people, including those who are dairy-free. There are pressure cooking times. There's information on all the different types of food, meat, eggs, poultry, and fish and how they are raised, and what you should be looking for when buying them. Brittany discusses meatless Mondays and gives you a list of protein substitutes you can use to save yourself some money since meat is so expensive. She also discusses great places to shop from to get quality products at the best cost. Personally, I love Costco, which is mentioned frequently in this book. So, that is a big thumbs up from me. The thing missing for me was the fact that there isn't any dietary information for the recipes. Since it's geared towards losing weight on a budget, I think that's important to know.

As I age, I find myself being more interested in eating healthier. The writing in Instant Loss on a Budget was easy to read and use in a practical way. Meal plans are thought out and recipes easy to follow and you get a shopping list. It makes using this and making change to your meal planning simple.

This is the second cookbook I have reviewed for Netgalley. The author is someone I have heard of, and heard about before due to her miraculous weight loss that she has maintained by eating natural on a budget. She truly follows no specific diet, per se, although what she does is similar to the paleo diet. The foods are gluten and dairy free, and in some cases there are vegan tips given as well.
I will say that the book was read through my Kindle, and it was extremely hard to read through. Hopefully, when the book comes out to the public, if it is purchased in ebook format, it will be fixed!
The book starts with her thoughts on how to save your budget while eating whole foods, and gluten/dairy free. She goes over equipment needed, and the entire book involves using the Instapot to prepare the recipes. Usually there is a note on how to cook the item using the oven/stove, but regardless, the book revolves around the use of the Instapot. This is a little concerning because not everyone owns one.
She does also state that even picky eaters will like the meals, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

"Instant Loss on a budget" is a comprehensive cookbook that proves dieting doesnt have to be bland and it DOESNT have to break the bank!

This is a decent sized cookbook that offers delicious dietary options that can be prepared even with a stict budget. I loved alot of the recipes but there were a few that werent my "cup of tea". Overall this book offers tons of delicious options that let you shave off unnecessary cost while shedding unnecessary pounds!

The recipes are straightforward and easy to follow and are accompanied by stunning photos which is always a plus in cookbooks.

I loved this cookbook, has tons of great ideas and recipes and I love how its broken down with the cost and she offers lots of great tips for meal planning with keeping your grocery budget in mind. Instant Loss on a Budget also includes tons of ingredients that are found in every day kitchen and pantries which is great and made me want to get started right away. Any ingredients that are a little less common, such as cassava flour has been given some details and instructions which is super helpful when starting with a new ingredient. Loved the vegetarian section, the two bean and lentil chili is delish! Also I hadn't considered using a pressure cooker to make drinks but the lemon turmeric tea and dinosaur juice are such great recipes. I am definitely looking forward to trying out even more recipes from Instant Loss on a Budget this fall!

Brittany Williams book to help you set goals and reach them realistically is a great tool. I've already marked a lot of pages and reciepes/tricks I want to come back to before I plan my next shopping trip. While the ARC of this book made the formatting a little hard to follow overall, I felt like I got a good sense of what the cookbook will provide and look forward to trying some of Brittany's plans. This book is definitely for moms planning family meals and grocery shopping for a crew rather than a single person looking to spend less at the grocery story, but I think there are some gems in here even for those without families.

Instant Loss on a Budget by Brittany Williams says how to have healthy foods at a cheaper price. Usually, we think buying dried fruits and other products as costly but we end up eating preprocessed and unhealthy food which costs more than that.

She says what worked for her and tries to help us make our own chart of a healthy diet. She gives a 4-week chart with the six-day plan and necessary items and ingredient to buy and various recipes to try. She gives alternatives for various ingredients but most of the ingredients mentioned are not available in my locality and it is even very very expensive online but there are few recipes that can be tried will try it for sure.

Eat healthy to live healthily. Investing in our own health is important to live long and enjoy the life.
