A truly gorgeous festive read that will really get you in the mood for Christmas. I warmed to Rosie from the off and in getting to know her son Danny was heartwarming. It’s a story full of love, hope, family and friendship and a tale about looking to the future rather than dwelling on the past.

Rosie hasn’t had the easiest of lives and Mark leaving her to fend for herself and her son for so long. Which has made her extremely independent but she’s always worried that Danny was missing out until he gets to know Mitchell better – the change in him is paramount.

As we meet Rosie she’s been sent to Cornwall on a mission to check out why The Old Bell Inn isn’t performing to standard. I have to mention Susan she’s the worst boss ever and you’ll be infuriated with her 90% of the time, from the off she comes across as a control freak but there’s so much to her.

As she arrives it’s the rockiest of starts when she meets a surly man who misjudges her and then they’ve overbooked and there isn’t a room for Rosie and her young son Danny. Not only is it the Christmas break Danny also celebrates his 8th birthday on Christmas Eve so thinking of her son before her job she stands her ground and makes sure she has a place to stay.

The surly man turns out to be none other than Mitchell Fitzpatrick, the manager and the guy she’s been sent to inspect. They really don’t get off to the best of starts but the Irishman sure does have a charm deep down. I loved seeing the changes in both Rosie and Mitchell – I have to mention It’s A Wonderful Life although my mum always states it’s more of a new year watch than a Christmas film.

Now anyone who knows me knows I’m a sucker for an Irishman so Mitchell was exactly the rogue I would also fall for. I loved seeing him with Danny as much as he had instantly set Rosie’s hackles he had made a friend in the young lad. In seeing him shine more and more thanks to Mitchell, a number of staff members and the gorgeous selection of horses. Danny’s love for horses and the stunning scenery Cornwall has to offer is heartwarming.

There are a number of bumps in the road, miscommunications, children and ex’s but hang on in there and devour every single page.

This rollercoaster ride really does take you through a number of emotions but deep down family, love and integrity are truly all that matters oh and a gorgeous Irishman full of charm, sensitivity and one who will kiss you like you’re the last woman on earth – my I felt every emotion that Rosie was feeling. This novel will have you swooning threefold just the tonic I needed right now.

This is the first book I’ve read of Nancy’s and what a treat devoured over an afternoon or two and a great addition to my Christmas reading and a gorgeous way to start December.

Here I am again, singing the praises of another rom-com which I always claim is not my favourite genre. This one is more perfect than I could imagine and I already want to read it all over again! This book is perfect for anyone who loves a cosy Christmas read filled with brilliant characters, quaint little villages and a few shocks along the way. 

My heart is so full right now and I’m finding it difficult to sum up what a wonderful book this is! The story expresses such a heartwarming bond between mother and son, as well as of a woman who is seeking a kind of happiness she’s never had before, and never knew she needed. Rosie and Mitchell’s relationship has been such a pleasure to experience and I was so immersed in their incredible story. Community spirit is portrayed so well and I am now dying to travel down to Cornwall! Rom-com lovers may find themselves a new favourite book here. This one is just a wonderful festive read, another one that has got me so in the mood for Christmas. A five star book without a doubt!

I read the synopsis for ‘No Room At The Little Cornish Inn’ and it certainly sounded like the light hearted, fun and festive read that I so needed at that particular moment in time.  Without further ado, I grabbed my copy and settled down for a reading binge.  Overall, I did enjoy reading ‘No Room At The Little Cornish Inn’ but more about that in a bit.
I have to be honest and say that it took me a while to get into this book.  I guess that I didn’t feel that instant connection with the lead characters that I sometimes feel.  Don’t get me wrong, Rosie Anderson was a nice enough girl but to start with at times she got on my nerves.  However, once I got into the story then that was it and I was away.  This wasn’t a book that I could binge read in a single day because certain individuals irritated me to the extent that I was starting to argue with the characters via my Kindle (yes I know that the story is fiction and the characters aren’t real but I find that I get far too involved when I read a book and live the story as if it were real).  I did manage to binge read the book over the course of a few days.  Overall this was an enjoyable fun and festive read.
‘No Room At The Little Cornish Inn’ is well written.  Nancy certainly knows how to make places spring to life.  She described the location of the Little Cornish Inn so vividly and realistically and made it sound so idyllic that I was all for packing a suitcase and setting off for a holiday.  Nancy certainly knows how to combine the drama with the fun and with the humour.  On a few occasions I found myself chuckling away to myself at something that I had read.  There were a few twists and turns along the way.  I guessed some of them but not all of them.
In short and overall I did enjoy reading ‘No Room At The Little Cornish Inn’.  I will certainly be reading more of Nancy’s work in the future.  The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 4* out of 5*.

Pure perfection! No Room at the Little Cornish Inn was filled with Christmas Magic! Perfect for cozy reading and getting you into the Christmas spirit. I was almost crying at how sweetly this book ended in the best way! When single mom, Rosie, is ordered by her awful boss to spend the weeks leading up to Christmas and her son's birthday secret shopping a franchise of their hotel chain she rises to the occasion. Along the way Rosie finds friends, purpose and sparks in the beautiful country setting Cornwall. I would love to be friends with Rosie in real life she seems so refreshing, positive and grounded. This book is sure to warm even the coldest of hearts and make them grow a size or two.

What a joy this book was to read. I really enjoyed it. Rosie was a relatable character, a bit damaged from her relationship that ended eight years previously, her son Danny is her world and she'll do anything to keep him happy. Mitchell (he's as good looking as Poldark) is bitter from his wife leaving him the previous Christmas. His relationship with Danny is utterly heart warming.. This is a gorgeous festive read with a few twists and turns, some a bit predictable, some not. Would recommend it to anybody who needs a bit of festive cheer...and a lovely romantic read this festive season.

Sadly this story didn't really work for me. I liked the set up of Rosie being made to work through Christmas by her horrible boss and pressured into firing the manager of this inn on the other side of the country. You know going in that she's going to fall for this guy, and there's an adorable little boy in the mix, as well as interesting side characters. But then the romance only took 2 seconds to go from 0 to 100, and the book just lost me.

I liked Rosie and her sometimes rambling thought spirals at first, but after a while they started to become more and more annoying. I also had a hard time believing her behaviour at work. It just seems hard to believe that she didn't know there was someone she could go to with regards to her boss's treatment of her.

I feel like I would've enjoyed the basic concept behind this more in another format, like maybe one of those over-the-top Christmas movies with ridiculously attractive actors trying to look like normal people?

Rosie Anderson is a single mum who was hoping to spend Christmas with her mum & dad in the Midlands. Instead she gets asked to take on a last minute job to assess how well (or badly) a small hotel in being run. In Cornwall. She has to take her young son with her and when Rosie gets to the inn, there are no rooms left - she's been double-booked. 

Rosie and the manager Mitchell get off to a bad start, though he is very kind to her son Danny. As Rosie starts to unravel the problems with the hotel - including some very negative online reviews, she realises all isn't what it initially seems and this could just turn out to be a very different and wonderful Christmas.

Yes, it's a Christmas novel, with a handome hero, cute kid and misunderstandings - and a boss from hell at Head Office who annoyed me intensely - the woman is a bully! However, the characters (apart from said boss) are likeable and the story is well-drawn. Cornwall is charming and the festivities are appealing. Perfect for curling up with on a cold afternoon and losing yourself in Christmas cheer.

This was such a cute little Christmas novel! So perfect for the holiday season and a great book to get me out of slump.

Like other reviews of this book, I think this is such an adorable holiday story.  I enjoyed the storyline and the characters.  As a single mother of a young boy, I especially related to to Rosie and her life situation.  Rosie's interactions with Mitchell are a little unbelievable, but fun none the less.  My favorite quote from this book: "I guess problems have their own GPS system so they don't just go and get lost like we' like them to, but actually return and multiply like rabbits on Speed."  lol. I enjoy the light, humorous tone of Rosie, it makes the reader feel like they are there talking to her in person.  This is a story about healing the past and moving forward, it's about love, family, and Christmas.  If you're looking for a light, fun holiday read, this is it!

I saw this book listed and the cover really grabbed my attention. I love cornwall and will gladly read books set there as I can always immerse myself in the story by picturing where things are set and the noises and smells of different parts of the county.

I loved the backdrop of this book, and the transition from city life to the slower paced Cornish way. 

I liked the author’s style and found some parts of the book really cheery and amusing. Unfortunately, there was one main element of this story that I couldn’t gel with...the romance just happened so fast it felt impossible to connect to it. Personally, I prefer the slow burn with tonnes of chemistry. 

Overall, a lovely festive read.

No room at the inn for a mother and child, but what happens next ? Plenty of twists and turns in this festive novel as you sit curled up nice an warm to read this.  This is very well written and a pleasure to read, a great 5 star book. A Christmas novel to read and enjoy.

Good characters and back story, however I did feel that the relationship between Rosie and Mitchell was at a lightspeed, it just sped along far too quickly for me to find it truly authentic. I loved Rosie's son Danny, and thought he brought a lot to the story. Overall it was a nice light-hearted Christmas read perfect for dark evenings's cosied up under a throw by the fire (just what we all need at the moment)

This is such a gorgeous read and has left me with a big smile and warm fuzzy feeling. I haven't been able to put this one down and devoured this entire book in one sitting.
This has been a perfect escape from the stresses of reality. I've been able to fully switch off and lose myself in the pages of this one.
I love the characters in this. They are the perfect mix and I have adored each of them as they all bring their own uniqueness to the book.
I have had moments reading this one where I have literally laughed out loud. This book has definitely converted me as a fan of the author and I will definitely be seeking more books by her.

This is a beautiful story. It’s a love story, and also a life changing story. 
Rosie Anderson, a single mom, was hoping for a quiet Christmas with her son Danny and her family, far from London. But then her boss at the head office – aka Susan the Sacker – suddenly assigns her to go in incognito and save a tiny inn in Cornwall from being closed permanently. Rosie doesn't know why The Old Bell Inn is performing so badly but it's on her to sort it out!
Once Rosie arrives at the inn, she finds out she's been double booked – there are no rooms left. And she isn't there for more than a minute before she's butting heads with the manager, Irishman Mitchell Fitzpatrick. He seems close up and rude, but he gets really well with Danny.
Now, Rosie has a work to do, a mystery to solve and a heart to protect, because Mitchell is not only a gorgeous man, but an amazing partner for Danny and herself. But is he going to forgive her once he discovers she is there to spy on him?
I really like this book, is sweet and romantic. The side characters, specially Danny are amazing.  I love the dynamics between the three of them. This is one of those books to read dreaming of Christmas trees. Enjoy! I absolutely did.

This was good in concept and started off cute, but again the speed of the romance killed it for me. Who meets, falls in love, and decides to get married in under three weeks while facing a “break up” in the middle? It’s just too unbelievable. Especially for someone who is newly divorced. 

I wish romance writers would stop force feeding us these fast progression romances. Meet, hate each other, smooch, sleep together, declare themselves in love and are married in under a month. Less than one average menstrual cycle.

The story follows Rosie in England. Her boss is forcing her into working during Christmas. Rosie has to because she would lose her job and all her stability if she doesn’t do this task. She drives over to Cornwall with her son which is where she has to inspect a hotel. The manager is absolutely horrible to her on the first day but she doesn’t report anything bad because she giving him the benefit of the doubt. As more secrets start being uncovered and Rosie starts liking the manager, there are more problems. 

This story was so much fun to read. It had all these different British phrases but wasn’t hard to understand. The characters all were realistic and easy to imagine. It takes a little bit of time taking off but in the end, it's all worth it.

This is a story set during Christmastime. 

It’s perfect novel for those wanting to snuggle up to read a book with a warm blanket next to a glowing fireplace.

So, Rosie Anderson was looking forward  to enjoying the Christmas holidays with her son Danny along with family and friends, that is, until those plans are dashed by her boss. 

Instead, of doing what she wanted to, now, Rose must head out to The Old Bell Inn,there, she’s to perform an inspection of the Inn’s operations and staff, in other words, a witch hunt,

She has a bristling confrontation with the Inn’s manager, Mitchell Fitzpatrick,. Now, Rosie has to try and keep an open mind. After all, it is the holiday season, and things can be hectic in a place like this. 

After you’ve got through the start of the story, you are then rewarded with a charming and delightful second half, just as a Christmas romance should be.

Recommend it.

The premise of the book is cute and the setting was well done for a holiday romance, the thing is that somewhere in the story the romance was off, and the inner thoughts of Rosie were too much and felt like a drag to the story.
