Self Made is the second book in the Freshwater series from Belinda Williams, and it's just as satisfying as the first. It is a series of inter-connected stand-alone romances.

In Self Made, we have personal trainer Jessica working to transform newscaster Ant as he tries to make a career comeback. Jessica is an online fitness guru, and she her professional reputation is on the line as they document Ant's transformation. Jess is a great female lead. She's smart, independent, determined, trustworthy, and goal-oriented. She's going to help Ant. But she doesn't count on developing feelings for him along the way, and she doesn't expect the 'transformation' to have the results that it does.

Ant has a witty line for every situation, and he has been focused on fun and humor as his key personality traits. As his physical transformation take shape, he challenges Jessica to open her mind to other definitions of perfect besides just physically in shape.

There is a lot of witty dialog, interesting situations, and character development in this book. Very enjoyable and satisfying.

Belinda Williams has authored another entertaining novel with Self Made, the second book from her Freshwater series. It is a nicely written read, replete with an engaging plot, well-conceived characters, and a fun-loving romance. This story takes place on the coast of Australia, where the ocean provides a calming tranquility.

Jessica Jinks is a fitness guru. Thanks to social media, her realistic outlook about exercise has earned her a bit of fame and fortune. Ant Monticello is a comedian and the co-host of a lifestyle TV show. He agrees to let Jess transform his out-of-shape body into something more. Jess has three months to get Ant into shape. Their respective fans are watching, and both of them succeeding will boost their careers into the stratosphere. Overtime, they fall into lust and love.

Jess and Ant share an immediate spark, which they explore in a hotel room after Ant wins a prestigious award.

This is a quick read that I truly enjoyed. However, I must mention that I found the name Ant, short for Antony, to be a bit irritating. If you are in the mood for a sexy romance with a strong heroine and a comedic hero with a lot of heart, then spend sometime in Australia with Self Made.

Complimentary copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

I really enjoyed this book. It was cute and enjoyable without being super raunchy like some romance books. I really liked the fitness/healthy lifestyle emphasis - which I've never encountered in another romance. I'll definitely be reading this book again!
