I’m always on the look out for a good children’s book to share with my nephew and I really liked the idea behind this one.

As a second child myself, I understand parents and older siblings not having time to deal with a very chatty little one (ie me, I was a very chatty kid). And I like the idea of finding friends of different shapes, sizes, and backgrounds.

Sweet read with nice illustrations, definitely one that I would consider sharing with my nephew.

Another charmer! A picture book about a baby chick who can't find anyone to listen to her. I am sure every kid in the world has had this feeling of having so much to say they can barely contain themselves but everyone else around them just gives them tired dismissive looks. This chick gets lucky and finds the ultimate listening partner an unhatched egg! I won't spoil all the surprises but I have to say this.....perhaps little chick should have learned to shut up every once and a while and let others talk. I predict a long career in educational administration. Despite these complaints, this is a really cute book and will make an excellent read aloud

Such an adorable book! The illustrations are bright and inviting, and the text and illustrations blend perfectly to tell this sweet & funny story. It's a story about family & friendship, and has a cute surprise ending.

The characters and family dynamics are realistic and hilarious - I easily saw myself in the mother, sister, and little chick at different parts of the story! It's doubly hilarious for anyone who has spent much time with chicks, too - they really do peep incessantly, only stopping when they're in a deep sleep. :D

Perfect for both home readalouds and library storytimes, the book's story is clear, while also allowing for plenty of discussion and play with children (sounds that chickens make, movements like digging & pulling wagons, sometimes it's hard when parents are busy, independent play ideas, friendship - especially how sometimes friends have opposite personalities, etc.). Highly recommend!

A cute (relatable) story about a baby chick who has a LOT to say, and her family that doesn't want to/doesn't have time to listen. When she meets a new friend who is quieter and happy to just listen, they hit it off. Simple tale/illustrations. Perfectly nice and worth reading but not necessarily one I would feel the need to actively seek out.

Chick Chat is a sweet book that deals with the common problem that little ones have. All the big people are busy, who can I talk/play/read with? This is a fun book that little ones will enjoy, and mimic!

This is a story about a chick who just loves to talk but sadly no one wanted to listen. Until she found one egg and took a care of it.
Chick Chat taught us that friends can come in the most unexpected time and places. Does not matter how different you are, you can always find a friend :) A very short, little but yet heartwarming book.

This is a fun story about a chatting chick who has a lot to say, but no one who has time to listen. The story was short, but sweet and had lovely illustrations. This book would be great for preschoolers learning about friendship.

Cute story about a talkative little chick. She has so much to say but her family has had enough. That's when she finds a mysterious egg that doesn't mind "listening" to her chatter.

What's in the egg? It's the big surprise of the story. :)

This children's picture book is adorably illustrated and charming. A little chick has a lot of beeps to day but mom and dad and his sister are too busy to listen. Sadly I'm sure many children can relate to the experience. Fortunately the chick finds an egg that will eventually become a new friend who listens.

I got an advanced reading copy from Netgalley. My preferred reading app is Kindle on my phone but the mobi file from Netgalley didn't look right. On Adobe Digital Editions it was much prettier. This happened on a couple of other picture books from Netgalley as well. Possibly my app version is incompatible with the Netgalley format. Books with just text usually look fine on it.

Such a sweet story about a talkative little chick who finds an egg only to have it hatch to be a unexpected friend who's the best listener. Loved the adorable pictures throughout the book & the flow of the book. Great as a classroom book or just to add to your childs home library.

"Chick Chat" by Janie Bynum is an adorable new book about a baby chick who loves to talk! Baby chick finds an egg to chat with when her family is tired of all her peeping noises. She takes care of the egg and then becomes friends with the new critter that is born soon after.

This book was a super cute and fun read. There was a lot of peeping, so reading aloud was a fun experience with the kids. Our kids loved that the baby chick was extremely talkative. We also loved the turtle character when he came into the story. Overall, this was a short but fun read that has adorable illustrations and would be fabulous for young kids.

A well-illustrated cute story about a talkative baby chick. When his family members are all too busy to listen to him, he finds a good ear in a friend who hatches from an egg he found.

This was such a cute, sweet story. I really liked the illustrations. Chick was so fun and very realistic to a talkative younger sibling. I loved the development with Chick's found egg and new friendship. The wording was very simplistic but very humorous. I could find this story perfect for a funny storytime or read aloud.

Chick Chat is such a cute little picture book! The illustrations are sweet and effective, with so much personality in every character and on every page. (I loved the details of the book titles being read by Sister Chicken.) The story is just as sweet and wholesome, with a warm ending that might surprise young readers. It's a charming book to read with little ones, especially those who might be chatterboxes themselves.

Thank you to NetGalley and NorthSouth books for the advance review copy!

Peep!Peep!Peep! My my my....baby chick sure has a lot to say! Like most "kids" this little chick has a lot she wants to talk about, but sadly her family is just to busy to listen. Little chick stumbles across an egg that has Nothing to say but it sure is a good listener.
This book was short and sweet. The writing is simple and the book is full of brightly colored illustrations. This sweet little book is perfect for early listeners and new readers. This little book doesnt offer much in the way of a plot or learning oppurtunity, but it is really cute.

I recieved a digital copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a cute short story about a baby chick who has a lot to say, but no one seems to want to take the time to listen. Baby chick befriends an egg she finds in the ground, and sits with it and keeps it company. Soon, baby chick finds the egg gone, but now has a new friend, who will be very good for listening to chatty chick!

Such a cute book...loved the adorable baby chicken illustrations. Sweet story!

I received an electronic ARC from North South Books Inc. through NetGalley.
Almost every family has a talkative member. In this case, Baby Chick peeps all the time. Chick tries to talk to family members but they were busy with other things. That didn't stop him from peeping. While exploring, Baby Chick finds a mysterious egg and takes care of it. He protects it and stays with it and tells it all the latest news. When the egg hatches, Chick finds a new friend who doesn't talk much and is happy to offer a listening ear while Chick continues to talk.
Charming illustrations bring the easy to follow text to life for younger readers. They will appreciate the colorful drawing style. Older readers will appreciate the humor in the whole situation as they relate to being the talker or the rest of the family. Good choice to talk about balance and finding new friends who connect with us.
